Time to get an updated and recent review in for this place. Have been going here for years and years...ownership changed a long time ago and it's been nothing but a better experience since. I bring it all here. Shirts, suits, etc. Great for tailoring, as well. The wonderful woman that covers the front area is just as genuine and nice as can be. Everything is always completed to perfection, on-time, and at a competitive price. So grateful to have them in the neighborhood. Usually very simple street parking on Berteau during business hours, and often times right on Clark depending on time of day. read more

The family I work just moved down Southport and our old cleaners is suddenly a little far for me to walk to, so we had to switch. Luckily, this place is around the corner. I stop by at least once a week with various items, but last week my boss wanted some napkins cleaned as well as 26 items of clothing. I got it there in one load but I knew that I would have to do 2 trips to get it home, since a toddler accompanies me everywhere & we use her stroller to transport the items. The woman working wouldn't hear of me doing 2 trips. I grabbed the napkins, she grabbed a pile of clothes in each arm, and she WALKED US HOME. I have never had that level of customer service before. We will continue bringing our massive amounts of clothing for as long as my bosses live there. Loyalty earned. read more

Best dry cleaner in Wrigleyville...I've been going here since April 07 after trying many terrible cleaners in the Lakeview/Wrigley area. They are quick, had a great experience with their tailoring, got tough stains out of my white skirt, and reasonably priced (12 mens shirts and my skirt for $19). I haven't found a better dry cleaners with cheaper service. Only down side....they don't take credit cards at all. read more

I had a chiffon (it's a difficult fabric to clean) dress, with mysterious stains and intricate pleating. Basically- a dry cleaners worst nightmare. Swan took the extra time to clean and press it twice! It was perfect! I'm so thankful that they cleaned it well and it wasn't too expensive. Winning! read more

Boooo... When I moved to the Lakeview area, I looked for a more convenient dry cleaners. I quickly learned not to substitute quality and trust for convenience. They lost a ribbon to my skirt, which I was not happy about. The quality of the job was fine, but I'm just not going to risk losing anything else. I wish i were possible to give negative ratings. This place is HORRIBLE! They lost my sister's suede pillow cover for her couch and argued with me that I never brought it in. Right before that I watched them argue with a guy about how many shirts he had dropped off because apparently he remembered giving them more then what they gave back to him. They actually YELL at you. Lose your stuff and yell at you. There are too many places to take dry cleaning and tailoring around here for them to act in such a rude manner to those paying them for a service. read more

I love this place. The proprietors are the nicest people around. Typically, I make a dry cleaning trip about once per month, so generally, I bring in about 30-40 articles of clothing. Not only do I ALWAYS get a discount, but on several occasions, the owner has helped me walk my clothes home, despite my insistence that "I can handle it." And let's not forget about the Christmas presents, and the free collar stays! That is the kind of service you don't see too often. Swan has always done a great job cleaning my clothes, and the prices, while not bargain basement, are reasonable. My clothes are always ready on the promised date, and I have yet to have an article of clothing destroyed in the three-plus years I've been visiting. read more

If you're considering this place, don't. I am all about supporting my neighbors so I choose this cleaners as it is right up the street. The husband and wife team were great until they or their sub-contractors lost one of my uniforms. My company uses a particular pair of pants and shirt. On opening day, I went to pick up a clean uniform and drop off a soiled one. I could hear her in the back looking and becoming a little upset. She looked at me and said, "You, come help me". I began to go through all the wrapped clothes with her looking for my uniform. During that time, she suggested that I had already picked up my uniform. I told her I would leave and double check my closet and trunk of my car. I returned yet again and explained that it was not there. Her husband tried to produce a ticket to show I had already picked it up. Sorry mister, of course you're going to have a ticket. I rotate out the same two uniforms. I stood there in shocked because they showed no care or said how they were going to correct their wrong. I returned 2 days later looking for an answer and to see if my uniform showed up. Nothing. I produced a copy of my receipt from the clothing store in Chicago that showed what I had paid for a shirt and pair of pants. She said "10 days". Okay lady, I will wait your 10 days. I return after 10 days. She comes to me and tries to say they will pay me 45.00. I said no that is unacceptable. She said I didn't pay for the uniform I had dropped off. I said I did and had the credit card statement to show that I did indeed pay your husband. She wrote out 65.00 on a piece of paper and I said fine. I just wanted to be done. Mind you, I had spent 110.00 per uniform for 1 shirt and pair of pants, plus had them altered there. Over 90.00 in alterations because they also did 2 sports coats. Upon her handing me a check for 65.00, she said "Don't come back". Seriously, you ask me not to return. I was a regular customer. You loose my items and this is how I'm treated? read more

