Filthy bathrooms, rude little acne faced girl working there Just sits on her phone most of the time and acts like a timer so when you ask her something. The dryers are so hot they burn your clothes and half the machines are out of service. I usually do drop off wash & fold service at laundromats but every now and then I need to go balls to the wall and wash every single thing in my home. This is when I go to a laundry and get couple of big ol' washers and kill a couple hours of my time. I strongly disliked the last spot I tried so after Yelping, ended up at Mr. Bubble. So it goes with laundromats, the earlier you go, the less people are there. So you'll catch me there at 6am on a weekend. Even going early like that, you encounter some of the most interesting characters there...and some of the most inconsiderate people. All up in your space! I don't like people staring as I take my thongs & bras from the washer to the dryer. I don't love people standing in front of my dryer so I can't get my stuff when a million others are open. One dude yelled F@$# when he paid for some detergent and it didn't come out, then continued with a long line of explicits. It ain't that serious, man. Anyways, you can't control the other clientele and it does make for semi-fun people watching. The guy working was very nice. Helped me get some detergent and when I was leaving, he noticed and came over to open both doors for me. Super sweet! Human beings aside, this laundry is A-OK. It has a good amount of parking which is excellent. Long hours which is also good. At least one machine in each row is out of service, not sure if that's the norm or not at laundries. The vending machines are pretty comical with a 70s creepy clown one filled with toys, there is a very old-school, basic Tekken video game you can play for 50 cents, old school gumball machine, a couple of old (or let's fancy it up by calling them vintage) toy machines including a huge one that is completely empty :(, then finally a normal vending machine with $1 candy. There is also the laundry detergent machine which if you ask dude mentioned above, doesn't quite work. I got overpriced but fair for forgetting mine at home detergent from their counter $5 for the cheap brand Extra which I have a bottle I got at home for 99 cents from CVS. They do also sell Tide (no pods for you messed up people). I honestly haven't been to enough laundries (I think 3x in my life) to know what is a good price for washing and drying but I paid $5.25 for the large washer to go through a 25 minute cycle. The regular sized washers were $3. Drying was 25 cents for 15 minutes and I filled two dryers, running them for 60 minutes ($1 each #mathgenius) and everything was completely dry! That made me happy. Overall I liked this place, it's much better than the last place I tried, but I still don't think I've found my ideal spot just yet. read more

Cleans clothes decent however it takes $1 to dry clothes. It shouldn't take more than .50. Also the floors and entryway are dirty. I don't feel comfortable washing my clothes in a laundry mat that can't even mop the floors and keep machines clean. read more

I decided to come here because it's one bus there and one bus back and there are more positive reviews. I don't worry about people who show up at last call then argue with management about closing time. I am an adult who has washed clothes since I was seven. So first time here I had a ton of clothes because I am waiting for our landlord to fix our machines. Ha ha! Anyway I came nice and early with the other hand core, no nonsense laundry doers. I love the selection of machines. I used a $3 for little things so they don't get stuck in the fitted sheet corners. I used the $4.25 one for jeans and big things. The cost was less than ten bucks. I've both done my Laundry here myself and have done drop off. Drop off pricing is super reasonable and my clothes are always super fresh and folded perfect. They have even gotten out a few super set in stains. They always have my clothes ready the next day and sometimes even same day! As for doing your own wash, it's what you'd expect. Lots of different load sizes for washers and lots of machines. Would definitely recommend (especially drop off)! read more

I had occasion to drop off a ton of linens. Everything came back crisply folded and very clean. Four hours and it was ready to pick up. Second time I dropped off 43 pounds of towels and they were ready by the end of the same day. Pleasant staff, clean laundry building, maybe a tad obnoxious with little kids there sometimes, but, ‍. The laundry mat is clean and the staff is usually friendly. On the weekends there is a guy who brings in bootleg DVDs and Blu-ray discs. Then there is another guy who brings in CDs for music bootlegged as well. Then sometimes there is a guy who will come in with socks and belts to sell and lastly a lady who brings in her baked goods for sale. Such fun. read more

I came here after having to wash a big comforter that my cat decided was nice to mark her territory on. They closed at 1030pm that Monday night and last wash is at 9pm but she was nice enough to let me wash at 915pm. I didn't need to dry it so thankfully she was fine with it. They have 3 different size washers ranging from $3 to $5.25 so I'm not sure how it compares to the other locations nearby. It was clean and there were a lot of dryers and the lady who works here told me it doesn't really get crowded. Glad I found one close to me that I can easily drop in for those big washes. read more

