For you Brooklyners, I will quickly get this out of the way. This and Little Purity down the street are indeed owned and operated by the same family of siblings. The oldest sibling, John, operates this one, and the two younger siblings, Nick and Rini, operate Little Purity. There is another brother, Alex, who helps run this diner, but I did not see him during my visit. Anyway, I stopped in here partly as a challenge to see if this diner is just as good as the other, if not better. The food I ordered, the French toast and a chocolate milkshake, are tasty and filling. However, I do feel the menu offerings at Little Purity are tastier and more eclectic. Basic diner fare is the theme here. Little Purity has a more trendier atmosphere. I do appreciate the vibe Purity Diner is going for with its old school booths and New York sports paraphernalia. That is all well and good. However, the overall feel is one that is a little more austere and stuffy. It is eat your meal, and kindly leave. At Little Purity, I could stay as long as I wish and Nick and Rini would not care one iota. The thing I do like here is it is a quieter ambiance, so after a long day it is nice to stop in, and eat something easy with some peace and quiet. I spoke to John (a really nice, lowkey, soft spoken man unlike his siblings, though that is not necessarily a bad thing), and he confirmed this. That is the vibe he is going for. The food is a little more expensive here than at Little Purity, but I can put that petty difference aside because again, it is Park Slope. You will pay in this neighborhood. And it is not like the prices are so astronomical that will break the bank. What it really boils down to is feeling welcome, valued, with good food to boot. Both have it, but I feel you have to put in some effort here if you want to walk out feeling satisfied, whereas at Little Purity, it is effortless. Good food alone will only get you so far. I visited on a Thursday morning and was promptly seated. The waiters were all pleasant and accommodating. They were quick to correct minor mistakes and the food was great quality. This restaurant is walking distance from the hospital and will be my new go to when I'm in that area. We came in at 2:50pm on a Sunday and were informed that the kitchen closes at 3pm and the establishment closes at 4pm. Our order was rushed to the kitchen, as were many others, from customers who came in by the last minute till 3pm. Host was so amiable and accommodating. Lovely guy. Waiters & busboys were visibly harried and stressed. We felt uncomfortable taking up space at a time when staff clearly looked ready to close up. Only on Sundays they close so early, so be warned. Pleasant atmosphere, casual and low stakes. Classic rock & holiday tunes playing on the radio. The chicken teriyaki sandwich $19 surprised with a good portion of grilled chicken breast. Didn't feel any teriyaki anywhere--just a plain grilled chicken breast with a few sautéed onions. But solid if you're hungry and need a decent portion of protein. The standard diner fries are noting to write home about--typical fast food quality. Gyro platter was a serious disappointment, especially after being recommended by our waiter. The Greek salad was the only enjoyable part (and how hard is it to throw a bagged salad and some feta on a plate?). The "gyro" was something awful: four pieces of highly processed breakfast mystery "meat". We had stomach issues on the toilet, in the evening, after this particular "meat". Do not get if you value your health. Inedible and dangerous to the health. A $2 upcharge for sweet potatoes fries was not worth it. Another bagged, pre frozen fast food fries variety. Loved this little spot. There's a lot of breakfast locations in this area but this is definitely one to check out! Immediately when we walked in we were greeted by the most friendly servers. Our booth was comfortable, clean and spacious. Our server was attentive, friendly, and quick. The food was fresh and delicious. I got the Nova lox bagel with cream cheese, with a side of sausages. My fiancé got pancakes with home fries and everything was cooked and flavored to perfection. We walked away satisfied and planning to come back. It was also very affordable! After we used the bathroom and left , the owner had the nerve to chase me and my 4 year old down the street to harrass us about the state we left the bathroom in and how "nice" he was for letting us use the bathroom. Purity Diner is my go-to diner. The food and service never disappoint. I always end up either getting my usual breakfast order of eggs that come with a side of fries and toast with an iced coffee. In terms of service, I don't think I've ever waited longer than 20 minutes for a seat and the 20 minutes was because there was only outdoor seating available (during COVID). Now that indoor seating is available at a limited capacity, you are required to sign in if you'd like to eat inside and write your name, phone number and the time you came in. Also, the waitresses/waiters are always there when needed, as are the other employees refilling your coffee etc. In terms of price, I would say the prices are standard diner prices. But you will definitely get a good portion of food for the price paid. Ordered breakfast at Purity Diner on Saturday morning. My meal was a mixed bag of food that showed the limitations of this diner. Quality: Purity Diner serves up pretty standard diner fare. I ordered the HE-MAN Combo, which was French Toast with Bacon, Ham, Sausage, and Eggs. The French Toast was excellent, but the meats and eggs were not very good. It felt too much like frozen items. The French Fries, which we ordered steak-style, were very good. I also enjoyed my Vanilla Milkshake, though additional flavors are needed. Quantity: Large portions of everything. Value: $15 for the HE-MAN Combo. $4 for French Fries. $5 for a Milkshake. Ambiance: Purity Diner is located across the street from the hospital in Park Slope. They have a large outdoor dining area, constructed during COVID. They