Date night spot! My wife and I visited for our 27th anniversary. Soft lighting, but it's not dark, which I appreciate. Brick accents inside with beautiful chandeliers - this place is elegant. Service is attentive and quick. We found the list of cocktails unique and refreshing, not to mention tasty. The wine list looked above average (maybe not "extensive"), but I'm not a qualified expert in the area by any means. The food! We started with the Beef Tartare which was excellent, the toasted bread was good enough to stand alone. We each had a salad that we enjoyed. I had the Salade Lyonnaise, fresh tasting and a perfectly executed poached egg on top. We enjoyed our selections. I ordered the Snake River Farms American Wagyu NY Strip. Honestly, I was expecting more from this cut, it was a bit chewy and I had to leave a good chunk of it on my plate as scraps. To be fair though, it was just listed as MP on the menu and I thought I was going to have some buyers remorse, especially given I was underwhelmed - but I felt it was fairly priced and it was well prepared - just not the quality of cut I was expecting. My wife had the filet and it was excellent, this is likely my order next time. Especially given Sovian offers several different accompanying steak sauces as complimentary add-ons. This is a nice touch! We shared an order of shaved brussel sprouts as a side. Interestingly this is actually one of their appetizers. We didn't find anything in the "sides" that really piqued our interest, but the brussels were amazing. We had ordered the Pommes Frites (truffle fries), also on the appetizer menu - good flavor but I thought the fries could have been a bit crispier which would have made them better. We finished with a basque cheesecake - my wife is gluten free and this comes without a crust. This might have been the highlight of the food - we've not had a basque style cheesecake before though so maybe it is just new/unique to us, but we really enjoyed this. A bit more dense than a traditional cheesecake but not overly rich, I really liked it. I would highly recommend this as a romantic dinner night, but I also felt that the price was very fair given the quality of food and service. We will be back for more casual visits for sure. Awesome birthday dinner without the drive all the way into Austin. Our server James was great. We started with the creamy deviled eggs. Although great, we wished we hadn't ordered them so that we could save room to finish our entrée. Before getting into the entrees we had cocktails of LA Grande Pêche and V's Dirty Martini. Both were done nicely so we ended up with another round even though they were out of Titos. Between appetizer and main course we were brought 2 types of Amuse LA Bouche. They were a great accessory to have before dinner and both tasted good. For our mains we had the Colorado lambchops with cous cous salad and a prime ribeye. I also added an order of lobster Mac n cheese. It was creamy and nicely seasoned. We finished the night off with a Basque cheesecake. Ambiance was dimly lit with soft music in the background. At some point it changed from what may have been european instrumentals into contemporary jazz. It was a nice touch. Well done Sovian. European inspired steakhouse. Dress code enforced. Dress nice. It's fancy :) It was very good. I had craved the Red Snapper since we planned this visit. But when it came to it, I ended up just ordering sides or "accompaniments". Typical for me at a steakhouse, but not when there's snapper or salmon. The wood grilled asparagus was so good! There were eight of us. One ordered the beef bourguignon, another the skewers, a couple shared the steak & sides, one salad & French onion soup and the last salmon. No one tried the snapper. Next time. Everyone absolutely loved their dinners. Cooked to perfection. Drinks were very good & the white chocolate creme brulee was superb. I would go back for a special occasion. We went to this restaurant last night for dinner. It's a new restaurant in Georgetown. It's kind of hard to find because the signage is not up-but they do have a banner. It's important to know that it's directly next to the valet parking. First thing I saw was their lovely patio with outside seats. Upon entering the restaurant, the decor was very well designed. They have some beautiful oil, paintings and prints on the walls in addition to crystal chandelier pieces. This is a very classy restaurant. I'm very excited to have a place where I feel comfortable wearing my nice clothes! We were seated promptly by Patty. They have tables and booths. We were then served Pellegrino and given lovely menus that have leather covers. They have a separate wine menu, which is vast. One can actually buy a bottle of wine for over $3000! One can also buy a bottle of wine for $60. So there's something for everyone. They have white wine, they have Napa wine, and they have Italian wine, just to name a few. On their food menu, they have steak and chicken and shrimp and duck and more. They have some beautiful sides like carrots with goat cheese and feta. I'm gonna get those next time! Our server was Ashley and she was amazing. I am not an easy customer to serve because of my food restrictions, however, Ashley made it easy and fun. She served my husband some bread before the meal and she says to me "don't you eat any of this!" :) it was in a very kind and playful manner because I can't have gluten. She then suggested for me the brussels sprouts appetizer which she had altered for me. The brussels sprouts were fantastic. She then helped me select the salmon plate and she spoke with the chef and switched the sauce for me. It was amazing! It was a beautiful fresh piece of salmon on top of lovely vegetables, including snow peas; I happen to love, snow peas! To add one more touch of class to my dinner, the plates look like China. I love this place! Along with my dinner, I had a beautiful glass of Italian wine. My husband had a martini and he also had the salmon. Both of our dinners together plus the wine and the martini and the hors d'oeuvre and the Pellegrino was $130. Not bad for a very fine dining experience. As I looked around the room, I saw people on dates and I saw married couples on evenings out, and one thing they all had in common is everyone looked happy and content, as we were too. This is not a place for jeans and T-shirts Definitely wear nicer clothes. I saw some people wearing their nicest evening clothes, I was wearing some nice pants and a beautiful beaded blouse. This is a beautifully appointed restaurant- definitely has the upscale feel. Lighting is soft, but you can read your menu. The Caesar salad was quite large- enough for two. It had a wonderful dressing with just a touch of anchovy. The parmesan crisps were a nice touch. I had the filet mignon and it was marvelous. It was 2-3 inches thick, yet cooked correctly all the way through. It was flavorful and so tender. The restaurant offers several sauces with your steak- I chose Bernaise. It comes in its own separate dish and it was perfect. During the course of our meal, our wonderful waiter, David, brought out two little tastings from the chef. A glorious salmon mousse in pastry crust, and later a shaved parsnip and strawberry salad with crispy fennel. Also delicious. What a nice touch- to offer these small hints of what the chef can do! Sovian is on the pricy side, but in line with most good steak restaurants. This is a splendid addition to Georgetown- the one we've been waiting for. Highly recommend. read more

