I went for my birthday back in December and had a great experience! I had heard mixed reviews about the Grand Concourse, but our server was fantastic and the food was delicious. The restaurant is beautiful inside, and our view of the city was great as well. It was a bit pricey, but I thought it was worth it for a special occasion. I would definitely go back!

We had a wonderful dining experience. The ambience is a 10+. Service with a 10+. We didn't order much but everything we ordered was great and you couldn't ask for more beautiful setting. I think it was built in 1901? You couldn't replicate this setting ever definitely will go back

First and last experience. Break service...ok. Caesar salad was thick overly cheesy coagulated..... something. Prime rib was obviously microwaved and smashed potatoes were cold! All for $200?!!!!! Complete waste of time and money!

The Grand Concourse is still beautiful and has a good view (even when rainy). The service is okay. Not quite as good as I remember, but friendly if not super on top of things (took forever to get a drink refill and the check/check picked up/etc.). With exception of them mixing up steaks and giving one who wanted medium the medium rare and vice versa and the shrimp being bland and overcooked, the food was delicious. It had been a long time since we went there and it's nice to see it's still beautiful.

The Grand Concourse is an old train station and it was beautifully decorated for the holidays. We had a private event in one of the side rooms with a set menu. The food itself was a mixed bag. The butternut squash soup looked unappetizing but tasted okay. The Caesar salad was decent. Their bread came out piping hot and was incredible. All our entrees were pretty good. I had to leave early and informed our server and ask for dessert to go. I had to remind our server 10 minutes after my departure time. It was so funny to me that instead of telling me they couldn't give me my crème brûlée to go or giving me an alternate dessert they just tossed it haphazardly in a small white styrofoam container. It's so weird to me when a purportedly nicer restaurant just has terrible low quality styrofoam takeout containers.

Grand Concourse Restaurant in Pittsburgh, PA has got to be one of the most beautiful restaurants in America. The restaurant was previously a railroad station built in 1901. The inside of the building has original Victorian and Edwardian style architecture and design. In 1974, this beautiful building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The first time we tried this restaurant was 15 years ago for their AMAZING Sunday brunch which I highly recommend. Today we had a fantastic early dinner and recommend the following: *New York Strip steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus. *Surf and Turf with Lobster, mashed potatoes and asparagus. We added shrimp scampi. Our complementary bread with salmon pâté was delicious. For dessert we had the banana creme brûlée and key lime pie. Everything was outstanding 5/5 stars!! We had excellent service with very friendly and attentive staff. There's indoor and outdoor seating with beautiful views of the city of Pittsburgh and Monongahela River. You can see the Steelers Stadium from a distance. We recommend trying this restaurant when in the area. Heard it's very popular for weddings and graduation parties. Check it out! Happy Yelping :)

Note - tried to book a Sunday brunch event here (celebrating an upcoming wedding) - while we do like the venue - they cannot accommodate parties above 10 for brunch without separating you up and cannot even try to put you in the same room at least. Guess we need to look elsewhere now ..

Sat looking out these lower windows, love the view

We first came to TGC 28 years ago for my husband's birthday, and have been half a dozen times since, even after moving to NJ. Definitely one of the most memorable dining experiences. We ate here last Saturday 8/1/26, and the food was amazing - the lemon salmon special and the prime rib were spectacular. The main dining room was closed for a wedding, but we didn't mind the view from the window seats overlooking the river. And a special shout out to our server Herbert - what a charming man, who chatted with us about the menu, thanked us profusely for our patronage, and made a show of creating the smoked Manhattan my husband ordered! Truly a wonderful evening - thank you Herbert and TGC, we will be back!!!

An early birthday lunch with my girlfriend, my brother and his wife. My sister in law has been here many times before and suggested we come here for birthday lunch and she was not wrong. Service was outstanding, attentive, and they made Me a little something extra for birthday. The smoked Manhattan is made table side is a very nice touch. The meal was delicious, perfect ending to my birthday weekend.

Its very overpriced for what you get but the atmosphere and views are 5 stars! Service was average at best, it felt rushed for what I was expecting from a place like this. I took my niece here for her 18th bday and while she enjoyed her 1st fancy dinner I was underwhelmed for what I was expecting for her experience. No one asked if we were celebrating anything like all other places do at this type of escalated dining establishment. I was hoping it would have added to her experience. Added some pics for your viewing pleasure!

