I left an extra pair of jeans that were the proper length for them to use for reference and away I went. Picked up my jeans yesterday and they are absolutely perfect. The hemming looks great and all my jeans hit exactly where they should. I haven't used this place for dry cleaning but they'll be my go-to for alterations from now on. DO NOT BRING YOUR WEDDING GOWN HERE. I brought my daughters wedding gown. Yes it was very dirty at the hemline as it rained before photos in Chicago however they did not tell me that it couldn't be cleaned, or that they were not capable of cleaning the gown, yet they had no problem charging full price even though the dress did not clean at all. Very very disappointed. When I told them how disappointed I was, they basically threw me out of the store after grabbing my credit card payment so fast. They even tried to over charge for boxing the gown. Almost forgot...when I chose hanging rather than boxed and asked if they had an acid free bag to hang it, they put the gown in a David's bridal bag and claimed that was a $40 acid free bag. Hands down the best tailor in Chicago. I brought in a bridesmaid dress to be taken in basically everywhere, it was a mess. My friend raved about this place so I went. Looks like a couple runs this cleaners, with the lady working as the tailor. She is very sweet and definitely knows what she is doing, very professional. Dress was completed in plenty of time and fit like a glove. Husband held the door for me on my way out too - i love that old school charm! We went to Grace for 5 years as semi-regulars. My fiancée recently brought a dress in for a cleaning and when it was returned to her it had shrunk to a level that made it unwearable. Really did not want to leave Grace Cleaners as they are the most convenient cleaners for me. I took a new sweater to be dry cleaned and it came back with a sizeable hole. I know it wasn't there prior to dropping it off because it is very noticeable. I would have given them another chance had they simply said they could not know if they were responsible and offered a complimentary cleaning or something similar. I've been going here for more than a year. They have always been welcoming and offered a warm greeting, and have never lost or even returned any of my items late or damaged. They hold the door open for you when you have alot to carry and will help you load stuff into your car if you ask. The prices are fair, considering the extraordinary level of service. These people are horrible. I had them do a couple things to my wedding dress. They charged me $180 and handed it to me undone and in a ball. I had to chase down another place to get it steamed so I could get married! When I went back to complain, they ripped the receipt out of my hand, refused to talk to me, and practically threw me out of the store... I wasn't even irate. I just wanted a refund! Most people go to the closest dry cleaner for convenience sake but I'd recommend anyone in the Lakeview area to try Grace Cleaners out. I've been going there for over three years and they've always been able to accommodate getting my cleaning done by when I needed it with quality results at a good price. I have a pair of white pants that I thought were ruined after a night out on the town and they were able to get them to be wearable again. I had been going here for awhile with mixed satisfaction, but it was close, so that made it easy. Most recently, I dropped off seven dress shirts to be cleaned and pressed. When I came to pick up, there were only 5. When I asked about the other 2, the owner said I must have made a mistake and forgotten how many I originally dropped off. Where's My Clothes? After the past year of noticing that I was randomly missing select outfits from dry cleaning, I approached the owners inquiring where my missing clothes were. After some random 'under-the-breath-deer-in-the-headlights' comments, I chalked it up that my clothes were missing. A smart person would have simply found another dry cleaner - apparently, I'm a glutton for punishment and my husband would continue to drop off clothes. When I received two sweaters that clearly weren't mine last week, I returned the two sweaters asking if there was a 'lost and found' or if anyone else maybe had my sweaters. "These are your sweaters...they match ticket!" My reply, "There is no way in hell those are my sweaters, not my size, and they're ugly. I wouldn't wear them." I gave them back, and when my nanny went to pick up the dry cleaning (note: pick-up, not drop-off) the same sweaters were now in the pick-up pile. "Those sweaters are yours! Take the sweaters!" Not my sweaters - anyone missing a Hollister and Cherokee sweater - in search of half of my wardrobe. I felt bad yelling at the owner since she kinda looks like my mom - but then again, my mom didn't lose half my wardrobe. Find someplace else, but if you find my clothes, let me know. read more

brought a few sweaters and a pair of pants in to get dry cleaned. the pants also needed to get the fallen hem fixed. when i came in to drop off i was quoted the price for the pants repair and the cost of dry cleaning the sweaters. when i picked up the prices were different and the girl who had quoted me the initial prices was the one who was charging me the higher price. i said to her "i was quoted a different price when i dropped these off" and her response was "oh". no reason to give my business to people who arbitrarily raise prices 2 days after you drop something off. there are enough cleaners up and down southport that can serve my dry cleaning needs. read more

After using this dry-cleaners exclusively for the last 12 years, I have officially had my last visit. I took my husband's sport coat in for cleaning and upon return the pocket square that was sewn into the pocket was missing. I asked them to contact the plant to see if they could find the missing piece. Today, at the pick up of another load of cleaning, I asked if they'd had luck finding it. The owner immediately raised his voice to me and stated "no, they can't find it, there's nothing I can do". I told him that I expected more from a business that I have been frequenting for more than a decade. He then yelled that it wasn't his fault that the plant couldn't find it. I then started that I would have to move my business elsewhere. He then slammed his fist on the counter and told me to "get out". He was beyond rude and I can't believe he would yell at anyone is his place of business, much less a loyal customer. Beware, it's all good until they make a mistake! read more