Let me start by saying the food is delicious and our server was great. The inside is beautiful and has an elegant feel to it. Dress code does mention it's "dressy" and if a patron has on athletic wear, etc they will be asked to sit on the patio. To me that's understanding as this is a nice place. As we were dining we were seated facing the bar area. There was a women eating at the bar with athletic shorts on and a tank top. It was obvious she was with the bartender as he walked from around the bar and kissed her. As time went on she began to feed him from her plate. He would lean over all the bar condiments and glasses from inside the bar area so she could give him a bite of her burger/sandwich. i'm not sure how much food fell onto the bar glasses, etc but it looked gross. At one point he came from around the bar and grabbed food from her plate with his hands and put the food into his mouth. Then he went back into the bar area and made a drink, clearly not washing his hands. Then another server came over to the woman and he too grabbed food off her plate with his hands and fed himself. I'm in no way telling someone not to dine here as the food is really good but I do think this needs to be addressed as it doesn't look good for business. read more

What a treat it was to dine at Sovian Restaurant last night! From the moment we walked in, I was impressed. The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous, and I truly appreciated the upscale atmosphere--including the dress code! From the exposed brick walls and stunning chandeliers to the beautiful presentation of every dish, no detail was overlooked. We started with the beef tartare and oysters, and both were incredible. The oysters were topped with fennel, citrus, Fresno peppers, and a champagne mignonette that created the perfect balance of bright, fresh flavors. The beef tartare was packed with flavor, and the quail egg on top was the perfect finishing touch. They also surprised us with a few complimentary bites, along with fresh-from-the-oven bread that was absolutely outstanding! For our entrées, my husband ordered the Colorado lamb chops and kept saying, "WOW!" after every bite. It was truly a standout dish. I chose the salmon, and oh my goodness--it was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. We shared the Romanesco cauliflower as a side, and it was amazing. That's definitely a dish we'll be ordering again! By the time dessert arrived, I was already full, but I couldn't resist a few bites of the crustless cheesecake. It was rich, creamy, and so good. And can we talk about the wine list? One of the most impressive wine selections I've seen in Georgetown! If you're looking for the perfect date night spot, make plans to visit Sovian. The ambiance of the restaurant was perfect for sitting alone to enjoy a small dinner and drinks. The ambiance is quite nice. I enjoy going to restaurants that I can dress somewhat elevated. I only had appetizers and they were good but honestly just mediocre. I ordered an Aperol Spritz and it was overly sweet as if it was made from a mix and it wasn't fresh. This place is very expensive which I do not mind as long as the quality is there. I'm not sure if I would return to this place or not. read more

