Seattle-Area Boba Shop Review #115 This is one of three Sunright Tea Studio locations in King County and is by far the largest in terms of size. It's the only one that has actual seating and tables, which makes it a much better location to relax in and slowly sip on drinks. We visited on the way down to Portland, hoping to get a caffeine pick-me-up before the long rush-hour fueled traffic on the way down. This location has two kiosks for easy ordering, although in less busy times, the bobaristas are happy to take orders and answer questions. Fragrant really condensed milk and extra cane sugar for sweetness. Slight fruit essence. regular ice on a hot day almost all gone within five minutes. About 3:1 ratio tea to milk Boba great soft yet really chewy and bouncy. Compresses soft layer on outside. Fragrant Oolong Milk Tea, 50% Sweet, Regular Ice, House Milk w/ Brown Sugar Boba ($7.25) - As the name implies, this drink really is quite fragrant, with the somewhat fruity and floral taste that is similar to an osmanthus oolong. It's rich from the addition of condensed milk - in fact, this drink seems to have more dairy in it compared to most boba shops. Watching the bobarista assemble the drink, I saw perhaps a third of the cup filled with milk and condensed milk before adding the tea. I ordered the drink with regular ice and it wasn't nearly enough to survive the hot day - within 5 minutes of pulling out, all the ice was gone. The boba is great. It's soft yet really chewy and bouncy. There's a compressible soft layer right on top that's pleasing on the tongue. I love their drinks. They're the best boba shop I've had in the Federal Way area so far! They have unique add-ons I haven't seen at a lot of tea shops. I especially enjoy their jasmine green tea jelly and that you can substitute honey instead regular sugar. The staff at this location is always friendly and patient which isn't always the case at a lot of tea shops where the staff feels like they think you're an inconvenience to their day. read more

I always love the vibe here, with the song choices and it's very clean too. My kids and I love the Hokkaido Frostie under the Kids menu. I hope they make the larger size for it in the future . The only downside to my visit today was when we finally ordered and waited for our drink . After some time, the young lady just gave our order and when I asked what happened to the topping she just stated "there is no boba" , she could have at least offered to replace it with something else or mentioned there was no more boba prior to ordering because I literally went to the front to ask if there were larger size of the Hokkaido frostie so they know I'm ordering something that comes with boba. None of them ever mentioned it ran out prior or even after without us even suggesting maybe they could change it to something else ? so I was bit disappointed because they are usually on top of things, but she was giving the face like "I don't want to be here." I love this place but that time she made me feel so unwelcomed :( for something she did wrong. Finally the guy said we have honey boba so I asked if that's okay instead of getting a drink for almost $15 with tip with no topping at all . I'm glad the guy fixed it and we went home right away . Still one of my favorite spots for boba in Federal Way. The owner and staff are super nice. Ordering is easy and the drinks are made quickly. The only downside is the high price tag, especially with added topping. But that's not an unique problem to this shop, boba is expensive across the board now. That said, I've never been disappointed by the quality of the drink. Besides my go-to Strawberry Matcha Latte with Milk Pudding, I have been enjoying the new pistachio matcha latte. Located right on Pacific Highway in a small plaza with a good amount of parking. If there isn't any parking out front, you can go up the hill and there's plenty more parking. When you walk in, you're greeted by friendly staff as well as upbeat music playing. They had a good amount of tables to hang out and enjoy your boba. Their drinks and toppings are all made fresh and you can taste the quality of their ingredients. Aside from their main menu, they always have seasonal and limited time promo drinks which are always fun to get. The two we got this time around were the Dubai Chocolate Frostie as well as the Blueberry Crunch. Both drinks tasted exactly what they sounded like and you can taste each component of the drink coming together as one. Super refreshing and delicious either as a quick drink or as a dessert. Just wanted to write an update after witnessing an amazing act of kindness during probably one of their busier days as they are currently doing a Love and Deepspace (popular game) collab and have a long line every time they open. We have been here twice to receive my goodies as they are currently doing one set of collab goodies per order. The staff here has done an exceptionally job not only ensuring that the experience goes smoothly for fans but also still making great drinks. I love the collaboration drinks as they were all made deliciously and refreshing, especially with how hot it has been. Now on the second day (8/11), my boyfriend and I were waiting for our days and suddenly I heard a small commotion coming from outside near the door but couldn't see as their window decals was covering whatever was going on. I let my boyfriend know that we should be careful as we walk out cause it looked like someone spilled something. My boyfriend was able to peer better as he was closer and noticed that the person didn't spill something but was bleeding excessively. A kind bystander walked in a few times to grab paper towels to help with the bleeding before asking one of the employees if they had a band aid. Now again, this place is packed and still has a long line (probably 50 people) and the one who went to grab a first aid kit was the one helping and announcing out names for those to pick up their drink. This gentleman went above and beyond and stayed with the injured person even as we were leaving. The rest of the crew did their best to adjust to missing a person but showed no signs of annoyance or negative feelings which shows that they were prepared for the busy opening. This employee did this for a patron who hadn't even gone in and ordered and did what they could to aid them and I truly think that is an act that should be noticed. I've been on a bubble tea kick since a recent trip to Japan and am on a mission to find the best around. I ordered the mango milk tea, 25% less sugar, with double brown sugar boba, and my boyfriend went with the white peach oolong cheese tea, 75% less sugar, with jasmine green tea jelly. Both were good, but not nearly the best. Even with 25% less sugar, mine was sweeter than expected. The boba was warm, which was fine, but it wasn't the least bit chewy. So far, Japan still rules. If you like cheese tea, there is a Chinese restaurant in Federal Way that offers a much better peach oolong cheese tea, and the food is the best Chinese I've had in Washington. I recently made my second trip to Sunright in Federal Way, and it's a solid spot for boba. You order at a kiosk to the left of the entrance, which is convenient. They've got a decent menu with a range of options--fruit teas, fresh milk drinks, smoothies... Most of their drinks are on the sweeter side, so I always ask for less sugar. In the summer, they had this seasonal watermelon slushy that reminded me a lot of California's Tastea Watermelon Heaven, if you've ever had it. super refreshing! There were two drinks, the Sunright Boba Milk Tea (Indiana) and Lemon Yakult (Enterprise). I got the Sunright Boba Milk Tea as the way it was recommended/defaulted, while my sister got the Lemon Yakult with the additional Cream Pudding (White). The Lemon Yakult was surprisingly SO GOOD. It was a little tart, but really refreshing. The service was good. We ordered at the self-ordering kiosks, so didn't have much interaction with the staff other than picking up the order from them once it was ready. read more

I usually get a tea but had to avoid caffeine this time, so I got brown sugar boba at 25% sweetness. My friend said 50% is usually too sweet there so I'm glad I went with 25% since I don't like mine too sweet. For this flavor though it all depends on the brown sugar taste since otherwise... it's just milk. None of the components (brown sugar, milk, boba) were outstanding to me. They were all okay. But the spot was clean and service was quick, and I like that they had tablets available for ordering since that gives them less chance to mess up an order. The inside is very bright and yellow, which I loved since it was raining outside when I went here with friends. The place serves milk tea, iced drinks, fruit tea and some cheese foam drinks, along with other things. Service is very fast here, and I got a Hokkaido red bean frostie with oat milk. Drink was a really nice blend, and their red beans added onto the drink very well. It was slightly sweeter than I expected, and oat milk probably wasn't the best choice for it since the red beans are already sweet.
