I had to find a company out of the blue when I had roof problems. Everyone knows that feeling of, "How am I going to know a good company when I see one?". Fast forward to Jose showing up literally the SAME DAY I called when others that said WEEKS! We talked, he LISTENED (big thing to me) and did an estimate. I didn't even bother to get other estimates at this point because he was the ONLY one to show any concern about my house. The work was done in a timely fashion with no upselling at any point and when tiles were found to be cracked (previously undetected) he simply used the spares I had without trying to make a buck selling me new ones! Absolutely great service! Now, for the best part. Almost a year later I have the problems return. Jose comes back out, inspects and takes care of it all! Mind you, it was raining off & on and things are getting wet and he comes out the same day and does a temp repair to stop any damage. Thankfully the rain stopped. His schedule was jammed he told me and to expect them in a few days. But then they show up the next day and hammer it all out!! NOW THAT IS SERVICE. Don't hesitate, call Roofing Craftsmen. read more

For over 10 years we had significant leaks during rainstorms in our living and dining rooms, as well as the skylight in our kitchen. Twelve tubs set out to catch the water! Every time it rained! We had our roof replace six years ago, partially to resolve the leaking problem. The roofer said the leaks were the fault of the chimney and not in his wheelhouse. The chimney guys said it was a roofing problem. Neither did anything about it. Mr. Skylight looked at the leaking skylight and said it couldn't be fixed and we needed to buy a new skylight, which we politely declined. I was at wits end and a friend suggested I call Jose at Roofing Craftsmen. They re-worked the roofing on the area around the chimney and skylight and voila...a few days later an atmospheric river came by for days and not a single leak! Why did it take 10 years to find them? Last week I had a complicated problem with a downspout and they fixed it with a simple solution the next day. You cannot go wrong with Roofing Craftsman. read more

I highly recommend Roofing Craftsman and Jose Escalante. On February 6, 2024, I contacted Jose about a leak around my skylight after several other companies told me I needed a complete roof replacement. After inspecting the roof, Jose honestly explained that I didn't need a new roof yet, saving me from an unnecessary expense and earning my trust. About 2.5 years laster, I decided I was ready for a new roof, I returned to Jose. He worked with me on pricing, communicated clearly, and provided excellent customer service throughout the entire process. Jose and his crew completed the roof on schedule, worked professionally, cleaned up thoroughly, and did an excellent job. I'm very happy with the results and expect the new roof to last for many years. Jose's honesty and integrity truly set him apart. I highly recommend Roofing Craftsman to anyone looking for quality work and a contractor they can trust. Five stars! read more

Jose and his crew came out to take a look at a long time issue we've had with our roof that we've had two other crews work on over the years. The last atmospheric river almost sunk a visit from some friends as the roof leaked AGAIN... and with another one on the way, we needed to act fast to get this resolved permanently. Very fair pricing on very short notice... written estimate and we're off. Started the next day and reported that there was some dry rot that he would cover under our original estimate... no gouging here... Work was impeccable and clean up was complete... couldn't even tell that work had been done. Attention to detail was high. He replaced a board that was rotted and made sure that he primed the board to ensure that it wouldn't suffer with the upcoming rain. Overall, we're impressed and highly recommend Roofing Craftsman for your roofing needs. They were on time and delivered exactly what they promised on time and on budget. I've attached photos of the replaced primed facia board and the absolutely clean entry that they left after the work (the rest is under our roof tiles, so there's nothing to see there) read more

Jose was great and provided a quote for a tpo or torch down replacement for my roof. He even suggested a silicon barrier which was a cheaper yet viable option that no other contractor I worked with ever mentioned. Communication was good and price was competitive with others I was getting. I did end up going with another bid because they could offer solar at the same time. read more

Jose was very professional, thorough and he and his team completed all the repair and maintenance in one day. Great experience.

