Chinatown Buffet is a very good value for your money. The selection is huge and the food is always delicious.

My father and I celebrated our birthday at the China Town Buffet and it was phenomenal! Once I tasted the food, it was just like 2005 again! The nicest gentleman was putting out fresh food, I stopped him to tell him how amazing the food is and he told me that they used to manage the restaurant (starting in 2004) and they are back! I told the gentleman that I could certainly tell that something new was happening! Our server was amazing and the hostess made us a cake out of various items from the buffet. The food at this buffet is absolutely disgusting! Most of the food is old, dried out, and doesn't taste like ANY Chinese food I have had! They didn't have egg rolls, so I settled for a spring roll and that was a mistake. The spring roll was NOT cooked thru and made me sick! Upon leaving the cashier was very uncourteous and had zero customer skills! The place as a whole was dirty with stained ceiling tiles all over and has an odor of old grease and funk! I should write this review sooner but I don't use yelp much. Last Sunday I went to Chinatown Buffet first time after the original owner took back the ownership. The place looks much nicer than before. Owner was there and very friendly and enthusiastic. All the food was fresh and taste just the way it supposed to be. Very pleasant experience. I've been going to this place for years and have always enjoyed it. The lo mein noodles and black pepper chicken are my favorite dishes! I go there for lunch and I also get takeout from the buffet. It's the only place I've had black pepper chicken. You need to try that! I've never had a problem with this place. The dishes are yummy and there's a decent spread. The best thing about it though is the woman running it is such a delight. The people there are friendly and I'm sure if I ever had a problem, they wouldn't hesitate to fix it. I think this place is great and deserves more credit than they're getting. I will keep eating there as long as they open. read more

It's pretty much what you expect out of a Chinese buffet. As a rule, I only go there within an hour after they've opened. And if I go any later than that the food because of the lower volume of traffic, they have seems to be old and not necessarily hot. if you go right away after they open obviously it's fresh it's hot. It's pretty good. If you do that it's not a bad experience. If you go in between lunch and dinner, I just wouldn't go that time... I love the hot and sour soup. There's not too many hot and sour soups that I don't like, but if I were to change anything I would start with adding more of what we consider traditional Chinese dishes with a higher vegetable content. Probably one of the worst Chinese restaurants I've ever been to. We, a party of four, went around 6:30 on a Monday evening and it was a mistake. The food was so old that I thought maybe it had been there since lunchtime. The only fresh food I encountered were the potstickers my mom requested and the egg rolls. Everything else was just trash. The chicken wings were absolutely desiccated. Other parties looked to have a similar experience, with several making a plate and quickly leaving. The restaurant made money though, as we still paid our $62 even though we left hungry. The person at the register was unsympathetic and seemingly unconcerned with the terrible quality. read more

Variety is key here! Completely unexpected to walk into such a huge restaurant in the middle of a strip. You're greeted by a very nice hostess who quickly seats you. You're waitress stops by for a drink order and you're off to the buffet. There's no menu here, it is a one size fits all buffet. You can start with fresh salads or head straight for the rangoons, noodles, chicken and even a few American dishes such as pizza and BBQ pork. They have a small sushi bar and hibachi grill included in your order. Buffet sushi sounds, gross, but although the portions were small, they quality was good. The hibachi stand was not attended so it wasn't really an option. Delicious soups, donuts, pastries, rice, meats and vegetables are all options for any eater, picky or not. The service is good, the waitress always watches your drinks and picks up dirty plates. $25 for two people, typical buffet prices. read more

My family comes here often and our last experience was a terrible one. Food is mediocre at best but we come for the convenience. I've been hesitant to post this since I dislike writing very negative reviews but I think others should be aware of what we experienced. We went there for lunch and it was 3 of us. When we were done we got the bill and paid. When they gave us the change back my sister noticed it was short and told the waitress immediately. The owner / manager talked to us in a condescending way and said her cash register is always correct and that we were wrong. Well okay ... are you accusing us of taking it? We got upset and told them to count the register. It's not the matter of 5 bucks it's the principle. Don't disrespect your patrons especially when it's your mistake. Idk why someone said this was one of the better buffets. I love Chinese and go to many places, The best buffet is China Buffet in west Chester, Had to wait 45 min for crab legs in the buffet and then were so small and only enough for the person in front of me to fill their plate and have none left. The hard boiled eggs were cut half into and dried and took a long time to refill any of the food trays so you have to wait for anything "fresh" . The girl working the food buffet bars just kept waking around stirring up and rearranging the little bit of old servings in the trays , I can only imagine how germy the handles are on al the serving spoons and utensils that she touched 100 times and all the rest of the standard customer's using them. Very disappointed for the $50 we spent and not able to eat fresh food or fresh sushi, one person mentioned in their review how they go in Thursday bc that's when they get their food orders in for the week and it's fresh. That should be a big red flag right there. Oh well you live and you learn. It's better to drive 20 min to West Chester for a bigger variety and fresh fresh food than limited variety and old food. read more

