I saw all these negative reviews and wanted to make it right!! My dog peed on my down Comforter! Had to clean it! Didn't want to spend dry cleaning prices. Mag was the bat so helpful. Went to Rocks two doors down and enjoyed it while my Laundry was washing. Clean and friendly! Recommend!! read more

The attendant is so unpleasant and the machines take quarters and you can't cha he a $20 bill ...but the ATM only dispenses $20 bills save your time. read more

Attendant lady is a piece of work. Overall, I would certainly not recommend this place. Prices are steep and in short: avoid this place at all costs. read more

It's really clean, not crowded. Best thing about this place was the girl who was working when I was there. She was very nice. So helpful & great attitude. Very professional . She was very informed on the machines read more

RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL If I could give less than 1 star, I would. This place is a joke and you're better off driving anywhere else in the area to do your laundry. Please don't be fooled by the premise that they close at 10pm, unless you'd like the light turned off at 9:05 just as your laundry finishes in the wash. You will be asked to leave and remove your items from the dryer, forced to carry home one sopping wet bag and one half dry. When I requested a refund for the remaining time left on my dryer, I was refused. Will never waste my time nor money here again. To the lady running this place, business is NOT your strong suit and neither are people. read more

I do not recommend this laundry mat. It was dirty and had a bad smell. It's coin only (which is wild in 2022), and when you stick bills in the change machine, it does not provide exact change. I put in two (2) $10 bills. Each time, I received 39 quarters (instead of 40). More than half of the machines are broken. This is hard because there aren't a lot of washers to begin with. So my laundry was spread across rows as I had to grab random available machines. All in all, I was happy to be done and get out of there. read more

My first mistake was not listening to the other reviewers before coming to this place for 'convenience The employee watched me spend $4.50 a load to wash 6 cushions individually for $4.50 each. She even gave me change two times for these pillows I was in no way able to hide. After making three trips to this place with pillows blankets and clothes, she waits until in 19 loads and nearly $100 later, while taking them to the dryer that they do not allow pillows to be washed or dried here. I will never be back again since she couldn't make an acceptation since the signs are no where near the washers or in eyesight and she watched me waste my money to have my wet cushions sit for hours while the rest of the loads are washed and dried It would be one thing if the employee didn't watch me the entire time and know exactly what a stinking pillow looks like. But no problem for her that I have to now go two miles on foot to find another laundromat AFTER the remaining clothes are washed and dried read more

Horrible experience would not recommend, very unprofessional, extremely passive aggressive

Here's the thing, this place is busy and with only one employee who actually takes care of the place, the work load can be a lot to maintain while on top of providing quality cleaning services for drop off laundry. Maggie is thee best employee hands down, she's friendly and polite and will go out of her way to help you out, the younger female employee who I still don't know her name after 3 years of coming here, will do a piss poor job, act extremely passive aggressive and last time I requested she wait till Maggie came back for her to do my drop off service she proceeded to do it anyways and throw the whole bag (with clothes inside of bag) into the washer and dryer ruining my bag and other items from the bag melting into the bag as it had a plastic side pocket. Honestly Maggie is the heart of this place and deserves such recognition for serving her community and being such a kind familiar face. She sanitizes the washers and dryers, she sanitizes the folding tables she's such a hard worker and I look forward to seeing her when I go there. 5 stars for Maggie 1 star for whoever else. read more

As I was loading a washer, a worker approached me and told me she needed the last larger washer now and I was to unload my items. Clearly I was using the system first and she took my items out and loaded the washer. Will never return. Employee continued to curse throughout the entire process. Terrible service. read more

I have a very big and heavy blanket that doesn't fit into normal washers so I decided to com here to get it washed and dried. I was a little scared reading a lot of the reviews but I never had any issues. The employees as well as the people getting their laundry done were super nice. I needed to get change from the change machine and it only gave me three quarters for a dollar so I had to ask an employee for an extra quarter and they gave it to me without any questions. Cheaper than going to a dry cleaning place which would charge me probably $20 to get this blanket washed so I will definitely be coming back here. read more

Coachlight - Laundromat Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

This laundromat is well kept and very clean. I've used the machines, but I mainly now use the laundry drop off service. For $1/lb, they will launder your clothes and fold them. I've had same day service if they can accommodate it and they are always friendly and respectful of your clothing. read more

I went in to exchange quarters in their quarter machine, and the employee told me I wasn't allowed to exchange for quarters.