Jose provided excellent service. He was very nice and put my mind at ease. I would definitely call them again in the future

Over the years, Jose has both done repairs on our roof and inspected our roof only to discover a non-roof related issue. It feels rare to find someone I can count on to do excellent, reasonably priced work, and whose integrity I fully trust. Plus, Jose's calm demeanor makes him a pleasure to work with. read more

We had an amazing experience with Jose from the quote, to the planning, execution, and follow up. He was quick to come out and give us a quote and options to finance. He responded to all of our questions in a timely manner and helped us with arranging our solar panels to be removed and put back after our new roof. His team worked swiftly to get our roof done in about 5 days! His kindness, knowledge, and professionalism made it easy for my husband and I to sit back and know that we'd be taken care of. Oh my gosh, the Roofing Craftsmen team are FANTASTIC! From the onsite quote to the work, cleanup, and followup, I felt so well taken care of. Jose is completely down-to-earth and straightforward. He listened well to my thoughts, thoroughly answered all questions, and guided me toward making decisions (a combination of TPO and asphalt shingles) that I felt really good about -- no pressure at all. His quote was accurate, although it ended up going a bit over because the team showed me how badly the boards over my garage needed to be replaced, and I am grateful they put in that extra time. Believe me, the additional $3k was significantly less than what would have been the cost of repairing further damage, had I ignored it. Luis, Jaime, and their team were efficient, polite, and very good natured. You know you're getting good craftsmanship when everybody on the team is happy and takes pride in their work. In addition to the roofing, I appreciate how Luis and Jaime communicated regarding what they were doing, and they were super polite when they needed my attention. I loved that they cleaned up at the end of every day -- not all roofers do that -- and Luis did a beautiful job of installing my kitchen sun tunnel. Roofing Craftsmen are certainly not the least expensive, but they really are craftsmen, and a high-quality roof is definitely money well spent = money well saved. Worth every penny. read more

I purchased a fixer-upper in 2017, and time was running out on my roof. I was impressed with how Jose explained what needed to be done and the process. On Day 1, we discovered a few issues, and he was honest about what needed to be done (sheathing over the planks) vs. esthetics (adding gutters). Not once did he try to upsell. While my experience with Jose was great, I want to share that his crew was amazing. They were professional and kind. They left the space surrounding my house better than when they arrived. I wish I could hire them to help me complete my to-do list. read more

Our roof is 24 yrs old. We were on a waiting list with the local roofers for about 6 months. I called Craftsman roofing and the owner came out to the house in a few days and gave us a fair estimate. There was a break in the rainy weather and they came out within 2 weeks. I thought the "demo" would take the entire first day but, with a crew of 6 men on the roof, they took off old the old shingles and started installing the new ones. This included cutting out for for 3 Sun Tunnels we wanted installed. The roofing crew were quick, very dedicated and seemed to enjoy their job. They worked well together and were done in 2 Days. I would recommend them to anyone who needs to re-roof. read more

Jose's Company, Roofing Craftsmen, saved our home this winter season. They responded to a very leaky roof (7 buckets in our kitchen!) by sending a team of guys to patch it on Christmas Eve - a Sunday - in between rain storms, and returned at the first break in the rain to completely replace our roof in 2 1/2 days! The foreman, Eli Ogle, supervised with Ricardo and Chavez heading the team of 7 guys to get the work finished in between winter storms. They replaced our tar and gravel flat roof with heat reflective TPO latex covering which lasts 30+ years. They reshingled our two peaks with Bark colored shingles - also 30 years - which improves the aesthetics of our home. A great team of guys. We could not recommend them more highly! read more

Well, just had these folks do a repair on our roof. They tore off some old roof(actually about 3 roofs...lol) and found multiple points of dryrot. They replaced it with all fresh wood, then all the good roofing materials. They refreshed all the roof vents, and even painted them, including ones they didn't do, just so they all matched. The clean up was great, nothing left behind. Good job guys, and thank you! My wife and I are extremely happy. read more

