Not so great food . Waited forever for service and bill. Very disappointed. Will not recommend

Not sure what happened to Goodfolks juicy chicken tenders. Tonight my husbands and my order or dry and very tough. What a disappointment.

It's a very nice, bright dining room. The staff was ok but not really friendly and it was a slow time where many of the staff congregated and sort of stared at all the diners which was very off putting. The food was not good. Bland and my son's chicken tenders had lavender in the seasoning which I can't even describe how gross it tasted to him and myself. Lots of Georgetown folks like them but it is not for us. If you like lavender you may like it. read more

Everything we ate was delicious and tasted completely homemade, and the service was absolutely top notch! (well, everything except the fries, wasn't a fan, but I'm not huge on fries in general). We will definitely be frequent fliers. The chicken and biscuit soup......soooooooo gooooooood! Oh and the mashed potatoes, I could have gorged myself. Definitely take a group and try it all! read more

So, it has been a while since I reviewed any place. Been hitting the same old places. But we ventured out today and tried this place. Food was a bit pricey and not really all that special. What the heck is Kensington catsup. Just use regular. It's better. Too pretentious for me. Although my wife's burger always delicious according to her, my fried chicken sandwich was just a huge mess. Too much aioli. Didn't need cheese. Oh well. read more

Tonight was our first visit to Goodfolks. One of the reasons we chose this restaurant was because of their good Gluten Free selections. What a treat to have cornmeal fried catfish again. The service was great. We had one hitch in our order; the manager checked on us without our having to ask. She courteously and promptly fixed the issue to our satisfaction. We will definitely be returning; and bringing friends with us. Thanks. read more

Stopped in for brunch today, and the food and drinks were delicious! Great ambience. We'll be back!

First time visiting this new establishment and was not disappointed. The menu is fried chicken and two hamburgers. Chicken come numerous way as long as it is fried. Would like to see other chicken items on the menu besides fried. Give it a try you won't be disappointed. read more

Fried chicken was decent. I'd guess they had the oil up too high. The french fries were not good and tasted like fish. The macaroni and cheese was tasty. Wish they would of served some honey with the biscuits. Service was not good. I'm not sure what was going on with our waitress. Wasn't busy but seemed like she didn't want to be there. May give them another go. read more

First visit to Goodfolks. WONDERFUL food. Great service. Like the format. Clean, bright space. Families and "pretty people" alike. Check it out. Bring an appetite. We had the fried chicken and it was outstanding. Pimento cheese for a starter. Key Lime pie did not come out of a box. We will be back. read more

Great food, awesome staff! 8 piece mixed chicken and 6 tenders, good slaw and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese is dangerously delicious. First time trying fried pickles, I did not share them.. Slightly larger sides portions would be nice. read more

Went to have Mother's Day lunch (to avoid crowds on Sunday) and was promptly greeted by Terry. She made sure we were comfortable with our choice of table and then Tobin was right behind her, setting us up. The lollipops and brussel sprouts were great and the Goodfolks salad, chicken tenders and andouille sausage shrimp were outstanding. We even got to see the Daytripper folks come in for lunch! Thanks Goodfolks, we will be back! read more

My wife and I came to Goodfolks last night for her birthday dinner. The service from everyone was wonderful. Our waitress Francesca was super sweet as was the bartender who brought us our drinks. The 3 star review was due to our meal coming out raw. We ordered the fried chicken and when it came out it was raw in some pieces, and undercooked in others. We showed our waitress who quickly took it away to have a new batch cooked up. At this point the manager went out of his way to come over. he was also awesome and apologized for the undercooked food. After some time the new batch of chicken came out and sadly the new batch was also pink/ raw. At this point it was starting to get late and we just asked for our bill in hopes we could still get into another restaurant before everything in the square closed. Unfortunately at the time we left, nothing but fast food was open so my wife ended up not getting the birthday dinner we were hoping for. So a bit torn on this review as every person we interacted with at Goodfolks was wonderful, we just didn't get the opportunity to eat. During the time we were hanging out there, we each had a cocktail and a beer each. I wish they would have comped the drinks due to the food debacle. That would have been a nice thing to do and would have made us want to come back some time....But they didn't offer. read more

The food was excellent here and the ambiance was great. Service was good too. Will definitely go back when I'm in the area.

