We did not have reservations but they got us in for a late dinner and while we waited we had a nice glass of wine. The menu options were great and the wait staff very helpful in answering our questions. They have the tables separated with hanging drapes and it creates a very cozy atmosphere. read more

The ambiance was lovely. The atmosphere was superb. The interior/decor/layout was unique and quaint. The food....disappointing. For $22 the fondue didn't have enough dipping foods, which was sad because that was the best part of the entire meal. The cheese was great! The spaghetti was interesting. It was just tomatoes and onions and red peppers, it wasn't very 'saucy', which is fine(to each his own, right?), but it was just bland. The onions should have been caramelized or sauteed beforehand or something, and there should have been a little more marinara or something. The noodles were tough to chew, and seemed like they were straight out of a grocery store package. Something was definitely off about them. Tiramisu was great, I would highly recommend the dessert. But overall, the dinner was disappointing. I had high expectations for a pricey restaurant in Park City. read more

Ambience outside is charming, unique bread, every entree ordered was beautiful presented, fresh and tasty.

Very nice atmosphere and excellent service, but really the food is the best. Absolutely first rate and an excellent traditional Italian menu with a terrific wine list. read more

In the rolodex of nice places to eat at in PC, this is a skip. We were very disappointed in the entire experience. The saving grace was our beautiful table on the second floor with a sunlit view of shimmering trees. In a nutshell, our server acted more like a hash house waitress. She questioned us multiple times for our order when our menus were still in hand and nary two sips from our drinks made. Lordy, just let us get settled and take it all in for a moment! The three courses we ordered came out in rapid fire succession and in a period of 15 minutes, we were served the calamari (the best thing of the night), our salads, and then BOOM, our entrees. The way our entrees were presented to us made my blood pressure rise! Here she comes, holding both plates and plops the osso buco down first.....then with her free hand my hash house honey scoops up my salad plate with one hand and plops my duck confit down. Worse, both dishes were lukewarm. Congealed polenta. Surprisingly, duck breast was part of my dish even though it was not featured in the menu. I sure wish my HHH would have let me know so she could have asked me how I would liked to have had it cooked, because gray greasy skin and medium was not my choice. As it was my birthday, we ordered dessert. Our HHH brings our shared affogato (no bueno to boot) flatly announcing, here's your birthday dessert, with the candle, it's on us. Bad food is served here and BAD KARMA too! read more

The restaurant is adorable, an historic building at the top of Main Street. The food was good, although quite limited for those of us who do not eat meat or fish. Italian is generally a good choice for vegetarian options, but not Grappa. My polite and gentlemanly husband said to the hostess as we were leaving, that she might pass this suggestion along to the chef, and her response was dismissive and maddeningly rude. A hostess is the first and last impression, and after a nice meal to have someone behave in such a way actually bothered me so much that I'm writing my first bad Yelp review. Dear owner, if she's your daughter, best of luck to you. If she is an employee, you may want to do a little workshop on her off hours and go over manners and common courtesy. read more

Please see original review below. I don't write bad reviews often as you have to be really bad to irritate Larry, so he gives a wide birth. BUT, didja ever wonder about owners who reply with obtuse responses? " Oh, so sorry, would like to respond to you personally. Call my people cuz I don't actually want to talk to you." That's how this owner responds. Plus he has a canned set of words. Seriously, how bad do you have to be to write a canned response to be ready to paste into a bad review? Sheesh! Enough said, methinks. ------------------//----------------- Oh, man, I just hate to write another bad review about a Bill White restaurant, but I just gotta go there. This isn't just about the food, service or ridiculous prices, but it is mostly about the "Kiasu (Me First) attitude of the people there. First the food though. Basic Italian like the other "G" restaurant down at Kimball Junction. Several people have commented on the steak which surprised Big Larry as there are better steak places by far here in town including Prime and Ruth's Chris. Larry notices they change chefs about every season and the menu goes from interesting to yech at the change of the seasons. Prices are vomitously obscene. If you are a tourist visiting and want a really expensive mediocre restaurant that is well situated, then this is a place but I rarely encounter a person who gives this place an "I go there regularly" compliment. Service is offendingly snooty and lackluster. Larry's big problem is with the filthy and disgusting way these folks handle their refuse. They drag it out the door and down the street to a big metal bin and play trash horseshoes with it; meaning that close gets points. This trash bin is in a parking lot so all of the visitors to this beautiful city get to see gross, disgusting food scraps and garbage tossed in and around this area. It attracts rats and unleashed dogs and is sickening! There are doors for the bin which are never closed and are regularly broken and off the hinges. Larry wonder if this is the pride these folks take in their waste disposal then what kind of filth gets into the overpriced pasta and what level of cleanliness is maintained in the kitchen? Don't believe me, take a gander of the plethora of discarded crap in and around the bin and notice the "Grappa" labels on the boxes. Boo, you guys are an embarrassment to this wonderful community. read more

