My order total ended up to be around $14. First off, the tofu sandwich!! I'm not sure how they used to make it 6 years ago, but now I'd say it is one of the best I've tried. The sandwich came out warm, they sauté the tofu in a sauce, which I'm guessing is oyster sauce and it gives it a lot more flavor. The bread was crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. For the matcha, I was not expecting it to be anything special since it's a boba shop. After taking the first sip, I was shocked on how rich the matcha was and it was delicious! read more

This is my favorite bubble tea shop. I started coming here for the pork banh mi in 2018 when I worked at the Lowe's across the parking lot. Their banh mi always have a large helping of meat coupled with the freshest cucumbers, carrots, jalapeños and other garnishes. Xavia was one of their main employees back then, and has remained a steadfast employee for them. It is always reassuring to see her familiar face and catch up with her. Now, 6 years later I am still coming here to get crispy pork belly banh mi and have started getting the hazelnut milk tea with boba. I haven't drank bubble tea in a long time and wasn't sure what to order. Ngi recommended the hazelnut milk tea with boba and I was not disappointed! I recently became a painting contractor. I don't have an office yet. So Goatea owners Tan & Tran have been incredibly nice and have been letting me use their space to hold interviews and new hire one-on-ones. I have always loved Goatea - and the caramel milk tea is the best boba that I have ever had ever. Went to Goatea for the first time. Their salted thai green tea creama is really good! Definitely recommend if you stop by. Theres also plenty of parking. They had excellent service and were very specific in explaining what went well with the drinks. My family also got a winter-melon tea which was pretty good too!! Ordered via DoorDash . Every time I shop at Lowe's and I'm in the area I've always wanted to try this place. This time I saw on DoorDash. Delivery was fast. The chicken egg rolls were still piping hot and fresh my husband loved it. The bang mi was fresh and tasty. Only problem was the beef was not easy to chew. Next time I'll try the pork bahn mi. I normally order milk tea from other tea places, but decided to try the mango frappe with Maho jelly. Pretty good! Goatea is a Vietnamese boba gem in the Kent--Des Moines community. The drinks are consistently delicious - at least the ones I've tried. I've had several of their 'mojito' style flavors as well as the avocado smoothie with boba. All were delicious, fresh, not made with powder. Try the popping boba! The food is also amazing! Don't sleep on their summer rolls or banh mi. The pork, shrimp, and tofu spring rolls are all generously filled. I love that they add in the pickled daikon and radish in the rolls. The banh mi are also generously filled, with protein, herbs, and a delicious slathering of seasoned mayo. My coworkers and I are a fan. Definitely worth a try. read more

I'm in the area a couple times a year for a volleyball tournament and last year I came in for lunch and had the spring rolls and Tofu Bahn Mi. I have been thinking about the Bahn Mi Sandwich for 8 months and just came back - it's even better than I remembered. The tofu is just lightly fried, the amount of pickled vegetables is just right, the sauce is flavorful but not overwhelming. The bubble teas looked great too but I was too full to try one. This is a cute spot. Shame is it's tucked away by a Lowe's and surrounded by construction atm. Inside is quiet and clean (I hope it's not always quiet and they get busy sometimes!); nice decor and friendly staff. Both of our drinks were delicious and put together prettily. I got the mango/peach smoothie and my spouse got passionfruit tea. We haven't tried much yet which is the only reason waiting on that 5th star. They looked to have a food menu but a part of it was labelled "coming soon" so not sure how much food they have currently. We'd go back. read more

We frequent this place. They offer a variety of milk teas, smoothies and some snacks. I'm not sure they still offer the sandwiches. I usually drink only certain kinds milk teas and rarely venture trying new flavors. I'm just afraid taking the risk, not liking it and it go to waste. The fried spring rolls, fresh spring rolls and mozzarella sticks are good. The fresh spring rolls are pretty huge and worth the price. It's the largest rolls I've seen thus far. I was great because I recently realize I should not be drinking anything from a cow and they offer options for avocado and or soy milk substitutes. Goatea just remodeled and are looking to expand their menu. In the old tradition, I will give them a full review. Pros: Clean shop, newly remodeled Huge parking lot shared with Lowe's Bubble tea and snacks Cons: Traffic from multiple businesses Still expanding (worth the patience) The new menu says they will be doing teriyaki in the near future. I am looking forward to this. For myself, I prefer my milk tea. They serve bubble tea, small snacks, milk tea, smoothies, and a few other items. Earl Grey Milk Tea: Something about it is just amazing. It takes away the bitterness of the tea but still tastes good. It comes out cold as it is served with milk. I am still learning the bubble tea thing but you can add toppings and things as you like. I prefer it plain. Spring rolls: Super quick snack that actually has some flavor. I look forward to how they expand and what the menu does around Asian foods. I am a teriyaki connoisseur. Chicken Tenders: 4 strips for $7 isn't the cheapest in town but for a quick snack, I find it worth the trip. All in all I have been well taken care of when I am a guest there and do stop in on occasion. I will review again once.I expand my horizons into this bubble tea thing. read more

