The steak was perfectly seasoned and delicious. Both of our steaks were slightly overdone but still tasty. The service was fair. And not for any lack of effort of our server. She calmly walked the room but I watched her actually run once she got into the hallway. As the restaurant got busier, she ran faster. It felt like an understaffing issue. It took a while for my friend's cocktails and wine to arrive but we managed to get everything together before it was time to pay the bill. This wouldn't be my first or last choice for a steakhouse. However this was outstanding! My steak was out of this world... the sides were outstanding... and our service was impeccable! I had the 9oz filet, with sides of asparagus, cheese potatoes, and corn. All of it was awesome. Made to perfection and flavors abound. The one thing was there was just so much. The fillet was giant, the sides all shareable, and we had had aps before dinner (candied bacon and something else I forget), even their bread and butter was mind blowing! You know what else was mind blowing... the cost of course. A premium steak house inside a resort... you know they are going to get ya. Ordered tomahawk steak medium rare which it was but it had no flavor on the tough side and was dry. The lobster Mac and cheese was dry and some of the pasta was hard, the potatoes were dry but the grilled asparagus was good. First time having Dinner at Double Cut Steak House!we loved everything we ordered. Hubby and son had filet's. I had the prime rib sandwich, which was huge. Maybe a little too much bread though. I pulled off the bread and mostly ate the meat. The meat, veggies, and cheese were good. My son and Husband loved their filet mignon steaks. Our favorite side was the hash brown. The mushrooms were good and we brought home most of the baked potato and asparagus because we all loved the hash brown so much. Since it was my husband's birthday we got a complimentary dessert. The kids mac & cheese was perfect because some places lack the sauce of the cheese and this place hit it on the spot. Something that my husband really liked was all the choices of whiskeys they had and overall just drinks. If you are staying at the resort or nearby, this is definitely a spot to check out. WOW! What a great dinner! We came here to celebrate our twins 10th bday. We started off with carpaccio and edamame. Carpaccio is delicious and my daughter ate all of the edamame. For dinner the kids got tenders and mac n cheese which was great. Dad had a filet with mushrooms and lobster mac n cheese. He devoured those I didn't even get a comp bite. My rating for the ambiance is zero. * My husband ordered the rib eye, and I ordered the pork chop. Both were seasoned well. A side dish of creamed spinach was ordered that was the consistency of a spinach dip. We ordered 2 beers and 2 glasses of wine. No dessert was ordered. The cost was ~$169.00. We also ordered the "hanging bacon", which was far too sweet - seriously need to lighten up on the syrup glaze. We also had the burnt ends appetizer which was excellent- highly recommend this one. And the speed with which our steaks came out was almost suspicious given the filet was ordered medium-well which usually elicits a plea to butterfly that cut - which they did not (pleased)! The inconsistency was frustrating and disappointing. Issue #2: Bar Service Breakdown On another visit, we sat at the bar--our preferred spot--only to be met with indifference. The kitchen staff and servers should pay attention before they serve them. This misstep has happened a few times. Dining at Double Cut is not inexpensive, and we've always felt the experience justified the cost--until now. These lapses in service have made us feel undervalued and unwelcome. The bartender/server asked what we wanted to drink. I ordered a drink and a Pellegrino water. He then asked if we wanted lime or lemon. My husband and I both said "thank you" because we didn't clearly hear the question. He responded with, "I asked you a question--why are you saying thank you?" I apologized and said lemon. He laughed and said, "I'm an asshole." We were completely shocked that he actually said that to us. He then walked away, and 20 minutes passed with no drinks. We called him back over and told him we were ready to order. We repeated our drink order for the second time and placed our food order. He wrote everything down. After 30 more minutes, still no drinks and no food. My husband asked if he had forgotten our drinks. He said no, but then came back a few minutes later and asked what our drinks were--so we repeated our order for the third time. Throughout all of this, he never once checked on us or asked if we needed anything. Another 20 minutes later, we asked about our food. He said he would go check in the back, but he never actually did. After 1 hour and 20 minutes, we decided to leave. We were only served one drink, and our food never arrived. The restaurant was also not very busy, which made the situation even more disappointing. Please treat people better. We had a reservation at 7:15 PM and arrived six minutes early. Despite having a confirmed booking, we were told the restaurant had many walk-ins and were asked to wait. We were not seated until 20 minutes after our reservation time, which defeats the purpose of making one. I ordered the truffle scallops, which were served cold and undercooked. I was told a manager would come by to address the issue, but no one ever followed up or offered an apology. We also ordered the lobster mac and cheese, which was extremely disappointing. It was topped with an excessive amount of dry, overcooked breadcrumbs that completely overwhelmed the dish. After scraping them off, there was hardly any lobster meat to be found--if any at all. Overall, this was a highly disappointing dining experience. The lack of hospitality, poorly executed dishes, and disregard for reservations made it clear we will not be returning.
