What a cute little place that is located right inside of a complex and is bordered up next to Trader Joe's. Once you walk inside that a decor is pretty cute and very stylish. This place has great breakfast and looks like awesome pastries and has a bunch of people coming to in and out, so you know it was actually very well like spot. You don't need a code to get into the bathrooms at all. They are free access to customers. As well as the place looks very clean and organized. Once you order, you can then pick out a table and sit down and they bring out the drinks and the food to the table. We ordered a bacon avocado Benny and my sister ordered a croissant Benny and we decided to share the Madrid crêpe. Pictures are attached and they look like pieces of art and tasted spectacular. I'm giving four stars due to some of the noise of the blenders and the pounding of something in the kitchen made it very hard to talk at times with my sister. But if there was no super loud noises and I couldn't hear my sister talk from across the table. It would've got five stars all day. Other than that great service great food. I always avoided this place because ever since it opened all I heard was critiques. Decided to come here on a day out with my mom and give it a try, even though I wasn't too optimistic. I will definitely be coming here again! There are a lot of options for food which can be a little overwhelming. However, it is VERY reasonably priced. $15 for a toast is wild but that's how cafes price things everywhere. However, other cafes smear some avocado on toast and add a tomato and charge you $15, here they give you a whole meal with an egg on top, cucumbers and tomatoes, avocado, and more. It actually feels like it's worth your money. The coffee is good even though it's not too unique. I feel like they used to be a specialty coffee shop before they turned to the crepe/cafe scene. The coffee was very sweet though so I would highly recommend getting it half sweet. The crepe is good, stuffed well and worth the price. It is obviously sweet as well so it's hard to drink a very sweet coffee with a sweet crepe. The barista was kind and helpful with any questions I had when ordering. There was gentleman with a disability ordering before me and the barista was very patient and kind when taking his order. The decor in here is very cute with comfortable chairs. There are no servers so order first and then find a seat. I ordered the avocado toast and the Dulce de Leche Crepe. The crepe was delicious and had just the right amount of sweetness. Not too rich, but still very satisfying, strawberries tasted fresh too. For the avocado toast, the avocado topping was fresh and flavorful, but the crust on the avocado toast was very hard, which made it difficult to eat at first. My brother sat down with the kids while we were next in line to order. They made him get up as we were still in line to order. This is horrible customer service. I went here on a visit when I was in Washington. Very cute little spot with friendly employees. The drinks were fabulous and tasted wonderful, as well as the food being picture perfect and delicious. This place is our favorite. Our go to when we want a quick delicious breakfast. One thing I would say is, if this is your first time here: ORDER FIRST THEN GET A SEAT. They have a sign at the cashier but people like to pretend they cant read. It's not fair for the people who wait in line to order then can't get a seat because theres people who like to come and take a seat without ordering first. People like my family, eat then bounce. I came into Sweet Notes Café on May 17 around 12:12 PM with a friend after church. A young girl in a gray sweater working the register helped us. Since it was our first time there, we weren't familiar with the ordering process or menu. I didn't want to hold up the line trying to decide what to order, so I asked if we could sit down first and look over the menu. She cleaned off a table for us, but then told me I needed to hurry up and order because she didn't want other people getting upset about how long it would take me to decide. I didn't respond and simply waited until we were ready to order, which only took about four minutes. What confused and upset me was that shortly after, a white man came in and she told him he could sit down, take his time, and order whenever he was ready because "it's not busy." The difference in treatment was very noticeable and honestly made me uncomfortable as an African-American woman. Maybe this was a misunderstanding, but the interaction did not sit right with me. I believe every customer should be treated with the same patience and respect, especially first-time customers who are simply trying to understand how the restaurant works. Im a bit sad to write this review because I had a much better experience the first time I visited Sweet Notes Cafe. Unfortunately, the quality and attention to detail didn't seem to be there this time. I ordered the Ube Matcha Latte, but there was no noticeable ube flavor or color--it just tasted like a plain matcha latte. When I asked the server about it, she said that's just how they make it, which was disappointing. There was no real difference between the Ube Matcha and a regular Matcha Latte. The ham, egg, and cheese croissant was also underwhelming--the egg was completely off-center, so I had to adjust it myself. Additionally, someone in my party ordered a Chai Latte with two shots of espresso, but after tasting it, it was clear there was no espresso in it, despite paying extra for the shots. What's frustrating is that we visited during a non-busy time, so the lack of attention to detail in both food and drinks was surprising. If the fun, specialty drinks aren't going to be flavorful or made correctly, you might as well stick to the plain options. Unfortunately, this visit was a letdown. read more

We have stopped in here multiple times for coffee and a treat to go. Never has this place seemed smoothly run, but we chalked it up to being new. Everything we got was tasty so we kept giving it another try. Today we went in and ordered cold brew coffees to go. After more than an hour of absolute chaos and being assured multiple times that our coffees were being made "next" we left with no coffee. I couldn't even get our money back because the chaos was so complete at this point they had abandoned the cash register and order taking. I feel terrible for the workers here, several of them seemed near tears. read more

