I hosted 5 friends at May-Thai yesterday and this neighborhood treasure of a restaurant seemed even better this time around. As always, it was beautiful and clean, with some striking decorations on the wall. And our waitresses were friendly and timely the whole evening. But it was the food that was a new revelation for me. A friend ordered balimaki, which I've never tried before, and it turned out to be a flavorful marinated meat on a skewer, dramatically presented. And I absolutely loved my entree -- the May-Thai shrimp in coconut sauce -- the flavors were complex, the veggies were freshly cut, & the spice level was perfect. Wow okay, I think I found my go-to Thai restaurant finally! I haven't been to this establishment physically, but I recently ordered some food here through DoorDash and the food was amazing! I am a super basic person lol so I ordered my favorite, beef pad Thai. I've noticed that the pad Thai here in Ohio, the noodles tend to be cut shorter than what I'm used to in Southern California. I do wonder if it's kind of a Thai regional type of thing. Anyways I ordered their beef pad Thai and their noodles were actually long! Finally! I've been to four other Thai places and all their noodles were cut short. The beef pad tie here was really good, it had a really good smokey flavor - and it was quite saucy which I love. I will be definitely ordering this again. My husband had the chicken penang curry and he said that the Penang curry was actually very good. They gave a decent amount of protein, but he did wish that they had more veggies. It only had broccoli. He was kind of looking for a broccoli, bell pepper, onions, etc. I also ordered a side of beef fried rice for my little one and omg, their fried rice it's actually very good. I am a little bit snobby when it comes to fried rice and not all restaurants can make it really well, but this place definitely did! It had that fried taste that you look for in actual real fried rice. The beef was tender, the flavors were good, it was just good overall. Next time I think I'll probably come here physically versus ordering it because I bet the food is even better when it's not sitting for a while.. AKA delivery lol. read more

Can't say enough about this place. If you go for Chinese well you'll get that, it's good but nothing that will have you racing back. However the specials they gave on Chinese dishes and Thai dishes are some of the most delicious foods I've tried. Family owned and never disappointed when I eat it. Ordered carry out and got the TSO chicken and egg roll. I asked for it not breaded chicken. I was the jerk who placed an order 30min before closing. I went to pick up and happy to see I wasn't the only one who orders that late! There were three other orders with mine! Anyway, I'm super picky abt my TSO chicken. It's usually over cooked, over sauced and usually order my sauce on the side. I didn't this time. And let me tell you. OMG!!! It was perfectly sauced and the chicken was perfect!!! This is probably the BEST TSO chicken I've ever had! What a hidden gem! You need to head to Milford and give this place a shout out! How have I lived here and not eaten here? Two of us went for Friday lunch. It is nice inside. I had spicy salmon curry, which had a good portion of salmon, two won tons and fried rice. The salmon rested on vegetables. All was good, but the rice was earthy tasting, burned flavor? The other order was spicy shrimp pad Thai. Also with two won tons and fried rice. Noodles were sparse. It was reported to all be good. An egg roll was added for $1.50. it was reported to be good. The egg roll came quickly. The entrees came quite a bit later. The staff were friendly and attentive. I would go again. read more

We got crab rangoon and sweet & sour chicken. The crab rangoon was a little more heavy on the cream cheese than the crab it was crunchy. The dipping sauce was in a packet on the table. My dad was right, this little place is great. I got the royal noodles with chicken and the flavors/spices were on point. The vegetables (especially broccoli) were plentiful and fresh. This place does efficient delivery to the Holiday Inn in Milford; last orders around 9pm. I went online and found the menu and got the Red Curry Salmon - medium spicy. If you can judge a good Thai (or Indian) restaurant by the spice then this place is great! The spiciness was just the right mix of heat and sweet, tangy flavor. The salmon portion was enough for two people - two chunky cuts of salmon, nicely doused with the curry and topped with plenty of fresh asparagus. It came with white rice. I wanted some soup so I also got the hot and sour soup. I've had this in many restaurants before and it's so standard that it's hard to not think it comes out of a packet. But at May Thai, the soup is different - it makes me think it's homemade which is rarer than you might think in smaller restaurants. The delivery guy forgot to get my receipt. He said he's try to go and get it before they closed or would drop it back in the morning and I could go back (after a business meeting) to get it. The food here is amazing! We've tried a lot of the menu and everything has been delicious. They use fresh ingredients and they cook the vegetables perfectly. I'm obsessed with the egg rolls they are stuffed with chicken and are literally the best egg rolls ever. The wide variety of options on the menu has made it the perfect choice for when we have a group with a variety of different diet restrictions. The staff is friendly and we always have an excellent dine in experience. Always incredibly delicious! So many entrees we enjoy. I feel their sauces are an absolute standout. If you like spicy ask for the spicy chili oil. The owner is so kind to patrons and the team work diligently to correctly prepare custom orders. When our family visit from out of state, they always insist we plan a trip to May Thai. Bottom Line - This is great Thai food at a reasonable price. We order take out from here at least a couple times a month. It's a steal and the taste and quality are so much better than other same-type places in the area. Plus, they'll even deliver! As for the in-house dining experience, it's just okay. The interior needs a serious re-fresh, and they rarely are busy because I think most people get their food "to go." But if you're looking for good Thai food, May Thai is a winner! read more

