I love quarterdeck so much! Service has always been so friendly and kind. Breakfast items are great and the coffee is tasty. I love their white mochas and hot vanilla lattes. Spacious seating outdoors for the sunnier days and seating in a covered area outside makes visiting here great for any day.

I come here anywhere from once to 3 times a week. My doggie loves the marina and I love sitting outside and enjoying a drink with the sun and the view. Even on chilly days, they have tents a heaters. The servers are always happy and helpful. Recently I had the breakfast sandwich and it was the BEST breakfast muffin sandwich I've ever had. The bread is like a grill cake and the sausage is just right. I'll be definitely ordering that again! Plenty of local beers on tap and wines by the glass to enjoy.

Fun place. We stopped by while visiting family. Lovely day and great view. Some champagne, cocktails, beers and cider. The view cannot be beat. It was going to be a band playing outside later in the evening if I lived in the area. I think I'd hang out here a lot.

What a great location for this laid back coffee, beer, wine and sandwich shack. The Des Moines marina is steps away, but the vibe is distinctly beach and chill. Super friendly service and I appreciated the covered outdoor seating option for when the weather isn't all that beachy. Check whether there's live music, as an added bonus.

My friend recommended this place, and she was totally right. It is so charming! I love the al fresco vibe of enjoying a glass (or bottle.... Oops!) of wine on the deck with a gorgeous view of the water. I've never had food here, but all the salty dogs say it's great. Great rain or shine. I love that dogs are welcome

    Enjoying the wine!

Ambiance: we went on a Thursday afternoon so it was crowded at all and was able to enjoy the view of the marina. Service: she was great! Super cheerful, bubbly, and delight to have her serve us. Food: in the afternoon it was much of an option, however you are welcome to bring your own food and they do have live music and food trucks in the evening. However their house white wine was delicious! And can't complain about the view! Definitely coming back for the live music ! Also, they validate parking !

Fun local vibe. Music on many days in the summer. Wine and beer, croissants only. They can make grilled cheese to go with your beer.

Ask the Community - The Quarterdeck

Do you allow dogs on the deck?

We love dogs and welcome well-behaved dogs on a leash.

Hi there! Do you have vegan options on your menu? Unfortunately, the page won't load on your site. Adorable spot & I've enjoyed great coffee there. I'd love to plan to meet friends there but with multiple vegans in our group I want to confirm options

Thanks for the question. We have a small menu with a few vegan items. You are also welcome to bring in food from local restaurants or from home too. Thanks again. Hope to see you soon!

