Update dec 2017 Ok so I was with friends and they said let's give this place another try. They've been opened for quite some time. Maybe it's good. So. Unfortunately I stand by my initial review. I tried to just get a drip coffee but they don't have that (or pour over) but they said they'd make me an americano. Ok. For a tall it was a little over $3.50. Still tasted burned. Ordered my kids hot cocoa (they're 10 and 12) Asked them to please make HOT. They were barely luke warm. When I asked to make again they said they would but they'd have to fix the people's orders in front of me. Ok. 10 minutes later. Oops we forgot. LAST time I'll be back. I've been going to what was City Perk for several years, and while I was sad to see one of my favorite coffee places go. I was also excited to try something new. Now I can say that I've tried it and say that I won't be a return customer. The two gals that worked in there were friendly enough, but the actual coffee tasted burned and watered down (likely by the entire cup being filled with ice) I guess when I thought about having an iced mocha it would be cold not just a giant cup of ice with a little mocha on top. And to top it all off the price was $5.45 for a grande iced mocha. Same drink at Starbucks is only $5.05 and I know that it's isn't $.40 difference but I consider Starbucks to already be over priced. read more

I really enjoy gravity coffee. However, I give this specific location three stars simply because of the customer service. The customer service is so inconsistent and it has been that way since they opened. The girls can either be really sweet or super rude, there really is no in-between. I'm also not much of a fan for the prices but the coffee is good none the less. read more

There was hair in my blended coffee! Two hairs actually. I was halfway through my drink when I felt something weird in my mouth. Found hair #1. Thought ew gross! But probably it was just a weird fluke. Also I paid like $8 for this drink so I'm not tossing it. Kept drinking and then sucked up another hair through the straw! What!? I was already long gone when I had this unfortunate discovery but the next time I went in to order a drink, I told two of the baristas there about it and they were not even apologetic and they didn't even comp me on my new drink. I don't live that close to maple valley so I don't come here often. But Karoline told me about this place so I wanted to come check it out & it was really great, love all the workers there because they are so genuine. It's very modern & cozy inside which I love, so now I found my new study spot! because of how great the customer service was, the drive there is completely worth it & I'll be coming in more!!! Just to add a few things, Kare and Jessica are the best baristas that I know of. Still tryina figure out which one of them makes better coffee, but it might just be too close to tell. They also have free high speed WiFi which is way faster then what my 4g hotspot can offer, but I do have t-mobile too so idk. read more

Coffee is good, energy drinks are great, workers are friendly but they are soo slow! The drive thru line always takes forever and has a poor layout so theres always a merging line coming from 3 different directions. Never had any issues before COVID, aside from the drinks being expensive. Most places have adapted really well to COVID shutdowns... not Gravity. They have the store completely closed except for the drive-thru. Anyone and everyone has to go through the drive-thru, order only once they get to the window, then wait and pay at the same window. At least let Doordashers or online orders go inside, this is ridiculous. read more

The other day I ordered a breve latte and the lady made the drink and said you just want cream in your americano? I've been going to Gravity Coffee for a few months now, and I am very impressed. The lounge inside is warm and very cozy making it a great place to meet up with friends. I really appreciated how clean the place was as well. The girls and service is even better. Caroline's 32oz Reese's shake was the best shake I have ever had there. She told me that she was in training, but the shake was as if a Manager made it. Caroline always has a positive attitude making my visits to Gravity in Maple Valley a time of my day to look forward too. Jessica is another employee that deserves some recognition. She always has the cutest smile and has been always friendly giving me service with a smile. I always see Jessica and Caroline at night when I get my Reese's shake and they never dissapoint. In fact, they blow my expectations out of the water. I've seen some bad reviews for this place and I don't know why. I get that the world is unkind and not willing to see new things and new talent. Our first experience with Gravity Coffee was by accident. We had DoorDashed lunch and the driver said that a drink order had been cancelled and asked if we'd take them. Sure! And now we're hooked. NO REFUNDS. Not one single mention on the menu of this "no refunds" policy. Coffee full of grounds and disgusting? Well, you have to accept another coffee (or a "you can only spend it at Gravity" 'gift' card for a coffee later) because we are keeping your money. $3 stolen from me by a business - and if I stole from them, I'd go to jail. Yeah, businesses are people. Previously they hideously screwed up our coffees and then bait-and-switched us into an upsell when we came back for a refund, never mentioning this "NO REFUND" policy. Took $6.50 for the messed up order and another $4 when they pulled the bait-and-switch-instead-of-refund. So about $15 stolen by Gravity failures and policy. Peace of mind destroyed by being repeatedly RIPPED OFF by a business. BBB and court are my next steps. You thieves need to be honest and put NO REFUNDS on your menu or start giving refunds when you fail in a cup and call it coffee. read more