Solid service from super friendly people. Everytime I walk in, it's "HELLO!!!" Once some pen marks didn't come out of a shirt, I took it back, and they re-cleaned it free of charge. Another time I picked up my husband's suit in the morning, and the male owner rang our buzzer five minutes later for a swap because he realized he had given me someone else's. That could have been disastrous, but he caught his mistake and I really appreciated that. Crisis averted! See, Mom, sometimes not having cash and writing a check can be the better option. The biggest challenge I gave them was a comforter that my cat had peed on. I was gone for a week, and I think he was angry at me. It was pretty bad, but they got the whole thing back to white and cat pee smell free. And they didn't charge extra- just standard comforter cleaning cost, although I would have totally paid an upcharge for the unpleasantness of dealing with that. On the whole, it's quality service with quick turnaround. The owners almost have my name committed to memory- they know it starts with M. Makes me smile every time. read more

My former roommate had a cat who was an angry pee-er. One day, I shut this cat out of my room because she was annoying me while trying to relax, and she peed on my favorite coat which was sitting on the arm of the couch. I washed it myself. Took it to two different dry cleaners (one of whom cleaned it twice) and no one could get the smell of ammonia out. I put it in a garment bag, shoved it in the back of my closet and gave up. (It took all of my self control to not throw the damn cat out the window.) As I was unpacking in my new cat-free apartment, I decided it was stupid to keep it and was going to throw it out, but something (most likely my stubbornness) made me want to give it one more shot. So, I took it to Swan Cleaners. The owners were very nice and laughed at my cat story. They said it would be tough, but they would try. Four days and $19 later, my coat was good as new. Needless to say, Swan Cleaners is my savior. The only downside was that four days seemed a little long, but I'm definitely not complaining. read more

This is a really good dry cleaner. They always do theri work quickly and they are quick to give a discount to repeat customers. While I klive in the neighborhood, I do have a lot of choices but Swan is really a gooddry cleaner. Swan also fits/hemns clothing very well and the owner has frequently walked my clothes home with me when the amount is extremely heavy. read more

Great cleaners. I have been going there for 10 years. They have always done a wonderful job with my silk blouses/dresses, as well as my husband's all-cotton shirts and wool suits. Everything comes out perfectly. Lovely people too. They just moved to a new location at 4200 North Clark Street where they have free street parking. Do NOT go to this place! I have never felt so strongly about writing a negative review before. I took in my dress to get dry-cleaned and when I received it, all of the beading on the front of the dress was missing. The owners did not apologize at all, nor did they refund me for the dress or the dry cleaning. I even brought in the same dress in another color to show them what it looked like - and they still denied ruining my dress. I had to have spent over an hour there arguing with them. They were completely unprofessional. With so many dry cleaners in the area - it is definitely not worth the risk taking your clothes to Swan Cleaners. read more

This place is awful. My husband and I just moved in down the block and had too much going on, so we decided to be lazy and drop off our laundry. The woman said it was $1.40 per pound. She didn't take my name or phone number or any information, which should have been a red flag. The next day I picked up our laundry and it was $26-for one load! When I inquired about why it was so expensive, she said we were charged an extra $5 because she spent "an hour" cleaning lint off of our sheets. As for the rest of the fees, she claimed our laundry was 14lbs. While I admit that we didn't weigh it, there is NO WAY it was 14lbs. When I argued the $5 charge further (we were never told there may be additional fees), she claimed I was lucky, because she charges most customers $10 extra for "so much lint". I have only been going here for 8 months but I am more than happy. I found there were a lot of limitations at previous dry cleaners, but Swan Cleaners has fulfilled all my needs (can clean/alter any garment). They are so nice every time I come in and always have my things ready when I need them. They are also extremely inexpensive! read more

This place SUCKS!!....they lost my $85 shirt from Nordstrom and tried to tell me I never brought it in....plus the fact that they speak very poor English it was difficult to communicate that they never gave me my shirt back when I picked up my dry-cleaning. They are the worst!!....NEVER going back there and I urge others not to as well unless you want your clothes to mysteriously vanish. read more
