Party of 7 seated outside the gentleman was knowledgeable, patient , very on top of everything. It says it's like a dinner the menu is intense. But seemed more like a Mexican restaurant to me. They also serve alcohol. Please is pretty big inside and they also have a patio the guy told us. My young daughter ordered a grill cheese, my oldest daughter got a steak burrito. All the adults orders tacos chicken, steak and shrimp. We all loved it full of flavor . The kids liked their food. The margarita was okay. The guys got beers and my friend got a virgin piña colada. The guy also brought us a Finn's if shots on the house which was very nice of him but it was gross he said it was mezcal. We will definitely come again

Groovy day Yelpers! So it's the Saturday before the New Year's and my sister and I decide we will go for the last brunch of the year at this groovy spot. When we arrived I noted that the Mexican brunch menu was cool but ultimately after I had my hot peppermint tea with honey, I went for a turkey burger deluxe with Monterey Jack cheese and turkey bacon. My sister ordered a Cuban. The turkey burger was standard but the coleslaw was the truth!!! The pineapple mojito was nice. My sister enjoyed the Cuban but really enjoyed the Cuba libre even more, maybe because it was so strong. What makes this place groovy is the ambience and friendly service. If you are looking for a cool brunch spot to sit and talk this is your spot! Cheers!

Let's start by saying the bathroom was clean lol we really had to pee and since we had to get lunch we figured let's check this place out. I ordered the corn beef hash and babe had a burger delux with waffle Fries. The waitress was friendly and there was no wait to get seated which was great. You MUST be vaccinated and present proof. So far so good! I can't wait to actually taste the food.

I had a very bad experience at this Diner. I was very surprised about the treatment that was given. I ordered an omelette with tomatoes, spinach and chicken. Once the food came out, it looked really good. I began eating it and noticed there was a white paper wrapper that must have came from the cheese that was cooked inside of the food. I immediately brought it to the attention of the cook and called for the manager. The young man can to my table to investigate it and thought it was funny. He asked me was that paper in my food as I picked the paper out of the food with my fork. He removed the plate and took it back to the kitchen. I sat at the table for at least 15 minutes before anyone came back to say anything. Once the female manager came, she didn't have the best attitude. She said she was busy and walked away to attend other customers. I waiter another 15 minutes and she came back to say, she will remove it from the bill with an attitude.

One of the best diners in the area. I like that they have a Mexican menu and a TV playing the news in their outdoor seating. Burrito and chicken parm sandwich very very good. Prompt and friendly service. Only flaw is there are flies outside which is annoying, but to no fault of the restaurant's.

Had breakfast at Grand Canyon Diner on Saturday morning. Standard diner fare, less homemade than other spots, and a bit expensive. Quality: Grand Canyon Diner is an old-school diner with a bit of a Tex-Mex preference. We started with a Large Iced Coffee, which was served in a huge goblet. The Mozzarella Sticks were okay, a bit too much breading, and the French Fries were fine. The Giant Breakfast comes with eggs, meats, and a choice of French Toast, waffles, or pancakes. I selected French Toast, which I was not thrilled with, but the meats and eggs were good. Quantity: Huge portion sizes for everything. Value: $4 for a Large Iced Coffee. $9 for Mozzarella Sticks. $6 for French Fries. $17 for a Giant Breakfast. Ambiance: Grand Canyon Diner is located in Park Slope. It is an older diner and is definitely in need of some updates inside. Outside they have a fairly large covered structure as well as some tables along the sidewalk. Inside they have a waiting area, then booths in the raised area behind it. The narrow and dark inside area feels very cramped. Crowd: Almost every table filled up on Saturday morning. Service: Not enough emphasis on the outdoor diners. Parking: A few spots out front.

    Garden Omelet with homefries

Sunday, August 2q, 2022, around noonish, party of 2. We had a nice table in the back out of the way and not on top of other tables. 2 piping fresh cups of coffee came quickly with 2 cups of iced water as well as a bottle of cold water for refills. The lady order spinach, onion, and green pepper egg white omelets with home fries and a side of bacon. She enjoyed every bite as well as her toast. I had a garden omelet with home fries and a side of chorizo which went well on top of the omelet and homefries. Awesome and attentive staff and coffee refills were quick. A great spot to grab a nice breakfast.

Great diner in Brooklyn ! We ate outside in the back patio. I had the veggie burger with salad which was delicious! My dining partners also had a veggie burger and other burgers which they thoroughly enjoyed' Dining felt clean, safe and food was tasty. A great place to stop on 7th Ave and 2nd St.

Ya never know. This used to be part of the charm, but now it's a liability because friends (and other chefs in the neighborhood) never want to go to Diner because...ya never know what it'll be. Diner has never coasted on continuity. They change up the menu every day. They write it on the paper tablecloth, for Chrissakes. But I still love that! I still find most of the food to be delicious (if pricey), I still think their cocktails are well-made (even if their bar is weirdly slow) and I love their brunch and I love the vibe, and I'm glad it's still here. Their Caesar salad is overrated, as is the burger, but they're always mixing it up. You could get lucky. Ya never know...

