I was very happy with the price and result when Carlos installed my roof about 5-8 years ago. While up there last week to look at the chimney, I noticed 2 places, each about 2"x6", with clear manufacturer defect (one had no aggregate and the other had exposed fiberglass). Carlos came out today and replaced those sections. He also removed an unused Dish antenna. He noticed that mastic over nails holding the cover where the ridge cap sections come together had weathered and might not be tight - so he placed a patch over them. All for no charge. None of this could be claimed as warranty work. Carlos is just a good contractor who takes care of his customers long after the job is done. BTW, when the original work was done, the contract stated that if any sheathing needed replacement that would be an extra charge. As best I remember, two full sections of sheathing were replaced - but there was no extra charge. Carlos is the kind of contractor we all hope to find but rarely do. read more

Truly outstanding service. The company was recommended by our solar PV contractor (Ambrose Solar) and did a complete roof replacement for the main house, well house and detached garage including moving some of the vent pipes for PV panel placement, adding some vents that were needed, complete gutter replacement, leaf guards on the gutters, installation of a skylight and solar tube. They also replaced several boards/wood pieces that had dry rot. That in 4 days! The team arrived promptly by 8am every morning and where very efficient...they all appeared to know exactly what they were doing. Pedro was great as was Carlos, and willing to make minor adjustments here and there where needed. The workers also cleaned up every evening before they left which was important for our Great Dane to not get nails in her paws. And special thanks to Cecelia for keeping us informed in a most pleasant manner. After they left I walked around the house and up on the roof inspecting the work which all was very professionally done. Thank you for using screws instead of nails on the flashings and downspout mounts and painting over them to match. And, the price was great, a couple thousand below the three other bids I received. Yeah, well us either until now - every business could take lessons from the owner, Carlos. He clearly has his team knowing what is important and they take it to heart. Every business should be run this well. In asking my husband in all his years of business if he ever experienced anything like this, his reply was no. I knew I had never, but was just convinced that was just the way it was - every business giving you about 75%, if you're lucky. We had a concern about the flow of a gutter after our first rain, and not only did Carlos come to "fix the problem" the solution wasn't going to look good, so he called my husband (like he did every time from arriving on the job, to absolutely any question) and gave a different solution and did not charge more. I had a scheduled solar installation planned. I wanted to do some roof repairs prior to install. I'm a property manager and wanted to choose a contractor who would stand behind their work and provide professional service. CUL was the third bid and they were $800 less than the other two companies recommend by friends to replace a asphalt shingle roof on a 1,100 sq house. I called their reference and they were singing their praises. I wish more people would write reviews. They showed up on time and completed the job very professionally. About 5 hours later, I had a brand new 30 year rated roof. Carlos has both liability and worker's comp insurance. I won't use anyone without it. The Sunday before Christmas when a moderate storm came through Suisun, my husband discovered a leak in our bedroom ceiling. Monday morning, I called a couple of different roofing companies (one a larger company), not sure if I'd hear from anyone. Well, Tuesday morning Carlos called me and made an appointment to come out and take a look that day. After inspecting our roof (tile, 22 years old), he gave me two quotes - one to fix the immediate problem and one to fix all of our roof's issues. The quote to fix all of these problems (given the pending El Nino) was too good to pass up. He came out the next day and in the course of 3 hours fixed every loose and cracked tile, replaced missing tiles, removed debris, and took care of every spot on our roof where water might intrude, along with cleaning the gutters. About a week and a half later, my daughter reported feeling a drop of water from her bedroom ceiling. I called Carlos at 4 p.m. His lovely assistant called me back and Carlos went out that evening to take a look given our first El Nino storm was scheduled to come that night. Thankfully, everything looked fine (my husband & I agree that everything looks dry). The storm hit @ 2 a.m. This morning we checked our bedroom and my daughter's bedroom ceiling and everything was completely dry. Oh, oh, the first winter storm of '14 indicated we had a problem with our roof. Carlos of Cost U Less Roofing was referred to us, and we couldn't have asked for better service. Carlos arrived on time for the estimate. He first viewed the interior damage then carefully accessed the roof. After showing the problem area with the use of photos on his phone, he informed us he had managed to stop the leak, however the area would require new felt in that particular area.