So I came here to do my clothes because my laundry machine and my dryer was out. So I came here while I was waiting for my replacement to get delivered to my house and I really like this place. The lady that was cleaning I have to say was doing quite the thorough job of everything. I wish I could own one of these 80 pound washing machines in my house but it made things a lot easier when I threw everything in it and probably cut my time down quite a bit. The same with the dryers. But you need to have change because there is no ATM in here. The 7-Eleven across the street does have an ATM. The parking lot is small and it is shared with a little mexican restaurant, but it wasn't full when I went there. I now have a washer and dryer at home but if I ever need to go back there I would and it's a bit of a drive from my house and I would go there if the other place that's close to me is closed so it would be a good backup place. read more

This location used to be good. There is no management present. There are signs everywhere to not sit on the tables. Kids were sitting on the tables and eating. No one wanted to step up and tell these people to control their kids from doing wrong!! read more

Update, so instead of doing laundry on the weekends I came in today, Monday. What the manager posted is incorrect with the dryer cost. Normally it's .25 for 15 mins, now the dryer cost is .25 for 10 mins time. Incase he is reading this, he should update his post on the description of this store. So No One Is Misled. I'm using dryer number 55 by the way. So it cost me .75 for 30 mins time. It was a matter of time when costs were going to go up. Time to look for another facility that had free dying. So sad!! At least post a notice that the dry time to dry their clothes is less. read more

It is a good place never too full, parking available and the table to fold are comfortable to work on, ive been going there since I arrived to Chicago, it was a little. MOre expensive than others but I thought it was worth it, I went this weekend again and prices went up, $3 for the smallest machine the dryers almost half of them where out of service, I was truly disappointed!!! read more

Mr. Bubble has freed me from the tedium of doing laundry. How? Every couple of weeks I drop my dirty clothes off, and for a mere 75 cents a pound, they are lovingly washed, dried, and placed on hangers or folded. (They do a better job than I do, that's for sure...... normally I leave my clean clothes balled up in the hamper.) While you may consider this sheer laziness on my part, I realized that it's actually more economical to have someone else do my laundry, especially when you realize that time really does equal money. (3 weeks of my and my boyfriend's laundry usually costs around $50 if we drop it off, which we consider to be a bargain.) Now, instead of wasting hours of my precious free time doing a chore that I loathe (or purchasing things like detergent and fabric softener), I'm able to do fun stuff. Like take a nap. Or watch a 'Rock of Love' marathon on VH1. Or whatever. The owners are friendly and super helpful, and there's always someone around if you need help. Plus it's open 24 hours, and has myriad televisions and vending machines! What more could you possibly ask for? I sincerely recommend this place. As a lazy guy who lives in a laundry-less building, I have experienced many laundry mats in Chicago. The first couple of years I did it myself, but then I learned about drop-off service. I have been using Mr Bubble for some time now, and now I am getting a place with in-unit laundry, I felt I needed to say thank you, by writing a review. What do you need in a drop off laundry service? (1) Good price, check = 75 cents per pound (2) clean, dry clothes, check = sounds dumb, but a couple places I used to go just couldn't get it right, (3) Nice people, double check = especially once they get to know you. So what more do you want? I suppose location would be the 5th star. But other than that, its a great place with good people who get the job done. read more

