The Green Papaya is my favorite sushi spot in Cincy, and I'm so happy we were in the neighborhood this weekend. It was my wife's first time at the Green Papaya and I'm glad she got to go! I ordered my staple, the Green Papaya roll. As always, the fish was at the peak of freshness, deftly rolled, and topped with the most delicious sauce. The crunchies are the cherry on top. I don't even need soy sauce with my rolls at the Papaya. My other favorites on the menu come froM the Thai side, including Paid Thai, which my wife ordered. The dish is superbly flavored, with a rich peanut sauce and slight crunch to the veggies. You need it in your life. My two favorites are the pad Thai and the spicy tuna roll. The big conundrum revolves around 3PM. The big deal: lunch vs. dinner pricing. $8.95 vs. $12.95 for essentially the same pad thai meal. While their dishes clearly have great presentation value and attention to detail, for me it's all about the value. If you can get in before 3PM, Green Papaya is a 5 star pan-Asian food joint. As much as I wanted to love Green Papaya, I wasn't impressed. It's been on my to try list for awhile and I finally he chance one Sunday afternoon. I stopped by with my husband and daughter. We seemed to get there shortly before the crowd started to pick up. The service was ok. The waiter was nice but she seemed to be waiting on a lot of tables so the service was a little slower than I'd prefer. I also felt the meal was expensive for no reason. Our bill was $75-$80 and it just wasn't impressive. I also woke up sick the next morning. Yes, like vomiting and diarrhea at 4:30-5:00 am. I'm sure that's TMI but it is what it is *shrugs*. I was fine all day and then this was the last thing I ate that night and woke up sick the next morning. Before we ordered dinner, I ordered their Ginger Salad, it was actually pretty good. A basic salad mix (greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, and carrots) with ginger dressing. The dressing had a good flavor and was pretty balanced. My husband also ordered a sushi roll (I don't remember the name). Because I am pregnant I didn't eat any. He said it was good. I ordered the Siam Fried Rice and my husband ordered I think the Hot Fish. The Siam consisted of egg, baby corn, onion, pineapple chunk, mixed peas, red pepper, snow pea, carrot and in house special sauce. This dish was bland in flavor and seasoning. It surely wasn't anything special. My husband's dish was actually decent and had more flavor than mine. I only tasted the sautéed spinach that came with it but he raved about his dish. He told me mine was bland. Lol. We ordered our daughter the chicken skewers. She didn't eat but a few bites. The chicken skewers were ok as well. Amazing Pad Thai!!! I have been hearing great things so I finally went in to try it out and it definitely lived up to the hype! The inside of the restaurant isn't the fanciest, but you don't go for that - you go for the incredible Pad Thai!! I went here with a group of four. We started with the crab rangoon and they were typical and tasty, served with great sauce. I had a glass of wine and my fiancé got a beer - great prices on drinks! All four of us got the Pad Thai as our main dish. One vegetarian got tofu and was very pleased with it. The rest of us got Chicken Pad Thai at our varying spice levels and we all LOVED it! Each dish is a huge amount, so us ladies had enough to take home leftovers that we got to enjoy for lunch the following day. The guys were able to finish theirs and leave with very full bellies. In the future, I'd probably order this for carry-out (it seemed that's what most people were doing), but I will definitely be getting this Chicken Pad Thai many more times!! I've been here a few times but this is the first time Im writing a review for this place. I've never been disappointed at this place. I've had their Pad Thai, Green Curry, Egg Rolls, Chicken Satay. Thai Ice Tea and some of their sushi rolls. All of them have been delicious. The Pad See Ew is my go to at this place. Their Pad See Ew are pan fried, leaving a a very subtle crisp to noodles which I like. This and the Pad Thai have a good amount of sauce, unlike other Thai restaurants I've tried, so it brings a lot of flavor to the dish. A minor criticism about the food is that sometimes, the Pad Thai can get sticky and slightly mushy. Other than that they are very delicious. The service has always been good and I really like the decor. There's a little fountain as soon as you enter the restaurant. This makes the ambiance in this dining area relaxing. My husband and i stopped in here 8/1 and received the most horrible service. We didn't even stay and eat. My husband walked in and waited for 5 mins to be seated. Then she proceeded to yell in Chinese about us as patrons... my husband is Chinese and i think they assumed he didn't speak Chinese , but he does, what they had to say about us in Chinese wasn't kind. When the waitress finally did come over, she walked up and said 'what do you want?' And when my husband mentioned he didn't appreciate her tone and walking up and stating 'what do you want' is rude... the waitress stated she didn't say that, she asked 'how are we doing' ... SHE BLATANTLY LIED AND CALLED US LIARS My husband and i have frequented this restaurant for years. Often we use their carry out because we have a small child. This was the first evening in 5 months we had a chance to have a date and we chose to come to Green Papaya, only to be spoken about derogatorily in Chinese and then to be gas lighted and lied to, never once receiving even water at our table after being the only table sat in a 20 min period. Not only was I shocked about how we were treated and spoken about, but i was so disappointed to know i can never visit this establishment again. TLDR: Decent Thai food in an area that doesn't have that many options. Came to green papaya the other day and was surprised with the number of options they had on their menu. They have everything from curries to noodle dishes to sushi. I went for the crispy pad Thai dish that I thought was good but not anything super special. It's definitely a unique take on a traditional dish but for some reason, for something that is fried, I would've expected a hotter plate. My dish came out lukewarm at best and was a little greasy. When we walked in we first noticed how pretty the space is. I loved all of the plants and the natural light the sky lights