This cafe is soooo cute! I love pink and this place has so much pink in it! I love it! I've been here several times and I think the only downside is that often times I find that the young ladies at the register are just a little aloof. They don't really engage with the clients and look like they're not very happy being there. Customer service is super important! The food is really good and I do enjoy their coffee as well! Visited on a Wednesday afternoon and it was packed, despite it being an hour before close. Servers/cashier did not seem too thrilled about me visiting around that time. Well, except one who was serving my waffles. I ordered a Banana 4 U Matcha and a Banana Foster Waffle. Matcha was seasonal and wasnt as bitter as I hoped it would be. Tasted subtly sweet instead. Banana Foster was not overly sugary and the waffles were fluffy. Generous pieces of waffles, could not finish and had to box it to eat for another day. Overall, I still recommend for a quick treat. Sweet Notes Cafe is a cutesy, sister-owned cafe in Kent that's definitely giving Instagram vibes. I came here for a quick lunch and coffee with a family member, and had a good experience! As mentioned, this is one of the best spots in the Kent area if you're looking for aesthetic vibes. Lots of pink, floral, etc. Service was also kind and quick. I got the Sweet Notes Latte (very good!) alongside the Harty Turkey Sandwich, which comes with mayo, turkey breast, havarti cheese, tomato (nixed that though), lettuce, and avocado on wheat. Anything with turkey and havarti is gonna be an immediate yes for me, and I'm so glad I chose it because it was delicious! Ingredients tasted incredibly fresh, they were generous with portions, and the bread was soft. 10/10! I've been visiting this café for about a year and a half. My first experiences were fine, but the last two visits were really disappointing. The main issue is cleanliness -- the chairs and floors are always dirty, even early in the morning when there are hardly any customers. Many reviews mention this problem, but the owners haven't reacted or made any improvements for at least the past six months. The chairs are still in terrible condition, and nothing changes. During one of my recent visits, there was an incident with a young Spanish-speaking girl at the counter. We asked to have our order "for here" instead of "to go," since a table had just opened up. She rolled her eyes and looked clearly annoyed -- that kind of attitude leaves a bad impression. Prices are also unreasonably high. Two coffees, two sandwiches, and one slice of cheesecake cost us nearly $100 -- much more than many cleaner and nicer cafés in Seattle or Bellevue. Also, during our last visit, there was no latte art on the coffee -- a small detail, but it makes the experience feel special, and it was disappointing not to see it. I'm giving two stars only because the food tastes great and some of the staff (possibly Russian- or Ukrainian-speaking, though I'm not sure) were polite and kind. I truly hope the owners will take the time to look at the photos attached to this review and finally start paying attention to cleanliness and customer feedback. I honestly don't recommend this café to anyone. Yes, the food is tasty and some staff are polite, but everything else -- the dining area, the furniture, and the overall cleanliness -- is in terrible condition. For the same price, you can go downtown or to Bellevue, enjoy much better food in a clean, pleasant, and comfortable place where you don't have to worry about getting your clothes dirty just by sitting down. read more

I've been meaning to try Sweet Notes out since it opened, but alas, they close early and I haven't made it in until now. During a very long day at work, I decided to snag myself a portobello sandwich for lunch. I opted to order online so I could just run in and bring it back to my desk. My order was ready by the time I got there (~15min) and I was sent on my merry way. One thing I noticed was they didn't ask about salad dressing when I was placing my online order. I figured I have some in the fridge so it doesn't really matter. They gave me a balsamic vinaigrette, and I very generous portion at that! The sandwich was lovely - plenty of veggies on a really good, lightly toasted bread. I found the sandwich to be super filling, so I basically got a large lunch and a salad for snacking later for $18. Not a terrible deal. I really like the fact that there was no iceberg lettuce to be found! This is a hidden gem tucked into a strip mall next to Trader Joe's. Order the food from the counter before seating yourself. Menu has included gourmet beverages, crapes, soups, salads and pastries. Finally choose the savory crape. The initial taste is sweet crape flavor followed by savory flavors of meat and cheese. Unfortunately the flavors do not blend well. I decided on an almond croissant and it was just ok as I wish it was a bit sweeter. I did however love the pink/gold decor. It's the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee and pastry. I've driven by Sweet Notes Cafe numerous times while visiting Trader Joe's. Finally had the chance to stop in for breakfast on a Saturday morning. It wasn't busy when we arrived, a bit past 8, but had picked up closer to 9. You order at the counter and we got a few things to share: Benny avocado toast, ham & egg croissant, and the berry cheese crepe. We each also ordered a hot drink: one latte and a matcha latte. The food came out pretty quickly and we actually were wondering if we were supposed to pick up our drinks at the counter. Nothing was mentioned to us, so we just waited. The benny was good, but it arrived lukewarm-cold which was disappointing since it had come out pretty quick. The croissant sandwich was good and we both liked the crepe. Our drinks arrived about 15 minutes after we ordered them and about 7 minutes or so after the food arrived. The drinks were good and very pretty, so it was definitely a mixed bag. Overall, this is probably about a 3.5 star experience. Food was mostly good, albeit expensive for what you get. I appreciate the latte art, but not at the expense of waiting 15 minutes for them. When we ordered, nothing was mentioned about the dining process and we weren't sure if we were supposed to bus our own table which apparently you don't do.
