I've been washing clothes etc here for over 7 years now as teh 3 laundromats near my home have all closed. Its big and clean and the staff are attentive and friendly. Overall its safe although there are times some of the locals cause some riff raff. Located in a nice little plaza close enough to several places to get a bite to eat. There are a lot of washers and dryers (free for customers) vending machines for snacks and beverage sand even a coffee machine. Weekends can be crowded. Easy walk to the Wilson Red Line CTA. 5 stars for being very clean and a wonderful staff. read more

As others have mentioned, it's clean, affordable, has friendly staff and plenty of seating. I only wish the parking lot wasn't so cramped, but that's out of their control. read more

Really disappointing experience. The machines are unreliable and I ended up wasting money on one that barely worked. The place is not well maintained and feels dirty overall. Customer service was also poor. The staff were unhelpful and didn't seem to care about the issues. I won't be returning. read more

This is an extremely clean and friendly environment for doing your laundry. Great snack machines also very clean machines.

Friendly staff, everything works and the place is clean. I go every time I have to do laundry

Ever since I moved to Chicago I haven't used any other Laundromat and it's been a year and a half. I also moved 25 min from the area but still drive my big ol laundry bags from Pilsen to Uptown that's how consistently nice and well taken care of this place is. read more

Lots of newer machines. Parking is kind of hard to find during the day $3 for a 20lbs up to $10 for 80lbs Staff always present and place is wiped clean regularly. They will also do laundry for you for a nominal fee and turn around time is great! read more

This laundromat is located in such a peaceful neighborhood. The facility is always kept clean and organized at all times each time I was there. The staff or owner was very nice to their customers. They offer free dryers if we wash there which is very nice. Their washers and dryers are considerably new and well-maintained. read more

Wash U Coin Laundry - Laundromat Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

I came to Wash U Coin Laundry to clean all of my towels, blankets, comforters, and linens because the machines in my building are too small for this massive bunch. I arrive around 11am and there were only a few others there which meant parking was easy. There are many machines that carry anywhere between 20 to 80 pounds of laundry, each ranging in price. If you use the washing machines then the dryers are free. Just keep in mind the free dryers run at 10 minute intervals. You can change the heat levels. The space is really clean and well cared for. I meant to write this review because a gentleman working there, presumably the owner, was kind enough to help me fold my giant sheets. I am clearly not good at playing off my struggles. read more

The least annoying laundromat I have ever been to, but the parking lot can be downright awful with traffic

This laundromat has many washers and dryers! They come in all sizes and plenty. The place is kept very clean, sanitized and I love how organized all the signs are. Nothing is confusing. The staff has been very helpful and the machines are very clean and pretty new looking! I will be back! read more

Wash U Coin Laundry - Laundromat Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Just close to where I stay. It's clean l. It's old fashion. Bring your coin bag. You'll have to change your bills for coins.

I really enjoy this laundromat. It's a very clean location, and I've rarely seen a washer or dryer that was 'out of order'. Every time I go, there is someone who is sweeping or wiping down counters. One detail that I love is by the coin machine, they have a rainbow color of detergent caps for you to use for quarters. I recently did a drop off service for my laundry and it was fantastic. I went early and was told I could pick it up later in the evening. I completely forgot that I had a comforter in there (I'm sorry staff!) and everything was folded so great that it took me all of 10min tonight to put everything away. I highly recommend this laundromat. read more

This is an amazing laundromat. Very clean. Well run, well lit, and well ventilated! They have machines of all different sizes, all fairly new. The driers are powerful. Drying is free but only lasts 10 minutes so you do need to stick around during drying to give it another cycle or two. Haven't had any problems here. read more

This place is neatly and very well run. Affordable washing machines, with various sizes for all your needs. Free drying machines. I live in Lake View East but I'm willing to make the short drive to this laundromat because it's a high quality establishment. Props and respect to the owner and staff. read more

current prices as of 10/4/2023 $3.75 for 20 lbs $5.50 for 30lbs $8.50 for 60 lbs and $11.00 for 80lbs. Bring extra change because the mechanics can be picky and refuse some quarters. Dryers are free with wash. last load start is at 8:00pm read more

If there were a laundromat in heaven, then we humans have a weird God who would make spirit people living in a flawless afterlife still do their own laundry in a shared public place. But really, if their were a laundromat in heaven, this would be it. It checks all the boxes. + Free Parking! + Well Lit! + Clean! + Clear, helpful signage! + HD Televisions showing something other than telenovelas! (No disrespect to telenovelas. My abuelita considers them appointment television.) + Clean Machines! + Free Dryers! + Real Plants! When the apocalypse comes and Chicago descends into chaos, I'm coming here, because based on how they operate this place, I'm unshakably confident that these people will have their sh*t together and have devised some sort of practicable survival plan! read more

