True Score- 3.5/5 Stars China House is my default option for Chinese carryout in Hamilton. In my opinion, it is the best in Hamilton in this regard (aside from Basil) and consistently has the best tasting food. Everything I have had is pretty good- however the egg rolls can be a bit chewy and the fried rice is kind of generic (although it tastes good). I think the chicken is excellent, the dumplings are great, and the lo mein is also pretty good. Staff is always very friendly inside, and that is a plus. It can quickly be an expensive dinner. 2 combos with a drink or 2 and an appetizer can easily run you 35 bucks. Depending on what you get. The place seems to be carryout/delivery only, as the inside is not suitable for seating to dine in. The blinds are all messed up, and in general just not an appealing looking place. The food and service are for sure the best in town, making this my default choice. Highly recommend! China House is a decent Chinese restaurant in Hamilton. I have no real complaint with this restaurant, it just does not stand out compared to its competitors. The food is good though, and unlike the other Chinese places on that side of Hamilton, China House does deliver. The portions are decently sized, though my favorite, Lemon Chicken, tends to just be OK instead of great. The General's chicken is bettter, and comes in a good sized portion. Definitely a restaurant that I return to, even if it is not my first pick. read more

This is the first time we ever order from China House so far the food taste good. I didn't have to wait a long time for delivery. The actual customer service wasn't too bad it was very quick and easy process and prices are very affordable. Would definitely give them another try read more

The delivery is fast. Other than that this place is pretty awful. I ordered from this place about three times and each time is worse than the last. I only order from them because I was pretty desperate for Chinese food and no other Chinese restaurant delivers that's around me. The way the man answers the phone is not very welcoming to begin with. He's very rude and acts like he doesn't want to help. Instead of saying something nice like "How can I help you?", he pretty says "what do you want?" in a really depressing dreary voice. Does not give me a delivery time or price. Does not ask if I want anything else. The moron just assumes the call is over instead of asking if I am paying with cash or card. I had to tell him I'm paying with card because he was about to hung up. The driver got here way faster than he told me. She may have been fast but looked pissed off when she got to my door. I kind of regret tipping her after that. I get that it sucks delivering for an asshole but you don't have to act like it kills you to deliver food that someone paid for. The food is just as bad as the customer service. The lo mein noodles are usually overly greasy and stuck together. They're like a huge clump of worms. The taste is flavorless. The egg rolls are decent but it's seriously hard to fuck up egg rolls. The rice has no flavor. It's like eating air. The chicken I had in the rice was tough and completely flavorless. Even when I ordered the general chicken once, the sauce barely had any flavor. I am pretty much done with this dump. I wouldn't recommend this crap place to anyone. Even if you're starving, stay starved. You'll be more in agony after eating this trash. No matter how much I am craving Chinese food, I'll order something else. I am so disappointed in the way the food has gone down hill and the prices have gone way up. I am not paying for overpriced food. The prices are comparable to PF Changs now. There is no flavor at all anymore. Just bland. If they want customers to come back they need to make their prices more reasonable. I had the Moo Goo Gai Pan delivered by DoorDash and while the food arrived hot, it wasn't my favorite. The "sauce" was more like a thin jelly type sauce and was relatively bland. Overall, very underwhelming. I'd try them again, something different for sure, but really only for the convenience of delivery. read more

I have ordered from China House for years. First of all there are not many resaurants in this area that deliver other than pizza places and in case Nikki hasn't noticed gas is expensive. To think you can have food delivered and not pay a fee is unrealistic. I've always gotten good service and good food China House l love their garlic chicken and my daughter always gets the chicken lo mein.
