I wish I could give Green Group, Tula/project manager, Kattia/designer and the onsite crews all 10 stars! My entry/kitchen/dining room repair and upgrade project was on the smaller side at 250 square feet; however, Tula and the team treated me as if this was a million-dollar project. During the whole process, from initial meeting for site walk and preparing an estimate to the day of final inspection and close out of fine tune details, Tula and the team took great care of my home and were very respectful towards me and of my time. Communication is key, never once did I feel as if I didn't know how progress was going or what the next steps would be, I received almost daily check ins or updates from Tula. Even when unforeseen circumstances happened, any necessary extra charges were fully explained to me and thought was clearly put into any suggestions/options regarding the additional costs as well as if it would or would not affect the timeline of my project. Add in the fact that my project was also an insurance claim and a challenging HOA, Tula was able to provide the needed separate estimate for repair of only the damaged areas covered by the insurance claim. Tula and the team also handled the City permitting process and scheduling of all inspections, much to my relief. When Ben Parnaus came, from the minute he entered the house, he was a bit rude. Maybe it was a lost in translation issue but he was very rude to my mom during the quoting session. We had requested he come to do a full interior paint on our home. He was a bit crass, short and asked if he needed to do the patches on the walls. He walked upstairs, looked into 2 bedrooms plus 1 kid bathroom (didn't even bother to look in the master bedroom or even the master bath or the other 2 bedrooms) and gave us a quote: $16,800 for a 2 story house for 2200 sq foot. Our house is constructed on a post-tension slab and we wanted to convert our half bath into a full bath without causing any issues. Given the complexity and this requires permits, we evaluated many proposals and finally choose the green group remodeling. They did a really good job in completing the project as per our needs. I called to get a quote/estimate for a bathroom remodel. The person who answered the phone asked me some questions about the project and I answered them. They told me the were not able to give me a itemized estimate for work (example, install tub $1200, install vanity $500) they said they would only provide one number for all work involved. Our kitchen remodel experience with Jacob and the GreenGroup was excellent. We were renovating a 70s era kitchen, but not just modernizing the furnishings and appliances. We were also knocking out a pass through wall and moving the sink back to the building wall under a window where there used to be a wet bar. We were also opening up the kitchen entrance which involved knocking out a couple of small walls. A few observations about GreenGroup and Jacob's team in particular: Jacob has really good people working for him. The team was clearly a group of regulars who have done numerous jobs with him. A shout out to Axl and Andy in particular, although every member of the team was a pro. Jacob has a good eye for design and helped us visualize our project and make the right choices with regards to materials, layout etc. He's very enthusiastic about what he does and it shows in the quality of the work. They handled the inevitable surprises that come with a job of this size extremely well. Like finding vent pipes inside one of the walls we were moving, or that the ceiling and walls were far from level, and a number of other smaller items. Moving the vent pipes added a change order, but the added price was fair. Communications with Jacob and the team was excellent, mostly via WhatsApp or phone when needed. They were flexible when we wanted to add small jobs outside of the kitchen to take advantage of having a team there, (e.g. recessed lighting in our foyer, fixing a hanging closet door issue), not gouging us on price. Though they weren't the least expensive option, I'm glad we paid that premium - and it wasn't that large - to get a quality outcome and excellent responsiveness to any questions or concerns we had. We just finished a house project consisting of an upstairs walkout balcony removal, new partial wall buildup w/ large window, 2 new replacement sets of patio doors in 2 downstairs areas and removal/new install of wood frames around all windows. Project Mgr. Tula, was awesome to work with! He was very responsive to my texts and clarified any questions I had regarding current and future projects. I can see how addicting home projects can be and Tula had a lot of patience as I asked about different project ideas that were jumping around in my head. For my home projects it was like a carousel of "to dos" that I would talk to Tula about. I am sure that I sounded like an airhead. :) I will take his advice and give it a day or two on what bothers me the most, now that the project is done (the "to-dos" kept changing), and go from there. Tula's team was great. They each had their own specialty and they worked so quickly and their was craftsmanship excellent! There was a good size team on site the first few days and that's why I think the job was done in abt 2 wks or less, whereas other quotes I had were close to 6 to 8 weeks! We are very happy with our new kitchen remodel! Green group removed one wall and pushed back another wall so that we could have a bigger kitchen that includes ample cabinets and an island. The quality of work was great, especially the tile work, dry wall and painting. They also raised the floor in our sunken living room which required them to raise the electric outlets too. We had a wood burning stove in the family room that was extremely heavy. They took it out and put it in the back of our truck so that we could take it to family in Nevada. They took out our carpet and put in new flooring all through the kitchen, living room, hallways and family room. All in all, very nice job. read more

