Unfortunately, the moment I opened the container, there was an unpleasant smell. I tried to ignore it and give it a chance, but unfortunately, the taste matched the smell. This was not the General Tso's chicken I've known from Chan's. The fried rice was also completely different. It was dry and lacked the fluffy, flavorful yellow rice that I honestly could eat by itself. I ate about 7-8 bites, trying to convince myself that maybe I was just having an off experience, but I ultimately threw the entire meal away. I have never thrown away food from this establishment in the 20+ years I've been a customer. The signs still say Asian Wok, but unfortunately, it's not the same restaurant or the same food that I've loved for all these years. I truly hope this is just a transition issue and that things improve, because it's tough to see a place that has been part of my life for over two decades change this much.
