I reached out to Green Group Remodeling after buying a home that had a shower pan leak and a tub not up to code. All the contractors I spoke to, recommended that we replace the shower and tub. We got a reasonable bid to remodel the whole master bath from Adam, but compared to other contractors, Adam was the most detailed and organized. He had all the paperwork and scope of the job written down. He said he can start 2 weeks after we signed a contract, that was on time. And would take 3-4 weeks to finish the job, that was also on time even with some work scope changes we found during the remodeling. Adam accompanied us while picking tile and vanity, making sure what we were ordering is in stock and arriving before work starts. While remodeling the bathroom, I asked Adam to replace leaky gutters. We recently completed a master bathroom remodel using Green Group. Kim was our project manager. She was just super for the initial consultation. She listened to our vision of the bathroom, understood perfectly, shared suggestions, and promptly sent a quote for the work that was clear and detailed and at a price we felt was very reasonable. We have done several remodeling projects in our current home and have had great results but have not been satisfied with the lack of communication and organization. We wanted to have a bar area built in an empty room in our home and reached out to several contractors. They were quick to come out, but slow to get us a quote if they even provided one at all. I've worked with Ben from Green Group and he was absolutely amazing ! When we bought our house a year ago, we knew it would need a complete renovation down the line. After a bit of prodding from my partner, we decided to take the first step into making our house a home that we can uniquely say is ours. Without a doubt in my mind, I highly recommend Ben to you for all construction needs! Ben and green group remodeling added to my newly bought house in Berkeley hills a room addition of 550 sqf total. We used Green Group to do a major repair/remodel to a house in Walnut Creek totaling over $500k. During the project the communication was very good and we were happy with the progress of the work and the workmanship. The house remained vacant after the project was finished fully paid for, due to the death of the owner. Several months passed and we were readying the house to be sold and discovered that the sewer pipe to the street was completely blocked. I was surprised to discover this since the remodel included redoing three bathrooms and two kitchens so one would assume the showers, sinks and toilets were all tested with water for leaks. The sewer is such that this water would not have drained to the street. We were not informed that there were any problems with the sewer draining properly. I will give them the benefit of the doubt on this. There have been a few items that needed to be fixed (disconnected heater ducting, fixtures hung incorrectly, grout falling out, etc) that we recently discovered, but the responsiveness from the contractor has been very poor. They did finally send someone to repair these items but not without numerous calls made. I had a very positive review of this contractor during the project but they have detracted from that based on their poor responsiveness since completion while their work was still under their California Statutory Warranty of one year. read more

We had a great experience working with Jacob, and wanted to highly recommend him! Although we ended up not pursuing the specific project we were discussing, I still wanted to leave a review for how thoughtful, kind and helpful Jacob was throughout the estimation process. We had an extremely complicated project in which we inherited an approved permit from the previous homeowners, but the previous permit drawings had a lot of problems and missing info (eng/structural/plumbing etc), meaning it was very difficult to work out how to do the project. Despite all these complications, Jacob was committed to looking for a way to make it work, visiting our property multiple times to analyze structural or plumbing issues, and always very respectful and COVID-safe wearing a mask. He quickly understood our vision for the project, spent hours on the phone breaking down costs both in the contract and for estimated finished materials, and was just so helpful. We were new to the home renovation process and first-time homeowners and really appreciated this thoughtful, patient approach. I'm usually hesitant about writing reviews but these Yelp reviews were very essential for me when I selected a GC; so I hope others will find this useful. My experience with Green Group was in no way 5 stars worthy and the only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because even at the worst points our Project Manager Jacob remained respectful and did his best to make us happy. Jacob was also pretty flexible as we had numerous changes to the original statement of work. The biggest issues with our remodel (laundry, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, fireplaces etc) included and weren't limited to permit issues, poor project management, mediocre subs, overpromising and under delivering and poor workmanship. In the end the finished product wasn't horrible but that's probably because we had to complain about the standard of work and numerous fixes had to be done. We had a fantastic experience with Green Group, even with all the expected kind of supply chain hiccups that most businesses are feeling these days. We did a lot of research on contractors in the East Bay/Bay Area, and got bids from three. While Green Group was not the "cheapest", we went with them... And I'm really glad we did. Matan Schejter was our Project Manager and we worked with a crew lead by the foreman, Saul. HUGE props to a team that was in our home for the duration of our bathroom remodel (as we're working from home) and felt like they weren't even there most of the time. The process of working with Mat and Saul was honest, up-front, customer friendly and great for all levels of renovation experience (we had none and needed all the advice we could get). With a few hiccups for tiles and fixtures that weren't able to be secured in a timely fashion (the vendor, not Green Group's fault), the crew of Alex, Brian and Omar went above and beyond to be productive on every item they could while we sorted out fixture challenges. During the renovation project, we also had a leak in our ceiling that the team tackled as well, with no complaints and incredible expertise. When the vanity was mounted in a space that was just a few inches too far to the left, they moved it with no complaint -- they wanted to make sure we were happy with everything from top to bottom. I can't say enough wonderful things about Saul and his crew. Friendly, respectful, clean and FAST. We had a few learning curves with our permitting for the county, and Green Group stepped up to help us resolve with little hassle on our part. I've already recommended Green Group to friends and I have already planned to use them on another upcoming project. Advice for renovation newbies: work with their designer, Sarah, if you don't have an idea of what you're looking to do. If you already know, Sarah's great to help you source items you may already know you want and she'll be a great go-between for the PM and the crew to bring your vision to life.
