The ghost of a fortune cookie.
    Matt R.

It doesn't help that I really didn't want it, but the wife did so we went. They had the salad again, but I gotta say, this is one of the worst, if not the worst salad bar I've ever been to. To be fair not many places get it right, but wow. Basically you get lettuce and a selection of dressings. There are more dressings than toppings for the salad. I guess they have tomatoes, but I didn't look because I don't do tomatoes. They have diced hard boiled egg and cheese and that's about it. And that's basically all I had since I didn't want to go in the first place. I did get a plate with a couple little miscellaneous things, the main one being seasoned potatoes. They were cold. I'm not sure if the wife saw my disappointment and lack of plates, but she decided she doesn't want to go back for a while, which made me happy. Oh, when our "meal" was over we were given the customary fortune cookies. Well, we were given *A* fortune cookie because the second sealed pack had nothing in it. We were given packaged air. I thought that was fun. What impressed me more about it was the fact that the woman who gave us our check and the cookies didn't notice.

The weekend buffet has so much variety. The food was hot and delicious. The crawfish boil was a new item for us.

Take yourself out on your own darn date. Why not?…read more You deserve it. And when you do..... Order the Pink Starburst for 10 buckeroos. A steal. It's pretty and pink and glows. Second choice was an expressotini. The crab rangoons for 6 bucks are a steal. Who can't resist crispy fried filled puffs filled with cream cheese ? Not this girl. Then I took Anthony's suggestion and went with a coconut spaghetti. If you're wondering what that is...... It's flippin fabulous. It's mandarin egg noodles tossed with shrimp, vegetables, in a savory brown sauce. Sold. The curiosity alone was enough to order it. Now on to the ambience. 9.5 outta 10. The music is in the background and not too loud to not hear the conversations your eavesdropping on in the next booth. And any place you go and hear Fleetwood Mac is a plus. The bar has a cool vibe and you don't have to break the bank. And!!! best part yet, there are books all around the place to read if you get bored or have a boring date. And Lori is such a darn hard worker with a smile a great hair. And thankfully, they do Apple Pay.

Our waitress was Sheridan and she provided absolutely superb service. Major shout-out. They didn't have the beer my husband ordered so she took the initiative to return to the table with two samples of similar beer for him to try. She answered all our questions and made appropriate recommendations. We were checked on often enough, a soda refill appeared without my asking, and she neatly boxed up our leftovers. She was pleasant and kind and one of the best servers ever. Very classy decor here; subtle touches of the orient; wood, leather, and...books! And a very elegant bar. Motown music was playing, and festive but not excessive Christmas decorations were up. And yes, a fortune cat was there to greet us. Food arrived quickly. We had the Thai Dumplings app which was just enough for two to whet the appetite. It was tangy and peanutty and the cool cucumber slices a perfect contrast. My husband had the Green Mango Grouper and loved it. I had a taste and it was fantastic, fresh white fish and delectable toppings, spice level 2 was just right. I tasted it and agreed it was excellent and right then we made plans to return. I had Siam Curry with chicken. Full of flavor and wonderful vegetables especially the snow peas. Spice level 3 is described as Thai Spicy and they are not kidding. They do not wimp out on the spice here so use caution. (For example at Thai Thara in Richmond Indiana I go with 5 of 5 and I still need to add some spice.) Sheridan brought extra chili oil if needed. I would recommend erring on the side of lower spice with the option to add. We took home an order of Singapore Noodles to share for supper tomorrow along with our leftovers. I snuck a taste before putting it away and it's delicious! Looking forward to another visit soon and I think I'll try one of their cocktails. Highly recommended!

I heard Hong Kong Wok delivered and decided to give them a try based on their Yelp reviews. My order consisted of 3 egg rolls, steamed dumplings, a large egg drop soup, large bourbon chicken with white rice, and large shrimp lo mein. I was quoted a price of $30.65, which included a $3 delivery fee. The delivery time was consistent with the 30-minute timeframe quoted during the ordering process. Also, each dish provided hearty portions that could have fed 3-4 people. The highlights of my order were the egg rolls and egg drop soup. Both were still hot upon delivery and were the tastiest part of my meal. Unfortunately, those were the only positives of my order. The rest of the food items were cold and probably sat in the restaurant for a few hours before being delivered. Both the shrimp lo mein and bourbon chicken were not very appetizing and dark in complexion. The bourbon chicken lacked the bourbon flavor. Based on the complexion and non- flavor, I'm guessing a lot of soy sauce was used. The same can be said to describe the shrimp lo mein. My steamed dumplings were dried out and cold. The filling was bland and didn't taste like beef. Overall, I wasn't too impressed with my Hong Kong Wok experience, and probably won't give them another chance when I come home for vacation and have a Chinese craving.

Walking in you will see nick-nacks for sale (glass figurines, etc) on the counter, and the fixtures look a little old, but clean. The staff are friendly, the food is good. I eat here an average of twice every two weeks. Prices are reasonable. The best part (in my opinion) is the FRIED RICE. I searched DOZENS of restaurants trying to find fried rice cooked with THICK SOY. This gives the rice a dark brown, slightly sweeter taste. (I'm living in Ohio, but from Massachusetts. ALL the American Chinese food restaurants use the thick soy back home The only thing I'm missing are "Fall River Chow Mein Noodles" which are a regional thing.) The ONLY minor thing I can think of is that I find Boneless Pork Ribs better when dry and slightly burned VS covered in a sauce, but that's an extremely minor comment and NOT a complaint.