My husband and I had a great experience at Grappa for our last night in Park City. We had a very active day outside and showed up with our tank tops on, without reservations, and never felt out of place. The wait staff were amazing; Leon was so personable , professional and knowledgable about the menus. He made our dining experience more enjoyable and fun! We loved the shaded outdoor seating and very charming atmosphere. read more

This was a solid Italian meal in a nice atmosphere. Let's start with the positives. We all really enjoyed our food. I had the spaghetti and meatballs. I know, I know: BASIC. But after a difficult first day skiing, I just wanted an old standard. And this version was great. The homemade spaghetti noodles were chewy and just delightful. The sauce was great. The meatballs were a strange, softer consistency, but had really nice flavor. My boyfriend liked the pork chop, and his dad liked his fish. The wine selection was nice. Our waiter was just plain socially awkward, and wasn't really very attentive at all. I'm not going to sit here and list all the things he did wrong, but it just was kinda shocking for a very nice, expensive restaurant. The service just didn't match the food for us that night. I'd recommend this place for sure, but if you are going to pay this much for dinner, go for the quality and service you get down the street at Riverhorse on Main. read more

A must while in Park City! Located at the end of Main Street in a cute rustic home. During the cold weather, they keep the inside warm and cozy. They have a wonderful selection of wines and all the food is true Italian! The entrees are big enough to share between two people if you also get a few appetizers. Will definitely be back! read more

Disappointed. We made a reservation for 7:15 on Saturday, which we were on time for. We waited an additional 30 minutes for our table to be ready. It was busy and they appeared to be understaffed. We were understanding with challenges restaurants have due to social distancing. We were finally seated and brought water then sat for another 30 minutes before getting up and leaving. We ended up eating at Firewood nearby on Main St, which was awesome! read more

From start to finish our experience was amazing. Our server Patrick was top notch! He didn't rush our table as we finished and the restaurant had closed. The bread to start and their dipping sauce is something I've never tasted, but is everything! We had grilled olives, Brussels, and calamari and every single thing was perfect. I ordered the lobster ravioli for dinner and I am still thinking about it. It doesn't skimp on the lobster it was delicious!!! Everyone else's entrees were also amazing. I may have to plan a trip back to Park City just to eat here again!! read more

In town for one night and had to make last minute reservations since Butcher's lost power and had to close. Grappa was able to accommodate us. Great service, nice atmosphere, good food, but priced too high for the experience. Usually great service and food, until today. They wouldn't seat us past 10 pm, then before we were even seated we were told the kitchen was closing. I've been wanting to dine at Grappa for some time now, and I was apprehensive to do so after reading some of the reviews, but our overall dining experience was outstanding and I am so looking forward to going back! The food was amazing flavor even though our osso buco was cold. Very poor service. Had to ask to have our water filled. Did not get our wine until after the main dish was delivered. Leon was our waiter and he did not divide our main dish as we were sharing and then it took him 5 min to get us plates making our meal colder. We could see another waiter working hard and attending the customers in a timely manner. The place was nice and cute but we got seated at a table for 2 in a walkway. They claimed it was very busy and fully booked with reservations but we saw 4 tables for four that were empty which would have made our experience more pleasurable if we were seated at one of those. We definitely expected better service at this expensively priced restaurant. We will not be coming back. read more

A pre-Christmas formal dining, the drinks we good. Not disappointing, but not better than expected. Mushroom soup was very good, almost outstanding. The mista salad, very tasty, fresh and colorful. Paso bunco fell off the bone had wonderful flavor, but the creamy polenta really needed the sauce... of which there was not enough. The duck risotto was loaded with delicate balance and flavor, the accompanying chutney was the bomb... all in all, we would go back for more. read more

Fabulous service, food and Ambiance! The food was 5 stars hands down, elaborate cocktail list and wines Highly recommend

I had dinner there last Ski season and thought I would review it, since I'm planning on returning to PC this season. Food was decent , but overpriced for Italian cuisine. Portions were modest and had to fill up on bread or I would have left hungry. After skiing all day wanted a little more substance for the price. Food Service was good and didn't have to wait to get seated. My rating was given based on value for price. Great view of the town, however; it was a little noisy because of the hardwood flooring. I might give it another look this Ski season, but will have to see. read more

