Went for lunch with my husband the restaurant wasn't very busy at the time as it just opened but it was clean and well lit. We were seated quickly in a booth. The staff was very attentive and welcoming. Our waitress was helpful and provided excellent recommendations. We end up trying several of their appetizers and sharing an entree. We ordered the following: - Bacon Fried Veggies: this was my husbands favorite! 10/10. The veggies were very flavorful and cooked well. We would definitely order again. -crispy boa sliders: these were good, 8/10. Them being on a skewer makes it messy to eat as you have to remove them from the skewer to eat. While flavor was good I wasn't a huge fan of the boa being crispy. - corn bread: was cooked well and was very flavorful the pork was tender and I enjoyed the kimchi. 9/10 - bang bang shrimp:5/10 wasn't a fan of the sauce or the breading. It seemed too sweet. - salmon tostada: 7/10- I felt it had to much onion so that really took over the flavor of the dish. Mussels: 10/10, this was my favorite dish! It is large and enough to be a meal. The broth was flavorful and there was a ton of chorizo and mussels. The bread is perfectly toasted. Overall I would try this again. Although Grey Orchard had a soft open a couple of months ago, they held their grand opening on September 9, 2026. The entryway had balloon arches celebrating this grand occasion. In honor of the grand opening, the first 30 people received goodie bags and bottle of wine. According to the hostess, those prizes were given away between 4-5 pm. My friend and I had reservations for 7:30 pm. Grey Orchard is located in Round Rock, TX along IH 35. Grey Orchard is spacious, modern with clean architectural lines. A fairly large bar is anchored in the center of restaurant. The furniture has a modern flare. In addition, they have plenty of free parking. My friend and I both ordered the seared salmon with a succotash. In addition, I ordered the bang bang shrimp and cheesecake with blueberry compote (second blueberry concoction in two weeks...for a person who does not like blueberries, the blueberry God is pushing me more into the like category.) The bang bang shrimp were bang bang good! The tempura was almost invisible with a slight crunchy texture...super flavorful. The salmon had its skin attached seared to a crispy piece goodness. Their email did get me in the door but I don't give dishonest reviews for free stuff. I was seated when the restaurant was about 1/3 full. Took 10 mins to acknowledge me once at the table. I ordered my drink right away which took another 15 mins, our other drink came out 5 mins later (identical drinks but somehow made differently). Drink was decent, would get that again. Our appetizer was never put in but it wasn't on the check either so I gave up on it. Service was very mediocre, again it was far from busy. The staff seemed to not have the hang of things even though there a ton of people working. The managers never even bothered to check on our table, they skipped more than half the tables . The staff unfamiliarity with the menu if you have a food allergy is concerning we ordered a gluten free burger but no one said it came with fries or what type of fries they were. The food came out and there's a giant pile of battered fries (battered fries are a pet peeve of mine). The decor looks good. But it's definitely not a place I would want to linger. We checked out Grey Orchard tonight for their grand opening and I'm really glad we did! We had a reservation and were seated immediately by a friendly, well trained host. Nathan was our server and he was really great. We started with the cornbread, and wow, this was not your typical cornbread! It's topped with miso apple butter and served with pork belly and kimchi. Such an unexpected combination, but everything worked together so well. This is so good! My husband went with the double smash burger and fries, while I ordered the bang bang shrimp with spicy garlic edamame. The edamame wasn't actually spicy. My shrimp came out piping hot and were so good! Crispy, flavorful and exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately, the burger, fries and edamame were cold when they arrived, which was disappointing. Since it's the grand opening, I'm definitely giving them some grace and I'm sure the kitchen will get their timing better. I also have to mention how accessible the restaurant is for wheelchairs. I went for dinner, but it felt like lunch. I decided to try this new spot that just opened right off of i-35. I went in during dinner time. The ambiance is very clean and modern. The host gave me a warm greeting and showed me to my table. The menu isn't huge. I was told by my waiter that this restaurant is a fusion between Asian and Southern cuisine. I felt like I ate lunch vs dinner. Appetizers: Spicy garlic edamame - yummy flavor and it had a slight kick that wasn't over powering. Bang bang shrimp - This was really good. Everything came together beautifully. Entree: Duck banh mi- The duck is cooked using the technique sous vide. I understand why it is