I went here a few months ago to get my oil changed. I thought everything was fine, but I just had my dad inform me of a few issues he found after these "professionals" worked on my car. The first thing he noticed is the cap for the oil drain was hardly put on- whoever worked on my car apparently forgot to tighten it which could have really damaged my car. Shouldn't these people know how to fully complete their jobs since I'm sure they do this everyday? I would think so. Also, I got tricked into paying for the synthetic, more expensive oil. I should have been informed of his expensive it was BEFORE the work got done, but I wasn't so when I went to pay, I was fairly upset that the oil change was about $30 more than I originally planned. My dad also informed me that even though they supposedly used the better oil, they told me that I should come in for another oil change at 3,000 miles when that oil should last for AT LEAST 5,000 miles, if not more. Either they don't have any idea what they are doing at this place or they are just trying to scam me out of another $60? Either way, I will NOT be coming back here and unless you know cars and how to check the work these people do, I wouldn't recommend you coming here either. read more

I usually go to Jiffy Lube and was tired of their slow, expensive and pushy services. I decided to try out Grease Monkey for an oil change, and I was very happy! Not only were they super fast (only 20 minutes for everything, and no delay in getting me started!), but honest and trustworthy. They did not try and push any extra sales or upgrades on me, unlike the pushy people at Jiffy Lube, and they were extremely cheerful and fun to work with. Plus, they really do have donuts and snacks in their waiting room! I will definitely take my cars here for all future oil changes and checkups. read more

After years of going to various Jiffy Lubes simply out of proximity, and always being irritated by long wait times and constant up selling, I decided to give Grease Monkey a shot. These guys are great. Speedy service (I was in and out in 20 minutes) and super friendly, well beyond courteous. Bonus: a clean waiting area stocked with donuts, cookies, coffee, and a cooler of assorted drinks. I have very little knowledge about cars and the guys are always teaching me new things about my car, willing to have me in the garage area and explaining things very thoroughly! These guys were so awesome!!! Got my oil changed at the Toyota dealership in Edmonds and come to find out they didnt even out my oil cap back on!!! All of the oil spilled onto my engine and my car broke down!! I was able to make it to the grease monkey and the guys working there were super helpful and quick and cleaned out the oil and topped me off without asking for a dime! In short: Supreme customer service made a bad situation amazing. In length: My wife went in with our two-year old child to get an oil change that appeared online to be $24.99. She came back with a $200 bill for a variety of services I felt were unnecessary. I called them to express my displeasure with the bait and switch. Syd was very professional as I essentially accused his team of taking advantage of the customer. Without going into specifics, Syd more than rectified the situation. I am very grateful for his approach to problem resolution. Their prices are clearly posted on the sign in the store. The waiting room is very clean and the workers are professional. I recommend that consumers become aware that many cars will require oil that is far more expensive than the $24.99 option. Also, be prepared for the mechanics to find elements of the car for which they recommend additional servicing. Thus, before you take your car in here, I think it is important to be informed about what maintenance your car likely needs and the prices for this maintenance. That way you can spend what you feel comfortable with on the maintenance you believe you should have. Summary: I would recommend Grease Monkey for their customer service, professionalism, and reasonable price provided you are informed about the actual prices and what services you need. read more

My 2006 Toyota Corolla needed an oil change. I new I needed to replace air and cabin filters so I started at O'Reilly and purchased those and installed them myself. Drove to Grease Monkey on 25th NE and NE 55th, honked twice for a $15 discount as that is the current ad on TV. Intake guy, took my service record and I was shown a price of $43.99 for the standard LOF. I asked if that $15 discount would apply and I got a shrug of the shoulders. Guy # 2, evaluation guy, explained the status of my car that everything looked good and I would receive the standard LOF. My car would be serviced, vacuumed and windows washed. I would get the $15 off special. Guy #3, cashier, showed the cost at $44.99. I explained guy #1 quoted $43.99 and did that include the $15.00? Guy #3 said he did not know about the TV offer but I insisted and it was deducted from my bill. Service was less than 10 minutes and next time I will be persistent on any TV offers or coupon specials. When you live on a very fixed income every penny counts. So my advice is to go in to Grease Monkey fully prepared to get what you deserve. read more

Got a flat on the way to work with both my kids in the car. Even though these guys were super busy with a bunch of cars in line, they stopped what they were doing, jacked up my car, and put on the spare. Then, when it got low again the next day, they put air in it and told me where to get it fixed (they don't sell tires). I haven't found a go to automotive/ oil change place till now!!! But not only are they efficient but helpful in the fact that they got me to understand what was happening with my car in terms that I would understand (I am obvious to cars)!! What is also great about them is that their price point isn't too bad either, as well you can grab a coupon from them either on their website or those Valpak things. I went in expecting just an oil change but they checked the fluids and the told me that the power steering and brake fluids were slightly discolored. As I was driving to Pullman from Seattle the following day, I decided to go ahead and have them do it. They did not push me to make that decision. It's in the neighborhood but I hadn't stopped until today, now I doubt I'll ever go anywhere else for an oil change. Their price sheet is upfront and a super square deal. Only place I know that does full transmission fluid flush which I like because I tow stuff. I don't think my mechanic (pacrim auto) even does. Pleasant waiting space, fast efficient non hard sell environment. Was in/out for that and oil in 35 minutes. I was in a rush and forgot to tip the guys, will catch up next time. I took my daughter's car here to get the fluids and wiper blades checked a few months after she had moved to Seattle to attend UW. I was surprised at how courteous and affordable this place was. The employees were so polite and respectful. Not what I would normally expect from mechanics, especially being a woman. They checked and filled the fluids, and put on new wiper blades that we had purchased elsewhere, all at no charge. Flash forward to a year later, my daughter went there tonight for an oil change. She needed a brake check and they told her a tire rotation was $20, and included a brake check. After determining she didn't need a tire rotation, they checked her brakes for free. It is so nice to know there is an honest, friendly place my daughter can go to get her car serviced. It is hard being so far away from her (we are in San Diego) but it is a relief to know there is a nice, professional group of people in Seattle to help make sure her car is in good shape! read more

The people that work here are just so unbelievably nice. They helped me when my car kept dying, checking my batteries charge for free. And then I had a flat, and they don't have tires here but they helped me figure out a towing company and a tire place to get towed to. Then gave me coffee and tea and let me wait in their lobby. This is a decent place to get your oil change along with assorted other accessories. However, they do tend to up sell and put subtle pressure on you to do more. Also the projection prices mostly say "from ..." which for me is always a signal that the negotiated price will suck you in and charge too much. Went to get my oil changed at this location about a week ago and they couldn't just change the oil, they had to try and sell me something at the end and that's not even what my issue is, I get you gotta up sell and make money for the shop BUT to be told I had NO transmission fluid???? That's absolutely insane! Did they just see a woman and think, idiot because if I did in fact have NO transmission fluid my car would not move. It's so disappointing to be treated like I don't anything. Had they actually been paying attention and wanted to be helpful they could have told me my headlight needs to be replaced. I have dealt with everything to rebuilding a previous cars engine (as in me under the hood with my step dad) to needing a new transmission!! So next time you see a woman don't automatically assume she doesn't know about her car!! And by the way I have to take my car to the Nissan dealership because my make and model of car has a seal for my transmission fluid that only the dealership should take off. I will never go here again, even if it is close to work and convenient. read more
