Very cute little shop with a small parking lot in the back. The names of the different barn mi's are all city names. I've only ever tried the Hoi A which is the classic. They don't do the pate but they have their own special mayo which I pretty good. Their bread isn't toasted. Their bread is soft and chewy which gives it a nice texture and saves the roof of your mouth. Tried their Thai tea and it was pretty good with just the right level of sweetness. The service was quick so if you want to grab a quick to go this place would be it.

Fast service, made fresh to order and was delicious! Almost tasted just like the one I enjoyed in Vietnam! And it's clean inside with seating inside and outside. Cute spot with healthy options. Highly recommend

These sandwiches are so aromatic we have to fight off our kitties when eating them at home! Walking into the very sleek and cute Toast Mi is an adventure in savory fragrances! It's around the back so stroll past the corporate nonsense at Sbux and you'll find a real Tacoma gem. And the sandwiches taste as good as they smell! The very sweet staff make every visit lovely as well. I've gotten takeout several times and need to go back soon! I've had the Ha Long Bay (beef), the Sapa (tofu but with the pate... I'm that person), and the Mekong (pork). They were all so good from the properly crackling baguette that sheds shards of crust as you munch, to the savory meats and beautiful sauces, creamy pate, and the super fresh, crisp veggies. This place is not to be missed!

My goto bahn mi shop! They are the best in Tacoma! They also have delicious boba and rice bowls! The service is always welcoming and friendly too!

We got the cold cut sandwich. The sandwich was literally 3/4 carrot & daikon, minimal & thin slices of meat on my sandwich. The middle part of the sandwich was even more carrot & daikon than what I got pictured. It was disappointing, the little layer of pate once I finally reached it towards the end did taste good, I just wish there was more. My sandwich wasn't portioned right or evenly spreaded, I wish there was more meat or thicker slices at least. I paid $27 before tip for 2 cold cut banh mi & crème brûlée coffee. Come for the coffee but the sandwich, I'd skip. The crème brûlée tasted good and the coffee was perfect. I looked at the other reviews on other sandwiches, maybe I came in on a bad day where it was a newer staff since my sandwich structure was just mid. The staff were nice but I wish the sandwich were up to standards. It took me 1/3 into the sandwich to hit the meats, the bread didn't taste fresh either and it was breaking into pieces as I kept eating. The Vietnamese in me know what a good banh mi is, and this was just poorly constructed. Please train the staff again on portion. Every bite was filled with a half inch layer of daikon and carrot.

Went to Toast Mi for the first time in Proctor and this is such a very nice cafe to stop by for authentic Vietnamese sandwiches and bubble tea drink. They have a large variety of drinks from dairy to non dairy. Also a good selection of Vietnamese sandwiches. I ordered the Norte Dame and the Hoi A sandwiches along with a brown sugar milk tea and kumquat fruit tea. The banh mis were very delicious. The bread was crunchy and the fillings were delicious and authentic to the Vietnamese culture. The kumquat fruit tea was delicious. Very refreshing. The brown sugar milk tea is very good too. A strong brown sugar flavor and just the right sweetness. The service was excellent. Quick and very nice. The ambiance of the cafe is very cute and clean. Would definitely come back here and recommend anyone in the area to stop by.

The service was fast and the employees were very polite! The ambiance is very small and not a lot seats. The food was tasty and if I had to compare it's way better than the banh mi sandwich back in the Bay Area. When I visit I'm most definitely coming back.,

The rice bowl is SO GOOD! I love the combination of all the veggies, meat, rice, and sauces. I get their #12 with beef and tofu. I'm so impressed with their tofu. It's so flavorful!!

I've heard a ton of fantastic things about Toast Mi even for their boba. Unfortunately, I did not share that similar experience. Upon stepping in, the banh mis looked delicious and there was a pleasant smell. I would have ordered food had we not planned to snag dinner later. Instead, we stopped by for some boba after shopping. The boba itself, as a topping, was not good while the drinks were pretty solid. Could easily have been some one off experience with a bad batch of boba but a bad impression to start. Taro Oreo w/ Boba - boba was bad but more on that later. This is an ice blended drink and very dessert like. More taro than Oreo which I enjoy, leaning towards the creamier flavor than sugar. Classic Milk Tea w/ Boba - great milk tea. Strong black tea with milk. Very similar to a traditional house milk tea elsewhere. Dark tea with milk led to a darker appearance. Anyway, my boba was sweet but undercooked. It was hard which ruins the experience. Not sure if it was fresh at all but I'm leaning towards old.