Maybe not the most modern laundromat but, staff is nice and responsive. Generally not crowded during the day though noticed a Friday was busier. Decent prices for the location. Home W/D busted so, glad this is available via a 10 min walk. Good place to wash my oversized quilt year round. read more

Perfectly normal laundromat! Quiet, clean. Could use a couple more extra large washers for comforters and whatnot but that's my only comment. read more

I normally don't go to laundromats, but I was forced to because I needed quarters and there's a shortage, apparently. I called ahead to make sure that I would be able to exchange my cash for quarters-- one of the employees quickly answered my call and confirmed that they had quarters. When I got there, I was able to easily exchange my cash. They also had detergent for $1/load. The wash was $4 and the dryer was $0.25 for each ten minutes. Everything worked and the staff was very helpful. read more

First off I haven't been to a laundromat in a number of years but I had to wash some of my larger bedding so I headed off to Coachlight. This small laundromat was just like the ones that I remember from my childhood with rows of washers and dryers that seem to hold up the wall, a limited amount of seating, and a TV that was showing the local news. The price was great I used the medium sized washers and they were $2.00 and did their job. The dryers were 25 cents for ten minutes and they had hot air going inside of them. The place was clean and there was even a soup center where you could buy soap for a single load (I think that's a classic sign of a good laundromat). read more

Definitely the cleanest and most efficient laundromat I've ever been to! I opt to bring my laundry here instead of using my building's machines because I'm able to take care of everything at once due to their abundance of washers and dryers. Maggie, the sweet woman who works here is fantastic!! She keeps the place spotless and is always very friendly. On a recent trip, I realized I was $1 short on my last load and she was kind enough to lend me the quarters so I could begin washing. Nothing but positive experiences here! read more

For me it's a pretty rare occasion to drop my things for washing, yet as my washing machine got broken, I had to go. The service is good, you can ask for help and someone will assist you. Just the waiting time appeared to be longer than I expected. Still it is a solution in emergency time read more

This is the only laundromat for a few blocks. So if you live in the area you pretty much have to go here. Unless you are a millionaire who has his or her own laundry set. And probably wears satin underwear. The way I like to do it is I get a couple "tall kitchen" hefty bags and fill them up with laundry and then head out down the block. Unfortunately the bags are kinda see thru so you can take a look at my stuff as I walk down the street if you want. But it's none of your business so if you do that's really your problem. I can carry both bags with one hand over one shoulder. Most people can't do that. I've been working out a little and I've been noticing the difference. When I walk down the block with those two bags both over one shoulder I'm pretty sure I can feel people checking me out a little. But I carry myself with a quiet professionalism. I'm alot of things but I'm not a show-off. Anyway, there are two kinds of laundry machines here. One kind is where you lift the lid and put the laundry inside straight from the top. The other kind is a new invention where you put the laundry in from the side. This is harder to do because you have to bend over alot. But it's supposed to be worth it because the laundry spins sideways which is better for cleaning somehow. Personally, I'm not convinced about the sideways machines yet and have stuck with the top loaders. Plus I don't like bending down over and over. It's not worth all that, even if it will make my socks sparkle a little bit more. I've chit chatted with the owner a few times. He seems like a decent dude whose weathered the many ups and downs of the laundry game in Lakeview over the years. It's not easy running a laundry joint for a bunch of 20 and 30 somethings. And dealing with all those quarters. You see, the IRS looks at your energy expenditure and then extrapolates the washes purchased by customers. So the dollars in the dollar changer need to correspond to the washes done and the energy expenditures. But sometimes people bring in their own quarters which throws everything off. Then you get audited for no god damn good reason. Ugh...that sucks. Personally I don't care if the owner is siphoning off quarters to fund a losing 1/2 no limit holdem habit. Or else has a wife who can't get enough of designer perfumes that cost way too much, even though she's over 50 and it's not making a huge difference. Mostly, I'm here for the laundry. Which I do at this place because it's close. And hope nobody is checking out the underwear I'm washing which would be a rude thing to do. read more

I'll admit it! I keep myself too busy eating and computerring that I don't have time to do my own laundry. So I drop my laundry off to be done here, to the most down to earth people! George, the owner will tell you all about his recent crazy motorcycle accident that had him fly in the air, while barely having a scratch. The woman who does all of the laundering is the sweetest woman. Best part - Laundry is .70 a pound, which means, 5 to 6 loads for under 15 bucks! I think i'd really spend more washing the clothes myself! She can have it ready for you when you want and will help you with a smile. Without this place, i'd probably be running around in my birthday suit (we don't want that) read more

Great drop off wash and fold service. It's a little weird your first time there because they aren't super excited about the customer service aspect, so if you're like me, you stand at the front waiting for someone to offer to help you with no success. (The employees are stationed in a weird little room toward the back and rarely leave.) That said, once you get their attention, they are very friendly. The service is speedy, reasonably priced, and my clothes come back clean and in good shape. I think the pet hair issue some people have noted has been resolved. My only complaint is that I wish they would use more softener. I hate stiff pj pants and towels. read more

Very clean and they just upgraded a bunch of their washers. I like getting all my laundry done at once so i usually just bring a book or some knitting and wait. The owners usually stop by and say hello and are very friendly. A couple times they have let me start a dryer past the "final time" when I asked nicely. They are good people. Be warned - the guy that runs the place will NOT let you take quarters if you aren't doing laundry! I have seen him run several people out of the building when they tried to stop in for change without doing laundry. But I can't say blame him! read more

