We ordered 3 different things from the menu and ll were delicious! We will definitely be coming for more!!!

Not really impressed. We went early after a graduation on a Friday with a party of 8. The decor was nice and homey and while the service was okay it was not even average for a place like this. I think everyone tried something different so we had a variety of everything on the menu. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was not spicy and the bun was stale. The fries were a bit greasy. The chicken and waffles was a bit of the same with stale tasting waffles and under seasoned chicken. Overall i was a bit disappointed and probably will not go back. read more

Very good menu selection, on their site at https://www.zmenu.com/good folks-Georgetown-online-menu/

Our first time here food and service was wonderful. But the two level restaurant is extremely loud. We heard the baby crying down below, the big group gathered next to us, but I couldn't hear our own conversation or the waiter. Simple acoustical ceiling panels would be the fix, or custom printed panels on the sidewalls. An advice coming at a slower time when it's not full. read more

Pretty good food and really awesome atmosphere. Did have to get the waiters attention many times.

This is the worst chicken I have EVER tried to eat. No seasoning of any kind and so overcooked it was unreal. The fried potatoes and sweet potato fries were nasty. Again no seasoning of any kind very overcooked. Hubby said his burger was just okay but not worth the money read more

Fantastic new eatery Awesome menu choices Son had Waygu hotdog - yes there are 100% Waygu cattle, brought in from Japan, ranches & association in Soda Springs Idaho - which he said was tender & tasty I had chicken & waffle which was excellent Waffle was light & fluffy & 2 huge crispy, tender & delicious chicken tenders Did I mention they were tender Friendly & efficient staff Beautiful decor To Brianna J...yesterday the staff immediately informed us of bacon drippings in complimentary cheese & crackers They rectified your problem read more

My mother and I and my former neighbors were in Georgetown looking for a place for dinner and this place had no line and reasonable prices. Boy did we luck out. The food was great. The server was excellent and the prices were reasonable. The ambiance was also terrific. The only negative was that it got loud when the place was full. Highly recommended by the four of us. read more

We absolutely love this place! The food is always incredible, and they have some of the best fried chicken I've ever tasted. Brunch is excellent too. We always have wonderful service from the staff. We ate at the bar last Friday and the bartender gave us great cocktail and food recommendations. I highly recommend the buffalo chicken gnocchi, it's my personal favorite on the menu. While they are usually busy, the staff does their best to seat you in a timely manner. This is one of our favorite places to eat on the square in Georgetown. read more

Another great little food joint on the Georgetown Square! I came here one time with friends not really knowing what to expect, but we were not disappointed! The brussel sprout appetizer was amazing and my friend and I split the southern comfort burger. Oh so good! read more

My wife and I grabbed lunch here this past Saturday while the PoppyFest was going on. She had the shrimp and grits and I had the shrimp and andouille sausage étouffée and it could not have been any better. We will be back soon!! read more

We were having dinner in Austin that night- but needed a light lunch/ heavy snack so we hit up GoodFolks. We shared an 9 piece chicken tenders meal with good slaw and potato salad and added some starters, biscuits, brussel sprouts and pimento cheese. It was the perfect amount of food for 6 of us. It was all great- the starters especially. The only thing I would not get again is the "sweet tea". When I think of sweet tea it's full of sugar and hardly tastes like tea. One friend ordered hers half sweet and half unsweet and I ordered sweet. When I asked if I had the right one, she said, we don't have sweet tea, we just add some of our simple syrup to our tea and I added more in yours. It is a far cry from sweet tea. Half of those that ordered the lavender lemonade liked it and the other half not so much. But I would definitely visit again if in the area. read more