Excited to have another spot in Lacey! I had the bahn mi and the sort of bahn mi bowl. I preferred the bowl, it was over rice and had a nice salad on the side. The bahn mi was good was well and big portion. The drinks though were amazing! I got the strawberry cheesecake and maybe went back the next day to get it again. My friend got the taro Oreo which was tasty. I also got a speciality coffee which was delicious. They also have croffles which I haven't tried yet but i definitely recommend checking them out.

We had our toddler and dog, so we were looking for a place to grab quick meal. Good thing Toast Mi had 2 tables available outside of the shop. The sandwiches were ready in about 10 minutes. I ordered #4 Hoi An (classic cold cuts) $7.75 and #7 Imperial City (2 choices of meat + a fried egg) $9.75 - I chose grilled pork and grilled beef. Both sandwiches were decent size, one is enough to fill up an adult. I prefer the Imperial City (who doesn't like fried egg on their sandwich right?!) for many reasons - warm, lots of meat, saucy, and a bit coconuty. *Tips* 1. No bathroom inside. The bathroom is outside, shared by multiple business. Code required 2. If you plan to share the sandwich, ask them to cut it in half.

Ok we had to try the Bahn Mi. Today we had two Mekong (grilled pork ) and two drinks. One Macha mango and one mango with Boba( 50 cent xtra). Everything came up fairly quick. Drinks first then food. Bahn Mi was good. They did have some kind of sauce on the meat. Not used to that but good. The bread was perfectly crunchy. Then we saw on a smaller menu that had Fresh Rolls. So bf got an order of those. They were huge! Only thing missing was cilantro or mint. The garlic sauce was good but sweeter than we used too. I did sit with my back to the window and I did get a bit chilled. But we ate and didn't linger. It's just big enough inside for 10-15 people.

I've heard a lot of good things about Toast Mi and after months of wanting to try for myself, finally did and so disappointed that I didn't come sooner!! Toast Mi is hidden away on 26th and Proctor and located in the plaza with Starbucks but entrance is from the back of the building, so it could easily be missed. The seating inside is limited as the space itself is on the smaller side. Food wise, they have a variety of proteins to choose and you can have it in a bowl with rice and veggies or as a sandwich... I opted for the bowl. They also have fresh made spring rolls and boba on their menu! So, I got the grilled beef bowl, added a fried egg and extra of the cilantro sauce on top. The rice was cooked perfectly and fluffy, the meat was tender and flavorful, the shredded carrots and raffish gave it that extra texture, as did the jalapeños and cilantro. Everything came together and brought the perfect combination of savory but freshness too. The service was great too and as it was first time there, looking over the menu - they were patient with me and helped me decide what to get. I'll definitely be back to try more food items and some boba next time!

We saw this little sandwich shop we hadn't seen before and decided to check it out. The atmosphere is very nice, casual, and comfortable. It looks like it would be good to sit and do homework, have lunch with some friends, or go to a casual brunch with family. There are lots of seating choices: a couch and comfy chairs, high tables and stools, and regular tables. One table had a puzzle started you could work on and there were lots of games and books you could use. You order at the counter, they deliver food to your table and there is a place to bus your own table. The beverage menu included coffee and alcoholic beverages. They offered sandwiches, crepes, pastries and soup. We ordered coffee, a pastry, soup, and order of crepes to be eaten there. The coffee was fine served in a nice mug. The cookie was large but packaged in a plastic bag that would have been ok if we had been a to go order. But we were eating there so we either had to put it directly on the table or on the plastic bag. The tomato soup was very tasty, creamy with a little kick of spice. It had occasional chunks of tomato and visible pieces of basil. All of this goodness was overshadowed because it was served in a small ramekin, the type cooks use to portion food when they are preparing a recipe. It appeared we were getting a large taste of soup instead of a cup of soup. For some reason I assumed the savory crepes would be fresh and warm, but instead my order was made with premade cold crepes loosely wrapped around the mostly cheese filling. Taken as a whole we left disappointed. The atmosphere was nice enough that I will try this place again and try something else. I hope for better because it looks like it could be a great place to eat and hang with friends.

