I LOVE visiting Bobalust whenever I'm back in Washington! I was excited to see that they opened a location in Federal Way in the last few years - because now I don't have to drive to Tukwila to get my fix. My husband, best friend, and I did a late night boba run (late for us being 8PM lol) because it's always a good time for boba. I ordered the Lychee Bomb, my husband ordered the the Crimson Cutie with boba, and my friend got a Cuddles on the Beach with boba. The Lychee Bomb is my FAVORITE at the moment. I've ordered it before with additional boba but I think the toppings it comes with is the perfect amount. Adding boba wasn't bad, but it was a bit much for me. I had a sip of the other two drinks and they were amazing too! With such a limited (but delicious) menu, this doesn't seem like the place for many customizations. I'm sure they could accommodate but the most I would customize are the toppings. I'm sure all their signature drinks are amazing as is - considering I've tried three at one time and loved them all. It's all black inside (consistent with their Kent location), but I wish there were either more chairs/tables or trendy looking seating areas. The current vibe is just.. empty and dark? I ordered the Lychee Strawberry slushy drink. It came with lychee and strawberries and was very refreshing. They have a a variety of different drinks such as milk teas, milky shakes and slushies. The cashier was friendly and helpful. Location is next to the Trader Joes. Overall, the slushy was tasty. read more

While restrooms aren't the main reason people come here, they can be a reflection of overall cleanliness standards. If the same level of care was applied to the restroom as to the drinks and customer service, this place could easily be a 5-star stop. I got the jasmine milk tea with regular sugar, regular ice, Boba, and rainbow jelly. First off the drink tasted like water with sugar. It had no flavor and the boba were hard and undercooked, and also had no flavor. This is the second time I try this place. Just go to happy lemon across the street. I like this place and have been several times. They do a decent job at making the drinks. The service was friendly and the person behind the counter was patient with me deciding what I wanted. I like the neon selfie sign they have, although I think they could do more with the decor and liven the color scheme up a bit (it looks a little like an abandoned warehouse). read more

Had a great Yelp elite experience here. The menu is extensive and lots of great choices. You can customize the drink as well. I got the Thai green milk tea with lychee jelly. The drinks were made great and tasted good. The staff was very nice and friendly. There is some seating in the boba shop. There is a good amount of parking in the complex as well. It was our first time at BobaLust last night! We were in the area and craving milk tea and found this spot on Yelp. We ordered the cuddles on the beach smoothie and OG milk tea with boba. My milk tea was great, I liked how you could actually taste the tea. I got it with 50% sugar so it was just the right amount of sweetness for me. The boba wasn't the best, it was kind of hard. The smoothie was good but way too sweet for me - the good thing about this place is that you can adjust the sweetness and ice level to your liking. For service, you order at the counter and they'll call your number when your order is ready. There's a lot of space inside but not many tables (maybe 3 or 4?) so it's definitely more a grab and go spot! read more