Cozy interior, but the concept seemed like...trying too hard to be different and hip...? Why do you make your waiters write down the menu on the table for each group of guests? Doesnt even save paper since those menus are not reused. And honestly, our waiter's handwriting was sometimes hard to read. Also, quite pricey. The crab pasta was $35, the celery root was also $35 (like what?!), the squash was $23, and the Caesar salad (not pictured) was $22. Service was friendly and knowledgeable on the food but slow.

But if you're looking for some excellent, straight forward, wonderfully crafted simplicity, this is in your wheelhouse. A quesadilla is a quesadilla, a hamburger a hamburger. Sounds boring? Not when your hamburger and quesadilla are amongst the best you've ever had at any diner, anywhere. Our waitress was very nice and allowed us to dine, unbothered. The dining area certainly belies what happens in that kitchen behind the door. I'll be back to try some more simple, but excellent food.

This spot has a handful of tables and while we were there, quite a few to-go orders were picked up as well. Though we were the only diners, so I assume it's more of a breakfast/brunch spot. The menu is rather expansive with options from breakfast to lunch and dinner. After studying the menu, we opted for the Veggie Burger and the Meatball Parm Po'Boy. Our food was ready in about 20 minutes, which seemed a little long as we were the only diners, but we were not in a rush so it was fine. As the restaurant was unassuming, I honestly had pretty low expectations, but we both really enjoyed our meals. It was definitely large portions and really flavorful. My fiance said the Meatball Parm Po'Boy was delicious and I appreciated that the veggie burger seemed to be made in house as it was falling apart (in a good way) and you could distinguish some of the veggies. I ended up only eating about half of my burger and took the rest for lunch the next day and it held up well.

While they have all the traditional breakfast fare, I was so happy to see it also had a Caribbean twist to it. I couldn't help myself--I had to order rice and beans with pernil (pork shoulder) and a side of sweet plantains. Of course, I wanted some actual breakfast items, so we got the French toast loaded with fruit. We also got both the tres and quatro golpes, which is a traditional Dominican breakfast. Lastly, we got a Caribbean omelet. My rice and pernil was solid. The rice could've used a tad bit more seasoning but when mixed with the side of beans and plantains plus a drizzle of hot sauce it was perfect. They had a variety of sauces--Tabasco (my fave), a Jamaican one that was super spicy, and a mild homemade one. The tres/quatro golpes was also a hearty choice with mangu (mashed plantain), sausage, fried cheese, and eggs. The pickled red onion balanced everything out. The fried cheese is similar to a halloumi but I think it's a bit more flavorful. All the flavors just melt together in your mouth perfectly. The French toast and omelet were good. I'd say the Caribbean items stole the show though. The place has a typical diner vibe and is on the small side. Food was served quickly and service was good. Discount if you pay in cash. Apparently there is more than one location in Manhattan. The inside reminded me of a classic diner. Comfy and with a pretty cool vibe. We all slid into a booth and looked over the seasonal offerings along with their standard menu. I was lured by the chicken Kyiv based on the picture of having two rolled up chicken cutlets stuffed with dill and other yumminess, but was a bit disappointment when it arrived with a single small cutlet on my plate with two heaping mounds of potatoes mash and broccoli. I instantly had regret when I should have gotten the borscht soup with pierogies, but wanted to try something I wouldn't usually. I should've stuck to what was safe. My work mom got the stuffed cabbage and that was a clear homerun- really loved the mushroom gravy that it came with. My other colleague got the potato pancake and wasn't too thrilled with it, while my boss got the two Swedish meatballs that he described to be Ikea worthy. Although this was my first time here, I can't say that anyone really loved the food nor would come out of their way to come back. I really was hoping this would have wow-ed me in some way, but I guess I'll stick to what's familiar.

Cuisine: 7 Service: 9…read moreDecor: 8 Value: 7 Overall: 8 I have always been a fan of the original Veselka in Manhattan since my days in college, so finally visiting the new Williamsburg location is well overdue. A friend and I each got a soup to start our meal, along with sharing a Potato Pancake. The Matzoh Ball Soup and Potato Pancake were good, but not great. However, I enjoyed the Pork & Cabbage Soup enough to take home a quart. For entree, we shared a Deluxe Meat Plate that was quite delicious. All three pierogi flavors were great, but the short rib was my favorite, followed closely by the mushroom & sauerkraut. I also really enjoyed the grilled kielbasa, but sadly it was served at room temperature. Lastly, the stuffed cabbage is not usually my thing, yet I liked this version. Once again, it was served barely warm. Thankfully, we finished on a high note. My friend really wanted the Challah Bread Pudding, which was moist and tasty. However, the lovely waitress advised us strongly to try the Medovyk. This Ukrainian layered honey cake had a wonderful texture, not too creamy or sweet, with a great walnut flavor. We were extremely happy with her suggestion. We also really liked the diner vibes that felt warm and inviting. This was so close to a five star review. The main reason for the deduction was the temperature of our food being served. Hopefully that problem will be solved on my next visit.
