This is inside the Kalahari resort in Roundrock Texas. This venue is your typical high end high cost steak house option. Dark wood, dim lighting, linen everything, staff all dressed up and so on. However this was outstanding! My steak was out of this world... the sides were outstanding... and our service was impeccable! I had the 9oz filet, with sides of asparagus, cheese potatoes, and corn. All of it was awesome. Made to perfection and flavors abound. The one thing was there was just so much. The fillet was giant, the sides all shareable, and we had had aps before dinner (candied bacon and something else I forget), even their bread and butter was mind blowing! You know what else was mind blowing... the cost of course. A premium steak house inside a resort... you know they are going to get ya. These was also live singing and keyboards... a bit too loud for the space especially if you're trying to have a business dinner but it was ok. The location was outstanding, the food was perfect and the atmosphere was good. I'd go back!

Tomahawk Steak, lobster mac & cheese, mashed potatoes and grilled veggies

Double Cut touts itself as an upscale steak house and it is but only in ambiance and food prices. Let's put it this way the Truffle Fries for appetizer was the highlight of the meal. We ordered the 40 oz tomahawk steak which we chose mashed potatoes, lobster mac & cheese and grilled asparagus. Ordered tomahawk steak medium rare which it was but it had no flavor on the tough side and was dry. The lobster Mac and cheese was dry and some of the pasta was hard, the potatoes were dry but the grilled asparagus was good. The decor is nice, has a very nice bar and the live entertainment that night was excellent. Our waiter did a good job. Very disappointing meal. Could have saved a few hundred dollars and got a better steak and sides at Texas Roadhouse.

Let me start with the good. The service was warm and inviting. Time was taken to ensure my ribeye steak was cooked correctly. The wine was delightful and served at the perfect temp. The side item and starter were really good. I know what you saying.... The food was good so what's the problem. The problem is I was seated in the bar/ live music area and near by was a large party. They should have been seated another place then where they were. I know what you're thinking... why would she make this statement. As I ate my starter I noticed not one, not two but 3 children running laps on and around the sofa and coffee table. Playing and climbing on the fireplace. Oh then doing flips on the coffee table. Little girls, dresses and legs in the air.... Every once in a while the parents would say something to the children. But they would go right back to treating the restaurant as a playground. My next issue was that it was hot. I'm not sure what temp the restaurant is set on but it's way too hot. At some point I was so uncomfortable I asked them to pack my food to go and I left. I really do think the management should have stepped in. This was not the fine dining experience I had hoped for.

Hash Browns - this was our favorite side! Next time we will only order this to split.

First time having Dinner at Double Cut Steak House!we loved everything we ordered. Hubby and son had filet's. I had the prime rib sandwich, which was huge. Maybe a little too much bread though. I pulled off the bread and mostly ate the meat. The meat, veggies, and cheese were good. My son and Husband loved their filet mignon steaks. Our favorite side was the hash brown. The mushrooms were good and we brought home most of the baked potato and asparagus because we all loved the hash brown so much. Since it was my husband's birthday we got a complimentary dessert. My son had the triple chocolate cake and hubby had the banana creme cheesecake. Ender, our server, was amazing! He kept our drinks full and checked on us to make sure everything was perfect. We will definitely be back!

What a meal! We had the hanging bacon, the BLT wedge, the bourbon mushrooms, the porterhouse, mashed potato's, Brussels sprouts and truffle fries. All were delicious and accommodated for food allergies! Services was 10/10 and the ambience was lovely with a roaring fire and live harpist!

The house made bread is amazing soft focaccia with garlic chunks and rosemary - the shisitos have this dancing fish skin that throws off the smell and flavor and some are super spicy and the steak New York strip with blue cheese was not so stinky more creamy less blue veins and the service was top notch and the steak was delicious but I was disappointed by the bourbon mushrooms - they had very little flavor felt like just mushrooms the ambiance with the music and low lighting was romantic and classy and jazzy the the mashed potatoes were good the garlic was easy to smash into them and the cocktails were lovely the waitstaff was really great - there was one hair on the aioli of the shishito peppers so I had to take off another star for that it's not sanitary - honestly the house bread was so impressive...

Went for dinner on a Monday night. Staff was happy to tend to us, as it was a slow night. I have to say Ailin was amazing, very patient and professional. Everything ordered for the table was great. I personally had the scallops dish and it is something I would order again. They were cooked perfectly. I stayed at the hotel for a conference and have to say this is a great option for dinner.

White bread like Olive Garden serves just not bread stick style.

In the water park. Table bread is white bread with rosemary (not French or sourdough). Not for me. I prefer a high end bread at a restaurant of this caliber. Butter has chunks of salt and a garlic clove on top. White bread w garlic and salt isn't too tasty. It was warm that's a plus. -Prices start at $22-$110 for main course -sides are $9-$32. -Desserts $13-24.00 Good to know. They put everyone in a small room and it's very loud. Unacceptable seating situation for a restaurant of this caliber. So we left. Yuck Never got our order.

