Shrimp fried rice and a side of white rice
Kate F.

Meh...there wasn't anything terribly wrong with this spot. It's edible food and fast service. Yet, the flavors were just a little off and the food portions were too small. Making it a spot I won't go again. We got General Taos chicken - it was fine. Chicken cubes were small and bland. Chicken Pad Thai - the vegetables they added had a strong flavor that negated the spicy peanut flavor of traditional Pad Thai- and I didn't like it. The shrimp fried rice just didn't cut it. Also bland and the shrimp really didn't taste good. I loved the egg rolls - but they were about half the size of egg rolls at other Chinese joints.

I always enjoy good Chinese food or at least american Chinese food, which can very greatly between places. I stopped in here because I kept meaning to do so, but always ended up at other Chinese places in the area. I got the Mongolian beef, which was very good, some of the best and most tender beef I have had. I also got the crab Rangoon, which was very good (some of the best I have had). I will be back here when I want Chinese food again.

Eating at the Grand Peking was very..interesting. We were in search of a good sit down Chinese place in the West Chester/Liberty Township area that wasn't PF Changs..and we came across the Grand Peking. It's located not too far from Liberty Center..but it's not a part of it. It's actually in a slightly run-down plaza a minute or two up the road from Liberty Center. The restaurant itself was the same..not bad but had a little run-down feeling to it. When we entered there were a lot of people standing around the front registers. We figured they were all waiting for tables and expected a wait. But no, I guess they were all waiting for take-out because we were seated right away. The "interesting-ness" of the visit started with a little kid running the front. He came to the registers when we walked in..coming from somewhere within the restaurant..looking as if we had interrupted him in some kind of handheld gaming system play. It was odd. He asked if we were picking up an order and we said no, we wanted to dine in. He grabbed a couple menus and then just stared at us. We stared back..not knowing what was happening. And then he just was like "come on" and started walking towards the tables. So we followed. The place was lined with booths..and then there were some tables in the center. Obviously, like most, we would prefer a booth..but they were all either taken or filled with dirty dishes..it looked like one of them was in use as a kids station..which I assumed was set up to keep this little boy occupied when he wasn't running the front of the house. We had to settle for a table. Not terribly annoying..but a bit. The kid took our drink orders and went off. I was really nervous he was going to be our server as well..I just didn't get the feeling he would've been able to pull that off..but luckily a slightly older man ended up waiting on us. Now, the menu they had was pretty vast..and the food was actually pretty good. I was pretty hungry that evening, and really craving some good Chinese food, so I went a bit overboard with my ordering. I ordered the Pu-Pu platter as an appetizer for the table. I went with their General Tso's chicken with a side of fried rice. I also ordered a side of crab rangoon and a pork egg roll. Like I said, pretty hungry. So, they brought out the Rangoon and the egg roll first..which was odd because I specifically ordered them as sides to my meal. But..whatever..I was hungry and I was glad to start with them. The crab Rangoon was excellent. They were crunchy and the crab/cheese combo inside tasted great. The egg roll was alright, not bad but a bit bland. Definitely tasted better when dipped in their hot mustard. The Pu-Pu platter came out next..and it really hit the spot. Everything on it tasted good. The crab Rangoon and egg rolls were as I explained them. The chicken wings tasted juicy and great. The beef sticks were very tender, and the spare ribs were flavorful and hearty. Like I said, really hit the spot. The General Tso's chicken wasn't bad. It wasn't spicy tho..even tho it was notated on the menu that it would be. It had a fine taste to it..just not spicy. I doused it with a good amount of their hot mustard and that really kicked up the spice factor..almost too much..I felt like my face was on fire for a minute..but it was good. Prices were reasonable bordering on high. Less than PF Chang's..but more than you'd expect to pay at a slightly run down place in a slightly run down plaza..with an 8 year old running the front of the house. I would eat here again tho. The food was good enough to warrant future visits. Maybe take-out is the way to go tho..and maybe that's why so many people were lined up at the counter during our entire visit partaking in it.

Hidden gem! Clean, fresh, and delicious! The dipping sauce for the dumplings was pure perfection. Everything we was spot on. The food came out hot and flavorful. My favorite Chinese restaurant around the area. We will be back often.

Pretty good spot for crab ragoons. Enough so that I was driving 20 minutes one way for them.

This is our go-to place for take-out. Good vegetarian options, the country style tofu is my favorite.

A extra star for the lunch prices, typical fare for this type of restaurant. Asiana is a better choice and not too far.

I went for lunch and had their hot and sour soup (which comes with lunch) and Schezwan shrimp. The soup was ok but I've had better. It had a touch of heat but not enough vinegar for the sour flavor. The shrimp was a generous portion of 4 jumbo shrimp, a lot of veggies and a big serving of either steamed or fried rice. I couldn't finish it all. The price was $9.90 for eat in. Beverages were very limited. The quantity of food served was more than ample but the quality was barely adequate. The shrimp dish was marked as spicy on the menu but had zero heat and was otherwise quite bland. On top of that, even though I was eating in, my food was served to me in styrofoam takeout containers with a cheap plastic fork. It was my first visit and my last. Free parking in the lot outside.