cooked this way. Duck isn't a forgiving meat and can be overcooked so easily. This was the perfect cooking method. The duck by itself was so good . There was a sauce on the sandwich. It was very saucy. I made a reservation for 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday so that way we could take advantage of happy hour since it ends at 6:00 p.m.. When I walked in I was greeted and seated immediately by the super friendly hostess. He even shared with me some of the crowd favorite selections from the happy hour menu. The restaurant has such a clean aesthetic and the ambience is bright but intimate still. We sat in a booth along the front windows. There's plenty of seating in the front, around the bar and on the side. We started with the happy hour brussel sprouts and tater tots. The brussel sprouts were super delicious and the elote tater tots were just very different with the corn and cotija cheese. But still good. For dinner I ordered the steak and frites and a side of cucumber salad. It was a good portion of steak and fries and I liked the different sauces that you can pick from. The ginger scallion was my favorite. The cucumber salad was good but just too many onions for me, so I picked around them. Overall it was a great first impression. Our server was attentive and friendly. While service wasn't speedy it was still efficient. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying more delicious things off the menu. The ambiance is appealing, and the service was satisfactory. However, the coffee was of poor quality , and there was no sweetener, only simple syrup. The okra appetizer was original and pretty good. My wife liked it. It wasn't a major favorite for me. My salmon, ordered medium rare came well done and had to be returned. When it came back, the second attempt was barely rare but I'd rather have it that was than dry. However, the squash puree that accompanied and the veggies were excellent and redeemed the improper temp on the protein. And after a few minutes, the warmth of the vegetable base cooked the fish which turned into a nice medium rare. Saved by the clock! The rigatoni was good according to the wife, but be warned, it has a spicy kick! Squares of brown butter cornbread ( topped with apple butter), squares of pork belly ( topped with kimchi) I've had many meals and I have never seen this combination before. Sultry mix of Brussels sprouts , summer squash and zucchini that danced around in the pan with pork belly and then dresses with a Calabrian aioli. I also tried the bang bang shrimp. Brand new restaurant so we were excited to try! Going in, just off the name, I expected American cuisine, so I was surprised by the heavy Asian influence. My initial impression from the outside was that the restaurant could use some work. The curb appeal is definitely lacking. Once we walked inside, though, I loved it. The interior is gorgeous--modern with a minimalist feel, while still incorporating plenty of interesting design elements. The service started off strong. We were greeted warmly, the doors were opened for us, and we immediately felt welcome. Our waitress was super friendly, we did like her but again shocked by something... she's never tried the food. I get it's day 3 but shouldn't the staff be required to sample the food? We ordered the bao buns and the bang bang shrimp as appetizers. Both seemed a little overcooked, but they still tasted good. The biggest disappointment for me was the menu itself. It's very limited, and I was surprised there wasn't a single steak option, wait that's a lie they had steak frites as an option. I even called afterward to ask if it was just a soft-opening menu, but I was told that those are the full offerings. The double smash burger was really good. The bun was soft, the burger was cooked well, and we enjoyed it overall, although it became a little too sweet by the end. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, and unfortunately it was so salty that I couldn't finish it--and I love salt. The bottom bun was also completely soggy. Dessert was another letdown. They only offer one option: a chocolate tart. It was, again, just meh. The graham cracker crust was incredibly hard. It actually cut my gums, and one of the people dining with us had a piece of the crust get caught in her throat. Overall, they did a beautiful job with the interior, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, the limited menu and inconsistent food just weren't enough for us. I left hungry, and there wasn't a single dish that made me think, "I have to come back for that." The couple with us were upset they had Maine Root and not Coke products, he's an avid Dr Pepper drinker. If you stick with Maine Root at least carry the root beer. 3 stars because it's brand new, if this were established I'd give 2 stars. But I do want to see them do well so will follow their journey. I'd like to ask what is supposed to be their star dish, it seemed more like a lunch place serving $16 burgers and chicken sandwiches with again, meh fries. read more

