Lovely family owned diner serving breakfast and lunch. Definitely a favorite spot with the locals and we could see why. Very friendly service. Great food. Americana atmosphere.

Little breakfast spot with fresh ingredients and service! Everyone greets you when you walk in and they make sure every order is made fresh and correct! I have gone here for breakfast and lunch and recommend this cozy and cute restaurant.

Spinach, tomato, and cheddar omelet with home fries and homemade raisin toast! Delicious!

Home made corned beef hash. You'd think that I would t need to say any more, but their whole wheat toast is also something special.

I couldn't believe it when I saw that not only was Oatley's back but it was now in my home town.

This place clearly gets busy quickly so glad we got there when we did. Got to enjoy the cocktail hour specials in addition to the regular menu. We tried a little of everything and everything was so delicious. There is still a ton more I want to come back to try. Martini and fries, dozen oysters, brussel sprouts, crudo, tofu bahn mi. Each of them was 10/10. Natural cut fries are my favorite and they were perfect. Brussel sprouts were rich and indulgent. The oysters came with lime and a kimchi mignionette. So fresh and unique. Crudo came with a decadent chili crisp. Flavorful and refreshing. The bahn mi looked pretty bland but was actually a delightful combination of flavors. We subbed the fries for a side salad and it was absolutely perfect. Plenty of street parking in Wakefield. Love that they're dog friendly. Overall excellent!

Purslane is that place for me after one amazing dinner a few weeks ago that I can't stop thinking about. The food is outstanding without being fussy. The service is warm without being too much. The space is beautifully decorated, and there's even coffee table photography books in the bathroom, like come on! Last but not least, they have the Champagne of Beers, so you know it's my jam. I only wish I lived closer but it's worth the drive and I'm looking forward to more memorable meals here.

We drove up to the building and there really is nothing special about it, very few windows and some over grown trees in the parking lot. I didn't have high hopes. When entering into the restaurant the appearance of the bar and dining area was actually decent. Wood floors, wooden tables and a nice atmosphere at the bar. There was a bit of a cleaning supply/bar smell when you first walk in. Again I wasn't expecting much. The kids ordered a small Caesar salad and pasta with butter as their main dish. My husband and I both ordered the marinated grilled chicken with vegetables and potato. A fresh hot loaf of bread with butter was placed on the table right away. It was definitely out of the oven hot and delicious. The kids devoured most of it and we ordered a second one. The waitress, Grace was very attentive and ensured we had everything we needed for the table. I have to say the service was excellent as expressed on other reviews. Definitely a plus with kids! Our kids devoured the Caesar salad. It had fresh lettuce, shredded cheese, croutons and well mixed in dressing. They loved it! When our main dishes arrived, it looked promising, two pieces of nicely grilled chicken on the dish. When I tasted it, I was impressed! It was delicious! Perfectly grilled, not rubbery, and very tasty. The meal came with a side sauce of our liking. I chose the lemon butter on recommendation of the waitress. Perfectly paired! The kids pasta and butter was buccatini and was nice and hot, with a side of potato chip fries. Very good and very unique. They ate it all! Overall, ChopHouse Grille exceeded my expectations. While it isn't on the same level as a special occasion restaurant like the Coast Guard House, it offers solid food, excellent service, and a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. We never felt out of place dining with our kids, and the staff made the experience easy and enjoyable. I would definitely return to try one of their steaks next time. If you're looking for a comfortable spot for a family dinner with consistently good food and service, I'd happily recommend giving it a try.

The taste was nothing like a good steakhouse French onion soup. The cheese was off and the broth was a totally different flavor profile. The croutons were soggy. Only had a few spoonfuls and I was done with that. The New York strip was cooked well but could use a little more char. Mashed potatoes and asparagus were fine. Soda was flat and flavorless. Why can't restaurants ever get soda right? Like I said. Hit or miss. I won't be back.

The ranch was great and honestly the best part of the meal. The chicken wasn't very good at all. One of my tenders was basically entirely breading, and the breading isn't very good. The parts that did have significant pieces of chicken were dry and almost tasted burnt, so dunking them in ranch was necessary. $26 for this meal is exorbitant when I could drive to the Cane's in Warwick and get significantly more, better food than this. It might be great for URI students late at night, and I love the amount of sauces they offer, but I likely won't be back. I sat outside for a while waiting on my order to be ready and never saw anyone go in, so maybe others have come to the same conclusion. It's a shame, because I was really hoping it would be good.

We were in town for a tour at URI and needed some food before heading home. Stack House had great…read morereviews here so we decided to give it a try. The service was friendly while we ordered at the counter. The restaurant itself was empty other than us, though they seemed to do a decent take out business in mid-summer even with no students around. Maybe we should've taken our food somewhere else to eat. The music was not our style and was very loudly playing through a tv mounted on the wall. It was also very hot in the restaurant, despite it being only 67 degrees and rainy outside. The AC vent was *kinda* blowing cool air if you stood under it. Despite ordering food to dine in, it was served in a greasy-fingerprinted plastic container with plastic utensils. I think the only difference would be that "to-go" would have been placed in a a plastic bag. The food.... The options for food are waffles in various ways, chicken sandwiches flavored with different things, or chicken & waffles, which we ordered so we could try a bit of everything. I did eat about half of a serving before giving up. The chicken was rubbery and bland. The waffle was dense and also pretty bland. The French fries were a bit too potato-y for my liking. Everything felt too greasy and not flavorful. It all absolutely needed a sauce that they charge nearly $2 extra for. We had one maple bourbon sauce to share and it was tasty but not enough for two people so I kept dousing everything in the maple syrup that was on the table. My dining partner said, "I don't think even that much syrup will help." When I couldn't finish, even my teenaged, eat-anything, and budget-conscious kid said, "just toss it. It is not worth saving." Though it was after 2pm when we had this lunch, neither of us felt hungry for dinner that night- and not really in a "wow that was so good it filled me up" way. Stack House likely does a great hangover food business. If I'm back in the area, I will try something else next time.