OMG are you KIDDING me!!! How can this place even call itself a CHINESE buffet when they have NO WHITE RICE!!! The woman next to me said it's really hard to get anything out bc they put their rice on plastic in a pan. The lo mein noodles were so dry they were stuck to the side of the pan and the ones in the middle were just curled up and shrivelled. There is no cooking going on here. The faux crab casserole was just a pan of faux crab with some melted cheese on top. There are no rice noodles, either. Those are only for lunch, I asked. The dinner hour starts by 3:30 they charge $13.99 at a chinese buffet with no white rice, no rice noodles and non edible lo mein noodles!! I will not go back. read more

Place is filthy. Booths are so dirty, tables are sticky. Total neglect. Wonder what the kitchen looks like. Food is not fresh. Been sitting on the steam table for hours it looks like. Very dry. No flavor. All frozen. Serving utensils are cover with Saran Wrap. Makes me think they don't wash them. Hot and spur soup is neither hot nor spur. Egg rolls and other deep fried items are bitter. I eat here regularly and always love it. It's all pretty standard American-Chinese food, and has a great selection, including a hibachi grill (it's usually not open when I'm there for lunch, however) and sushi bar. I've always found it perfectly clean, right down to the plates and cutlery. The servers are always nice, and they're very prompt with soda refills and taking away finished plates. There isn't anything revolutionary happening here. It's good food at a good price, and I'm always coming back. read more

This is a pretty good buffet. There's plenty of good selection of Chinese dishes and desserts. They also do buffet to go which is an excellent deal. I'll definitely be back here again. I wish I listened to the other BAD reviews before giving this place my business. I don't like having to leave bad reviews but I find it necessary to warn others because I am now sick. Upon the 1st impression this place looks nice with the Decor it looks like a good buffet when you 1st come in. The staff is attentive with refills. The food doesn't taste bad & you think it's fine. Then comes the horror of the next morning when you wake up running to the toilet. So that tells me that NO this is not good food or I wouldn't be this sick right now. Also the "Tipping" when it comes to buffets. This is a confusing issue for many & I can see why. I usually tip at least 20% when going out to a FULL SERVICE restaurant. I always believed that since you get your own food & they only do drinks and clear plates that you just leave a few bucks outta courtesy. Well the Server says to me "you only leave 2 dollar" I said "what" in absolute shock & she said "it's okay".. Wow. I am a Server myself & have been left nothing before & I would never go question someone. It's part of the industry. And now my boyfriend tells me he is getting sick too. Went there a few days ago, and were really surprised when a raccoon fell out of the ceiling. It took about 45 min for animal control to get it out. In the meantime it ran around everywhere. This place has been going down hill for years the buffet tables are never kept hot enough to preserve the food. The food looks like it could be days old. Several friends have told us they got sick there. The only reason we went there is because my 13 year old granddaughter really likes the selection, and wanted to go for her birthday. A few years ago we went there as a party of 4. I used a $1.50 off coupon toward the bill. As we were getting into the car, the cashier came running out and told me that I owed $1.50 because she noticed that the coupon was expired. I should have stayed away after that one. read more

As far as buffets go, this one is pretty outstanding. They have something like 8 - 10 buffet tables every day that cover every standard Chinese food offering you could dream of. I love grabbing carry-out from the buffet because I know they are going to have everything on there I want. I guess I can blame myself, cause I remember moving to Milford few years ago, and I've always heard this place was not good, but it we were hoping we would like it, then have a Chinese buffet close to home. Should have left immediately after sitting down to eat my first plate, and when i took my fork out of napkin it was STICKY! So no I ask for another and proceed to eat what looks to be amazing. EVERYTHING on my plate was cool. Not warm, cool. Daughter says hers is the same. So we decide to just go back up and get another plate hoping with trying different items this time we would be in luck. NOPE, same outcome. Didn't matter what steam table we got from, the outcome was cool, some cold food. If you don't mind your food not being hot then I guess this won't bother you.