Ambiance was nice and my salad was good, but the FIRST THING we noticed was that it was SO COLD inside. When we were seated the gentlemen next to us saw our faces, nodded and said, "It's cold in here!" We moved to another table to get away from the AC vent. Several other customers looked chilled and were looking up at the AC vents. A man we assumed to be a manager came by; we mentioned it was a bit cold. He smiled and replied that some people like it cold. It's hot outside. And besides, he said he could handle it because he was wearing a suit coat so he was fine. He did not acknowledge our discomfort or make any attempt to warm it up even a little. I will not return here to eat or recommend it to anyone else. It was too uncomfortable to enjoy. Management was uncaring. And actually, the service was slow considering it was not crowded at all. I can't believe I am saying this but the Texas heat felt good when we left. read more

My friend and I used to frequent University Burgers whenever we were in Georgetown, so we wanted to try Good Folks. The staff was very courteous and our server was pleasant and gladly honored our every request. All of the staff seemed to be really sweet and took pride in their work. We both ordered their classic burger. We were very disappointed that were really dry and without flavor. The bun was good, but doesnt everyone want a nice juicy burger? My friend also ordered their coleslaw, but it had an off flavor and needed salt and pepper. The price wouldnt have been bad IF it would have been tasty. Personally, I would rather have had a Sonic or a Mighty Fine. read more

Have been here once before- service that time was slow and cumbersome but food was delicious! When we returned this evening I was prepared for questionable service but looked forward to dinner !! Cocktail was terrible - switched to water. Shrimp and grits - inedible. Floating in oil - broken and clumpy - I ate the protein but sent the grits and grease to the garbage. 2 visits- never again. read more

We love the staff and food here. It's become one of our "go to" spots. The only complaint I have, is that the past couple of times I've been to Good Folks I've been handed my drink with hands around the rim where I sip. Just pointing out this out for a training opportunity for the staff. read more

Yummy, great food nice place and people the chicken is delicious and you will be happy

I don't know why we've never gone here but I'm so glad we did! Service was friendly and top notch. Food was hot, portions were plentiful and everything was delicious. And the best part... bone in fried chicken right here in Georgetown! (That's not a drive thru.) Loved our experience and will definitely be back!!! read more

A friend and I just tried this place on a whim while walking around the square. We were in for a treat! At first we were really impressed by the atmosphere. Loved the two story dining room. Our drinks were great and all of our food was excellent. My only complaint was that I had eaten the complimentary pimento cheese unknowing that there was bacon in it, and I am a pescatarian. If our server had mentioned it, I would have passed. It was an honest mistake and did not hinder my experience, however people with stricter diets might feel differently. All things considering, I will definitely be back! read more

One of my new favorites. The appetizers are delicious. Staff was so sweet. This restaurant is gorgeous inside and out. Cocktails are strong. I ate the most delicious burger! read more

Had lunch there today and it was the best burger tha I have ever had!! Southern comfort burger yummy

Beautiful place with great food and drinks. The chicken and biscuit soup was my favorite.

Me and my SO went here for the first time today. I have absolutely nothing bad to say! Everything was AMAZING! The food was great! The pricing was GREAT. Very sweet staff. We had Jessica for our server and she was very kind and sweet! We were asked multiple times by the owner (I believe she was the owner) if our food was good, she was very personable and nice! Very clean environment! We will definitely be coming back! Thank you for a great experience! read more

In the mood for Fried Chicken or Chicken and Dumpling soup? This is the spot! Very cute atmosphere and delicious food. Love the high ceilings and the balcony seating in the 2nd floor. read more