Made a stop at the resort steak house and it was a great choice! Apologies for the horrible pictures, it was dark inside and my camera just wouldn't focus. But the vibe was still nice and romantic, if you are going for a date night. They also had a talented lady singing and playing the piano. The service was great! We were supposed to have another server attend to us, but somebody else helped him and he did amazing. Overall, we did not wait too long for our food. We ordered two steaks as you can see in the not so great pictures and both my kids were able to share the mac & cheese and fries. The steaks were cooked to perfection and they put butter on top that went very well with the steak. No need for any additional type of sauce. The kids mac & cheese was perfect because some places lack the sauce of the cheese and this place hit it on the spot. Something that my husband really liked was all the choices of whiskeys they had and overall just drinks. If you are staying at the resort or nearby, this is definitely a spot to check out. We did make reservations prior to getting there however it was not busy at all for a Thursday night so definitely take that into consideration.

    Toasted Salmon Roll

WOW! What a great dinner! We came here to celebrate our twins 10th bday. We started off with carpaccio and edamame. Carpaccio is delicious and my daughter ate all of the edamame. For dinner the kids got tenders and mac n cheese which was great. Dad had a filet with mushrooms and lobster mac n cheese. He devoured those I didn't even get a comp bite. So many sushi rolls to choose from. Wish there was more with raw salmon. I got the Godfather Roll. It was so good! Also the Toasted Salmon Roll which was very fresh. Our waiter brought out comp birthday cupcakes with candles which was a great touch. Bostan was GREAT! We will DEFINITELY be back again!

    Asparagus and Ribeye
    Florence A.

Food: delicious. Husband got the ribeye and I got the smoked salmon. No complaints. Ribeye was cooked to perfection. I love that the salmon skin was extra crispy. The sides, garlic mashed potatoes, broccoli, and asparagus cooked to perfection, trust me Ive had overdone broccoli before, and this place outdid themselves. Service: our waiter, she was sweet and welcoming, she recommended her top drinks, I ended up getting the raspberry wisp (strong but tasty). Ambiance: romantic, cozy vibe. Perfect for a date night.

Great food even better service! We had a wonderful dinner. Make sure you try the burnt ends. They are fantastic and the pickled veggies that come with it aren't just for decoration. My steak was cooked perfectly and the Brussels sprouts were excellent as well Barris, our server made the experience. He had excellent recommendations. He was attentive without hovering. Overall, everything you want in great service. Highly recommend trying this place

Do they accept walk ins or strictly reservations?

Both but reservations are highly recommended especially on the weekends. The best restaurant on site for sure!

    Is there a Kid's menu?

Yes! Trying to remember everything on it...steak, pasta with a couple of choices of sauce, chicken tenders, a few other options also. The steak was great! All had side options also

Kids meal was $10, came with fries and 2 chicken tenders, they were thin one of our girls wouldn't eat them, no drink that we know of as no one helps us. The tacos were packed in a tin and were so greasy it ruined the other tortillas. My carne guisada was huge chunks of pure fat. We left after spending $100, tipped 15% because I couldn't bring myself to do less but other than someone running the food to us the did nothing. We did self serve water and the flies were so bad (as to be expected outside) we had to just throw away stuff as we were "done" with it so nothing for them to even clean up. We left disappointed and hungry. I truly do not understand where the 4-5 stars are coming from. Service was non existent, atmosphere was run down and dirty, food was sub par at best. Two stars only because of I was in my mid 20's and looking for a place to watch a UT game it was totally my vibe. But other than the Vision it is a 0-1 star for me. Ugh I'm so sorry :( maybe we just had a bad experience.

Finally made our first visit so we could try "the best fish & chips" in the Austin area. I was surprised how big it was, they have a patio, a bar area and lots of tables I was shocked as from the outside it looks tiny. Service was fantastic which was shocking with them closing soon. The service was enough to want me to go back hopefully for us in this area they end up somewhere close by as I know how hard it is to find good workers. Pretzels were good! Onion rings were our favorite! Their version of the Philly was just okay, was very plain with not much flavor hubby didn't even finish half. But the star of the show was the fish and chips. My son was over the moon! Couldn't even finish half of it and he wanted to haha. The mushy peas were yummy and added an authenticity to the dish. I didn't really use the curry sauce that also came with the dish. To me it doesn't go with fish or chips. For the positives: our drinks were very good, hard to mess up a draught beer, but it was not flat & just cold enough. She absolutely loved the daiquiri, side note- she's with me so standards aren't super high. Bar staff were super helpful and attentive, patio was very chill and secluded from the other spots surrounding it. The bathroom was clean and didn't smell like vomit. Negatives: My fish and chips were below expectations. Their grease was entirely too hot and it was flash fried causing the batter to be too crispy and the fish was piping hot. The selection of cod was not good either most of the pieces were blackened meat and the chips were crinkle cut fries, a letdown. I wasn't expecting a London level plate but it was a very sad and lonely one. Her burger was loaded with BBQ sauce and her mac-n-cheese balls were fried similarly causing the same burnt batter.
