We ate at Grappa in February 2009. This was our third time to eat there. We were seated at a tablle jammed into a column. The tables were so close together that neither the patrons nor the wait staff could move. One entrée was undercooked and the other was tasteless. The waiter disappeared after the entrees were served. The restaurant was uncomfortably hot inside. We have eaten there before and were very pleased. The problem appears to be that they have maximized the seating beyond their ability to efficiently serve their patrons. read more

Good food but poor service. Really over-priced for what it is. We booked in advance for 8pm, but still had to wait around 30 minutes. Once placed, we realized that our table was for two, but they squeezed the 3 of us (really disappointing). My wife spent the rest of the night having waiters bumping into her chair... Food was quite good, although menu choice is not impressive for an Italian upscale restaurant. Espresso is to be improved (taste like water). Definitely over-priced. read more

First time to Park CIty. Beautiful restaurant and excellent food. The Osso Bucco was outstanding, Service excellent. We had small party of 4 in center table, thankfully made a reservation last Friday night. Excellent wine and even accomodated my gluten free daughter for her pasta dish. Pricey but so is every place in Park City. I recommended Grappa to friends. (great grappa too) Donna Columbia, MD read more

I am a foodie from San Francisco who has eaten at a lot of restaurants all over the world, in my time. With my credentials explained, this is one of my favorite restaurants IN THE WORLD. Amazing flavors with interesting variety...not your regular "Italian Restaurant" menu. A refreshing take on Italian Fare, funny, bright and charming wait staff, great atmosphere and ambiance... Lots of seating choices from little corner nooks to in front of the fire tables... Prices match the quality of the food. You HAVE to check this place out if you are in Park City! read more

This is a great restaurant. Unfortunately it is an expensive restaurant. That is why my husband and I only visit Grappa (and some other $$$ restaurants) during the summer and fall. There is a Park City tradition of restaurants offering 2-4-1 coupons to "lure" diners when it is slow. We have become expert "coupon clippers". Thanks to the coupons we have eaten here countless times and have never had a "bad meal" or anything closed to a "bad meal". The wine and drink selection is good too, but again, they don't give anything away here. Some of the other reviewers have commented that those "trashing" Grappa don't know what they are talking about. I have to agree. I enjoy each and every visit. read more

We have been loyal patrons for several years and I opted to bring my Mother here for her Birthday. It literally took 30 minutes for the server to acknowledge our table and another 25 minutes for us to get a salad. We were so tired by the time the dinner arrived an hour and a half later, that we could not eat it. It was the servers grand idea to offer us a box of dessert cookies to apologize for the dismal service. The food is pretty good, but the overall experience was really disappointing. read more

Amazing food and such a romantic enviornment. The food is classic and classy. The chef had out done himself. The food is amazing love the Flatbread and the food is something you can only get at a place like Grappa. It had a modern spin on classics. My taste buds loved this place. I have read some of the negative reviews and am dissapointed the restaurant is old and that is what makes it unique and only something you can get on main street. The food is worth the money- this is an up class restaurant!! Loved it will be back- again and again! read more

Had a wonderful dinner during the Sundance Film Festival. This is one of their busiest weeks and a special menu was provided. The meals and service were great as always. We were a party of 6 and everyone agreed it was a terrific dinner. read more

Was highly recommended but fell a bit short of expectations. Very friendly waiter, prompt service but the food fell a bit short of what I expected. Had a pasta dish, tasted good but not great. had a bottle of wine recommended by the waiter and that was a disappointment-do not get the Quercito riserva 2010 chianti, either it had gone over or the wine just is not worth the 58 dollars. read more

This place is fantastic! Everything tastes homemade, our server was great, and the ambiance was amazing! Try and sit on the patio if you can. My husband is the pickiest eater in the world, and he was obsessed with the lasagna! The presentation of the food is fantastic as well. I had the risotto, best I've had in my life. We will definitely be coming back! read more

We stopped in for drinks and an appetizer last night, thinking that if we were impressed, we'd stay for dinner. We ordered the grape salad (on multiple reviews' recommendations), I got a Manhattan and my wife ordered the grappa spritz. Sadly, we were underwhelmed. Nothing was "bad," it was just "meh." And for $50, we honestly felt ripped off. We decided not to stay for dinner. read more