Ok, so, I literally was so curious about this coffee shop / company. I've seen them spring up all over the south end of Washington and now that their in Maple Valley, we heard about their grand opening and decided to check it out tonight. We arrived and was greeted with blasting techno, and the mess of a grand opening! It was beautiful remodeled and I won't lie, the vibe was unlike anything in little old Maple Valley. After standing in line, I remember looking over to my husband and noticing a shocked look on his face... I turned back and looked at the counter. The young woman working at the counter (she had HUGE false eye lashes, tons of make up and highlighter on!) she had a whole cup over her ACTUAL hand and was writing the order on the outside of the cup. I was literally disgusted! I was going to say something immediately but my husband calmed me and we made our way to the front. As she picked up the 16 oz iced cup for my order, she complimented my hand tattoo, slipped my ICE cup over her hand to hold (her hand has fake tanned with acrylic nails that can harbor so many germs!!!!!) as she gripped my cup, hand in, and thumb out, she wrote on it. I said my husband wasn't going to miss out on this germ infested bad hygiene crap, that I made him get a 16 oz iced Americano! At this point I was so appalled, I politely donated to the ALS they suggested and moved down the bar.... At this point I saw the woman on bar pumping out drinks. She was thinner with black hair, asked if it was our first time and I wanted to call attention to all the head code violations I saw going on but I was so appalled, I had to sit down on their little couch setting off to the side. Once our drinks were called, we got them and left! I am disgusted with what I saw with the hand INSIDE the cup, the mess and I understand it's a grand reopening but this is UNREAL, gross!!!!!!!!!!! Needless to say, coffee flavor was ok. Americano was solid, and their roast is definitely pleasant. The on tap Red Bull, neon shade drinks are a little much but that's what is popular out here on the mainland I'm learning! Lotta negativity surrounding this spot - purely because they took over City Perk I went in today after being hesitant from all the drama off the transition and chatted a bit with the barista that was there - got a white chocolate americano and honestly I really liked it! It wasn't too sweet and had a good ratio of white mocha powder to espresso/water. My drink didn't taste bland it was just subtle which I prefer over the overly sweetens sugar coffee other places push They're going through a remodel ( should have a grand opening in like 4 weeks ) so obviously you wouldn't sit down and read a book in an empty store it def us that in construction vibe but looking into other locations I'm excited to see what they're going to do with the space! I have heard about the craze for this new coffee bar. I've been there twice. The coffee has a good rich flavor. There are so many choices on the menu that ever can find something. Prices are higher than most coffee places. My daughter has been wanting to try gravity for awhile. She always gets an iced white chocolate Americano when she goes to a coffee stand. She said her drink was good but didn't feel it was up to par with all the rave reviews she had heard from other students. She still prefers Beauty and the Beans in Covington for her favorite Americano for a south end espresso stand. read more

As a former partner that has grown a love for Starbucks (and a shareholder at that) I tend to stick with Starbucks coffee. Sometimes Starbuck's hours and mine don't work well together so I'm forced to go somewhere else unless I want to put the effort into making my own coffee at home. Before they opened, I had heard a little bit of a buzz of excitement over Gravity coming into town. Their niche, it seems, is an energy drink. I don't drink energy drinks, but now I've gone to Gravity a handful of times. Typically I go through the drive-through as it's a visit after my workout and I don't like going in anywhere all sweaty. The girls are generally friendly through the window and very patient with my lack of knowledge of their products, and even more patience with my post-workout, endorphine fueled rambling. The visit that sold me with the espresso was when I couldn't decide on a flavor that I wanted to put in my coffee, as I typically do, so I decided to just have a plain americano. It was fantastic! The coffee was so smooth. The shots were full of flavor that seemed naturally sweet with the expected bitter of coffee flavor. They tasted like they were perfectly timed and had no room to expire. The flavor was so earthy and bold that I just couldn't seem to get enough. I finished it and wanted more by the time I got to work! Last week I had to go inside, which I hadn't done since before the remodel. The music was a little louder than I would like if I had decided to go in there for conversation with a friend, but that wasn't what I was in there for with this visit. The decor was clean, modern and inviting - there were several spots in the room that I would absolutely be comfortable with having to sit in. It's in my nature now to automatically go to a Starbucks when they're open, but I'll definitely return to Gravity time and time again.
