I'm a big fan of breakfast. The value is great and the pancakes are some of the best I've had.

Had not been here in a while. Was starving (missed lunch). This time service was better than my last visit. Food came out fast. Got ribs and links to go. Went to eat my food but no fork of spoon or anything. (napkin? NOT). OK so now I have to go home to eat this. Links good but not cut. Gotta find a knife and a fork. Ribs good and tender. I wonder what the sauce taste like? I thought I saw sauce in the other togo orders. I guess I have to ask if I want sauce. Too bad, wondered what it would taste like? Maybe that's why I didn't get napkins? No sauce no mess. BBQ, it's ALL about the sauce. Oh good, have some Kinders in the fridge. Their BBQ sauce is always good. Now where are those two sides that came with? Oh bite bite and they are gone. Two teaspoons each. Why bother with such small portions. Oh I paid over $20 for all this no sauce, no fork and small sides. that's why. Oh well nice try. Thought I would give them another chance this time. Oh well... If you go, make sure to check your bag and make sure you get a fork, napkins and sauce. Wouldn't want you to feel like I did. Sorry about the review but I didn't get to taste anything. Who are writing 4 star reviews on this place? 1 star seems generous! I am not a picky eater and if it's okay food im good. This was pure unadulterated crap! The baby backs tasted day old as if reheated. The mac n cheese had a weird red garlic sauce with barely any cheese or creaminess. Red beans and rice were sticky and tasted old with no flavor. Green beans soggy and oversalted. They could have served me boxed Kraft mac n cheese and it would have been 10x better. My friends steak sandwich had stale bread and SURPRISE! Meat was dry. The chicken was the best thing my other friend had and it was only fair. Service was so slow and we waited 20 minutes before we got silverware and we asked several times. I'm guessing the owner has 10 yelp accounts and keeps posting positive reviews along with family members lies of 4 star "greatness"! PLEASE do not eat here! Go to Outback, Texas back 40, Kinders, or any other chain who can do better than this especially for BBQ and even they don't have the best but they're world's ahead of this mess! I went here for lunch. It was ok, a bit sub-par for the price. The meat was a little dry, I had to add more sauce to it. Not much flavor to the sides. But the strawberry lemonade (served in a huge mason jar!) was wonderful. I would probably go again, when they have live music. read more

I recently hosted a birthday party which included 16 adults/4 kids and ordered the Family Feast off Gracie's menu. Although the chicken breasts were just a tad on the dry side, everything else (BBQ chicken, ribs, links, rice and beans, corn bread and salads) was SUPERB! Everyone asked where the food came from as they wanted to be sure to stop by for lunch and/or cater their next gathering from Gracie's as well. The menu states it would feed 20, but it would have easily fed 25 hungry adults. We were able to send several of our happy guests home with ample leftover portions. read more

Wow, I can't believe this place has four stars. What a laugh. I suppose if you like food that has been literally dipped in butter, fat and oil, and truck stop service, then this is the place for you! I have worked in the service industry for a long time, and although I have been to some of the finest restaurants in the world, I am no snob. I will fall over myself for a good barbecue joint! This place was pretty much disgusting. If you are looking for a fun place to have dinner on the weekend just venture down the street to the new Cuban restaurant Havana Sol. The food and meat is all organic and cooked to perfection, and you won't suffer a massive coronary after just one meal. Consistently good food. For dinner we usually share baby blue salad, small plate of chicken and a half rack of spare ribs. Corn bread and green beans are very good too. We went there for breakfast a few times. Patti's salsa verde omelet was delicious and had a nice kick. Homestyle potatoes - just perfect. Crunchy on the outside, soft inside. Love the food, love the atmosphere, love the people, love the live music on Fridays! They do take out so when craving BBQ can still have it at home when having a bad hair day! The only thing I wish they served is wine. Allergic to beer and would like to enjoy a drink when my fellow eaters are having a cold beer! Otherwise couldn't be better! read more

I visited after seeing the good reviews and commercials on tv. I wish I had a good experience. My sister ordered a lemonade, they never brought it. They still tried to charge us. Ridiculous. Also, the food was awful, except my sister's tri-tip sandwich. The BBQ sauce had a weird flavor to me and it wasn't tasty at all. I don't know how this restaurant has good reviews. We are regulars at Gracie's, oddly enough because they make a great salad. I am a huge fan of their Kitchen Sink salad, full of hard-boiled eggs, bleu cheese, dried cranberries, and avocados; it's my favorite salad in Vallejo and we're usually there at least once a week -- sometimes more often in the restaurant as well as getting take-out. The wait staff is delightful and friendly and some of them remember us and our usual orders and will ask if we need menus or not. I do not eat meat or poultry, so I cannot comment on their barbecue but everyone I have brought there has enjoyed it. it is true that sometimes portion size varies but that does not bother me enough to eat there less often, so I give them five stars. read more

I`ve tried this place three times, two times in side and this last time to go. The combo plate was what I wanted but no choice was even offered. I thought maybe you get to pick the meat and sides. The service was fantastic! The food was so-so with average portion sizes. The hot links do have a bite but the texture was a bit mushy. The chicken breast were very thin but cooked perfectly and the beef was decent. Corn bread was spot-on. Somehow they were out of their side special (scalloped potatoes) at 5:30 PM. The sodas and tea are served in oversized mason jars which is a great touch. A bit pricey for what you receive, but a nice place for a change of pace. read more

