I had been hearing a lot about Sen, so I decided to stop by and try their banana pudding matcha and it did not disappoint. From the moment I walked in, the space felt clean, well kept, and thoughtfully put together. There's a calm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to stay a bit longer rather than just grab and go. The staff were genuinely kind and attentive. Now to the drink the banana pudding matcha was the highlight. It struck a great balance smooth, creamy, and not overly sweet. The banana flavor came through naturally without overpowering the matcha, which still held its earthy, rich profile. You can tell care went into crafting it. Overall, a solid experience. Great drink, clean environment, and friendly service. Sen is definitely a spot I'd return to.
Cute and clean place to get your drinks. We walked in and it was empty, but it was a weekday and early in the morning. You order and pay using an IPad and the gals make your order right there behind the counter. Prices are like any other place. Not high or low. I got the hojicha latte and my daughter got the banana matcha. Both drinks were good and satisfied our cravings. Would definitely go back if I'm in the area
Good place to get Matcha, Vietnamese, coffee, and other drinks around Tacoma. Drinks were on the sweeter side still even after selecting less sweet. Overall, the drinks were good, a distinguished taste from most places, but overall flavorful and strong. Overall, I will come back.
Had a delicious strawberry matcha boba drink and bubble waffles with cream really hit the spot! Staff was friendly, shop was clean and drinks were so refreshing! Located in a plaza with lots of parking!
Delicious Matcha from a clean shop! This little shop is so bright and tidy. The staff is friendly! They handwisk their matcha and every drink is exactly precise because they make the drinks on a scale and weigh each ingredient as they add it. It makes for a perfect drink every time. The prices are excellent as well. A custom matcha like this in Seattle is easily $5 more. I also love that they have a self ordering screen.

The drinks are made fresh to order, and how wonderful to find a place that makes matcha how it should! By hand my friend, not from a box or a package. I tend to find what I like and stick to it but I have notice that not all the workers are as consistent as the owner, which is to be expected. I do agree with the other reviewer, if this drink spot wants to go viral and would like more attention than the owner(s) has to be present when all drinks are being made. When you're running a business this can take a toll on the mind after a while. I am also a business owner and no one likes having someone look over their shoulder while working and no one likes a Micro manager. I can tell the owner takes time to explain, show and instruct exactly how to create each drink, but it is up to the staff to maintain the same level of expectancy. I will continue to get drinks from here and I do recommend giving this shop a try. Very clean, quiet atmosphere, friendly service always.
Clean, minimalistic cafe with easy parking. Convenient location being near other plazas as well. Menu wasn't too big which is a plus, as this lets them master their craft. Staff was super friendly and welcoming! They even offered to remake drinks if sugar was off. Complaints are just no ice adjustments were shown on the kiosk their sugar adjustment is just "less sugar" but multiple selections allowed, which isn't quite clear. Doesn't help with understanding sugar levels with respect to each other and not clear how to get zero added sugar. Pistachio Matcha w/ Boba - matcha was very smooth! Pistachio flavor specifically wasn't exactly strong but there was a very present nuttiness. Overall a creamy blend with strong balanced flavors. Boba was fantastic (detailed below). Oolong Tea Milk Tea w/ Boba - a slight roasted oolong but overall good flavor, decent tea. Pretty classic and met expectations. Boba was wonderful, fresh with a beautiful bounce. Plus marinated in sugar well, so every chew was flavorful. As noted above, downside is the less sugar option is still pretty sweet.
Once of the best tasting boba places in a while. Wifey got the brown sugar milk tea boba and the flavor was superb. Boba was soft and fresh, milk was perfect. Staff were great. This location has lots of parking in front and little lounge area inside. Cute spot for a boba drink. We will be back.
From Bubble Island to Boba T Island, and now to Sen Boba. It looks like it's under new-ownership, but I am not entirely sure. It is even more minimalist decorated inside. It is very well lit inside and pretty quiet. There is a self ordering kiosk, as well as a regular one for an employee to assist you if needed! The menu is catered to more elevated matcha and milk tea drinks. I ordered the Strawberry Matcha Cloud and my sister ordered the Taro Purple Cloud. The quality of the drinks are great! The drinks aren't too overly sweet. You can even taste the bits of taro in the Taro Purple Cloud.
I finally got to try their banana pudding matcha and it was delicious! I have seen this on their IG page and it did not disappoint! The owner was so kind and asked if I needed any adjustments. The amount of sweetness was perfect. For $8, it was a bit pricey but I do understand how much labor was put into this drink. Will purchase this again if it's on their permanent menu.

