The couple who run this dry cleaning business are so friendly. When my husband walks in, they…read moregreet him with "Hello, friend!" Their prices are reasonable and the turn-around time is pretty good. I have not gotten anything altered there because I really don't like the curtain enclosure in the corner that they use as the changing room. I prefer a private room for that. But, we take all of our dry cleaning here on a regular basis.

I've been bringing my clothes here for repairs and alterations for nearly 5 years. Maribel is able…read moreto take just about anything and make it fit me perfectly. I've brought her off-the-rack men's suits and shirts and she's altered them in the arm, chest, waist, hips, thigh, everywhere to make them look like they were made custom for my feminine body. She altered my wife's wedding dress with precision and speed. It's been a joy to get to know her over the years...and to know I can indeed have clothes that fit me perfectly because of her!

I wanted to love Isel's Cleaners, I really did. Maybe the employee here is right; maybe I'm just…read moreunlucky. According to her, I am the only one with these issues. If it were a one-off, I would be more understanding, but it seems as though more times than not when I'm here, something goes wrong. Also, as an aside, perhaps it's not the best idea to tell a customer who is upset that things are constantly going wrong that he's unlucky. Let me give you a core example of what I mean. In summertime, I brought in a down jacket to be cleaned and repaired after I fell off an e-scooter. Oops. The quoted time for the jacket to be cleaned and repaired was a week. I gave them two, and the jacket wasn't done. Once again, I was quoted a time of a week. I came back in two, and the jacket still wasn't done. The response given was that, and I quote, "You don't need it." Well, you know something? Maybe I don't, but you don't know that for a fact. Maybe I'm going to Greenland or something. Don't promise something if you can't deliver it, and especially don't do so twice. There was another incident where I was almost given a shirt that wasn't mine. Thankfully, I am the kind of weirdo who more or less knows the labels on the insides of his shirts. I recognized it wasn't mine. This did recur a couple months later when the shirt I was given was definitely not mine - I could tell by its pattern and design, which again surprised her. Yes, mistakes happen, but it's weird that this happened twice. I can only imagine if I had taken someone else's shirt home by mistake, and then that person would have come back saying, "Where the heck is my shirt? Why did you give it to somebody else?" There was also an incident involving another item I gave them to be cleaned, where the company to which they outsource out did a poor job, and there was still a stain. So, the item was sent back. When I arrived, I found the shirt wasn't done, and I wasn't notified beforehand. Okay, fine. So, I came back later at the agreed-upon time, and the shirt still wasn't ready because the company to which they outsource their cleaning still hadn't done a good job. I received no notification of any kind. At this point, I said, "Enough is enough." I took my items back, I took my money back, and I took my items somewhere else. Let me close on saying this: The employee here is very kind and very sweet, and the prices here are almost unbeatable. I urge you to give them a chance assuming: 1. You are in no hurry. 2. You carefully check to make sure that the clothes you get are your own. 3. Don't give them any expensive or valuable items in case they're accidentally given to someone else.

We had a very short engagement and a big time crunch once I got the dress back from being altered. The dress looked great and they were very nice to chat with, so I brought it back after the wedding. The dress was pretty dirty from grass and mud stains and dye that transferred from my other wedding dress (a red, Sikh wedding dress). I was worried the red dye wouldn't come out of the white dress. But the dress is back to pristine condition! They seemed very knowledgable and gave a great price. They handled a treasured item with care and I would gladly come back or recommend them to anyone!

The lady who helped me (wish I knew her name!) and Jason, the owner, recommended snaps instead of buttons since the fabric (mostly nylon) was so delicate - and they were absolutely right. It turned out perfect, the price was fair, and I couldn't be happier. Whether you need expert dry cleaning or tailoring from a skilled seamstress, this is hands down the friendliest and most efficient cleaners in Chi-town!!

I brought a number of projects including a pair of pants & jeans that I didn't want the legs to be so wide. The tailor suggested doing it so that you wouldn't see it. Both turned out very well and were nicely pressed as a bonus. On one top he added fabric he had so you couldn't see through the openings around the buttons, but the button placket was sticked down and I could no longer un-button it. He said he'd see what he could do but didn't think its would be possible. On another top that I wanted let out, he added fabric to the underarm which didn't have enough of a hem to let out. When I picked up an item that I had a small hole "re-weaved", I looked and still found a hole. I asked him to re-do it and he said he would do it quickly while I waited. He said it must be a 2nd hole. He came back with it in plastic. When I got home i saw that while repaired it was pulled too tightly and causing puckering. I brought it back to be fixed. When I picked it up all the work had been removed and the hole was back. I was told that the manager had emailed me and refunded me, saying that they couldn't do anything more for me. I checked for any communication and didn't find anything. Also, there was no refund of any kind from Greener Cleaner. Not happy here.

Went…read moreback and showed it to them looking for resolution, but not angry, but walked out angry because of the attitude. The guy kept repeating how he couldn't trust what I was saying like it was a he said/she said between me and the actual company doing the cleaning. 1) Your business is the front facing establishment I am doing business with - this is your responsibility. 2) he sent it back for free, which I was fine with - why the attitude? He made me mad, but it was unnecessary given we had a next step. When I went back to get it, it was almost all out, and he said he would send it back again, but again, it was the attitude. "This is the last time I will send it back for free" like it was my fault it happened - and at that point I'd already made up my mind I wasn't coming back regardless because of how he treats his customers. My husband went to pick up the shirt (it was his) and it was actually all out, but they started telling him how the stain wasn't pointed out the first time and he said that's because it wasn't there when it was brought here. They argued with him saying it was red sauce (no, it wasn't) and then another guy from the back came out swearing at him telling him he was a scam artist. We had arrived at a pretty easy solution, but they upped the tension each time to really piss us off with their attitude. Just be more customer focused!!