I'm surprised by the mixed reviews as our experience was fantastic! Very friendly waitstaff and quick service. Every dish we had was fantastic. They bring out bread with a mystery homemade sauce that I could eat on EVERYTHING. We shared the artichoke flatbread which is something you must try - and then dip crusts in the sauce. Both of our pasta dishes were excellent. Romantic ambiance and nice location at the top of Main Street. We'll definitely be back when we are in Park City again. read more

Great ambience! Three floors of dining. Located on the Main Street of park city. Service was acceptable but nothing special. Menu had several offerings with a good choice of appetizers. Trouble is the food was just ok. Nothing special at all. Pricing was high. So overall I'd say it ok at best. read more

My wife and I were in town and stopped in to Grappa on Friday evening. We've eaten here numerous times in the past. They seated us before our reservation time which is unheard of and greatly appreciated. My wife's salad was great and the presentation was nice. I had the spaghetti and she had the salmon. I have to say hers was better than mine. The only disappointing thing was the mark up on the wine. It was pretty high and as wine drinkers we always expect to pay double when dining out but this seemed to more like 300%. Overall good dinner and great ambiance. read more

Wanted to place a to go order and was summarily dismissed. Thanks Grappa!

Absolutely the WORST restaurant I have ever been too. An Italian restaurant with no pasta. 1) Overpriced. $40 entrees with only about 5 to choose from. 2) Poor Customer Service. Had a problem with the wine, they would not budge. 3) Cramped environment. The waiter could not even reach my side of the table. 4) Food quality was atrocious. We ordered 1 of each appetizer, didn't enjoy any of them. 5) Bad idea for your birthday. No birthday cake. With a $300 bill, you'd expect cake. STAY AWAY. Grappa = Crappa. read more

We decided to give Grappa a second try. The first time we went there several years ago, they gave us an awful table back by the kitchen and the restroom, and to make matters worse, the service was lousy. This time, we were the first patrons at the restaurant, and they took us upstairs and tried to give us a table in a small alcove in the back of the room. It took some doing, but we did get a table up front near the windows. The service was attentive and the food was a mixed experience. The osso bucco was very good, but the Brussel sprouts which are served with the osso bucco were severely underdone. I've had better bolognese, but my friend loved her risotto with duck. read more

The food was just...meh. For the price point I expected more mastery in their cooking. Not a repeat.

got the pork and it was the most tender juicy delicious pork chop ever! husband got the spaghetti and he really enjoyed his as well. :) the ambiance is sweet and romantic. the flat bread was also really good read more

After all the hype this beautifuly appointed restaurant fell way short. Why am I writing this review? Start at the beginning. The hostess was very nice to us, even though we had a hard time deciding whether to dine inside or outside. Both were equally great. We went for outside. Waiter was ok, he didn't come across as really that interested in us. Wine was good, had the muscato asti, very refreshing. He said the two best dishes were the salmon and the osso bucco. So we had them. Both very disappointing. I had the veal shank, osso bucco, and I have to admit very tender but I didn't enjoy the flavor, while the polenta was ok, it wasn't the best flavor I've ever had. My wife had the salmon. She asked for it to be cooked well. It wasn't except on the thinner edges. We did have the mushroom soup to start and it was excellent. Thus three stars for soup, wine and ambiance. The final put off for me and why I'm really writing this review? When I booked the reservation I let them know we were celebrating our 47th anniversary. Now I know they're not obligated to provide anything but almost if not every restaurant we've gone to for anniversary dinner over many years provided a complimentary drink or dessert to help you mark the occasion. Grappa? Nada! Zip! So that was the icing on the cake, oh yeah, there was no cake or anything else. And that's really why I'm writing this review. read more

Went there on NYE with a large party of 9. Eddie, our server, was rude from the very beginning. He was ticked off when we weren't ready to order within minutes of arrival and literally told us to order quickly because they're really crowded. We had exactly 1 hour and 15 minutes for dinner. At dessert time, he asked whether we'd like to order digestifs or whether we were on our way out. I've never been treated so poorly. The tip was included on this $800+ bill. Unbelievable. read more