The rosemary bread and balsamic dip are AMAZING! From seater to server, staff was genuine, honest, friendly and helpful in recommendations. So glad we came here! We booked a table for two for valentines night , it was a 3 course meal $70 per person . It is a beautiful restaurant and we had a very nice table , service was great unfortunately food was mediocre, calamari was average , salad was below average and Osso Bucco was average and salmon was below average, so for fine dining experience it was very disappointing specially when you spend $250 and they don't even offer you a simple desert or pice of chocolate on valentines evening. I will not be returning. read more

Searching for an Italian restaurant on the Yelp App, we found Grappa. Since it only had 3 Stars, we asked the staff at the hotel we were staying at about this restaurant....they raved about it. So we decided to give it a try. It's situated a the end of the shopping area on Main St, which for a non-resident can be tough to spot at night. We parked across the street in the parking lot, which is metered. Don't worry, the meters accept credit cards, so you don't have to worry about coins or cash. We were seated at a table next to the window on the 2nd floor of the restaurant, which gave us a nice view of Main St and part of the valley. It was very nice since it was near sunset. After browsing the menu, I decided to order: Spinach & Goat Cheese Gnocchi (Roasted Tomato Pomodoro, Preserved Lemon, Aged Goat Cheese) Spaghetti alla Chittara (Spicy Meatballs, Roasted Onions & Peppers, Fresh Herbs, Pecorino Romano, Arrabbiata Sauce) The Better Half and I love Gnocchi, so we split that appetizer. It was awesome. The Aged Goat Cheese gave it a nice sharp flavor which went well with the Tomato Pomodoro....yum! The Spaghetti was really good too. I like spicy food, so it was nice to have Spaghetti & Meatballs with a little spicy kick. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Our Wine glasses were never empty until we were ready to leave. Of course, before we left I had to have a glass of Grappa.....how could I dine in a restaurant called Grappa and not have a glass?! Overall, it was a very pleasant dinner experience. I will come back the next visit to Park City. Return Factor - 90% read more

When reading reviews it's sometimes hard to tell which opinion is right. Trust the negative reviews of Grappa. The server was extremely nice. The kitchen was terrible. We waited 90 minutes for a kids spaghetti and piece of lasagna. The spaghetti was canned pasta quality, literally. The meatballs were raw. The lasagna had oil literally pooling around it. I ended up giving it back to them. They were nice enough to not charge for the food...but made me pay for my one glass of wine and one bottle of water! They wasted what was supposed to be a nice father-daughter dinner. Luckily the pizza place a few minutes away was open and we had dinner. Worst of all, after reading all of the bad reviews I was going to cancel my reservation. I didn't because I thought it couldn't be that bad. I promise you it's exactly as the bad reviews say it is. read more

our meal at Grappa was disappointing. we had been looking forward to a good Italian dinner. we were there with our 15 year old grandson. what we got was overcooked calamari, no taste pasta and poorly prepared eggplant patimes an. First off, I want to make sure I have the correct restaurant before I continue this review. An average of 3.5 stars does not at all reflect this place. Across five days in Park City, this ranks up there with the best meals we had in town, and I'm scratching my head trying to figure out what others saw, tasted or focused on that we did not. Who knows? The point is if you're reading this review and the score still shows an average of 3.5 stars, ignore that; Grappa is an essential restaurant to experience. Three of us stopped in one Sunday evening for dinner, and the place was bustling. There is a lot across the street you can park in, and this is actually not a bad idea as you can better appreciate the building as you walk up to its doors. Basically, Grappa is gorgeous from the outside and impossibly more appealing on the inside. (Granted, it used to be a brothel so it was possibly even more gorgeous back in the day, if you know what I mean.) As you walk in, the hostess desk is straight ahead, while a dining room spreads out to the left. We confirmed our reservations (score one point for Opentable integration!) and the gal behind the desk took our coats for us. She could not have been friendlier, and she walked us up the stairs to our table. There is not a bad seat in the house upstairs, as far as I'm concerned. Some tables look out the windows, some surround the balcony and one is kind of nestled off into an alcove that provides a good amount of privacy, I'm thinking. The whole place looks like a house in the European countryside, with a warm atmosphere to match. Apologies to the first server who greeted us as I do not remember her name! She was delightful, and she explained that she and Brian (our main server) had the second floor that evening. The duo were exceptional at making sure all their tables had what they needed, be it another cocktail (get The Hugo) or directions to the bathroom (back in the corner, and be prepared to wait if visiting during a busy meal). They were just as accommodating to newcomers (us) as they were to the regulars in town (who knew you can bring your own wine here for a fair fee). Brian got us started with a round of appetizers that perfectly set the stage for the fantastic meal our tastebuds were about to enjoy. The mushroom soup was flavorful, the bread was dangerously tasty and the cioppino was... actually, let's talk about the cioppino for a second. Cioppino is my favorite soup/stew/mess out there, and this deserves to sit with the best variations I have had. If you love seafood, garlic and the possibility that you will not be kissing anyone the rest of the night, start with this dish! Moving onto the entrees, we ordered the chicken, pork chop and ossobuco. All three were outstanding, succulent and vying for supremacy with the respective side items we got. In fact, up until now, I forgot my pork chop came with ravioli. And the saddest part here is the ravioli was delicious! It's just that the pork chop was in a class by itself. By now our stomachs were catching up to our eyes and we were struggling to find room for dessert. Fortunately, there is a cookie platter you can order, and the three of us leapt at the chance to finish this off. We couldn't, but we gave it a solid effort! Chocolate, coconut and other varieties filled the plate and combined with a cup of coffee make for a perfect combo to fight that winter weather outside. Grappa was an absolute joy to dine at, and will easily be in our rotation the next time we come to town. Maybe by then the 3.5-star average will have rightly increased. read more