The seating was very crowded. We felt like we were sitting in the laps of our neighbors and it was very loud. Very difficult to hear across the table and have any type of conversation. The food was ok, but nothing that stands out and makes me want to go back. The service lacked. Too many people shoved in and too little wait staff. Water glasses were small. I had a spicy dish and ate my entire meal without anything to drink. Very difficult to get someone over to our table even to payout. read more

We visited Goodfolks for lunch on a Thursday. It was pretty busy for a weekday. We were seated upstairs on the balcony, at the very end. It took awhile for the waitress to see us. She was friendly. Took awhile to get our drinks (just tea, as we were all working). When she brought the drinks, we were all ready to order. But she dropped them off and said she would be back. Probably another 10 min she came back to take our order. Another 10 minutes to get drinks re-filled. This is Texas... get rid of the tiny mason jar glasses for ided-tea. The food was OK. I had the fried chicken. The pieces were tiny and it only came with one side. Kinda pricey compared to other chicken places in the area. The others at the table enjoyed their meals. Although one of the burgers was way over done. I doubt we will return for lunch. Kinda pricey to leave still hungry. The place is new and I am sure we will try again for dinner sometime. The service is too slow for working lunch crowd right now. Hopefull, it will improve over time. read more

Literally so good, that I wobbled out the door. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and amazing comfort food. The fried pickles were to die for and the mashed potatoes were exquisite! You can tell they use quality ingredients. It does reflect in the prices though. I've tried the chicken and burger. The chicken has some unique spice I can't pinpoint. I liked it but my husband didn't. It's very a very subjective. Nice decor. But I'm not a fan of the tiny glasses. read more

The food here was top notch..all the gluten free and non-gluten free eating folks will be impressed. So much to choose from...and as they say on the menu...many things can be made gluten free...INCLUDING fried chicken. My birthday dessert was gluten free as well and was the best key lime pie and crust. Jered was an AMAZING server and even sang happy birthday as a solo. Hahaha! Come here...you wont be disappointed. And if you come Wed-Fri 3:00-6:00 apps are half price. Dont skip the sirracha brussels. read more

100 degree day. The place is half full. Told me an hour wait. I'll never go back. No need go even go back at this point.

I brought my high school golf team for dinner. I am that person that looks at the menu online before. I ordered the chicken salad. I was given the fried chicken sandwich. The server told me no that I ordered the sandwich. I did not touch the sandwich at all. But I was still charged for the sandwich and salad? read more

Food was great! I had the french toast, and tried the bblt which, was already . Truffle Mac also was so good!

They forgot all our sauces which isn't a huge deal. Just annoying more than anything. Chicken sandwich was good but the bacon jam fried rice just looked like white rice with bacon and slightly sautéed veggies thrown in. Very underwhelming. Tenders and fries were delicious though. As well as the biscuits I could've eaten 20. We ordered pick up so I'd recommend probably dining in. Definitely would give another try seems like it was just an off night but wasn't unhappy with the food. read more

The ambience is great and the service was top notch. I also give them props for having gluten free batter for their fried chicken. I just have a hard time stomaching paying nearly $20 per person for chicken and biscuits. read more

Just tried to get a seating for three but told the waitress is having a bad day so it may be more than hour. Gumbos just closed and I'm sure you are next. I try to support local business in Gtown but this is just pure nonsense!. If your staff is no good, work as an owner and stop letting the employees run your establishment! read more

I had the two piece fried chicken which was recommended by the waiter. It did not disappoint. The chicken was moist with a perfectly seasoned crust. I had a side of Mac n cheese which was superb. I finished with the white chocolate bread pudding with ice cream which was amazing. Overall, will definitely be back to try more options. read more

I mean, got some kinks to work out for sure. Service is alright, drinks were bad, not like alright - downright bad, sent them back THREE times before just canceling. Biscuits are alright. Chicken is pretty good. Mac and cheese was the star of the show. Wouldn't wait an hour to eat there again though. read more
