    Cookie Monster Ice Cream
    Sara P.

3.5- The kids love coming here after dinner whenever we are in Bend. My son loves the Cookie Monster ice cream. The servers are always friendly and patient. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We do prefer the Sun River location ambiance better.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Not quite full pint, but the employee fixed it!

Normally we love Goodys! We usually go to the sunriver location when we stay there. We were about 40 miles away from Bend so we drove over so the small human could get ice cream. I ordered a hand pack pint of ice cream and it wasn't very full which was disappointing. Thankfully when I mentioned it the employee filled in the top inch for us.

This place is fun having two kids, one still being a kid and the other one starting to be a teen. It's always hard to find a common ground when we're on little family vacations and get a ways. Now you can imagine the candy stores always gonna go great doesn't matter if you're two or 102 you're gonna like it... Unless you're on some diet or have diet restrictions or just relatively and fun in that case Bye Felicia. Has some really cute spots in it I mean the little movie theater they have built in there with just every kind of movie theater candy around it. Absolutely amazing. The bulk bins back in full force bunch of foreign candies, which is always cool to be able to find without having to go out of the way. Always let the kids pick out a few different things each and they never disappoints always something new sometimes somethings so old I remember getting them when I was begging for candy at their age it's a must stop. I mean if you're in the area stop and grab something places like this, never need to go out of business, an absolute gem.

    Root beer float (very warm)

Visiting Bend, stopping at Goody's is a must. The kids love the new candy more than the antique candy in jars. We got the root beer float and hot chocolate. The root beer float wasn't very good because the soda was room temperature. I wished it had been cold or at least they put ice in the soda. The hot chocolate was good though. Service was good, the workers were pleasant but very quiet. Thought I heard a baby crying somewhere in the back. Seems like a family run store. The inside is very retro looking. Not many seats inside but on a nice day, the park down the street would be a great place to hang out.

Goody's is a really great little ice cream and candy shop. They have a factory in town and make their own popcorn, ice cream and chocolates. The ice cream was very good, we tried a few flavors including the cookie monster (oreos, cookie dough in blue vanilla ice cream) which the kids loved. The brownie batter was excellent, better than other versions I've had. The oreo was good but could have used more oreos. The chocolate hazelnut was good as well. The popcorn options are quite fun and since they make it here in town it is fresh. We went with the oreo flavor and it was ridiculously addictive. I couldn't stop eating it. They coat the popcorn in a clear coating and some white chocolate and then coat it with real chunks of oreo. Man oh man. The chocolate options looked good but we didn't have room left for them. The staff were great, let us try as much as we wanted and told us all about the process for making the popcorn. We'll be back!

Goody's seems like an institution in Bend so on a sunny day while we were in town we had to stop by. The downtown location got pretty busy in the afternoon and there were around 5 groups ahead of us. I will say come in when it's not busy or if you have more time since the staff was pretty swamped and ordering took closer to 15-20 mins to get our two milkshakes. I didn't order any of their candy/chocolates this visit but instead opted to get two milkshakes (oreo and brownie batter). $8 a milkshake is not the cheapest around but I thought the portion size and the density of the shake was worth it. I definitely like my shakes less runny so these were great, but definitely more of a spoon shake vs. using a straw to enjoy. They did take a little longer to get than other ice cream shops but I enjoyed both milkshake flavors. Cookie monster also seemed like a favorite that many people were ordering so I might come try it next time i'm in town.

Really good ice cream! Old timey soda fountain vibe. Friendly service. Plus candy to boot if you're in the mood.

Delicious and fresh ice cream. A single is really two scoops for $4.50. I had the marionberry and Oreo. Both are delicious. The marionberry included the entire berry in the ice cream. It was so fresh! The Oreo had huge pieces of Oreo. It was creamy and so good. I definitely recommend this place for real ice cream!

My, my my! What a delightful case of chocolates!

A fun, refreshing detour while out and about sight seeing in downtown Bend! Steve and I ducked in here for a sweet treat while visiting breweries and shopping! The old style soda fountain environment is a lot of fun... the place of course is very busy in the summer! I got a single scoop chocolate ice cream cone which was very good! Steve got a Strawberry one and I heard no complaints from him! In addition to the ice cream and shakes they also have a very impressive case filled with chocolate candies and we got a few of those as well... another sweet treat for another time in the day. Fun place!

The ice cream was yucky. I had the cookie dough one and it tasted very "less that average." For lack of better word, it's very... "meh."

I was in town for 4 days and ate there 3 times, breakfast, lunch and dinner!! It's a must period. One thing that was very inconvenient. You have to order at the counter and there's only one person. For breakfast the line was out the door with a 45 min wait just to order, and most of all the tables were empty. In other words, it makes no sense to have one register with all the tables they have. People are obviously eating fast then ordering your food. It's like have 1 waitress to take orders. They must either have waitresses or multiple registers to order. One order at a time and mist of them are large groups which makes it even harder to order. Everyone is adding food to there orders at the counter because that's when you see all the amazing backed goods, but it is way to time consuming. They can triple their sales easily!! You can also customize your meal as needed. To order, you stand in line like at a food court counter, but in a fancy way. While we were there, the line stretched to the door most of the time but it moves fast. This is the time you use to choose your bottle of wine, pick food, and browse the pastries on display. There were several places to sit indoors and out after placing the order. The kids hade the garlic bites (fried balls of bread with garlic and cheese...looked like doughnut holes!) and a pizza. They can add pepperoni to a cheese pizza for the particular children in your life. My husband and I shared a Cobb salad, no croutons to make it gf (the lemon dill dressing was AMAZING! Actually, this whole salad was very good). We also intended to share the NY strip with chimichurri. However, we didn't read that it comes with bread and a side salad (great!) and roasted vegetables in romesco sauce (also great!). My husband is allergic to nuts and so he couldn't eat any. That is not a complaint...all on us! The menu is clearly marked. But be aware if you have a nut allergy to specify that you can't have the romesco sauce. Or let the order taker know, as they are informed on modifications and whatnot. So he ate the salad and done pizza. I ate most of the steak and veggies. Everything tasted really good. The steak was a bit gristly. But the chimichurri was great. My absolute favorite thing was the elote cake with tajin buttercream. It was not a sweet cake. But it was heavenly. I should have grabbed another piece before we left. It was creative and salty and delicious and I still want it two days later. Service was great. Food is brought out as it's ready, not all at once. And the side salad and bread is brought before the main dish. The people were friendly and helpful. This was a great place and I would definitely go back.