Hello everyone, I feel like I need to share my great experience on having our roof replaced by " Jose" Roofing Craftsmen inc. Our roofs ( the house , the garage and a tool shed) have been over due for replacement. Several years back ,my husband had a couple roofers came to our house , I met them but I didn't feel like they were the people I wanted them to get the job!! A woman instinct!!! I decided to googled and " Jose" of Roofing Craftsmen inc. caught my attention and the only one. I made a call the next day and get to meet "Jose" in person a few days later. Jose made me feel like he's so easy to work with and a good listener. let me tell you , i'm a very picky person but Jose was very patient with me , he put me at ease by answering all questions I had and explained to me how the job would be done. More importantly I 'm so fussy with colors of the roof and Jose took his time to find more choices for me to choose and I finally found what I was looking for. Beautiful color!! After a couple of meeting with Jose I told my husband " I have made decision to have Jose get the job, I trust Jose " The project had started a couple of weeks later and amazingly finished in 4 days and the results were as my husband and I expect!!!! During the project of replacing our roof in 4 days, we left the house and came back home after they finishing a job of the day and everyday we found our place was neat and clean like nothing happened during the day. Amazing!!! We 're very happy with everything from first start to finish . Super easy contract, plain , short and simple but clear on what the job would be done . Everything is practical . I love it. Thank you so so much , JOSE , JAIME and the great crews ( happy crews) for " THE JOB WELL DONE" read more

Our roof was 22 years old & we are about to go solar, so we decided to get a new roof now. I reached out to 5 or so Roofing Contractors & got bids from each. We decided on Roofing Craftsmen because they were professional, expedient, had many satisfied customers & their price was spot on. Jose & his crew were professional, diligent & friendly. Jose talked to us many times during the process, his crew cleaned up after every day they were done....in 3 days we had our new roof. Roofing Craftsmen are the standard bearers of how a roofing company should be run. Thank you Jose & Crew! Only wished you did plumbing & carpentery too read more

Jose and his Roofing Craftsmen crew just finished installing my new roof. It was a rather large roof and very complicated in that it has many different styles; such as gables, valleys, hips, dormers and hexagonal gazebo to deal with. I was extremely impressed with every aspect of this job. Great attention to detail by Jose, great craftsmanship demonstrated by the installation crew, excellent cleanup, quick and accurate paperwork handling and great follow through. I would not hesitate to highly recommend Roofing Craftsmen to anyone in need of a first class job. Richard read more

If I ever have to get a roof in my lifetime again totally using them. Super responsive, made everything super easy.

These guys are great! I had a couple leaks that appeared after these storms and José came out and informed me of the condition of my roof. They were able to replace my whole roof and gutters fast. They even fixed a few other problems that were discovered during the replacement. It looks great and no more leaks. Thank you guys so much for completing the work fast and getting it done right! read more

I need to apologize this review is way past due. I cannot say enough about Jose and his team of experts that replaced my roof. We had several companies come out in place a bid, it wasn't the cheapest bid but Jose stood out the most with his thorough inspection and communication. Now we were worried due to our roof being not only the original roof from the late 60's but we had a lot of dry rot on top of that it had been double shingles, so we were about what they would find and nervous it would drive the estimate way up but let me tell you they removed all the dry rot without cutting any corners and did it the most cost effective way that stayed within our budget! You can tell that Jose treats his team well and in return they do outstanding work even the inspector complimented their work! Amazing job I love my roof all my neighbors even love it and talked about how fast and efficient they worked! Thanks again Jose! 10 STARS! From start to finish even shot me some pictures using a drone amazing read more

A great roofing contractor - highly recommended. Jose is responsive, knowledgeable and gives reasonable price. Jose and his crew are great! Jose came out and gave a free estimate after a thorough investigation into two leaks that we've been having. Once I decided to go with them his crew came the very next morning and got the job done within a few hours just like he said they would. His crew was very professional and careful. They even fixed an additional problem they found while working without charging me. I'll definitely use them again in the future if I have more issues with my roof. read more