We had a very good experience at Sovian this evening; 7 adults and 1 baby. The food was delicious and the most amazing Brioche rolls, fresh from the oven. The interior is very pleasing and comfortable. Our waitress, Allie was awesome. Very helpful in choosing drinks to our final choice of dessert. We will be back. read more

Terrific new place in the Rivery Summit, Georgetown, TX is Sovian Steakhouse Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge. It has a chill, soulful atmospheric vibe, so romantic! Still in its Soft Opening phase, the service was still excellent for the birthday dinner for my wife. We had puff pastry cream cups, pomme frites, and deviled eggs for appetizers. My wife had a Chardonnay whilst I had sparkling water. She had the prime filet mignon, well done, whilst I had the Wagyu New York Strip sirloin, medium rare - perfect pink! For accompaniments, we had the brioche breads and sauteed mushrooms with oysters. We concluded with a chocolate mousse cake for my wife. We are always looking for a new place in GT. So some friends recommended this place. When we walked in the smell of sewer back up was terrible. Should have turned around. Grabbed a seat at the bar. Service was spot on and they Espresso Martinis were good. They suggested beef skewer appetizer. It was ok. But needed salt. Then they recommended the mussels. They were the worst we have ever had. The sauce was good but the mussels tasted like frozen ones from a bad supermarket. Won't be back! read more

Wedge salad had the perfect amount of smoke flavor: 8oz filet was cooked perfectly and the cauliflower and carrots were perfect. The Coq au vin was some of the best I have tasted. As soon as we walked in, the experience felt special. The decor was absolutely beautiful. It was clear that much thought was put into the details, even down to the retro water glasses. Every seat in the house is a comfortable chair. Our server was very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious! We've had a few experiences in the area where the prices are high and the food was disappointing so we were wary, but that wasn't the case here. Everything we had was full of flavor and exceeded our expectations. I especially loved the Cauliflower Romanesco. Hands down the best meal we have had in round rock or Georgetown by a mile. The ambience of the restaurant is great. The gin cocktail was wonderful. We tried the deviled eggs, snapper crudo, wedge salad, truffle fries, lobster mac and cheese, mushroom and herbs side and creme brulee. Every single dish was 10/10. Impossible to pick a favorite. Lemon drop cocktails rimmed in salt? So much fat on your large ribeye that you only have a small portion (2"x3") of actual protein? Stomach feeling so awful after the feta harissa amuse bouche you think you might be sick? Not everyone in our party drinks alcohol but we didn't expect watered down Countrytime Lemonade out of a soda gun either. We were looking forward to eating at this restaurant as we were there to celebrate a family accomplishment. On top of that, we were excited to try the Pappy Van Winkle bourbon they boasted about on their website. When we tried to order it, we were told that the bottle was missing. Lovely decor and atmosphere. Parking lot a block away. The amuse bouches were good and a nice touch. The steaks and lobster mac were yummy. Husband's creme brûlée was a little runny but he liked the flavor. The Basque cheesecake was perfect. The things that pulled this review down were the 2 dirty wine glasses on the table when we were seated. His glass had lipstick clearly visible all around the top. Mine looked like it had just been rinsed without washing/drying. Smudges all over. They need to reconsider the wine list. It's either $50-60 bottles or $200-500 bottles. And what I observed in the latter category was very overpriced. We are happy to pay $80-180 for a great wine but that wasn't an option. The old fashioneds we opted for were good though. We will probably wait for them to be past the 'soft opening' phase awhile before trying again. read more