But then we looked cross the street on 1st, where there used to be an Anthem, and even though it was already 6pm, this sandwich shop was still open and...there was a BINGO game happening. Whaddya know? So we took a peak in and they were not only serving sandwiches but they also had a cooler full of microbrews and kombuchas, beer on tap, wine, and a whole list of cocktails made from prosecco and other non-hard liquors like Amaro. Truly something for everyone. So we gave our order to the sweet human at the counter and took our seats I'm not kidding, my Amaro sour was one of the best cocktails I've had in a while in Tacoma and so were the pretzel sticks. I want my cocktails cold, tart, and refreshing with a little kick of funk or herbs and I want my pretzels salty. You wouldn't think that's such a high bar to clear but you'd be surprised. Sandwich Starr nailed it. Our Zatan sandwich was tasty but even though the bread felt a little stale. Otherwise the decor is kinda '90s coffee house and they've got bingo! Overall, this is an odd spot but the drinks are really good and it's got heart and it's the heart that makes it Tacoma.

No welcome or anything or a "hey just sit anywhere you want". So I just took initiative, grabbed a menu and sat at an empty table. There's a sign that said "order at the bar" but the barkeep would go to other people and ask what they wanted. Okay, that's fine... Trying to follow the rules so I don't single myself out, I went to the bar and was asked for my ID, but why? I wasn't ordering drinks and when other people came, the barkeep didn't ask the other customers for their ID so I felt some type of way but whatever. We proceed to order the Philly and Mac & Cheese. Philly tasted great because it also came with dipping sauce. The only thing lacking was that I felt it wasn't enough. Plus It seemed like I had more bread as opposed to meat. Mac & Cheese was great also, it was soft and creamy plus it had crunchy bits. It had the consistency of valveeta cheese. We asked for the check, we waited, waited some more so I finally went to the bar and closed the tab that I didn't order drinks with, just food. I like the vibe, its like being in a classic tattoo studio with posters on the wall with classical prints from different time periods. Not a big establishment or room inside but just enough to have a modest amount of 30 people. It's a nice joint but not really for me, I'd probably order through Uber eats with this place.

I'm a big fan of breweries, especially those with several drinks on draught or tap, and if they're really good, I'll buy them in a bottle. However, I read their review and noticed that they had vegan and vegetarian options, so I thought, "You know what? That's a combination I can't resist. Beers with a delicious sandwich!" A few days later, I made plans to visit on Saturday, which happened to be one of the two days this year that it snowed in the Pirec. It was quite amusing with the parking and the snow that stuck everywhere. As soon as I walked in, the bar was buzzing with energy. It had a great vibe. I didn't think I'd get any seats, but I managed to snag one at the bar with a very friendly person. I spent all but about 3 to 4 hours there. The sandwich I ordered was called the Rainier, and it was mentioned in the review, but the name wasn't revealed. It consists of a field roast loaf, Chao vegan cheese, herbed vegan mayonnaise, tomato, red onion, and arugula on sourdough bread. I'm not a big fan of mayonnaise, even if it's vegan, so I swapped it out with some pesto-style creamy cheese, and it turned out even better than I expected. The sandwich was a perfect five out of five. I would definitely order it every time I come. It came with a side of chips, which was a great addition. The sandwich was massive, so I could only eat half of it. I took the other half home for the next day. For my beers, I'm a big stout-and-porter guy, so I went with the Fort George's. They had two options: the Salted Caramel Cavatica & Matryoshka Vanilla. Both were exceptionally flavorful and probably my favorite porters I've had in all of Washington and many other states. Unfortunately, they ran out of the Salted Caramel Cavatica, so I ended up drinking the Matryoshka Vanilla for the rest of the night and didn't mind at all. Overall, I had a fantastic time at this place. I'm definitely going to make it a regular stop in my monthly rotations around Tacoma. Highly recommend stopping by this place. It's definitely a five.