I've been coming here since I moved back to this area. I have a washer and dryer in my building, but I prefer to be able to do huge laundry loads all at once to save time. Wash U is a very well kept laundromat. It is always clean and bright inside and I've never had any problems with the washers or dryers. I think the price is reasonable for the time saved with using the larger washers. And if you wash there, the dryers are free: usually takes me about 3 10-min cycles and 4 dryers to get everything completely dry. There is a decent amount of seating and televisions to watch while you wait for your clothes to finish. There is also a change machine, which comes in handy if you walk in with a 20 and nothing else. If you forget detergent you can buy packets here as well. I've never had any problems finding a washer or enough dryers to use. It's never been overcrowded on the days that I've gone. I feel comfortable doing my laundry here and will continue to do so! read more

This place is great! Tons of different size washers, plenty of dryers, and drying is free when you wash here. Super clean, not crowded, and really nice staff. I had to use this place when my apartment washer broke and honestly I'd consider using it all the time if I had a car. Definitely give this place a shot! read more

In a small strip mall on the southwest corner of Magnolia and Wilson. Very clean with free wifi. Lots of large and extra large washers. Not cheap, but reasonably priced. Free 10 minute dryers. Dryers took a looong time to dry and must be restarted every 10 minutes. Vending machines with reasonably priced drinks and snacks. read more

Update: During COVID this location is just as clean, friendly, and convenient. Highly recommended!

Cleanest laundromat I ever went to. Got in quick, washed and dried my clothes quick, got out quick. No hassle. Good job.

One of the cleanest and most spacious laundromats I've been to. Good prices on a variety of machine sizes all the way up to 80 lb loads. Free dryers too and a good amount of parking. read more

I come to Wash U whenever I need to do a massive load of laundry at once or when I need to wash my bedsheets. Wash U is great because they have a large selection of washing machines, and no matter how busy it is, there always seems to be *some* open. Drying is free if you've washed there. The location is clean and employees are really friendly and kind. I live closer to a different laundromat, but I always drive over to Wash U because I know I'll have a better experience. read more

Stopped in around 7am on a Friday morning and the place was hopping. It wasn't packed but folks were already on their dry cycle. So being part of the early was party is my thing so I really enjoyed having my pick of washers and dryers for my load. What I love most about this place is the variety of load size washers. Cost me $6.00 to wash my clothes and with a free dry.. I was 100% happy. It's clean, workers said hello and my clothes are clean. What more could I ask for. I tried to get on the WIFI but was too lazy to ask for the password. Next time I'll ask. No complaints here and I appreciate the early morning opening time for ppl like me who just want to get in and get out. I will definitely continue to wash her Back again today. WiFi info was printed on the window. Still riding the early morning train. This morning a woman was cleaning the washers with a toothbrush. A woman after my own heart. This is my new wash home. read more

This place is clean! Drier is free; this is excellent. You can minimize your time of your laundry!

The laundry machines at our apartment broke down... super frustrating. Searched google for laundromats, and this place not only had great reviews, but is open till 11pm on Sundays! It exceeded expectations. FREE DRYING. Tons of different sized washers. I know I'm just reiterating what others have said, but it really is the nicest, cleanest laundromat I've ever been to. Will be back! read more

Enjoyed doing my laundry here. Good washers and dryers. The women who work there are very friendly. Only con would be that it gets super hot in there, definitely was sweating up a storm and had to go outside for a breather. Other than that, the place is great! read more

This is the best laundry in the Uptown/Ravenswood area, by far. All the machines work, everything is very clean. The staff is always there and working hard. They have machines of all sizes, even the super big ones, and there's never a wait, even when the place is packed. Best of all--dryers are free!! I have to drive here or walk about a mile each way but it's totally worth it. I can be in and out in under an hour, and usually don't spend more than $5 on all my laundry. The parking lot is cramped so I usually park on the street nearby, not a problem. read more

Clean and a lot of washer sizes for every load. Helpful staff, dryers take a little long but no extra cost.

This is the best coin laundry ever! The machines are new and very clean -- different sized washers for whatever load you have. And the drying is free! I highly recommend Wash U for your laundry needs! read more

This is the cleanest laundry place I've ever been in. The employees were very present keeping things tidy and the machines in order, and it's very spacious as well. I got 5 loads of laundry done in 90 minutes, which would've taken all day in my building's coin laundry. read more
