We got several dim sum dishes and they were all delicious! The shu mai, eggplant shrimp, and rice roll were our favorites.

It's a regular one for our family. We very much enjoy the food. It's not great, but it's consistently good I would definitely recommend.

I've only been to Grand Oriental and Great Tang's for dim sum. Between the two, I liked Grand Oriental more. There were more items offered, and the food was a little better. Although.... I liked the congee/jook (Rice porridge) from Great Tang's more. The congee at Grand Oriental has a ton more stuff in it though. In addition to the aged duck egg, there's also shredded chicken, and they top it with the crunchy stuff as well as green onion. What I like about Grand Oriental is that their shu mai is made with pork. (It's made with chicken at Great Tang's). Their har gao was good as well. They also had more dishes like their shrimp with chives dumplings okay. I would get it again. But we tried some kind of fishball stuffed thing here, which was okay, it had something stuffed in it that tasted like curry. I'm not sure if I would get that again. I did not like the soup dumplings at Grand Oriental at all. But you can't really compare these to soup dumplings from Din Tai Fung or ROC Kitchen both in LA. The food overall was served kind of lukewarm. Like they had been sitting out for awhile, but we were there on a weekend, about thirty minutes after they had opened. The people working at Grand Oriental were all able to communicate in English so if you're worried about that, then don't. I will be coming back to Grand Oriental. There aren't too many options in Ohio for Dim Sum. read more

Excellent quality and authentic food at fair prices. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys Chinese cuisine.

The dim sum was ok. They have carts and plenty to choose from, but the dim sum itself was not very warm. The shumai were sweet and that was odd. The Hargow was good and the scallion dumplings were good. A plate of char siu was even in the mix. If you don't see something you want, they'll make it for you. Service was good and the restaurant itself is very traditionally decorated as a Chinese restaurant. Prices are fair and not as outrageous as pacific kitchen. Ample parking and when you're done with dim sum Costco is around the corner to finish your weekend chores. read more

This review is only for dim sum (Chinese breakfast) the food was great- however very expensive (it was $70 and we only got 5 small appetizers (no drinks - just water). The service is a bit slow - there wasn't that many items too choose from - I'm used to having at least 40-100 different items to choose from especially during dim sum. read more

I love to come here for DimSum/Chinese breakfast food. They have various choices from dumpling to chicken feet. My fave are the congee, egg tart and sesame ball. Beside great food. The service are great too. The owner often walk around to check on everyone. The food are authentic, hot and fresh. Five point for cleanliness too (you can see the kitchen on the way to the bathroom). I'm not a fan of the bathroom tho, it's way outdated. Overall I would come here every week if could. read more

Came for dim sum on a Saturday morning. Dim sum carts came by semi-infrequently and we felt forgotten by our waitress, but other than that I enjoyed my experience. Their steamed pork buns were incredible. Xiao long bao and gyoza were average. We ordered a few things that we weren't entirely sure what they were, but I think they were minced meat turnover and fried taro root puff. The turnover was good, the taro root puff was a bit disappointing. I was also disappointed with the beef fun roll, which had very little filling. Custard tart for dessert was pleasant. Lo mein was good. Most of the dim sum came with three portions and had a $4.75 price tag. In comparison to other dim sum spots, it seemed like portions were a bit too small or the price was a bit too high. Must-try: steamed BBQ pork bun! read more

Stopped here for dim sum...was getting gas and yelped for a nearby place to get a sandwich and saw this place had dim sum. Was a pleasant surprise! Had these things: *steamed pork buns--tasty *spring rolls--incredible *soup buns (xian lin bao sp?)--fantastic! *shrimp and chive dumpling--looked nice but not for me, didn't like the texture. *scallion pancake--good. I had a large order almost $100.00. The sweet and sour chicken tasted like it was cooked in dirty oil it was not good at All. They left something off my order as well and I was too far when I realized it. It was a disappointing experience. I have had it before and it was good. This time it was NOT! I felt like it was a little expensive but it has been a long time since I've ordered Chinese food, though. I had the General Tso's Chicken and it was really good. We wanted to try something new one weekend, so we went to Grand Oriental for dim sum on a Saturday around noon. It was not crowded at all - in fact, I think there were only 4 other tables active in the whole place. This was our first experience here. My kids had never done dim sum before, and it had been several years since my wife and I had tried it at another place. They have a pretty extensive assortment of dim sum items, but unfortunately one of the servers did not speak clearly, and we could not understand anything she was trying to offer us most of the time. One of the servers was very helpful, and she helped us navigate some of the dishes. They have cart service 10-2pm, but their dim sum items are available throughout the day I think. Our favorites were the sticky buns (filled with bbq pork) and a couple variants on shrimp shumai. Admittedly, most of us were not very adventurous, so we stayed away from the chicken feet and tripe. One of the managers was pretty friendly, and stopped to ask how things were. We told him it was our first time doing dim sum. He offered to swap out anything we didn't like, and we did take him up on that once when we didn't know what we were getting, and got some sort of boiled beef knuckle or something that was not appetizing at all. We probably won't return for dim sum, but I wouldn't be averse to returning to order from the menu. I would recommend having people run the carts that can clearly explain the dishes to people who may be new to to it. read more

The best Chinese in Cincinnati! Very covid friendly and clean! I've never had a bad meal from this establishment. My favorites are the egg rolls (house made spicy mustard and duck sauce that will change your life), mooshu pork, lo mein, sesame chicken, and egg drop soup. Nooooooooo. Just no. This place is gross. The rice was hard. The Kung Po chicken was nasty. The orange chicken was over cooked and really soft. I can't believe this place has four stars when it's so gross. I have no idea what people are ordering from there that is good but stay away from the Kung Po chicken, Orange chicken and white rice. Start with the Crab Rangoon, perfectly fried and rich filling. We haven't gotten too adventurous with the menu but have enjoyed all we have ordered. This includes rice based dishes and Lo Mein. Hidden gem. This restaurant is situated behind a car wash along the busy Fields Ertel auto mall area. It doesn't look like much from outside but inside is an ornate and expansive interior with multiple rooms, full bar, and television. We have gone twice for dinner and been impressed each time. We order dim sum items a la carte like steamed bbq pork buns, shrimp and chive dumplings, and tripe, which were all good. We look forward to visiting on a weekend morning for the full dim sum experience. For dinner we ordered the prix fixe for 2. The fish with black bean sauce was excellent. Tender and flavorful with many veggies and not salty. The Chinese broccoli with fresh garlic is also excellent. We always use this as a gauge at Chinese restaurants. Too often it's too oily and salty, but not here. It was cooked and seasoned to perfection! Our second dinner we ordered a while Peking duck which consists of 3 courses. Appetizer of the skin in mooshu pancakes, a rich broth made from the bones, and a stir fry of the meat with veggies. Each course was again very well cooked and seasoned. Such a treat! The owner and staff are extremely nice. They seemed a little short handed the second time we went, but they really work hard to meet everyone's needs. The food was pretty good. We enjoyed the steamed dumplings and our entrées: General Tso's chicken and Kung Po chicken. I was so excited to try the dim sum here but was sadly disappointed on many fronts. While the restaurant decor is lovely, the staff seemed pretty tired, impatient, and it took awhile for them to serve us. The selection of dim sum was quite limited and they didn't come around very often to see if we wanted something else.