I had been looking forward to their opening for a while. The restaurant itself is beautiful, very clean and minimalist design. Service was great or at least we lucked out with our waitress. The cornbread was interesting, but quite tasty. The steak was a bit gummy and I didn't love the insane amount of Parmesan cheese on top of the fries. The worst part was how sick my friend and I got that night after our meal. We didn't eat any lettuce, but it matched the symptoms to the lettuce parasite sickness. Since we live nearby and we have spent years in the restaurant business, we figured we would give them a couple of months to work through the inevitable opening hiccups before stopping in on a Friday evening around 5 PM. Happy Hour was still in full swing, so expectations were high. The good news? We walked right in with no wait and were seated immediately. The restaurant was clean, fresh, and inviting. The atmosphere was lively, though a bit loud from our spot near the bar. Our server greeted us quickly, and we ordered two cocktails and an HH appetizer of wings. Fifteen minutes later, the wings arrived and they were excellent. The only problem? We still hadn't received our drinks. Despite four bartenders working behind the bar, our cocktails were nowhere to be found. Unfortunately, that was the beginning of the slide downhill. For our entrees, we ordered two sandwiches. Both came with lukewarm fries. The fried fish sandwich was decent enough, but the fried chicken sandwich was downright disappointing. The chicken tender masquerading as the star of the sandwich looked like it had lost a fight with the fryer and never recovered. We didn't take photos because that's just not our style but trust me when I say there wasn't a Michelin-star chef hiding in the kitchen that night. It's a shame, we really what this place to succeed, RR needs better more culinary options! We live only 2 miles away, but we fear that was out last trip to the Orchard... :( read more

We were excited to try this new restaurant and had high hopes based on reviews. We were really disappointed. It took 10 minutes for our waiter to grab our drinks and appetizer order, and 30 minutes later our food and drinks did not arrive. Our waiter came by and said the system had an error and he had to re-enter. It took another 15 minutes to get our food and drinks. My drink that was supposed to be smoked table side was not smoked, and when I got my steak, it was very rare. The waiter did not ask how I wanted it and said the sauce would be on the side, even through it was smothered on top and not to my liking. We barely saw our waiter all night, and when we asked a staff member to see our waiter, we overheard him say "I have 16 other tables, they'll just have to wait like the rest" I had to ask the owner/manager a few times for my food to be recooked and for the check and he was attentive, but we will not be coming back. I understand it's a new restaurant, but when you have a bad experience like that, it's hard to give it another chance. read more

My husbands steak looked liked it had been boiled and my rigatoni looked like a lasagna soup. I will never be back. Very disappointed in the experience my friend and I had, seeing as I was very excited for the opening of this place. Walked in and we were seated by very welcoming staff, but we waited 10 minutes just for someone to serve us water. We waited another 15-20 minutes for our actual server to show up, but no one did. We finally caught the attention of a random server in which we asked her to get our server. Our server comes in about 5 mins. No introduction of who he even was and no "sorry for the wait". Just a, "Y'all are ready to order? What can I get for y'all?" After the order was put in, it took 30 minutes just for 1 of 2 appetizers to come out. About 10 minutes later our entrees come out. We are still missing our other appetizer and let the server know. They bring that appetizer out after. After we finished eating, we tried multiple times to get the attention of our server for to-go boxes and the bill. We finally get his attention and tell him, but he only brings boxes and zooms off before we could even remind him again about the bill. I guess another server noticed us sitting there waiting and asked if we needed the bill, then proceeded to get it for us. Overall, the experience was not great. The food wasn't terrible but nothing outstanding or something I would consider going back for. We did mention our experience to the host in the front. They apologized and stated they would have a discussion with their manager. Another 10mn, 3/4 of the appetizers are already gone when the 2 cocktails finally come out but no wine. Waiter gave an excuse that they are really busy. By this time no one is even at the bar & there's 2 bartenders doing nothing. I finally had to tell our waiter to bring our wine now please! It took OVER 35mn to get an $89 bottle of wine brought to our table. Food was good but I will have to think twice about visiting again. Completely unacceptable to have to wait that long to get just 2 cocktails & a bottle of wine.