Great service and Love their food! Pleasant atmosphere, the servers are always quite friendly and attentive. Can't say I have ever sat waiting on a refill there. Today the chef brought the food right out of the kitchen to my table and made sure it looked good. I can't comment on many of the appetizers, after trying their hot and sour soup, it's so good - that it's the only one I order. Lunch is very reasonable! I do not live in the area, just work nearby - so I can't comment on dinner pricing. Lunch portion size is more than adequate, not sure I've ever finished a whole plate there. One thing I do appreciate is that they don't seem to load their food down with sugar or salt like many other places do. I simply hate overly sweetened foods; where there's no call for it. I find the food quality to be pretty consistent as well. I've tried a number of dishes there - a few I don't care for, because of my tastes - but there was nothing sub-par about the quality of the food. This place is awesome! I've been coming here for years and I have always had great customer service and the food has always been wonderful. They have renovated the restaurant as well and the ambiance is great. Food quality has always been very good and you never have to worry about your drink going empty, as they are always checking on your table. I read a couple lower reviews on the restaurant and thought to myself, those must be some really really picky people. Stay at home and make your own Thai if you are that picky! I hate to trash one of my hometown businesses, but tonight's meal was about as far as I want to go off track. This is a regular place where we - my husband and I - used to order takeout. We've eaten inside this restaurant maybe once or twice. The last few times we ordered takeout it was mediocre bordering on not very good. Tonight when I open the package with my food I could smell that it was burnt. Not terribly burnt, but burnt all the same. OK, I said, everything is not always perfect. So I dug into one of the crab Rangoon that I had ordered. It had very little filling. So did the next one, and the next one and all the rest. It kind of capped it for me. This place by far has the best chinese/thai food I have ever ate, the prices are steep but are worth it in a way. I do however wish they allowed you to get other things besides just rice, & (prefered chicken) You cannot get noodles or anything else without paying a arm & a leg for those two things you are forced to get the rice & chicken lol.. I bought coconut shrimp ($12.95), and it was gross the bottom of my bowl had a pile of iceberg lettuce along with vegetables in the sauce mix no where on there (online) menu stated that it had lettuce on the bottom of the bowl it ruined the entire thing and it was the most expensive thing i ordered. So lesson warned and warning to others make sure you tell them how you want it. $36ish for 3 meals, I will be back soon they also deliver!! for those who are curious. read more

The nondescript strip mall facade is deceiving. The interior is nice and the staff was helpful. The flavors were pretty good but everything was too oily. And my biggest problem is the chicken in the pad kee mao and red curry was breaded as if it was sesame chicken or general tsaos with different sauce. I won't go back because of the chicken quality. Working up in Milford, I've noticed that there are not a lot of lunch options that stray from the typical suburban American fare. There are a few options, but May Thai is easily one of the best. Their menu is a mixture of Thai and Chinese dishes, which are all pretty good. I usually dine in, but you can also have it delivered. The staff is always friendly, and the service is usually good. There is an ongoing debate within our lunch group as to which dish is the best. A lot of people seem to like the Spicy Thai Fried Rice, and the Paht Kee Mao, both of which are good. My personal favorite is the Pineapple Thai Fried Rice. They also have the best General Tso's Chicken I've had anywhere. The Masaman Curry is also quite good. I've never been to May Thai for dinner, but some of my friends have, and they say that the dinner menu is also good. Plus, apparently they sometimes have live entertainment. Anyway, ultimately if you are looking for something a little different than O'Charlies or Panera for lunch up in the Milford area, you should give May Thai a try. I work in Milford, Park 50 area which has limited lunch options. May Thai is the best option available as far as i am concerned. Great food, fast service and very reasonable. I am there at least 2 times a week and always leave satisfied. I introduced this place to my co - workers and all of them are a fan. In fact, me and my colleagues have a tough time deciding on lunch option(s) when May Thai is closed for their yearly summer vacation. My personal favorites are hot - n - sour soup, spicy Thai fried rice, rascha noodles and red curry. They have a spice level scale of 1 through 10 and can make i it even spicier if you want. Also try the hot tea, its very refreshing especially in the colder months.