Pretty much what you'd expect from a laundromat. Lots of machines and a change machine in the back. It's in a nice location so you can drop your clothes off and walk a block to Rocks while you wait. The washing machines are a tad bit expensive at $4 per load, while the dryers are $.25 per 10 minutes. read more

When I lived in NYC a friend told me about Wash & Fold, but I don't think I believed him... Super happy I found Coachlight Cleaners on Yelp! The current price of the Wash & Fold service is $0.90 per pound. This is the cheapest I have found in Lakeview and the surrounding areas. They will take any special requests you have if you ask nicely (bleach, soak, low heat dry, etc.) I have sent my vintage, colors, whites, jeans and towels all on one trip and each came back so fresh and so clean (clean.) I haven't used the actual laundromat, so I can't comment on the service of the machines first hand. The place is usually clean and not too busy when I stop in to pick up my laundry. I highly recommend their Wash & Fold service. I have run into no problems and until I do, I will stay at Coachlight. read more

I hate--Hate--HATE doing my laundry. Like you wouldn't even believe. So imagine my delight at the 70c/lb drop off service at my local joint. Cute (in an awwww kind of way, not in an Ooh! kind of way) attendants, quick service, and they fold your t-shirts up into these tiny 6x6 squares. I deleted one star, because I don't know if it's a good place to actually DO your laundry. Oh, and also because every time I try to spell my name (Rachel), the little man gets stuck on the c, and thinks my name starts with R-A-T. read more

A pretty good place to do your laundry and/or people watch. It's $1 for a one load machine, $1.50 for a two and $2.00 for a big three load washer. The place isn't that big, but it's clean, fast and efficient. read more

Same situation as another reviewer. They don't want you to use their dryers if you don't use their washers. As of 11/13/15 the standard washing machines require $4.00 to operate which seems a bit high. read more

Their laundry drop-off service is great. Friendly, fast, and very reasonable considering the time and energy I save by not running around my building (I have to go outside and then back in the basement door) to do laundry. The only minor issue is that a few articles came back with a couple pieces of dog hair from what I assume was someone else's laundry bag - love animals well enough, however, just a "pet peeve" of mine. *Cash only, no credit/debit.* read more

This place is great! I called ahead of time on a Saturday morning (7:30am) to see if I could drop things off this morning and get them back today. I was told if I could have it in before 9 I could get it by 1pm. They weren't kidding! Great service! Fabulous folding! And $1 a pound. Not bad if you ask me! I'll definitely be going back. read more

Great drop off service. It's $1/pound and everything comes back neatly folded. I've used this place a handful of times and have never had anything lost or misplaced. Make sure to go to the back of the building to get the attention of the people working, otherwise they will look at you like you are there to do laundry yourself. VERY friendly and prompt. Will continue to use this service. The one draw back is I wouldn't take my handwash or delicates in to have washed. read more

If you are living in a cockroach infested apartment building and fear whatever is lurking in the laundry room of your building, try a drop-off service. This place has a wash and fold that costs about $1 per pound and their turnaround time is great. Friendly staff. Clean facilities. Give them a try! read more

I love this laundromat. Its such a nice and inviting place. While there isn't a TON of room, the people are in and out. The price can't be beat (I always use the $1.50 machines). Its nice. I'm actually considering dropping my clothes off there tonight to have laundered for me after reading the reviews about the people who do the laundering. For $.70 a pound it isn't bad. I hurt my shoulder recently and don't really want to spend the time using my arms unnecessarily to fold and whatnot. I'll post if there's a disaster ;-) read more

Very nice and friendly. Great place to come and wash and it won't break your pocket. You have to pay for washer and dryer. I think for three loads and two dryers, we paid $15. It's clean and not sketchy. read more

This place is awesome! The people are so nice and honest. I hate being over promised for something, instead of just being told the truth. Ex: this place offers same day wash and fold service. However if you come in the afternoon- they'll kindly tell you that it won't be ready til the next day. Fine by me as long as I know! For $.90/lb, you can have your laundry washed, dried and folded. Being a busy person- this place has saved me $ and countless valuable hours at a laundromat. read more

Dryer in my building wasn't working but read reviews that this place doesn't want you to just use the dryers so just took it all for wash & dry. Was some strange liquid in top of one of the washers where the softener goes. Checked after my wash and it was still there so I had no problem with whatever it was getting into my machine! Definitely a little pricey for the wash ($4 for regular machine, $3.25 for "express") but was able to put both washes into one dryer for $1.25 ($25. per 10 min) which evened out the price a bit. Totaled about $8 for 2 loads, not terrible. Lady working there was wiping down machines and emptying lint traps when I was there, makes me think they maintain the place pretty well. It was a little busy when I went on a Saturday afternoon but many machines, no worries about waiting for machines to open up. Would return! read more