Conveniently located and they have a small private parking lot, which helps when you're trucking 38 loads of laundry in during one visit. Not that I've ever done that... I've done my dirties here a few times now, and everything went just as it should. They have plenty of machines and I've only seen one washing machine out of order at one time. They have soap and coin dispensers, pretty straightforward. It's very clean for a laundromat. That's definitely a plus since I like my clothes/towels/sheets to remain clean when I put them on a folding table right after I wash and dry them. A couple complaints - once I went to dry my clothes and opened up one of the dryers and it smelled like someone stuck their sweaty feet into a puddle of month-old egg yolks. Sorry to be graphic, but it wasn't a pleasant smell. Fortunately, it was only that one dryer and I was able to load my clothes into another less-foul dryer. Also - the kids in here are outta control. They run around and freak out like it's a McDonald's play place. I just want to throw them in one of the commercial-sized washing machines. Just some notes to anyone curious about Mr. Bubble - every time I've been there now (I usually go in the late afternoons/evenings) I've been chatted up and then asked for change by an older lady using a walker. I think she's there every day. She's not mean or pushy, but it is a little annoying when you're just trying to read or work on your laptop while you're waiting. I've also been solicited by a dude selling DVDs while I was folding my clothes. Again, it didn't bother me too much. It kind of adds a little character to the joint, hah. So far this is the best damn drop off service in Chicago!!!! They will do your laundry exactly the way you want it done! 75 cents a pound ( bring your own detergent if you don't like what they have) washed -folded -and awesome! They have some old school video games and enough vending machine junk food to put anyone in a diabetic or high cholesterol explosion. But if you want to do your own laundry.. their machines are new and clean ( unlike the disgusting washing well down the street) and their dryers are sweet! service with a smile ( there is this one lady there that is kind of grumpy sometimes but once your nice to her she calms down)! I LOVE this laundromat, best in the city that I have encountered so far. I used to come here when I lived in my apartment and I didn't want to deal with the 2 tiny washers & dryers that were in constant use by other tenants in my building. My guy and I would do laundry once a week at Mr. Bubble. We got all of it done in an hour and a half and they had ample seating and vending machines. There is also a 7-11 across the street and a KFC/Taco Bell next door. I never went there but my laundry partner did! Now that I have my own washer and dryer I don't have to go to the laundromat anymore. I will be going back here to wash my king comforter when the time comes! The owner here is really sweet too! Beware that Saturday mornings are the worst, everyone comes here because it's a nice facility and it's clean. They also have a parking lot too! read more

We are new here to Chicago, and in that change of lifestyle we have never done our laundry at a coin operated facility. Emily, the owners daughter was extremely helpful at assisting us to pick out the right machine for our needs, and taught us some useful tricks to get the most out of our money. She was so friendly that she talked to us about where all the best places in town are and where to stay away from. They have TVs, bathrooms for guests, and plenty of seats. Machines run from $2 to $4.50 (5 loads) depending on how much you needed to get cleaned. The dryers are 20 mins for a quarter, and they run very hot. TRICK: Make sure you select the high heat, because the machines always default to permanent press. There is a Taco Bell next door, a 7-eleven and Chinese Restaurant across the street. Emily said to stay away from the Mexican restaurant next door unless we wanted to be sick for the entire next day. We will certainly be back for our laundry cleaning needs. This is our main laundromat. It's clean, and has friendly staff. The machines feel a bit steep, but I owned my own washer and dryer for eight years, so, of course, they're going to feel expensive. There are several TV's, and every time I've been there, they're not very busy. Plenty of semi-comfortable seating. The bathroom is permanently locked, so you have to get a key from the front desk. Wish it was kept unlocked, by they're open 24 hours, so it's probably to keep out homeless folks. They have free detergent on Wednesdays. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE! Ok when I discovered drop off laundry service here, I thought that I had died and gone to heaven. My first 4 experiences with them has been nothing short of fantastic. I bring in my 3 heavy bags of laundry and 4 hours later, I come back and I pick up my wrinkle free, very nicely folded, wonderful smelling laundry. Oh heavenly joy! I hate hate hate laundry. It can be a tad pricey-- my 3 heavy bags worth of laundry cost about $35, but that is $35 well worth the cost. I cannot say enough about the professionalism of this laundromat. read more

It equals to be about the same price to wash and dry as the machines in my apartment building. so that's a plus. I came here one sunday because I had a lot to do and I was able to do about 8 loads in an hour and a half. plus! My only complaint was that even my small loads had to be dried twice, so it ended up being a little more expensive than the machines in my place. negative. It's convenient, the parking was okay. I found a spot but about an hour later and there wouldn't have been one. I think I will continue to do loads at my place but when it builds up and I need to do sheets and towels, I will come back. I had to run across the street to go to the atm at the gas station, would be nice to have one either. But next time I will know to bring more money for quarters. I think it was $3.75 per wash and $.25 per dry. But again, I had to dry everything twice. read more

Mr. Bubble gives you a no-frills laundromat experience in a bright and clean atmosphere. There are plenty of televisions to pass the time and bench seats that grow uncomfortable just as your loads finish. The staff is very polite, the bathroom is clean and the vending machines stay stocked. If you needed another excuse to unload your precious quarters, arcade machines are there to pass the time. Getting your laundry washed and dried can be done with minor inconvenience. They have a good amount of larger washers, but only a few for single loads. There have been times where I've seen many out-of-order signs but they seem to catch up on maintenance by the time I'm back the next week. At peak times, it's tough to find an available laundry cart and multiple dryers in a row but the constant turnover means you'll get one eventually. read more