We choose Green Group to do a complete remodel of our kitchen and to re-do two bathroom floors. We choose them over three other general contractors based on their reputation, cost and timeline of their bid and on our initial interactions with Jacob, who was our project manager. To reiterate what everyone probably already knows, any renovation of this scale is going to come with some difficulties and irritations. Word to the wise, always double check all dimensions and options on every plan.....no one will care about the details of your project like you will. That said, I honestly believe Jacob, and his foreman Raul did the best we could have possibly asked for. From start to finish, Raul ensured his crew kept our house as clean as possible and caused as minimal of disruption to our lives as possible. Really can't say enough good things about Raul's work ethic and attention to detail. A++. Jacob always supported Raul throughout the project, ensuring ample time to complete (and fix) all aspects of the job up to a standard we found acceptable. We had several small items that weren't right with the cabinets we selected, and Jacob continually facilitated getting things right. The overall cost did end up higher than first estimated, but Jacob did warn us in advance of the possibilities of certain things costing more, so that was appreciated. We remodeled our guest bath and large master shower with Green Group. Overall, I am quite happy with our outcome, though I believe it could have been a bit smoother. So, I struggle a bit between 4 and 5 stars. We'll call it 4.5. Jacob is eager to please, conscientious, responsive, and full of energy. It's clear he loves his work and he is good at it. After a false start with another Green Group foreman that honestly had me worried just a week and a half into the project, Jacob took over the job and began to organize it well. Anyone who thinks that even a small-medium sized remodeling job like ours can go off without a hitch is probably delusional, I know. Add complications of COVID and needing to be home throughout the entire process to some special considerations (always present) and it could have been a lot worse. I credit Jacob with managing our project and expectations very well. Jacob clearly takes pride in not only his work, but in overall customer satisfaction. He even pointed out some extra things for us that we added to the project in change orders which have heightened our satisfaction with this job. That said, Jacob appears stretched a bit too thin between projects. When he is available and engaged, all is well. When he is occupied with another project, things can slip a little. There was one minor glitch that caused our project to go off schedule and lose momentum about half way through. Without going into too much detail, this setback compounded an issue with another aspect of our project, causing our crew to become lax with their attention to neatness and keeping our home clean of construction dust while we were living with the construction. Jacob did his best to direct the crew to correct the original problem, but I discovered it was not done properly after they had moved on to another phase of work. After assessing that the original issue did, in fact, need to be readdressed, Jacob was cheerful and quick to see to it that the problem was fixed, often while managing remotely and responding to pictures I would send to him. By this point a couple of weeks of delays had started to pile on, though, and the spirits of the very friendly and great crew were noticeably dampened. Add to this some complicated tile work in the final phase that took longer than expected, required a couple of re-dos to get right, and generated an unexpected, but necessary, overage charge and an extra couple of weeks to the timeline, and frustration began to set in with us all. The crew started to get lax on sealing up the tile cutting areas and tile dust covered our entire (very open floor plan) home. Neatness and detail in painting also suffered and needed to be redone, causing more setbacks and delaying some flooring work we were having done in an adjacent room. Because we were now weeks delayed, Jacob was splitting time between multiple other projects. His assistant, Shon, did stop by occasionally, but didn't command the same presence at the site with the crew. I became a regular fixture on the text app Jacob set up for us. I leaned that pictures drew the fastest and most complete response from Jacob. When I brought my concerns to Jacob's attention (with pics and video) he responded quickly and reassured us that he would make it right. And he did, to an acceptable degree. He followed up tirelessly and made us feel like he was our advocate to everyone associated with the process. In the end, we are thrilled with the results. The work is beautiful and we are enjoying our home. Green Group has a solid representative of their company in Jacob and we would happily work with him again...maybe same time next year on something??? read more

We had two bathrooms remodeling projects with Tiko and Kim from Green Group Remodeling. They did an excellent job! Initially we only planned for one bathroom but ended up two bedrooms with reasonable price and flexible plans. We needed at least one bathroom on Friday nights for guests so couldn't do construction at the same time but they provided a flexible plan so it worked out well. They estimated 4-6weeks of time for one bathroom but they completed two projects in 4weeks (except shower door) with great outcomes. There was an issue with the shower door that we ordered at the last minute. But they figured out the solution so completed by following week. Tiko kept us in the loop with messages and calls. Kim was on site every single day to follow up with workers and suggested materials and products that saved my life. After we completed with final payment, we found minor issues next day. Tiko sent a worker right away and fixed them at the same day. We still have many projects for our home in a near future. We will definitely go with Green Group Remodeling. read more