Breakfast on Sunday morning. Not too crowded, seated quickly. Server came quickly took drink orders and food order upon delivering drinks. Sweet tea was not sweet. I ordered ham and Jack cheese omelet on croissant. I was given sausage eggs and cheddar on a biscuit. Sent it back then got sausage egg and cheddar on croissant. Requested menu so I could point out exactly what I ordered. When the waitress said "oh you wanted...etc. my response. I just want what I ordered, duh!!!! No apology. When I finally received the correct food, it was good, but the potatoes on the returned plate were better, crispier. My companions food was all correct, Farmers breakfast-looked the best. I've been going there for 4 years. Not anymore. Breakfasts R the worst: cold hard biscuits, cold greasy potatoes, tasteless sausage, burrito that could hammer nails. The Meat Lovers salad for take out had three small bites of meat and $12.00 worth of lettuce on it. $4.50+ for a lg. lemonade! The help needs help. Gracie's loves Vallejo as long as we keep giving them rather large amounts of our hard earned money for very little in return. read more

OMG! The ribs were amazing. The meat just fell off the bone and the taste wasexquisite! The chicken was very tasty also. I enjoyed the cornbread. The only fault I found was a lack of different side dishes. The sweet tea is very tasty also. Every time I am in Vallejo, I have to stop at Gracie's because the food is awesome. Had only been here for breakfast once before on a Saturday & it was great, food, service entire experience. Decided to bring my in law here for her birthday on Sunday 8/30, bad choice. First of all, 3 adults were sat at a table for 2, we asked to move to a bigger table & we were accomodated. My sweetie's food was fine, I ordered the Salsa Verde omelet, it looked like a scramble with salsa on top, nothing resembling an omelet. My InLaw ordered the ham crossanwich, they 1st brought a biscuit with sausauge & cheddar cheese, sent that back as it was supposed to be on a croissant. Then they sent the busboy with the croissant with sausage & cheddar, wrong again. She then asked to speak to the waitress who returned saying "what you said you wanted a croissant". Birthday girl had to point out to waitress that her order called for ham & jack cheese on a croissant, the waitresses only response was"oh". The proper dish was then served by the bus boy, who was the only person to consistently serve our party. I was really disappointed, our waitress never came to see"if everything was ok", therefore we all agreed the busboy deserved the tip & we all hoped they didn't share as no one else earned any, or even owned their mistakes. I guess BBQ is what they do best, won't see me for along time, definetly will not be recommending to anyone. read more

DO NOT EAT HERE!!!! I went here to get what I thought would be a yummy dinner, boy was I wrong. Stopped here grabbed food on my way home from work, got home all ready to dig in as I'm eating I saw a bug on my food so I didn't believe what I was seeing so I dug in a little further and UGHHH there was more bugs, I almost threw up immediately I was sick to my stomach! So I called them to tell them what had just happened and I guess they didn't believe me they had the nerve to tell me to bring it down there REALLY ARE YOU F*%#ING kidding me I barely want to touch the damn container and now I have to pick it up and bring it down there WOW?!? So I get down there the dumb ass suppose to be manager actually opened it up to really look inside NASTY right! As much as I like Gracie's and want to support local business I don't know if I will be back after my experience yesterday. I arrived with The Mustang Club. While we were being seated outside I asked the waitress if she could clean the bird poop off the seat where my husband and I were going to sit. We stood waiting for 10 minutes before squeezing into a different table. As we were waiting and waiting to place our orders or even receive water we watched table after table placing their orders and receiving their food. After waiting a half hour I raised my voice and asked the waitress if we could order drinks. All I got in return was a firm, "NO." We were thirsty and sitting outside so I said, "Well, Can we have water?" Her response, "NO." As she was walking away she mutters, "There's only two of us here..." WTH?!?!?! This has to be the absolute worst customer service I've ever received. My husband and I got up and left and ended up having a nice dinner with courteous service at Red Lobster...and those seats were still covered in bird poop when we left. read more

i went to gracies for something different. i had not been in years. now i know why it had been years. the meat was burnt. the left overs did not become better the next day they were dry and unchewable. the potato salad was strange, i forget one of the reasons why i quit going to gracies because who eats beans and rice with barbeque. when i go to these places i often wonder why don't i cook it myself and get what i want instead of buying the menu of someone else. when i come up with the reason it's just too lazy to cook not because i can't do WAY BETTER. i was not impressed with this food at all. when i got home, got to eating and thought man i wasted some money on something that is just not worth that much money. i got the combo so i could taste it all i got was one whole leg of chicken cut in half. maybe 4 or 5 ribs cut in half to look like more two links and a bunch of little containers of a variety of substances, and i guess the award winning corn bread. none of which i ate only tasted, jiffy is better. won't be going back for a long time. or quit complaining and cook my own which is the reason there aren't more barbeque joints. at home is so much better than places like this. ( i noticed that a gratituty was included in the price with customers over 6 in party. betcha they don't tell you that and you still leave a tip not noticing that. i betcha they put a tip in every meal just in case. i didn't leave a tip probably called me all kinds of names, i figure no table, no water, no nothing that anyone did to get a tip. i don't leave a tip at mcdonalds either. that is their job. don't like it don't work there.) read more