also have a fair amount of seating inside, a mix of tables and booths. A bar area is located in the front and two televisions play on opposite sides of the restaurant. Some classic rock music was on in the background. Your basic standard and average diner, Purity is a decent option if you want a change from the other restaurants of various cuisines along 7th Avenue. I've eaten here twice recently and observed the prices to be slightly elevated and/or typical of diner prices. I'm not a huge fan of diners except when I crave an all day breakfast selection. I did just that upon the first visit. I ordered the Californian omelet which included avocado, cheese (I selected Swiss) and mushrooms. It was accompanied by toast and home fries. I liked it enough and considered it satisfying. For my second visit, I ordered the Grilled Chicken sandwich with melted Swiss cheese. Served on a soft bun, it was accompanied by Cole Slaw, French Fries, lettuce, tomatoes and a pickle spear. Again, it was filling and satisfying. But I definitely tasted better. There was something about the fries, steak cut, that was amiss and flavorless. Service was good and atmosphere was average. Such a terrible experience. I have been coming to this diner my entire life about once a year.The food is always terrible. I always try to have the benefit of the doubt on and off to support a local business. 8 always leave so disappointed and I'm finally posting a review. Management and service is rude. Do yourself a favor and head over to The Donut Shop on the next block. The eggs were rotten, and the burger that was ordered was uncooked. It was ordered medium well - and came very raw. The manager had said that it was medium well. The wrap that I had was the grilled chicken Greek wrap. The chicken was nearly non existent but also had chunks of cartilage. I always think to order Greek food in a diner because it's a safe bet. The order was suppose to come with a specific sauce and it was like a watered down mayo. Management did not even seem remorseful when we had mentioned that the food was undercooked. Service was incredibly rude. We had ordered food a specific way for dietary reasons. It was very dangerous. When we had mentioned that the eggs from the omelette were not good, we did not receive an apology and the manager just starred at us. I feel that this is not the way the hospitality industry should be. The mashed potatoes tasted like they were instant. This diner is always empty. The bathrooms are always dirty. We had asked the waiter for water and we were not given the water. We asked the manager again - and still were not brought water. We had mentioned it to the manager for a second time about the water - and they still didn't bring us water. We needed this. We were refused to be given water after we had complained about the food that was rotten and undercooked. My family member is on medication and needs water. I had this experience with a female manager on Saturday, June 22 and 3:30pm. I had asked for the managers name to report to the owner and she would not tell me her name. When I asked if I could speak with the manager she said that he was away in Greece. We were given food that was rotten. Very good diner! After a trip to Barnes and Noble my siblings and I decided to grab some lunch here. The staff is very nice. The food is very good as well. Food: I ordered the turkey burger (added bacon to it) and it was delicious. I did have to add some pepper and salt to it lol because it needed a little more seasoning. My sister ordered the turkey burger as well and she enjoyed it. The burger is very juicy and nicely put together (not sloppy or anything). Arriving a little early, as there might be a short wait for a table. 4. After you're done eating, saying you're running late for something else so you can leave and let someone else pay. The worst experience ever! I was released from the ER at Presbyterian Hosp and couldn't wait to hit this Diner. I didn't even need a menu, I asked if there was wine and ordered 1 of the only 2 wines they had. I didn't like it and asked to change it Alex (the host I guess manager said "well I can't pour it back in the bottle", (who says that?!) I said I'll pay for it and asked for the only other thing and OJ. Alex says you know what I think you should just leave. He never even approached me or my table but spoke across the room in front of everyone. I'm not serving you. I was shocked! I said excuse me I offered to pay for it bc I DIDNT LIKE IT. He said you called it terrible you should leave. I said what do you care did you MAKE the wine? He was very rude and acted very "priveledged". I didn't want to make more and left. But I did go back and give him the finger. I own and operate a wine store in Bk and have worked in restaurant service for years NEVER have I treated or been treated so rudely. I said I guess if I was a different person (meaning not Black) maybe he would be different. I think he should be reprimanded and FIRED. You choose to not serve someone for not liking your cheap wine? I went to the Purity diner today and it was pretty good. We walked in, noticed the ambiance was family friendly and staff was courteous. We sat down and were given an extensive menu. My boyfriend had the sampler platter and pizza fries. The pizza fries were tasty, decent size portion and covered in delicious cheese. The sampler was enough to feed two people. It came with chicken tenders, buffalo wings and mozzarella sticks. I had the steak and eggs. The eggs were decent but my only issue is the steak. The steak could've been seasoned a little better. The steak depended on the seasoning of the eggs to give it a lift. I would definitely come back for the food and service. Great place. read more

This is your basic dinner however not at diner prices, hmmm. I was taking my husband to do same day surgery at Methodist which is across the Street. Therefore Had to wait on him so I figure I get some diner food Tuna sandwich on whole wheat toast with tomatoes and large ice coffee $11.80 to go.