I usually don't make recommendations, but I suggest that folks consider Roofing Craftsmen. I contacted ~8 companies for quotes, and I thought that Roofing Craftsmen were one of the better companies out there that people should consider. After dealing with a couple of contractors who tried to use high pressure sales tactics, were late for our meeting, gave low ball verbal quotes (never putting their quotes in writing), or had negative reviews or active complaints with the Better Business Bureau it was nice to meet the Roofing Craftsmen Company Owner Jose who came by and gave us a very fair and reasonable quote. We ended up working with another company, but I have no problem recommending that folks consider getting a quote from Jose. I plan to keep his contact information and share it with family and friends that may need roofs in the future. Steve M read more

Excellent experience! We had our roof and gutters replaced this summer, and are very satisfied! Jose was super easy to communicate with, and his whole crew was professional and friendly. They cleaned up each day (and even did extra clean up for another contractor who did a small job for us but left our backyard littered with nails). His availability was more open than others and his quote was very reasonable. After the job was done, we had a small issue with our downspout gutter; Jose had someone come out within 24 hours to fix it. Highly recommend. read more

Great company, nice workers, reliable, and honest. I had roofing craftsman and two other companies come give me quotes. We had our 25+ year roof replaced by Jose and team before this recent winter in San Pablo and the roof looks and has performed great. The owner Jose Escalante really knows his stuff and gave a fair price for the very high quality of work he and his team does. If I could give 10 stars, I WOULD!!! I reached out to many roofing companies when I bought my first home a month ago and Jose with Roofing Craftsmen was the ONLY company that gave me the quote the day it was promised and it was reasonable! At the time I first reached out, I made the mistake of backing out because I had found another company to do my roof and solar at the same time. I am HUGE on excellent customer service and I ended up backing out again from the other company and reaching back out to Jose. I was almost shy to reach back out because of the fact I basically bailed on him the first time but I am so glad I did. His team came on time both days, were efficient and I could tell they were highly experienced. This was honestly one of the best decisions I have made so far as a first time home buyer. His customer service is top notch and that is what urged me the most to go back to him to have my roof done. LOOK NO FURTHER PEOPLE!! Jose and Roofing Craftsmen is literally IT. If there were more stars to give we would. First, want to thank Jose and his entire team. From the first interaction we had nothing but quality care and top notch customer service. Leah who responded almost immediately to request for bid was polite, friendly and personable. Made you feel like you've known her your whole life. Jose then came out to give an estimate. He was one of 3 contractors I interacted with and head and shoulders above all. On time (actually early), Professional and answered all questions with complete confidence. He also very polite and personable. Once we decided to go with Roofing Craftsman the correspondence kept coming. We had trouble with our Solar Company and that slowed us down but Jose and team very accommodating. Roofing Craftsman even got us in earlier than our scheduled date and we couldn't be happier. Team showed up and knocked it out in a couple days. Cleaned up after each day and no trash or anything left behind. Team was very respectful of our property and we greatly appreciate that. Also want to mention Eli and his professionalism. He was in contact with me keeping me up to date as to where we were and that we needed a change order due to some unforeseen roof issues. Eli handled it and answered all questions and the cost for what was needed to be fixed more than fair. Want to THANK the entire team at Roofing Craftsman, a well oiled machine. We had a slow leak near a vent that was growing larger with every rain storm and another suspected leak. I was having trouble getting any company to call me back, do repair work, or work on composite shingle roofing. This company saved the day. Replied so quickly when we reached out, got the owner out to take a look and estimate within a few days. I was given an estimate for the glaring immediate issues on the spot, and a thoughtful response to the additional issues he noted due to a bad install of the original roof (done by a now out of business company prior to us buying our house). Things were explained in a way that made sense to me and was logical steps to fix the issues. Within a week of the estimate, I got a text asking if the work could be done the next day, and the lead roofer showed up on time and completed the work efficiently and it looks seamless from the street! They provided pictures of the progress which I appreciate since I couldn't view the work in progress. The owner showing up mid job to check in gave me peace of mind that it was all being done correctly and we were being taken care of. We will be using them for additional repairs, and when the time comes, roof replacement. read more
