Saw this place in the market at Ruston Point and everyone's drinks looked delicious. Grabbed an ube latte which was delicious, just wished I asked for half sweet. Service was quick!

We were at the Waterfront Market at Pt. Ruston a couple of days ago and saw this cute place. We decided to go back yesterday. The lady that owns it (I'm assuming) and took our order was super sweet! Drinks were delicious! A line of people came after us, so I was glad we went when we did. Glad to see that people are stopping in!

Not sure if this stand is still in business at the moment at the Waterfront Market at Ruston since…read moreit's not currently listed in the directory, but will say that they made a decent couple scoops of gelato when I tried them last summer. Had the cookies and cream and tiramisu and they were creamy and tasted fittingly to their names. The former had chunks and crumbles of chocolate sandwich cookies and the latter imparted a pleasant coffee liqueur flavor. Their products include mainly gelato in about 18 flavors, including popular ones like mint chip, chocolate, sea salt caramel, creme brûlée, and raspberry sorbetto. The bourbon apple pie and maple pecan caught my eye and would be flavors I'd like to try next time if they're around. They also carried about a dozen flavors of fudge in some creative flavors like caramel macchiato, cotton candy, black cherry bourbon, and dark espresso. Rounding out the assortment was about a dozen different flavors of chocolate truffles, plus a selection of other chocolates. There was one staff member manning the stand, she was friendly though our interaction was brief. The stand itself was neat, organized and clean, the printed sign hung on the back wall of the stand made me think this was a relatively new business trying to get its feet off the ground. There's seating at tables in a shared open area used by multiple stands/restaurants. Bathrooms are shared with the market facilities and parking is located directly in front of the market.

I have been to…read moreTrinidad many times ( and I have Trinidadian family members ) Coming from the East Coast to now the West Coast and I see Trini food. I'm letting my Caribbean friends know we found a spot where we can find our people/food. I get there, the girl with the purple hair at the register rude as hell. The prices are insane. The so-called curry bowl that I received was disgusting. The channa had no taste, the chicken was supposed to be curry. There was no curry powder on that chicken, the chicken was more likely just sautéed and seasoning and placed on yellow rice. Nowhere in Trinidad that plate would've been sold, they don't do that. I wanted to get doubles, however they didn't have any more bara. Please if you're going to call your establishment "Trini plate" make sure you're actually cooking the cultural dishes. Do not give it a name just because you know the surrounding community does not know any better and they will think it's good. I am highly disappointed. I will say the bread pudding on the sorrel was good. And the OWNER, was pleasant.

Boran continues to be one of mine and my husband's favorite Thai spots so I'm not budging on the…read morefour stars, but we recently had a little bit of an iffy experience. I booked a reservation here for my dad's birthday dinner. He's been here in the past and loved it so I thought it was a good safe choice, but it fell a little lackluster for him specifically which is a bummer since it was HIS birthday. We started out with some Chicken Satay and Crab Rangoon, both of which were fire. We haven't ordered those here before so can confirm the satay is a new favorite. Can't really mess up the rangoon, but still it was delicious! My dad is a sucker for Panang Curry with Chicken but they will only make it here with salmon for whatever reason? Bummer number one. He went with the Crying Tiger as his back up and when they brought it out, we were all wowed! Presentation is a 10/10 for sure. He ordered it medium rare though and it came out WELL done which, for the price, was a letdown. I ended up doing something I never do and broke free of the shackles that their Pad Thai has on me. The Boat Noodles looked so delicious that I decided to full send and give it a try - as a huge soup girlie the curiosity was just too strong. The broth is very herb forward but also still has a complex, delicious flavor. Spice level was on point. The waitress told me it was very beef forward and boy it was - but it was tasty! TONS of generously sliced beef. Loved the rice noodles too. My sister ordered the Crab Fried Rice which was an insane portion and uniquely plated. Large serving of fried rice covered in a Thai style omelet with a HEAPING pile of crab on top, served with a yummy Thai spicy mayo. She let me try a couple bites and it was pretty superb. It's a little pricy at $40 but it's at least two meals so I guess it's justified. I put in my reservation notes that it was a birthday dinner and they were kind enough to bring out a free slice of cheesecake that was beautifully presented with dry ice and all. Even with a few hiccups in this dinner we will definitely still continue to frequent. Over the 5+ times we've been here this was the first kind of "meh" experience but it was still good!

The restaurant is beautiful and well decorated, and the staff were very friendly. I do wish they had checked on us a bit more since there were a few moments we waited even though the restaurant wasn't busy at this moment. The food was excellent and made perfectly. We ordered the crab rangoons, calamari rings, chicken fried rice, and the pad ka pao, which ended up being our favorite dish we ordered. We will definitely be back!