Yet again, another perfect meal in this clean, friendly staffed, awesome eatery. I now believe these people are incapable of making a bad meal. Perfect rice! The OG thai tea is creamy, cool looking deliciousness. The little sauce I got with my meal, I think is some sort of fish sauce, spicy, tangy, excellent for dipping every succulent morsel of expertly cooked beef. The price of everything is reasonable for the area, but cheap considering the portion size and quality. This is based on my first and only visit. I saw this place when we stopped at Lowe's. As for any boba tea place I first try, I go with the standard or house milk tea. I got the Royal Milk Tea (standard black tea) with honey boba, egg pudding, and 75% Sweetness (which stated regular sweetness). It was too sweet for me, but they were kind enough to adjust it. They have a great selection of milk tea flavors and toppings. I used to order boba with my milk teas all the time but now I have been exclusively getting egg pudding. My go-to flavor is always wintermelon. It's so hard to find boba places that have them on their menu. If they do, it's always just the tea, no option to add milk. I also love their popcorn chicken. It reminds me of the ones I had in Taiwan. The staff they have is amazing, too. I mentioned to them that regular milk was no longer on their doordash menu. Stopped by Goatea twice during our stay in Washington, not because it was superb, but because there wasn't much around at the time. We picked up a chicken banh mi the first time, along with a guava bubble tea with mango topping (strange pairing I know - it wasn't my choice :P). While the flavor was in the banh mi, we thought that the chicken was rather dry. The guava tea was mediocre and had a strange taste to it, but I liked the fresh mango shavings. The second time around, I stopped by for a jasmine milk tea with bubbles. It was a tad milky to me (the drink was entirely white), but it tasted okay. All in all, I think the food and drinks can satisfy a craving, but there's room for improvement. read more

Ordered an Oolong Milk Tea with honey boba and Caramel Milk Tea with honey boba, no ice and 100% sugar. Both tasted quite watered down with hardly any sweetness to either. The boba tasted old, sort of mushy on the outside with a harder center, and not with that honey sweetness I get at other places. We've seen this place driving down 99 and after stopping at Dick's one day and wanted to give it a try. I saw their high ratings on Yelp and felt hopeful about Goatea but they really missed the mark on this one. I overheard other people in the store order smoothies and crema drinks, and while those might be good, I don't think we'll be back. Some positives: It's got a cute interior with lovely murals on the walls of their name/logo. The service was also quick and kind, so I didn't have the service issues I've seen in other folks reviews. Whenever I'm in the area I have to get their Green Thai Tea! My first time I had Green Thai Tea was in Cali at Seaside Bakery and I've been looking for a dupe since. This place is the most similar to the one I had in Cali! I've tried this drink at other places in the greater Seattle area and it's not the same. Sometimes I adjust the sweetness level and the flavor is still good! They also have "crunchy" boba. I don't think it was bad -- it just wasn't for me. It's definitely unique and I think it's worth trying! I also get the Durian smoothie and it's good, it's a bit more icy than other places I go to. I love Goatea! Friendly staff and plenty of parking space. I've never gotten their food/snacks so my comment is just merely on their drinks. My personal favorites are the different Thai teas. The regular, hazelnut Thai tea, and Thai green tea. All are so bomb! You cannot find hazelnut Thai tea anywhere else!!! You can find Thai green tea at other places like Cha Time on MLK way but I think Goatea makes it better. Their avocado smoothie and other milk teas are pretty decent also. They also have crystal boba which is nice. It's like a crunchy texture to boba, but it's clear. My sis got a 50% sugar Thai green tea and it taste pretty good still and doesn't change it that much if you're worried about sweetness level. The shop is decent in size. Can come here and study or to hang out with friends. Or even a quick lunch! Very clean and simple wall decorations. Plenty of options on the menu. read more

I usually come here when I get my bubble tea/milk tea cravings & its a couple blocks away from work so it's convinient. I normally order the iced royal milk tea with egg pudding & taste is always consistent. They offer different levels of sweetness (25% 50% 75% 100%) Taste is very decent but nothing really special. I also ordered the banh mi, the bread isn't warmed up. Not too much meat in it either. When you take your first few bites, it seems like you're just eating bread. You can probably ask for extra meat or ask to get it warmed up when you order. Very cute setting (just very hot during summer time because there's no airconditioning) Lots and lots of parking. They also have punch cards to keep track of when you can get a free drink. Customer service is alright, I think they could be more upbeat & friendly but no big deal since they get my order right each time. read more

The bubble tea here is average, nothing spectular but decent. Guess it beats driving to Renton!  Anyways, they are pretty consistent; not too sweet and it doesn't taste artificial. I prefer my tea stronger so I usually go for the flavored teas instead of milk tea. I like their Passion Fruit Tea, Thai Tea and the Salted Crema Tea. I don't think the crunchy boba is worth the extra cost, it's just ok. One of these days I'll have to try their food. There's lots of natural light inside and plenty of parking outside. Service is sometimes slow but I'm not usually in a hurry and IMO the workers should smile more :) read more

Great service and convenient location. (It's in the same plaza as Lowe's, next door to Domino's and Starbucks.) So far we've tried their taro, honeydew and avocado boba. We liked each flavor and appreciate that you have the option to adjust the sugar level. They also have quick bites that are cooked to order. We've tried their boneless chicken and fries. The fries were unseasoned. Even just a slight sprinkle of salt and pepper would've been nice. We liked that it was hot/fresh out of the fryer but we probably wouldn't order it again. read more

I ordered a blueberry green tea with strawberry bits...it was ok but it tasted very perfumey. I would assume its the tea they use? Idk? I wouldn't order it again. My son enjoyed his strawberry banana smoothie, it was much better than the tea. We also ordered food-popcorn chicken, French fries, chicken egg rolls, cheese sticks, and a grilled pork banh mi. It was all just ok. It was edible but I wouldn't order it again at the price point we paid.