Grappa is a great, relaxing place for a good meal, and a nice glass of wine. I have been here a few times and I make my own decision based on what the locals tell me. I ate here yesterday, and before I post this, I read some of the reviews. First, when you go to a higher end restaurant, a $25 corking fee is the norm. Second, if you are bitching about the price, really? Ask to look at the menu before you sit down and order. Someone made a comment that, "The food was better than average but not worth the premium price", tells me that your expectations here were never going to met. Most good restaurants charge higher, because they know their clientele. My advise, if you come here on a budget...go somewhere else. That does two things, one, it will be easier for me to get a table, and second, I do not have to read your review because of things that you didn't like (corking fee, and paying for better than average cuisine). OK... First, this is not NYC, NJ, or Chicago. This is PCU! For PC, this is the best Italian food I have had. 2nd, if you are trying to compare it to your favorite NYC Italian(mine is II Mulino off 3rd St), don't. But, enjoy a very good meal, with above average service. How much did I spend? $200. Did I overpay? No. Was it worth the expense? You bet. I am not a "Wine guy" but we selected a under $50 bottle. I can tolerate a Red and we liked the Boroli Merlot that we selected. We split the Spinach and Goat Cheese Gnocchi and liked the flat bread as well. I have never been a beet fan but the Cinnamon Roasted Beets were delicious. Entrees were the Grappa's Osso Bucco and the Cannelloni. Both were great and the veal was cooked perfectly. We split the Tiramisu and it satisfied. The service was consistent, the dining room inviting, and we did not mind the 45 minute wait, especially on a busy Saturday. See you next year on my winter ski vacation.... read more

We dined at Grappa this evening for the first time. I imagine it is typical for them to be rather slow at 8:00 on a Sunday evening but we largely had the restaurant to ourselves and enjoyed our table near a fireplace, set apart from the larger section of the restaurant. We were greeted promptly and the server was very knowledgeable about both the wine and food menu. She was attentive but not imposing which is a difficult skill to master as a server. We ordered the antipasta, papardelle, grape and pecan salad, scallops, french press coffee, and tiramisu. I would order each item again although most were overpriced. The cheese and meat selection were perfect for an appetizer and nicely balanced with the mustard, pickled grapes, and marinated vegetables. The papardelle was delicious but comparable to what one could get for less than $27. I found the wine menu sufficient with a distinct emphasis on Italian varieties, as one would expect. Overall, our experience was excellent and I was happy to pay for high quality food, a unique ambiance, and superior service. read more

This is the best Italian in Park City, if not the entirety of Utah! The staff are fabulous. The Mushroom soujp was creamy and deliciously flavorful. The salad, perfectly composed and beautifully dressed (the house salad). The calamari lightly fried, delicate batter, wonderful texture, soulful flavor of the sea. My dining companion had the scallops, perfectly cooked, also soul of the sea. A parsnip puree beneath held in the flavors of the caramelization of the scallops adorning it. I had the basic spaghetti and meatballs, and it was a REVELATION--perfectly cooked noodles, a sauce redolent with onions and peppers, the meatballs just like someone's mama used to make... Service was uniformly excellent, Tommy the manager helped us select wines skillfully. The wine list was balanced and fairly priced (we had a Croatian white and some galsses of red, including a barolo and a pinot noir from Torii Mor in oregon), No desert, but next time will try to save some room. Oh, the bradbasket rocked, with the balsamic dipping sauce instead of butter. Several floors of pleasure, been around forever, should get more respect from locals and visitors alike. We went during Sundance, and while crowded, the joint still flowed pretty smoothly. Kudos to the kitchen, since we were the last seating, for perfect pacing and not making us feel rushed, and timing the food to perfection. Just a really great meal all around. I would not call this place a cafe--it is a fine dining experience..! read more