brought in. We ordered a green and massaman curry with their "crazy noodles". I really liked the flavors in the green and massaman. It was filling without being too heavy. My friend chose to get duck in the massaman curry and it was cooked really well. It was very crispy! The chicken in the green curry was tender and delicious. Friday night and we were craving Thai food, since a friend of mine suggested Green Papaya, I went to give it a try. Green Papaya is an Asian fusion restaurant. They served a variety of Thai food and sushi. So, when I hopped off my Uber my first thought was why I did not take my car because they have a parking lot, it was actually parking lot for all the establishments so it might get full easily. Surprisingly on a Friday night it was not that busy. We came in, seated quickly and ordered. Thai Iced Tea (Bubble) - I like it when my milk tea is not that sweet. They did not ask the sweetness level, but when I drink it, it was perfectly sweetened. Steamed Shu-Mai (8pcs) - You have the option of steamed or pan-fried. That night I went for a steamed Shu-Mai. They were small and taste okay. Chicken Pad Thai (Mild) - Adding chicken has an additional cost. You can choose from a variety of meat that you like. Spiciness level that I went for was mild and it was perfect level. Tate-wise it was okay. The taste was not overwhelming, but the noodles were a bit soggy. Portion size was average size. Shrimp Pad See Ew (Spicy) - If you have a low tolerance for spicy food, I suggest go with mild or nothing at all. Because Green Papaya was not joking when you ask for spicy they will give you spicy. Anyway, spicy aside, my second go to dish is pad see ew, and theirs was one my favorite. The taste was perfect for my taste bud. It was not that salty and it has the hint of barbeque-y taste. I don't know why. Serving size - Average for the noodle dishes. Price - On a pricey side Service - They are nice and helpful So, the restaurant itself is big, there are booths or tables choices. They also have a sushi bar where you can eat sushi while watching the masters making it. Interiors pretty nice, they have this big centerpiece when you enter the place. All in all, it was a decent place to have Thai food, a bit pricey compared to the other Asian fusion restaurant, but then again, if you are looking for Thai food give them a try! read more

We ordered the Queen City Rainbow with the thai spicy sauce and the Tri-State roll. The main entree was huge and 2 (on a scale of 1-3) was a perfect spicy level for me. I do have to say that our service was very slow despite the restaurant being almost empty. We had to wave down the waitress anytime we wanted something. This might be the best Thai place in Cincinnati! I came during lunch and their menu selection during this time was excellent. I got the Lunch Box and so much food came with it and there was a variety of selections. The thing I like most is you get a combination of a lot of different foods to throw in the box. I ended up getting Pad Thai, Mango Curry, Rice, Spring Roll, and Vegetable soup. All of that came out to be about 10 dollars. Can't beat that price. Food quality was on point as well. I went here with two friends (and one's young child) after a long day, with big appetites. One had been here before and knew instantly what she wanted, which included hot tea and a side of rice for her son, the other went with a bowl of fried rice, and I spent about 10 minutes weighing all the amazing sounding options on the menu. I ended up going with the Sashimi platter, that included a ginger salad and miso soup - it seemed the most food for the money, and that's what I needed at the time! The salad and soup came out quickly, along with the side of rice, but the hot tea took awhile to come in (multiple requests, which the server was always very polite about but always forgetting). Anyways! The salad was a little too over-dressed, but it had a really good ginger flavor and wasn't overpowering despite being overdressed, the soup came out piping hot with good chunks of tofu, but a very flavorless broth. Our dinners came out very fast as well, with the fried rice bowl being a decent size for the cost (smaller than what I would prefer, but my friend was happy with it), and the chef's choice sashimi having a good variety of fish (Pictured). I personally was very happy with the fact that you could tell the sushi had been worked by the chef recently, they used their hands well to get the fish to a warm temperature that was perfect for what you would expect in good sashimi. The rice was great sushi rice, with a good size serving for each fish. As a whole, for a sit down experience I was very happy with the sashimi platter. 4 stars because I think the food was good, service prety quick and polite, but there are Thai places within the city I prefer over this, but Green Papaya is a solid option with a good price:food relationship for the area. Great for a light early dinner. My friend and I came to Green Papaya on a Sunday afternoon looking for delicious Thai food. We were seated immediately because there were only about 5 other people in the restaurant at the time. We were seated in a room by ourselves though which I thought was weird since everyone else was grouped together in the other room. But our server was very attentive and brought our drinks and food very soon after we ordered them. I usually go with a basic chicken pad Thai but wanted to step outside my comfort zone for this trip so I went with the chicken mango curry and I was not disappointed. It was SOOOO good and the perfect blend of tropical, spicy and savory. They also served it in a pineapple which just elevated the whole experience for me and made me feel like I was on a tropical vacation in the middle of that chilly Cincinnati winter day. The only negative about this meal was that it was room temperature which was okay because of the fruit in it but I think I would have preferred it to be a bit warmer. When we got our checks they had the totals already separated for us which was great but each of our dishes were rung up 1$ higher than what was listed in the menu and we were later told that this was because brown rice is an upcharge. Not a huge deal but I wish it was listed in the menu in more obvious way. This is great for a light meal because the portions are smaller but if you are looking for something more substantial just order a few appetizers and dessert too! read more
