It probably just comes down to what this restaurant does well vs. what they're trying to do to accommodate everyone. Six people ordered breakfast, one person ordered a sandwich, and I ordered the Yummy Bowl because it was one of two vegan options on the lunch menu (nothing vegan on the breakfast menu). It was really bad. The flavor and texture were yucky. Nothing was seasoned except the "yummy sauce," which had the strangest flavor. It just didn't taste good. I was grateful I got a side of fries, which were excellent. I'm sure they're trying to accommodate vegans, but there is still some work to do there so the food tastes good and isn't just put together to say there is a vegan option on the menu. Everyone else loved their food. It's a nostalgic place for all of them, too, so that adds to their experience. They sat us in a room with a door, and that was lovely because it gave us some privacy and toned down the noise. For me, that was the best part of our brunch outing. We stopped by the bakery before leaving, and my husband loaded up on his favorites, and I got a loaf of San Francisco sourdough (which I ate a bit of the next day, and it was delicious). I haven't been here in years, and I probably won't be back for a while, but I will return because it's a family favorite. Maybe I'll just stick with fries and some toast next time!

**Lumber House Brewery: A Masterpiece of Craft Brewing--But Let's Talk About the Concrete Elephant…read morein the Room** Lumber House Brewery is not just **good**--it is a **revelation**, a divine temple of hops and barley, a sanctuary where beer enthusiasts gather to worship at the altar of pure, liquid perfection. The brews here? **Impeccable.** The balance of flavors, the craftsmanship, the sheer dedication poured into every pint--this is the kind of beer that **rewires your brain chemistry**, rendering all lesser beverages obsolete. The food? **Legendary.** A burger so impossibly juicy it deserves its own Netflix documentary. Fries that crunch with a level of precision that suggests **some sort of alchemical wizardry is at play**. Each dish is not just **prepared**--it is **engineered**, designed for maximum indulgence and unrestrained joy. The staff? **Incredible.** Friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about their craft. Every conversation with them feels like a TED Talk on the art of brewing, and yet **somehow more engaging**. And yet--**AND YET**--let us address the single most inexplicable contradiction in human history: **LUMBER HOUSE BREWERY IS LOCATED IN A CONCRETE TILT-UP BUILDING.** Read that again. Slowly. Let it sink in. Lumber House Brewery--the very name **evokes images of rustic timber lodges**, cozy wood-paneled beer halls, the scent of sawdust mingling with the comforting aroma of freshly poured stouts. You hear "Lumber House," and you **expect** beams, planks, a structure that whispers of heritage, craftsmanship, and the sturdy embrace of dimensional lumber. But no. **Concrete.** Gray, impersonal, **unapologetically industrial concrete**. Tilted up like some sort of affront to the very concept of its name. It is an irony so stark, so **mercilessly hilarious**, that one cannot help but admire the sheer audacity of it. This is not just **a choice**--this is a **statement**, a deliberate defiance of expectations, an architectural plot twist so profound it rivals the greatest mysteries of our time. Could they have constructed a grand wooden brewery, rich in timber and nostalgic warmth? Absolutely. But instead, they **rebelled**. They chose strength over sentiment, functionality over theme, and in doing so, they **cemented--literally and figuratively--their place in history**. And somehow? **It works.** So go. Step into Lumber House Brewery's **glorious contradiction**, revel in the fact that **despite its lack of lumber**, it delivers one of the **most unforgettable** brewery experiences imaginable. Five stars. And a **moment of stunned silence for the irony**.

It's not a huge place but they have plenty of seating and comfortable brewery ambiance. Food and beer is ordered at the bar and they bring the food to wherever you're sitting. We were on a bit of time crunch and just grabbed seats at the bar. Since it was an in between meal period, they weren't super busy which was perfect. We both ordered the burger special which was a bacon bleu burger which comes with waffle fries. The waffles fries are fantastic, and an underrated fry choice, IMO. They were hot and crispy. Burgers were loaded but the knock on them was that they were over cooked for both my wife and I, while also being small compared to the bun. Overall, the flavor was still good and along with good beers (we got the Kolsch & Pale Ale) it was a 4 star experience. When we were getting ready to leave, a guy at the end of the bar received his pretzel order and it looked delicious. Will definitely come back and try that next time!

A/C reduces the humidity as well. Being sticky and muggy while eating sucks! Change this! We melt in the PNW above 72F! WTHeck? Customers comfort before saving pennies! Install ceiling fans to move the air as well would help. Besides the customer is always right. Get the A/C fixed or UPGRADED. Otherwise the place is nice. The tables and chairs appear to be made from SOLID WOOD! Impressive quality. A good layout that is not loud or echoing. The wait staff was awesome. She was so apologetic about the heat. I felt bad for the workers in that hot environment. Service was prompt and drinks refilled in a timely manner. The order was right. It was a little slow to arrive but there was a large party in the main area, right of the front door. I ordered Teriyaki chicken. Sorry that was NOT TERIYAKI! It was BBQ sauce chicken. LEARN what teriyaki is. Try Dr Yoshida's sauce to marinade it atleast. Once I accepted my expectation of teriyaki was dashed, it was excellent. The chicken was moist and tender. Not like some that are tough old birds. It has a good, not to sweet BBQ, tomato sauce flavor. The dinner salad with it's croutons was great. The Thousand Island was homemade and good. The rice pilaf had real, large, tender chunks of carrots and was delicious. When they did not have white rice with the teriyaki I should have suspected something, yet the pilaf was excellent. The portions are HUGE! Be prepared to take some home or be filled! The pies looked great, but had NO room for them! Darn. A side note, the LOUNGE section WAS COOL like the restaurant should be.

At first, we were going to be sat at a booth (clearly not the best decision as there wasn't enough room for all of us) My uncle is handicapped so it was difficult for him to get up again and make another circle around the restaurant. After we were seated, our orders were taken in a decent amount of time. Food took a good 35 minutes. I'd understand if there were more customers in the restaurant (now I see why there was not). But it was literally just myself and my family. Not busy whatsoever. Some of the food came and then the other plates we ordered took another 15 minutes. I asked the waitress three times for some soda. By the third time, she finally brought the beverages to our table. Being that we were right by the kitchen and she kept passing by, I don't see how difficult it would be to check in on paying customers. We weren't asked how the food tasted, or if there were refills needed - nothing. My family member asked twice for more napkins. She got 3 whole napkins each time. I asked once and got two napkins. No refills for the water or the soda and the senior discount was not taken off at the end. The waitress was so quick to watch me filling out the receipt to see if she got a tip. That isn't the first time I had to ask twice if the senior discount was taken off for my family members (who were paying for the meal so I know this can easily be done seeing as it is offered right there on the menu) Discount was not taken off. Checking in on guests never happened. I might as well have gone back to get the napkins myself. No refills for soda or coffee. The water was brought at the end of the meal. This is not how you run an establishment. Hope they make some changes.