A hidden gem still perhaps, but not for long! Darling redo of previous burger establishment, Good Folks is as delicious as it is charming. No reservations for less than 6, so it could be tricky, but we showed up for brunch on Sunday at 9:57 and were seated immediately when they opened at 10. We couldn't decide as everything sounded so good, so we ordered strawberry waffles, side of eggs, and the four piece chicken tenders with slaw and potato salad thinking we'd just take the extras home (spoiler alert-there were no extras-we just stuffed ourselves!). Everything was delicious--not just good, but delicious. The waffles were served with a delightful vanilla infused whipped cream which was perfect with the strawberry purée and fresh strawberries. The egg yolks were a beautiful orange color and cooked perfectly over easy as we requested. The chicken tenders were large, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The slaw had bits of Granny Smith apple sliced into it-a genius touch and one I will add at home. The potato salad was savory perfection. I am the queen of mustard potato salad (seriously, it's legendary), so I usually skip the potato salad as it's often worse than meh with those bits of pimento, but this was a mayo based salad that was the best I've tried. I can't even guess what all gave it its umami goodness, but I recommend it to everyone. Prices were very reasonable, even more so considering how expensive everything has gotten. We had very attentive service as well. I highly recommend this place! read more

Great service but food not good. I've been there before for lunch and loved it. Went to today for brunch and I was so disappointed. Food had no quality or taste. read more

Great fried chicken, biscuits, truffle Mac and cheese . . . and we are always greeted at the door and treated well. the servers work great as a team, the aesthetic is clean, bright and uncluttered and people- watching is good entertainment through the front windows onto Georgetown's square. read more

Both food and service was excellent. I highly recommend the Brussel sprouts for an appetizer. The atmosphere is cute, sleek, and modern.

Just tried this new restaurant Georgetown last night. My husband and I had the fried chicken which was very tasty. Our friends tried the chicken & biscuit soup which was good but there were no biscuits in it. We told our waitress & she brought out two tiny biscuits. We asked if we could have a few more. She brings out 4 tiny biscuits, no butter, no honey with it..got the bill and were charged EIGHT dollars extra for those bite size biscuits!! Really? Most places give you complimentary bread. They need to rethink the price & size of their biscuits! read more

The fried chicken is extremely well flavored, but the standout winner is their house made honey butter. Try it, you won't be sorry.

The food and atmosphere are both great. The staff is ver friendly. One of our favorite restaurants in Georgetown.

It was not our favorite. New to Texas we tried it out one night because of the good reviews....left underwhelmed

Not much too say other than service and the fried chicken was excellent. The atmosphere like many today was very plain which causes a lot of noise when sound bounces all of the hard surfaces. There were not many people here as we had a late lunch. I can only imagine how loud it can get when full which makes it hard to carry on a conversation. read more

You have to get your host staff to at least acknowledge people when they walk in. Lost lots of business today! I'm get your short but being ignored is a problem. read more

We had a wonderful lunch today at Goodfolks. It started and ended on a high note with the hostess, Leah. She was welcoming, helpful and friendly. The restaurant is located in an old, but very nicely renovated, building on the square. Our food was delicious. We have already booked our next time. read more

I came here with a group of volunteers for a holiday brunch and we had a wonderful time! The restaurant was very accommodating of our party of 12, and the brunch menu had a good variety to accommodate a variety of tastes. Our waiter was excellent and he was patient with our many separate checks :) Guests in our party had the strawberry waffles, blueberry pancakes, classic breakfast, BBLT and more, and everyone ended the meal with empty plates! The coffee was also excellent. The decor for the holidays was beautiful. I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant, especially if you are looking for a festive and comfortable place to take a group! read more

First time in. Had the lollipop bacon wrapped andouille sausage for appetizer with dipping sauce. Really good and simple flavors. Had fried chicken white meat, dark color throws off your visual senses, but the juiciness and flavor quickly corrects your what your eyes take in. Ordered the fried rice which looked really pricey. But again it was amazing. Only rice I will eat is fried because to me it is the only one worth eating. This is best fried rice I have ever had! Another flavor correction for what my wallet was questioning. Bartender Carol was outstanding. Not only made a killer whiskey sour, but guided us well in our ordering process! I would like to put this in our weekly rotation, but for now can only afford it in the monthly. But, the next pay raise and we moving up to weekly! Especially if they can get a good sangria on the menu. Lol. Everyone here was very friendly and actually seemed to enjoy their jobs, which is always to go see. Best of luck and hope to see you again in very near future. read more
