I've been washing clothes etc here for over 7 years now as teh 3 laundromats near my home have all closed. Its big and clean and the staff are attentive and friendly. Overall its safe although there are times some of the locals cause some riff raff. Located in a nice little plaza close enough to several places to get a bite to eat. There are a lot of washers and dryers (free for customers) vending machines for snacks and beverage sand even a coffee machine. Weekends can be crowded. Easy walk to the Wilson Red Line CTA. 5 stars for being very clean and a wonderful staff. read more

Really disappointing experience. The machines are unreliable and I ended up wasting money on one that barely worked. The place is not well maintained and feels dirty overall. Customer service was also poor. The staff were unhelpful and didn't seem to care about the issues. I won't be returning. read more

Lots of newer machines. Parking is kind of hard to find during the day $3 for a 20lbs up to $10 for 80lbs Staff always present and place is wiped clean regularly. They will also do laundry for you for a nominal fee and turn around time is great! read more

I came to Wash U Coin Laundry to clean all of my towels, blankets, comforters, and linens because the machines in my building are too small for this massive bunch. I arrive around 11am and there were only a few others there which meant parking was easy. There are many machines that carry anywhere between 20 to 80 pounds of laundry, each ranging in price. If you use the washing machines then the dryers are free. Just keep in mind the free dryers run at 10 minute intervals. You can change the heat levels. The space is really clean and well cared for. I meant to write this review because a gentleman working there, presumably the owner, was kind enough to help me fold my giant sheets. I am clearly not good at playing off my struggles. read more

I really enjoy this laundromat. It's a very clean location, and I've rarely seen a washer or dryer that was 'out of order'. Every time I go, there is someone who is sweeping or wiping down counters. One detail that I love is by the coin machine, they have a rainbow color of detergent caps for you to use for quarters. I recently did a drop off service for my laundry and it was fantastic. I went early and was told I could pick it up later in the evening. I completely forgot that I had a comforter in there (I'm sorry staff!) and everything was folded so great that it took me all of 10min tonight to put everything away. This is an amazing laundromat. Very clean. Well run, well lit, and well ventilated! They have machines of all different sizes, all fairly new. The driers are powerful. Drying is free but only lasts 10 minutes so you do need to stick around during drying to give it another cycle or two. Haven't had any problems here. read more

I've been coming here since I moved back to this area. I have a washer and dryer in my building, but I prefer to be able to do huge laundry loads all at once to save time. Wash U is a very well kept laundromat. It is always clean and bright inside and I've never had any problems with the washers or dryers. I think the price is reasonable for the time saved with using the larger washers. And if you wash there, the dryers are free: usually takes me about 3 10-min cycles and 4 dryers to get everything completely dry. There is a decent amount of seating and televisions to watch while you wait for your clothes to finish. There is also a change machine, which comes in handy if you walk in with a 20 and nothing else. If you forget detergent you can buy packets here as well. I've never had any problems finding a washer or enough dryers to use. It's never been overcrowded on the days that I've gone. I feel comfortable doing my laundry here and will continue to do so! read more

In a small strip mall on the southwest corner of Magnolia and Wilson. Very clean with free wifi. Lots of large and extra large washers. Not cheap, but reasonably priced. Free 10 minute dryers. Dryers took a looong time to dry and must be restarted every 10 minutes. Vending machines with reasonably priced drinks and snacks. read more

Wash U is great because they have a large selection of washing machines, and no matter how busy it is, there always seems to be *some* open. Drying is free if you've washed there. Stopped in around 7am on a Friday morning and the place was hopping. It wasn't packed but folks were already on their dry cycle. So being part of the early was party is my thing so I really enjoyed having my pick of washers and dryers for my load. What I love most about this place is the variety of load size washers. Cost me $6.00 to wash my clothes and with a free dry.. I was 100% happy. It's clean, workers said hello and my clothes are clean. What more could I ask for. I tried to get on the WIFI but was too lazy to ask for the password. Next time I'll ask. No complaints here and I appreciate the early morning opening time for ppl like me who just want to get in and get out. I will definitely continue to wash her Back again today. This is the best laundry in the Uptown/Ravenswood area, by far. All the machines work, everything is very clean. The staff is always there and working hard. They have machines of all sizes, even the super big ones, and there's never a wait, even when the place is packed. Best of all--dryers are free!! I have to drive here or walk about a mile each way but it's totally worth it. I can be in and out in under an hour, and usually don't spend more than $5 on all my laundry. The parking lot is cramped so I usually park on the street nearby, not a problem. read more
