I love this place. When I am writing reviews I do like to see what others thought as well. Just like any food places you are going to have those that dont like it or someone happened to get sick that day. This happens even at the most expensive places to eat, but no judgement on those reviews. Just was not their thing or place and sometimes our bodies cant handle all the different flavors at one. First I love buffets and I also know what to expect from most places. Buffets are usually not the cleanest (not fine dining) but will say this place is cleaner than most places I have been. They try to seat you as soon as possible. No matter how busy they have been I have not had to wait yet. For the most part most of the food is hot and fresh but you might come across one or 2 that might not be and usually at most buffets it is usually because not much of that one item has not been eaten and they just dont come out and replace not eaten food. This place is super nice and if you ask for fresh food usually you will receive. A lot of variety with of course some American food there. desert bar, ice cream and habachi. I have never gotten sick but my stomach just might be used to buffet food and the different varieties that I am putting in my body. I love places that have a fish tank and this one does, so for kids and family usually a great conversation and the kids love it. Shoot I am an adult and have to stop each time I go. This is the best Chinese Buffet in the area. It's also the only Chinese Buffet in the area. But they do a good job, all things considered: The service is attentive, which for a buffet, just means they don't leave you with a big stack of dirty plates and empty glasses. The atmosphere is great - lots of wood and eastern interior design, which makes it an experience and really separates the feel from the rest of Hamilton. The food is good! There's a lot of stuff that's kind of 'meh', but it's a buffet, so there's also lots of good stuff. Importantly, they have a hibachi-style area, lots of traditional american-style candied meat dishes, and a good desert area with the classics like Jell-O, pudding, and fruits. This is by far our favorite Chinese Buffett. All the items on the Buffett are always hot and fresh. The Hibachi Grill has so many items to choose from and always tastes great. It doesn't help that I really didn't want it, but the wife did so we went. They had the salad again, but I gotta say, this is one of the worst, if not the worst salad bar I've ever been to. To be fair not many places get it right, but wow. Basically you get lettuce and a selection of dressings. There are more dressings than toppings for the salad. I guess they have tomatoes, but I didn't look because I don't do tomatoes. They have diced hard boiled egg and cheese and that's about it. And that's basically all I had since I didn't want to go in the first place. I did get a plate with a couple little miscellaneous things, the main one being seasoned potatoes. They were cold. I'm not sure if the wife saw my disappointment and lack of plates, but she decided she doesn't want to go back for a while, which made me happy. Oh, when our "meal" was over we were given the customary fortune cookies. Well, we were given *A* fortune cookie because the second sealed pack had nothing in it. We were given packaged air. His favorite dish is the chicken and garlic sauce, combination dish we have tried other restaurants in the area for Chinese and our second favorite would be the China House, which is not even on the list and should be - as we go there quite frequently too. It's 7.00 a pound which isn't terrible because there's a wide variety of stuff that you can get it makes it kinda hard not to pile it all up. Golden Dragon has a broad variety of items on the buffet, and as mentioned by Molly G, they also have sushi and hibachi. I've never tried the sushi or the hibachi, but I've hit the buffet more than once. I like the selection and they do a pretty good job of not letting the food get nasty on the buffet, which is nice. I can't tell you how many buffets I've been to where the food was getting dried out, stale, or generally disgusting because they weren't keeping it fresh. We've even had it fresh later in the evening, even though they were getting to the end of their open hours. The service has always been prompt as well. Although you usually don't need a lot when hitting the buffet, having plates cleared in a timely manner and having your glass refilled promptly make it a nice experience. My main reasons for lowering the star count is because Golden Dragon is just average, and because I don't go here often because I tend to end up with an upset stomach afterwards. There's nothing wrong with the food, but one of the ingredients they use clearly gives me trouble. Other than that, great place to go. read more

Restaurant was clean and service was friendly. The food for the most part was hot and fresh but in a lot of the chicken dishes the chicken was tough and hard to chew. The restaurant is in a strip plaza that looks abandoned. There were no lights in the parking lot so it felt a bit sketchy to be honest. But the restaurant was lit up and cars in front of it. Don't eat the sushi, I just ate at Golden Dragon around 2 or 2:30 hours ago and I tried the sushi. It tasted good and looked good too so I ate two pieces and I just don't feel good after doing so, there were gnats buzzing around the food I feel like I got food poisoning from it and the dessert was all powdery and things, its just too doughy. I like the concept I really do but from what I experienced in there I don't really know what to think I really don't. Oh and by the front buffet bar there is a little spot to get spoons and knives and forks and things but I honestly couldn't tell if they were clean or not because they gave us silverware when we sat down. The only good *service* thing if you can even call it that is when the guy handed me my mask after I accidentally left it on the table. The atmosphere is charming and there is plenty of room for large parties. Service is always good, too. The only downside is the location. We walk out and the host comes running yelling you pay you pay. I said we did pay would you like to see the receipt? As I pull it from my back pocket. He walks off without responding. Then comes back out as we get into the car with another employee and pen and paper and a phone as if he is going to call the police on me for ditching my bill I already showed him a freaking receipt for.
