    General Tso's no broccoli

I'm a straight to the point person. I don't Sunday drive in the middle of a weekday evening rush hour. I don't go to the movies having ZERO idea what to watch before I get there. I don't spend time lollygagging like most people. I don't go to the mall aimlessly strolling around with no purpose but just to people watch. If I go to the mall I know exactly want I want, I'm in there making a purchase and then I'm out. The point of all this is to say I like my food straight to the point as well. If I order and Im given a time it's ready, once I arrive I expect it done. If I order a type of food, there is a straight to the point taste expectation that is expected by me too. This place met all my expectations and was straight to the point. The online ordering is seemless. You walk in to pay, you get maybe a straight to the point greeting without a bunch of small talk, you pay, they give you your receipt and food, and boom your out the door. Once eating your food it's plump, fresh, piping hot morsels of General Tso's chicken and nice firm, freshly made Lo Mein. What more else to say other than it's been a mainstay in Hilliard for generations, it's better and visually cleaner on the inside than the other spot by the battery store down the street, it's also better than the spot on Hilliard Rome Rd close to the round about in the plaza across from McDonalds. Last but not least it's straight to the point which is pleasing to me. I'll be back.

Hidden , and selfishly I like it that way but the experience (i.e. food, price and customer service) is too good not to share. I've been going here for a little over a year and I've had everything from orange/ General Tso's chicken, shrimp foo young, chicken/shrimp fried rice, minced chicken, curry shrimp and shrimp with broccoli ( and there is more). Everything I've eaten here has been excellent and I keep trying new dishes. I always start with the hot n sour soup and then depending on hunger, I may opt for the minced chicken wraps. I love this place, and the service is great. I may be greedy at times, but that's because the food is great. The location is in a strip mall down towards the end where DMV and driving school is located . Trust me you will not be disappointed. The staff is so nice and I always look forward to seeing the young gentleman who remembers me and my family. Love it, you will also!

Stopped in with my boyfriend for dinner on a Friday evening. After working our way with our questions and requests with some communication issues, we shared an order of Chicken Teriyaki, which was really good. I also had Won Ton Soup which was ok but had a lot of sesame oil in it. The Wor Su Gai had very crisp and tasty chicken however the side of gravy had so much flour in it, that is all I tasted. The fried rice was just rice with soy sauce. No flavor. My boyfriend ordered Lo Mein which was really good. If we come back, I will order this instead.

3.0 Stars Location Overview: This little restaurant is located in the Kroger shopping plaza next to the BMV on Cemetary Rd. It is a decent size, no real decor going on, however good for parties from 4-6 people. Can get a little warm if the lunch rush is in and the kitchen is at work all at once. Customer Service: The customer service here was great, all waitresses were attentive. No real complaints about their hospitality. Quality/Quantity: The quality of the food was good. It looked great just a tad bland. I will have to give a different dish a try the next time to make sure it wasn't just me. The quantity of the food is just like any Chinese restaurant that you go to - get a big bang of food for your buck$$. Side Notes: Decent for a quick lunch break.

Once upon a time, i lived in Hilliard within a prison camp type apartment complex right behind the strip mall where Grand China resides. The restaurant was in easy walking distance, served up very tasty food at a decent price, and soon became my standby Chinese eatery. I am a bit embarrassed to admit that that was almost ten years ago and i haven't been back since. I don't crave Chinese cuisine very often these days. I vaguely remember some stir fried chicken dish that was sweet and hot and really hit the spot. I remember something a little more exotic that contained perhaps paddy straw mushrooms and was savory. I also remember the help being pleasant. Grand China's longevity attests to how it's been doing things right over the years. Maybe i'll stop in there for old time's sake sometime soon.

Snow pea and shrimp. A little too sweet for me.

When I was busy and hungry, I use this restaurant for to go order because it is very convenient location for me. From my experience, their food tends to be sweeter than other Chinese restaurants'. I like their BBQ ribs, hot sour soup, and house special mei fun. ...but, I think they use too much MSG. Even though I'm not picky about MSG, I felt strong MSG aftereffect in my mouth after I had their food. I hope they could reduce MSG usage.

Pretty loud and hard to hear, but that vibe is OK for a boil place to me. Only waited about 15 minutes. Two adults, two elementary kids. I like Lees of all the boil places because they have good options for non seafood people too. Both kids found wings, chicken fettuccini, etc. Started with the hushpuppies, about 12 smallish sized but a perfect starter for 4 people. Came with ketchup, I wish they would do a remoulade option. My wife and I split the duo (snow crab, shrimp) and I decided to add a LB of blue crab. Medium homemade juice sauce (always....it's sooo damn good). Snow crab was really good this time, snappy not bendy like some places. knuckles sweet and not overly briny. Perfectly cooked and came apart and out easily. Shrimp were just a tad overcooked but not much. Potatoes were perfect. We sub +1 tater for the egg. Corn is never good at these places. :) gotta do those fresh not frozen to get it right. The blue crab had good flavor. However, crazy overcooked which made getting meat out damn near impossible. Stringy instead of in chunks and stuck totally to the shell. I mostly gave up. My biggest complaint is they have ZERO typical utensils. No crackers/pickers/hammers/etc. I managed to cut myself trying to get into a snow crab large claw, and the lack of pickers made the blue crab impossible to eat. I'm bringing my own next time....serious. Finished with the fried oreos which were a perfect finish to the meal. 6 oreos for $6 was a great price.

Food was good, my only complaint was the amount of sauce, they held back on the sauce I could've boughten the extra sauce but wasn't looking for it to be drenched, but looking for alittle more love in the boil, especially since it was a lot of food and I had to take some home and reheat it. Other than that a great place, nice people good food!

On a Friday night at 6:45PM our party of two was seated immediately at a 2-top. Larger parties were waiting. My buddy ordered the prime rib, his regular, and it was served as ordered - rare. A Delicious Time Machine You Actually Want to Eat In…read more Windward Passage is the kind of restaurant that makes you feel like you've stepped straight into 1978, in the best possible way. If you've ever thought, "Man, I miss the days when dishes had names and not just 'deconstructed concepts,'" this place is your new home base. Appetizer - Coquille St. James Sea scallops, sauce, mashed potatoes... basically a fancy seafood shepherd's pie that your nostalgic inner child will absolutely high-five you for ordering. Rich, creamy, comforting -- it's like a culinary hug from a decade with better music. Waldorf Salad Phenomenal. Flavorful. The kind of salad that reminds you why this dish used to be the Beyoncé of dinner parties. Fresh Catch - Haddock No picture, but you can tell this fish was fresh. Like, "probably had weekend plans before it met the kitchen" fresh. Decor Dated. Dark. And somehow awesome. Imagine the set of a 70s maritime movie, but everyone's actually having a good time. Atmosphere They open at 4 PM and there's a line -- because apparently everyone else also loves time travel. I was probably one of the youngest people there, which is a strange but empowering feeling. Like being the rookie on a team of seasoned pros. The staff? Super friendly. Pro tip: the bar fills up FAST. Olympic speed. If you want a bar seat, you need reflexes. Also heard the dining room runs warm -- so if you run hot, maybe bring a tiny fan or pretend you're on a tropical cruise. Final Verdict: Windward Passage is a retro gem with hearty food, friendly vibes, and the kind of throwback charm that makes you grin. I'm absolutely putting this into rotation with friends for bar hangs, drinks, and really good food.