UPDATE: 3/24/26... As a Yelp Elite member for 6 years, I…read morepride myself in giving fair reviews, whether good or bad. And with the bad, I strive to be positive on the experience that was good before giving suggestions or letting the owner know what fell short. I'm never out to bash a business. Rather, as an owner, if you pride yourself in customer service, you will take what a sincere Yelp Elite reviewer has to say, step back and see how you can improve. I just read the comments another reviewer posted a few days ago and saw that they were berated as well. I had nothing to gain from giving the review I did and it's unfortunate that you're no longer going to be in business, but there were two other people with me that came to this consensus. With that, I will reply to the unfortunate remarks slammed at me, the reviewer. Let me preface by saying I asked for a pic with the owner before tea service started. If it was said that we had a wonderful and lovely time, it was not by me but one of my friends who, when asked how everything was, couldn't think of anything else to say. Also, I wasn't going to express all of this in front of the owner at the time because I had others with me. So, to rebel and ask me if my mother is still alive and did she teach me to behave like this? Well, all I can say is your reaponse as a business owner is extremely childish and unprofessional. I didn't make the food. I reviewed it and if that means it's not the best review, so be it. It pains me not to give a business owner a good review because that's not what we as Elite members strive for. That said, lashing out is not the answer. At least I have the maturity and diplomacy to put these comments in without getting into a mud fight like you chose to do. Review..... My two girlfriends and I came here for afternoon tea. Since I'm the Yelp reviewer, I asked them for their input and so it was a consensus of the three of us. Here's what went right. It was nice to have a carafe of water at our table, there were beautiful flowers and dyed water to match in the vase, the teacups and saucers were very pretty, the owner was extremely nice. Here's what we thought needed a second look. The sign in the store advertised cheese and fruit for the afternoon tea but it didn't appear. When we asked we were told it didn't come with it but we could get some if we wanted. Please revise the sign as people do notice. Suggest you have a selection of three sandwiches rather than two of each. One was a small croissant filled with egg salad and if we hadn't been told that we thought it might be chicken. The other was a cucumber sandwich which although it's nice to have thin slices of cucumber, these were razor thin. Sort of disappointing that there was so little on a beautiful piece of bread. They scones were nothing special. Perhaps have something inside whether it be cranberry, currant etc. The sweets consisted of a Mexican wedding cake which was rather dry and was there a detection of almond extract? The orange macaron, as beautiful as it was, lacked flavor of orange. I was expecting a nice burst of something but it just wasn't there. The fondant on the petit four was much too thick, and sweet. Whatever fashion the raspberry is used, keep a bit of that tart flavor to offset the sweetness from the fondant. The effort was there, things just felt short.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!…read more Mother's Day and birthday- they had a limited menu with a set gratuity of 20% which may explain why the service was lacking. I was hoping this would be like a 4 star review- crappy service amazing food? Nope- bad service bad food over priced- We Made a reservation, and asked for window seat got seated in the worst seat possible table Right by the walkway and kitchen. We asked to move to one of 5 empty tables and we were told they were booked full- the attendant wouldn't even ask if we could switch tables- she did tell the manager we were unhappy and his response was to shrug and dismiss it. She had zero interest in ensuring we had a good experience. There should not have been any issue to move us to one of the other more preferred seats. As they were empty and many remained so while we were there. We ordered Tuxedo lobster ravioli - stuffed with lobster- warm flavor but very uninspiring- would not recommend - it was warm- not hot and the sauce was a bit congealed texture wise - the flavors truly were on the more bland side Crab stuffed salmon - delicious- buttery moist flakey salmon with delightful crab stuffing- garlic mash was spot on- favorite dish! If all dishes had been this delightful I would have been thrilled! Steak tuscano- bland- minimal sauce- both people who ordered it did not feel it was worth it at all- aldente noodles and well well wellll done steak- lacked flavor- the bacon jam was delightful but very little of it- the balsamic reduction was absent and the noodles were dry- none of us who tasted it thought it was good- edible but eh... Artichoke dip - good but not great- it was a bit runny- as in watery. Mild flavor main flavor artichoke very little crab or lobster- actually had to be told it was seafood artichoke- there was no sign of seafood- the RED... L has way better and more flavorful and that's sad to say. We opted to skip dessert thank goodness- sadly the reservation asks about special event for which we put birthday... but there was zero acknowledgment of the birthday- typically in a higher end type restaurant which they seem to claim to be- if you put the occasional they acknowledge that you're there for a birthday etc.- nope! The bottom line is- I've had way better meals with way better service at a way better price..... save the time, the money and your taste buds. And go some place that actually tries to accommodate simple reasonable requests and well quite frankly some place that still cares about customer service. I truly wanted to like this place- sadly won't be back.

I have been eating here for over 25 years. The warmth of a fireplace greets you as well as nice waiting area. Then as you are seated you take in the beautiful view of the Olympic Mountain range and Puget Sound. It's too cold to sit outside yet but large deck exists for the warmer days. We started with champagne to relax and once again enjoy a great night together eating Italian food. The smell of homemade fresh cooked bread filled our noses as we were sat. Clams Sauté started our mouths watering as the juice flavored with red chili flakes, wine, etc was a super start . And the toasted bread to dip into the clam broth was perfect. Then Insalata Verrazanos split between us followed by fettuccini dish split again between us! Our service was not hurried yet they always quietly came by to assure all was fine! This place is located about a mile north of downtown Federal Way on Hwy 99 so you can conveniently come from both directions or various I-5 exits ( exit 272nd works). So where can you enjoy a romantic or simply great tasting Italian meal courses with this view in South Sound? Niwhere this nice. So give yourself a treat. Can't wait to go back yet again.