Great place in PC. We had dinner on Sunday night and from the excellent server to the dessert, we were not disappointed. We began with the Flat Bread appetizer daily chef special, which consisted of Pork Belly Onions, Spinach, cheese, and red sauce. It was delicious. We love mushrooms and their Mushroom soup was outstanding. We had noted a sweet flavor and found out that the chef adds a little sherry in it. Highly recommend if u love mushrooms. Then my wife had the mushroom Lasagna and I had the Osso Bucco. Both were cooked excellently and were very tasteful. The Osso Bucco was accompanied with Brussels Sprouts that were one of the best eaten by me. Finally, we had the Almond Affocato for dessert which consisted of a delicious combination of gelato, expresso, biscotti's and a Almond cake. Our sever Sarah recommended a bottle of red wine from Italy called Santa Guistina. Great recommendation Sarah!!!The meal, service, and experience met our expectations with the monies we spent for Dinner. read more

We got a 2 for 1 entree special (due to it being the slow season). I got the osso buco and my husband got the filet mignon. Both were very good and paired well with the wine our waitress helped us pick out. Service was great and food was delicious. read more

Had the whole roasted branzino fish. Cooked to perfection. It was moist and the skin was crispy. Atmosphere was great b/c we were seated at a corner table where we could hear ourselves talk. Service was excellent. read more

My wife and I eat here every time we're in Park City (2-3 times/yr). The food is good, although I wish the menu were more extensive. In traditional European style though, there are limited main course selections, but they are all very good. I love the different and unexpected flavors you'll find here. We've brought our kids here too, who are very well behaved in restaurants as we eat out multiple times a week, and the staff didn't seem to appreciate that we brought our kids. But like most places, once they realized that the kids behave well, they were friendly enough. 4 stars for the food and waitstaff. 2 stars for the hostesses. read more

The restaurant has a really neat vibe in an old house. We had the calamari and lobster ravioli for appetizers. I had the butternut squash cannoli. Everything was beautifully prepared with perfectly sized portions. read more

Flat bread was excellent! Pricey but good. Service was very nice.

Best Place in town to eat. I extremelly recomend. Also Geri Beth was the server. She is the best. Helped us with the plates, drinks, deserts and was extremelly friendly and knowledgeable. read more

Food was ok. Cost of food was ridiculous! Service was horrible. We were with our cousins from out of town so there was 8 of us. They automatically added 20% gratuity. Therefore the wait staff felt no need to wait on us. Our waitress forgot our appetizers. Our children sat with no bread on our table for at least 20 mins. Tables that were sat after us had bread. We had to go ask for the bread. She finally brought one of the three appetizers we ordered, which was roasted olives, they looked like raisins! What a joke! I do not recommend this restaurant. read more

Great service and wine, food very so so. More than underwhelmed. I had the pork tenderloin which was overcooked and dry.

This is probably my favorite restaurant in Park City. Have no idea why it is not a minimum of four yelp stars as the service is great, environment relaxing and the food superb. Our server (Katie) and busboy (Dillon) were wonderful....informative, attentive and engaging...what more to ask for....oh a great martini with blue cheese stuffed olives, and great pasta. Looking forward to my next visit perhaps in a month. read more

My family and I visited your restaurant 6 days ago while vacationing from Virginia and was very disappointed with the service. We were seated in an awkward section of the restaurant away from everyone. When asked about it, the hostess was very apologetic and offered to seat us elsewhere, but explained that a large party occupied the upper level. Our food came out so fast that we could not complete eating our salads, also justified by the kitchen staff not wanting to be behind due to the large upstairs party. While the food was flavorful, I was not impressed with the service. I felt like I was eating "off from the kitchen". For such a pricey and historical establishment, we did not feel welcomed and our dinner experience was over in less than an hour leaving our appetites unsatisfied. Unfortunately, I will not have fond memories of this experience. read more

I was kind of disappointed by this place. Someone recommended it to me and my girlfriend and since it was during winter we had to sit inside. The decor was kind of outdated and the food was kind of over priced for how it tasted in my opinion. I drive by it in the summer and see the beautiful outdoor seating and think maybe I'll try it again sometime so I give it 3 stars in hopes it will redeem itself when that time comes. read more