But this new location opened up in federal way. Tried the signature slushie drinks and they were sooooooo good. The jelly's are super flavorful! My son has recently gotten hip to the boba scene thanks to my sister. Unfortunately for me, the boba places that I grew up with, are no longer around. So I'm always reluctant to try new boba spots. I saw this one open up after Covid and finally decided to give it a try since my son kept asking. Ordering boba has become sooooo convoluted these days lol I used to just order a taro boba now they want the sweetness level, pearls, jellies, etc lol I just always order 100% sweetness and blended. We ordered a taro (my go to) and I think strawberry for my son. Overall the boba was good, nice consistency and good flavor. I don't think I personally would go here again because they use actual milk instead of dairy free creamer as I'm used to. But for others, I definitely recommend. This was my first time at this location, but I have been to another before and I am happy to report they share the same consistency with delicious drinks! This location is quite open and has two tables to sit at, so if you're lucky you might be able to find a seat. Owner/manager was amazing enough to let me participate so that was super kind. It speaks volumes of the quality of the staff. The walls were grey and there wasn't much in the way of decoration, except for the neon sign that said "all you need is love and lust." There's a good mix of drinks on the menu, both teas and slushes, and I ordered a Sunburst. It took quite a while for my drink to be ready, and there weren't that many people ahead of me waiting. It looked like there were only two people working, so maybe it was a staffing issue? The drink was pretty in color, tasted overall ok but it was super sweet. I'm not sure if there's the option to modify the sweetness but if there was, it wasn't offered. late post: dropped by while I was in the area, been to another location and really liked their drinks. ordered Jasmine green tea and taro - both milk teas. I listed pricing in photo as well Jasmine green milk tea ($4.50) and crystal boba ($0.75) and grass jelly ($0.50). Taro milk tea with grass jelly and egg pudding ($0.50). Lots of parking and we dropped by during their halloween decor. The only thing i didn't appreciate was there is a charge for no ice or less ice. Something i do notice a few boba place either tell you they cannot do no ice, or they simply make your drink and in compensation for lesser ratio in the cup, there is lesser drink (with less and or no ice). I was taken by surprise by the bill as the cashier did not explain about the additional charge, wasn't transparent when we asked. It's ok it is not a large amount of money but I just thought it would have been courteous to say "oh that'll be extra charge, is that ok?" or something along those lines so you'd recognize it. read more

I certainly appreciate a boba spot that has the option of excluding sugar. Yes, i'm a wimp; I think too much sugar in milk boba makes me feel terrible afterwards. The honey boba balls are already sweet so why add more? Anyway, I got the milk green tea and it was refreshing; it was a good compliment to a hot early afternoon weather. I worked in federal way for a short time earlier this year and this was a place I came to often to grab a drink before or after my shifts. My favorite drinks were the electric sky, chococat with coffee boba added and honey rose iced green tea. I tried several other of the drinks on the menu and didn't like any of those at all. The name really drew me in to this place plus it's right next door to Trader Joe's where I liked to grocery shop in that area. The vibe inside is admittedly a little strange..they have a lot of space but the most minimal decor. Literally just one light up sign on a wall, a table and bench aside from the walk up counter. They should really get some cute and flirty decor in there to match the business name and really add to the appeal of the place. The gals who work here were pretty nice and always made the drinks fast. It's decent if you're in the area and want a nice cold drink. Dark, gloomy, and sub par Boba. We stopped by this place recently to get our boba fix for the day. Very excited to see a boba place next to Trader Joe's. Everything else was a disappointment as soon as you walk in the door. It's very dark and gloomy inside. And there were about 4 chairs inside. Don't expect to sit there and take selfies with your boba. Lighting is terrible. In contrast, look up Bober Tea and Mochi at University Place. That's how a store should look like. I ordered a Thai Tea drink. It took about 10 minutes to make. It was a watered down, lukewarm mess of a drink. It was neither tasty nor appetizing to look at. There wasn't enough tea, not enough milk, and they clearly use the cheapest boba you can find. Again, go to Bober Tea and Mochi at University Place to see what an actual Thai Tea boba should look and taste like. Headed there today after yesterday's fiasco. I brought my friends to the new location in federal way that owner Victor told me about. Although one lives in Tacoma, and the other in maple valley, we normally frequent the Kent location or tukwila. But we were impressed by this new location. Although the Trader Joe's line was out the door and blocking the door to bobalust(annoying btw...TJs needs to fix that problem.) the young man(I forgot his name, I met him at tukwila location), came to greet me at the door because he literally just opened the store up. They open at 2pm fir now. Always check for store hours because it can change. Yes, during this time mask are required. Victor has some really good team members because this guy is always over the top, and he remembers me from when I would visit the tukwila location, and it's been over a year since I've been there. They gave the same great drink, but the plus side of this location during a hot day like today, is they have indoor seating but only two tables, and they have AC! It was so relaxing for the five of us to sit and enjoy our drinks before driving our separate ways. Thanks Bobalust for making my friends always feel welcomed. read more