Charae our server and host made our brunch today and special day, my 64th birthday, a very memorable experience. The food is always fantastic and ambiance of the Grand Concourse make each and every special gathering throughout the year one we look forward to and talk about when the become we are planning on returning. To help celebrate my birthday Charae created a very special happy birthday treat for my wife and I to share I added a few pictures from our day today Thanks to Charae and the Grand Concourse

    What is the dress code?

I would dress smart casual but I have seen people wearing sweatpants during brunch. Don't be like them lol.

What is the cancellation policy for credit card holds for Easter Sunday brunch?

For any cancellation less than 24 hours in advance for a holiday, it is a $25 fee.

If you go during Sunday brunch, do you have to order the buffet or can you order off the menu?

Only the buffet is available during this time.

    Are kids welcome?

    Yes - bring the family

Is there a suggested attire/dress code?

Depends on when you go! Sunday brunch, I see everything from Steelers gear to dresses + heels. Dinner service I would say business casual to fancy and if in the Gandy Dancer Saloon, anything!

    Will they offer Thanksgiving delivery?

The bar serves cocktails, wines, beers, and mocktails. For dinner and late-night bites, the restaurant focuses mostly on small plates and shareables, including charcuterie, chicken wings, pizzetta, steak, and salmon. They also have a Sunday brunch that serves lox bagel, shrimp and grits, French toast, mimosa, bloody Mary, etcetera. My husband and I ate one lunch here. The best aspect of The Finch was its beautiful views of downtown Pittsburgh's skyscrapers, Monongahela River, and subway trains. The foods and drink were a mixture of quality, and my husband called them "garbage" (eek!). Here are my ratings for them. Berry Mint Spritz - 4 stars - This mocktail (I could have ordered it with alcohol to turn it into a cocktail) contained strawberries, mint, lemon, syrup, and soda water. All of the flavor had settled on the bottom of the glass, so I could have used a straw to mix the drink, but I did enjoy the flavors. Summer Crab Cakes - 2 stars - I received two crab cakes, and they were some of the worst crab cakes that I have ever received anywhere. They contained too much breading and too little meat. I did not even like the flavor of the cherry tomatoes on the side. I usually love crab cakes, but with these ones, I could take only a couple of bites, and then I had the waitress throw away the rest. Hawaiian Pizzetta - 4 stars - This small pizza consisted of four slices that had cheese but no gooey cheese-pull. Other toppings were BBQ sauce drizzle, pineapple, ham, and red pepper. I thought that it tasted good. Ember Steak Skewers - 4 stars - My husband said that the steak was not the highest quality. At least the chunks of steak, peppers, onions, and mushroom (we counted one piece of mushroom!) were marinated and seasoned nicely. The total cost for this one mocktail, three foods, and one soda was $79 *plus* a 3% credit-card surcharge, tax, and a minimum tip of 18%. We asked the waitress for a receipt, but she did not bring us one, so we walked up to her to ask for it again, and we did receive it.

I've heard so many mixed things that I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed every aspect of my experience. It kind of has dive bar vibes but the food and drink options are definitely on the elevated side. They open at 4 on Sundays and I got there around 4:15. It was already pretty busy (and by the time I was leaving, every single table and bar stool were occupied). They have standard booth seats along the windows, hightop tables in the middle and bar seating along the bar that curves along the back of the restaurant. I chose to sit at the bar since I was by myself. I was promptly greeted by the bartender. They don't hand you copies of the menu, you have to scan the QR code to access. It is easy to read and follow with sections for drinks, specials (this time they were Wicked themed as a nod to the show at the Benedum) and a sushi section. I ordered the street corn dip. The chips were a bit overcooked and the dip was just OK. I thought it was pricey for what you got. The star of my meal, though, was the patty melt. It had the burger, a bacon jam, caramelized onions and was absolutely delicious! It was served with fries. I considered ordering sushi but wasn't sure what to expect. The patrons sitting on either side of my ordered rolls and they were a nice size and looked delicious, so that is something I would consider ordering in the future. It was a place I'll likely be back to because of the proximity to the theater (although their prices definitely reflect that). Just note how crowded it always is and give yourself plenty of time if you plan on heading here for dinner before the show.

I wish some of that effort was put into making higher quality dishes. The service was great. Friendly and knowledgeable server (although the time I came on my own it seemed like it was something that never happens at this place based on the questions I got about being on my own). That in itself was off-putting. Plenty of people do things on their own. But for the price of the food (and the rave reviews) I was expecting to be blown away.