Our experience the other night over the holidays was frustrating and beyond disappointing. I wish we had the sense to walk out before our orders were placed. The hostesses claimed we never made a reservation, when we did so with our concierge in early November. It wasn't until I got the concierge to call them that they miraculously "found" our reservation. Unfortunate for us. A half hour later we were escorted to a table stuffed in an alcove off the reception area. When we asked for a better table we went upstairs to a nice table. That was the end of anything "nice" about our dining experience. We waited about 15 minutes for water and menus, then after another 15 minutes finally asked the water server to get our waiter. He came out and asked if we had any questions about the menu. Huh?!! We asked if there were any specials, etc. Oh, and by the way could we have some drinks and bread?? Then, since almost an hour had elapsed since we walked in, we went ahead and ordered our meals. Trying to get drink refills or any attention at all was near to impossible. The meals when they came, were tepid warm and mediocre, and overall our stomachs were in knots the whole night. Couldn't wait to end a really bad (and ridiculously expensive) dining experience. Our waiter was one of the worst we've encountered in years-- had an attitude of "I suck as a waiter and I don't care-- I'll never see you again." It was especially annoying to see him be so attentive to the table that came in after us... drinks and dinner were prompt for them! We are from the DC area, travel a lot and I can say it's been quite some time since we've had food and service this abysmal. Do yourself a favor and don't go to Grappa. Oh and by the way-- one of the hostesses told us they had "way overbooked" that week. Nice!! They are money grubbers, taking advantage of people coming to Park City over the holidays looking for a nice dining experience. read more

Yet another excellent Bill White restaurant - but expensive, so we only go there when there are low season two for one coupons. $56 for rib eye steak is a little over the top, even for a special night out. And $25 for corkage is outrageous. That being said, the four of us enjoyed our meals. One diner was vegan, and the server made sure she was happy with how everything was prepared. I loved my beet salad, however it was a little heavy on the honey (disclaimer. I don;t eat anything sweet). The Branzino was excellent. My husband's risotto was a rather gluggy, I'd avoid this. There are so many better options. The vegie lasagne was stellar. Top marks to our server, who was pleasant and knowledgeable. read more

I've been to Grappa many times over the years. As I write this I'm waiting to be seated. The restaurant is hopelessly crowded and reservations are running very, very late. The staff is obviously frustrated and rude. Worst experience ever at Grappa. I don't if I should laugh or cry. read more

Food was kind of disappointing. Not terrible but just meh- ok. Definitely overpriced for the quality. $150+ for 3 dinner entrees & 1 app salad. No beverages or alcohol. Service was good though, very attentive wait staff. Would not recommend this place. read more

Not sure why we read some less than stellar reviews, but our experience this evening was fantastic! We were seated at an intimate table for four upstairs, our server Kara could not have been more accommodating or genuinely charming! We began with a wonderful super-Tuscan wine, some fantastic soup and soufflé, osso buco and eggplant rollatini and finished with a great cannoli. If you are fortunate enough to be in Park City for dinner, don't miss a chance to dine at Grappa! read more

The food and the service were terrific. We started with the antipasto for two, which was really enough for four, and it was just perfect selection of meats and cheeses along with a duck confit that was just splendid. The antipasti is a must. We also had the fried calamari. Fried calamari comes in two types, really bad and really good. This happened to be really, really good. For entrees we had the osso buco, the risotto which is made fresh to order and is enough for 14 people except for the fact that my 11year-old daughter ate all but about two tablespoons full. My son had the flatbread and the chicken. The chicken was a Italian-seasoned chicken. It was very good. The osso buco was absolutely amazing. They serve it with the bone of course and you have the bone marrow and they accurately included a bone marrow fork which was perfect. Great wine list, terrific service. We sat outside which if you're here in the appropriate season is the exact right thing to do. This restaurant is really, really terrific. read more

It has been a few years since we have dined here and it did not disappoint. First of all, the ambiance was beautiful on the patio. Our waitress was excellent and the food was delicious. The artichoke flatbread was a great appetizer to share. I had the branzino which was perfectly prepared and my husband had the mushroom lasagna which was hearty and delicious. A nice touch is that if you order cocktails or a glass of wine they waive your corkage fee. I like this restaurant in the winter but love it in the summer. read more