I'm sure there are more exciting things to review than a laundromat, but this one deserves it. It's clean and bright, and the employees are attentive and helpful. I always see them sweeping the floor and emptying the trash cans, and any time I've had problems with the machines they've been quick to get it figured out. I always slack on doing my laundry and end up with huge mountains of dirty clothes all piled up. I'm not sure whether it's more efficient in terms of price to do laundry at Mr. Bubble or with the coin-operated washers and dryers in my apartment building, but Mr. Bubble is definitely a time saver. Jumbo washers and dryers = WIN. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got about three weeks' worth of dirty laundry that needs to be taken care of. read more

We have been reveling in the luxury of drop-off service, since our washing machine kicked the bucket 2 summers ago. I have contemplated trying the $0.65/lb down the street, but figure u get what u pay for & $0.75/lb is a small luxury when they get the job done right the first time!!! Final verdict? Wonderful, brilliant, outstanding drop-off service! They are always friendly (recognizes us by name) or leaves us be when clearly not in the mood to chat; always helpful (offers to help me bring in our loads when I'm juggling the kids & laundry); & always timely (turn-around time, 3-5hrs, just enough time for me to pick-up on the way back from errands). Bottom line: Mr. Bubbles is a luxurious neccesity that makes me look forward to the dreaded "doing laundry". read more

Washer machines are good but the dryers suck!!!! Spent $1.50 to dry a small load of colored socks. Dried 5 loads of clothes and spent at least $1 to dry my clothes and when it was done it felt luke warm. This place sucks!!! Machines look old and so does the facility. read more

Hooray for 24 hour laundromats! (note - they are only open 24 hours Friday - Sunday, I think they close at 2 am other nights) I had about 5 weeks of laundry to do, so seeing the 8 load mega-washers was a lovely surprise. Machines, floor, and tables were all very clean, they had decent vending selection and prices, and the machines were cheaper than the other laundromats I've been to (Edgewater area). The dryers worked better too. It's a bit out of the way for me, but totally worth the drive. read more

This place isn't too bad, and it's located rather close to me so I've been using it when I need to do laundry. There aren't a lot of places to sit down inside while your clothes are tumbling. The seats they do have, however, aren't seats that make you want to sit for long. I usually load the washing machines and then sit in my car,in their parking lot, biding time until my clothes are finished. WASHERS: You'll want to make sure the hot water works in the machine you're going to use before you load it with your clothes, or feel the glass of the side loaders as it fills up with water. If you don't check, don't be surprised if all your your clothes get washed in cold water instead of warm or hot. Initially I thought this might be intentional, saving on hot water by not providing any. I haven't ruled that out yet. DRYERS: When you load the front load dryers, don't put too many clothes in them. When you do, and they fall out onto the ground, if your sitting in your car while waiting for the time to expire, despite the number of times the women working there will come outside and say hello while enjoying a smoke, when you go back inside, finding your clothes spilling onto the floor, she'll look at you like you're an idiot for not seeing it in her eyes when she was chatting you up, through the thin layer of smoke. NO EXTRA MILE: It's not their responsibility to tell someone if they're an idiot for overloading a dryer (guilty), but don't expect a courtesy, like 'oh by the way,' puff, puff, 'that dryer i saw you overload with your clothes, it spilled all of them onto the floor. You should probably take care of that'). Because that won't happen. MORE DRYER: Don't use a front load dryer if the timer light isn't brightly lit. I used one last time, where the digital timer on it was only dimly lit, and might have even been flickering slightly. (I'm assuming it's related, maybe not). The owner said he had to relight the pilot light and said the dryer would heat up shortly. It never did. The woman working there refunded me, and gave me a free condescending look to go, slapping an 'out of order' sign on it promptly after refunding me. GOODS: This place is relatively clean. Its clientele is fine, nothing too strange, no one too dangerous, and the neighborhood isn't too sketchy, at least night while the sun's still up. Just don't look strange people directly in the eyes. $$: If you use a dryer that works, its cheap. 25 cents for fifteen minutes of good heat. The washers aren't horribly priced either, $4.25 or $5.25 (I can't remember) for a medium sized side loader. RESULT: This place is alright, but after writing this review I've realized something. The next time I do my laundry, I'll be trying somewhere else. Branching out will give me a better understanding as to how this place rates, compared to the number of other laundromats in my vicinity.