We hired the green group to remodel two bathrooms. They were not the lowest bidder but we went with them based on the reviews here. It took 6 months (agreement was 2-3 months), and the process was very frustrating. Started with their designer who was repeatedly late to meetings and slow to respond, made many design/measurement errors, recommended products that don't exist, and not helping us find good alternatives. When the work finally started it was painstakingly slow with only one worker at a time and usually showing up only on some of the days and most days just for a few hours. Numerous mistakes were made with lack of attention to detail, poor workmanship, and many devotions from the agreed upon design. Throughout the process there was lack of proper supervision by the project manager. Worst of all was the repeated "gaslighting" by the project manager when we complained about various problems - telling us we imagined the problems or that they weren't fixable when they clearly were. After 40+ years of a metal strap rubbing against our hot water line, a pin hole leak occurred that was not noticeable until we started seeing mold forming behind our hot water heater. We contacted a company to inspect and determine the damage. Anyone you see in the first couple of pictures with a blue masking tape had to be removed. Green Group became an important part of the menagerie of contractors I needed to get the leak fixed and the resulting mess cleaned up. Jacob came out to my house on a Sunday to review the work that needed to be done and provide a quote. This was amazing considering it saved me from needing to stay home from work during the week. Jacob knew that we wanted to get back into our house as soon as possible with the Holidays fast approaching. Given the damage and it being a relative unknown when the mold and water damaged area would be cleaned up and dry, Jacob worked with his team to be flexible to our needs. We had the mold, damaged drywall, flooring, and other wood removed on a Thursday and drying finally finished on Tuesday. Jacob and Ismail came by the house the following morning and got started. It took two days when the original estimate suggested it may take three. This ensured I could get the Water Heater back in before the weekend and move my family back into the house. Jacob and Ismail were amazing and super helpful throughout the process. A few things I would highlight especially: - Upon arriving to start the job, I decided to ask about having a door created to the crawl space underneath the A/C Furnace and Hot Water Heater. They were able to accommodate w/o any additional cost. - They understood that because this is a garage I was not looking to go "crazy" with the finish. Still, their work looks clean, professional, and included small touches that make it look like it could be in any part of the house. They did a nice job picking material for the stairs and trimming each step in particular. - They offered to come back once the A/C Furnace and Hot Water Heater were installed to touch up any paint or anything else that may have been "dinged" while being those units were reinstalled. Overall, great experience with Green Group. I will definitely keep them in mind if I need more work in the future and would recommend them to anyone with a home remodeling project. read more

We chose Green Group Remodeling to help rebuild our fence and retaining wall here at our house in Mill Valley at the end of February. (2020) At first, it seemed like the project was starting off well. The contact person, Jacob Bachar, was pleasant enough and overly friendly. He described to us what the plans were for the wall, what our options were for building materials and design. My wife, my elderly parents (who we are taking care of here), and myself agreed upon the final design only after a few weeks. Because of the permits needed for the retaining wall, we decided to start the fence first. Things looked like they were going well. Then, COVID-19 happened and everything came to a screeching halt. The old wooden wall had been taken down, leaving the dirt hill exposed and ready to fall into our patio area (the house is built on a hill). Bricks were left stacked in piles, occupying all our usable patio space until just before July 4, and trash and other tools had been left scattered here until that time as well. It stayed like this until late September, when they were finally able to get the bricks and concrete into place. So, for about 6-7 months, we had to hope that there wasn't going to be a rainfall and have the entire hill fall into our patio while we waited for them to finish. Understandably, COVID-19 was an impediment in getting the job done in a timely manner, largely due also to the (presumably) slow building inspectors from the Marin County offices. But compounded with that were numerous occasions of us needing to call Jacob to have his crew come and clean up messes they left behind (leftover food, trash, and tools strewn about). The fence at one point, had a gap that was left open in it to allow a construction vehicle to come down the hill and work on the retaining wall, and we struggled getting them to come repair some of the boards that fell off. For months, we had neighbors looking into our yard! We needed to nag Jacob a couple times to come and shore that up. This was a repeat pattern of work that was sloppy and left half finished. Add to that him telling us about the "new jobs" they had recently taken and how he was trying to schedule time for us to get our walk finished just added insult to injury. The final straw was when we gave him our final check for the remainder of the work completed. I asked them directly to not cash the check until a certain date, where upon they cashed it that same day, causing an over draft fee with our account. They did offer to reimburse us that fee amount, but we were honestly sick of dealing with them at this point. Considering how much money we spent on the entire project (roughly 58K), and how much we had to pester them to get the job done or to clean up after themselves, I would not recommend this company for the work you need. I will say that the finished wall and fence are nicely done, but the work ethic that we experienced with them was sub-par. read more