Strawberry matcha, Coconut Matcha Cloud, Taro Purple Cloud, and a Mango Smoothie with Lychee. Strawberry Matcha was definitely the best. The coconut Matcha cloud tasted more like coconut juice and less Matcha. Taro had the right amount of sweetness. The smoothie was also really good. I can't wait to try the Banana Matcha and Houjicha Creamy next!
Such a cute place. The service is exceptional. We ordered the taro purple cloud and the pistachio matcha. They use real taro. They steam the taro and you can still feel the bits in your mouth. I love it. The matcha is rich. They hand whisk their matcha so you're not getting any artificial sugary drinks. If you're a REAL matcha lover, you will love the earthiness of their matcha. If you want the sweet ones you could typically get from artificial fructose that other places offer, just let them know you want more cream. They usually add cold foam to make it sweeter. They even approached us and asked if we wanted anything tweaked. I enjoy boba and i love that this place makes everything healthier.

This place is SOOO good. The Hojicha Creamy with the foam top is like an Einspanner Latte. The inside is simple and clean. The servers are also so kind. This has become our go-to tea spot during road trips. The last time I had a hojicha drink this good was in LA Koreatown (and I had to wait 1.5 hours in line for that ) read more

Oh my gosh! I'm so happy they're here. I had the pleasure of meeting Tina and Alex - super sweet and helpful. I love that they use really high quality matcha powder and all the drinks are made-to-order. So far, I've only had the Number 9 - Coconut Matcha Creamy and the Number 10 - Strawberry Cloud Matcha. They're both so delicious! I'm gonna make my way to try the entire menu. read more

There isn't a bigger disappointment than craving a boba drink, and getting to the counter with your order ready for the cashier to tell you they're out of boba. Unfortunately this isn't just a Sen issue, it often happens when I visit several boba places. Like, that's the whole reason people go to a boba drink place and not a larger chain brand or café. Other than this to start off the experience, the interior is chic and there's plenty of seating. It looks newly redone, it's nice. The staff was friendly and quick with our order, although I do wish boba places offer a slight discount on your drink when they're out of boba... the drinks were very flavorful and light. I had a pistachio matcha and my husband had the hojicha matcha. It was made with the perfect amount of ice and foam, the tea sweetness was just right without me asking for any adjustments. The other options available sound good, but nothing too unique to make it stand out. read more

Upon entrance the employees were very nice and attentive, not sure if they were the owner or not. Place was clean, I went at around 8:30 PM. My friend and I ordered two drinks! I forgot the name of mine but it was good! Not too sweet (which I like) but had the right flavors! My friend had the coconut cloud or something along that line, and it was really refreshing! Wanted to try a new matcha place since I'm a matchaholic, the staff were so nice in explaining and even checked in on my friend and I when we tried the drinks and were chilling there early Sunday. In terms of the drinks, matcha was very grainy and somewhat clumpy afterwards which I don't personally like. The pistachio matcha was decent and I enjoyed the nutty flavor that made the matcha smoother so it was a complimentary flavor combo. My friend on the other hand had the banana pudding matcha which was too sweet for us both, and the ratio of drink to banana cream on top was not balanced. If it was less sweet, less cream and ice to ratio of the actual matcha drink we would have liked it better. The banana taste seemed very artificial as well. But the esthetic of the cafe was cute and clean, seems like a nice spot for friends to hang out and relatively clean. Location had plenty of parking. With no matcha competitors nearby, this place has potential, they also have Vietnamese coffee, smoothies and milk teas as well so maybe those might be better. I'll give those a chance next time! read more

Such a cute and cozy spot. The staffs are very friendly and sweet. They don't have huge menu but every drink is top quality . If you like strong tea - macchiato green tea with creamy is the best - rich , bold and super satisfying love the " less but best " vibe here . Definitely coming back read more

There's currently a buy 3 get 1 free. Service was excellent and quite fast considering there were 3 people ahead of me before I ordered 4 drinks. Matcha is very nice, subtle earthy and smooth. my favorite out of the 4 drinks I've ordered. Definitely the best in Lakewood read more

I ordered a coconut matcha cloud, and it was scrumptious! You could tell it was freshly made. The staff was very friendly, and they kindly gave me a sample of one of their drinks -- houjicha, I think. I'll definitely try their other drinks when I'm in the Tacoma area. read more

I ordered #13 with 50% sugar, and it was perfect! The coffee flavor is strong, rich, and very tasty--just how I like it. You can really tell they use quality ingredients. I'll definitely be coming back for more. Highly recommend if you love bold coffee drinks! read more