This was definitely a 2 to 3 star experience, though a lot of the rationale is due to the prices. I understand this is Park City, but the food doesn't justify the prices here. The food at Grappa was A-Ok. There were some STELLAR things: most notably, the "gravy" that comes with the bread (some combination of cheese, butter, balsamic, and heaven), and the cioppino. And there were some really-less-than-average-things (the ceasar salad, the lamb pasta dish, which had a very strange almost cinnamon-y flavor that wasn't really identified in the menu, but was obviously missing the olives it said it should have). I personally chose the lamb shank, which was pretty good but not amazing. This place could do better. read more

Blah.... And I didn't have to pick up the check! The most enticing flavors were the Old Vine Zin that was from CALIFORNIA! I can bike down to Safeway and get the same wine that they served for 58.00 a bottle! They would not sit us at 7pm so we all had to truncate our ski/boarding sessions to get to a 6pm seating. The service was decent but the food was to be desired. I ordered the roast duck breast and again, like their sister restaurant Chimayo, found the food just plain boring and tasteless. I ended up grabbed the balsamic vinegar/olive oil mixture that came with the bread and dousing my meal with it. Offend the chef??? oh well, should have given me the salt and pepper or an apron so I could have made a far better meal. The roast pork tenderloin and sea bass that my friends ordered were equally boring... ketchup would have made ths meal bettter!!! This place is overrated and spendy- 250.00pp w/ wine... I could have had a better meal at The Eating Establishment and still had money for 2 days of boarding, but luckily I didn't have to pay for it!!! read more

Went last night. Niciose flat bread is a must, as is lobster ravioli for appetizers. Moved on to Prosciutto asparagus and goat cheese salad - excellent presentation and tasted even better. Entrée was the Osso Bucco - amazing! Pricey but worth it -split items and eat more around the menu! Taste more dishes! :) Dessert? Strawberry rhubarb pastry delite!...sort of gelato-like sandwiched in thin pastry. Excellente'! Finish off the meal with the imported "Grappa" after dinner spirit - sort of Italian moonshine-like! Made a last minute reservation here on a Saturday night after searching all our dinner options on Main Street. I am so glad we didn't listen to the bad reviews for Grappa because we had such a great experience. Our server, MJ, was super helpful, attentive and friendly. We were not an easy table to serve, as half of us have allergies and asked many questions - she never made it an issue. Food was great, too! The bread they brought out with the vinaigrette was so yum. I probably could have passed on the Caesar but we heard the insalata Mista was delicious. I would absolutely go back for my entree, the Bolognese! The filet mignon was another crowd pleaser. Will definitely be back on our next visit to Park City! read more

My wife and I came to park city for 3 nights. The first two dinners were amazing (edge steakhouse and riverhorse on main)...our last night, she wanted pasta, so I looked up the best Italian place, and we landed here. I wish we didn't. 1) we made a reservation on a Saturday night for 7:30. Ordinarily, yes, this is a prime time for restaurants. However, it wasn't season yet, and managing your reservation book shouldn't be such an issue. We arrived 15 mins early and didn't get seated until 7:55. We would have probably waited longer had I not walked up to the 4 hostesses (seriously, why do you have 4+ host staff? And how are you not able to effectively manage your reservations having more staff than reasonably needed?), and told them we would be leaving in two minutes, as more than one party who had arrived after us had been seated already. Needless to say, we were seated. 2) the waiter we had was horrible. Not only did he look at us with disdain as if he hated not only us but his life and job as well, he messed up our orders and killed the vibe. He brought the wrong soup, never brought bread, never came to collect plates, etc. One of the 194831 hostesses would pick up the slack clearing our salad plates half way through our meal. Thanks for that. 3) the food. Just a big MEH. Honestly, for the price, park city has WAY better to offer. Nothing was explicitly bad, but nothing was "oh my god" good either. Dishes to specifically avoid: Ceasar salad, seafood fra diavolo. Overall, there's just no point to going here. The end does not justify the means. Update: the waiter gave us a free tiramisu "courtesy of the management". I think the waiter/host #18 oversaw me writing this review. Too little too late. Oh, and it wasn't that good. Shame. read more

Incredibly overpriced for what you get. $50 for salmon that was undercooked and bland. 15 for an old fashioned that had more ice in it than an igloo. Service was mediocre and rushed.
