I have been to Good Eats a few times and while the food is always good, I wish the service matched their delicious food. I know it's hard to get good help these days, but when you have a server who literally stops and chats with a table for more than 10 minutes while they have other tables waiting for food or checks as an example, it just makes it hard to keep coming back. read more

First time here. Its part of a stripmall shopping center. Just down from a Pic and Save. Plenty of parking out front. They have a patio area out front with the entrance right in the middle . The space is bright and nicely decorated. Got a spot right in front of some large windows. Arrived right as they opened on a Monday morning. We were the only table, but a few other people came afterwards. Our server (Miguel) got to us right away, waters, menus, and hot beverages. He made me a London Fog which was "okay". (the way they steep their bags interferes with the nice foam). We told him we were not in a hurry, so he left us alone until we needed to order. It was nice to not feel rushed. The menu is extensive with lots of good choices. We ended up ordering a Salmon Frittata, and a standard "Eggs, Bacon, and Toast" plate. It didn't take much time to get our food (the place was kind of dead). It was hot, flavorful, an good portions. I enjoyed the fact that the smoked salmon (lox) was not cooked in the frittata, but place on top, cold. Our server kept showing up to freshen our hot beverages, and ensure everything was good. I stopped here for breakfast just after 7am and the place was mostly empty after just opening so I had the place to my self but people started to trickle in. The place is in a strip mall next to the pick n save with plenty of parking. The place is very nicely done with a nice bar, cozy arm chair sitting area, nice tables and booths and a coffee bean roaster right on the floor. The menu has a nice assortment of breakfast items and drinks so I started with a Bloody Mary which was garnished with a pickle, to olives and a half beef stick and it was very average. I ordered the two eggs with meat, potatoes and sourdough toast. My meat option was the in house smoked ham with house potatoes as my potato choice, I don't know if it's really in house smoked because you don't see that anywhere. My plate looked good but this is another place that only gives one one slice of toast which I think is dumb because breakfast has traditionally been a two slice of toast meal and I like to make toast sandwiches so only one toast sandwich today. The house potatoes were baby reds with Parmesan cheese and they were terrible because they were undercooked and still hard, fail. The sunny side up eggs were perfect. The sourdough toast was average and not the good bakery kind. The in house smoked ham was very thin but it was fork tender and good. Overall it's a nice place for breakfast and my breakfast was ok but nothing spectacular with friendly staff. read more

We took our grandma here for lunch to catch up. I immediately loved the interior design and the comfy chairs to relax in while waiting for a table. I ordered a Bloody Mary, my partner got a cup of the Honduras blend, and grandma got a water. I find it very odd that they don't show the drink prices. This seems a bit sketchy and dishonest to your customers. Having to ask the price of each drink is annoying. For food, I ordered the salmon frittata, partner got the meat lovers hash, and grandma for the elegant chicken salad sandwich with a GF bun. We requested that the sweet potato fries for grandma not have salt, and appreciate the kitchen taking care of us. The salmon frittata was a bit odd. I expected everything to be IN the frittata, but it reality, it was just an egg with everything piled on top. Grandma's chicken sandwich was very difficult to eat, piled so high that you couldn't open your mouth wide enough, and smooshing it down would cause everything to fall out the sides. We loved our server, Alliyah. She was kind, professional, and on top of things. We appreciated her patience with all of our questions and special requests. Food was excellent. Hash browns were heavenly. Ham tasted like it was cooked on maple wood. They roast their own coffee beans and coffee is very good. To look at the face of the restaurant you'd never know that it is a full-menu, cook-to-order restaurant. The restaurant is modern, clean and offers booths, tables and seating at the bar. I don't get this place. Looks great from the outside and the interior was nice, but check out their outside sign. Looks left over from years ago. They got the BLT wrong and I had to get up to find the sever to have it redone, she dropped off the plate then disappeared as a sat there. I got terrible, hard, cold, chewy bacon on that BLT. What the heck! My partners hash browns were good. Pancakes just okay, and luke warm coffee. I don't get it, the coffee was luke warm. Maybe because it was after the breakfast rush but come on... make a fresh pot. Funny asking for a warm up and it didn't... warm anything up. I rarely get up for service, but after sitting for a long time, I had to get up again to find the server so I could pay the check and get the heck out of there. We both enjoyed the flavorful veggie hash. Poached eggs done perfectly. I would also recommend a side of their thick bacon. The pumpkin pancakes were okay but the pecans were too salty. They roast their own coffee beans, but use a fully automatic espresso machine, which I personally think it takes away from a craft experience. Maybe baristas are hard to find in the area and it's the best way to have consistency. The Americano and coffee is somewhat bitter and leaves an aftertaste. Service was pleasant but they never checked back after delivering the food and I had to ask for something more to drink after finishing my americano. Once I had a coffee, someone did come around to offer a refill. Upon leaving the staff wished us a nice day as walked out. :) The bathroom was is fairly clean and without odor however I was really thrown off by seeing a fly strip hanging from the ceiling. For us, the location being adjacent to a pick and save grocery store is not very desirable. They may want to rethink their choice of signage. They also serve beer and liquor. It done nicely, but doesn't seem to fit. I can't see us ever going there to have a beer, wine or cocktail. We may go back for the veggie hash at some point, but unfortunately not high on our list. read more

The place was well decorated and the staff was very nice. The food came out surprisingly quick but we soon learned why. I came with my mom and sister and we all had poached eggs (sweet potato waffle, chef's hash and salmon Benedict) and the food left much to be desired. The eggs were entirely overcooked, there was shells in our poached eggs, and overall the food was not well seasoned at all (sweet potato waffle came with a drizzle of pesto and not much else, the salmon tasted plain). Even the drip coffee was bitter and that came from someone who works at a coffee shop (not Starbucks). The saving grace was the cinnamon beignets but we all decided we would not come back because of the food. (And after reading the reviews we were sad that we didn't get the same experience as others in the food quality) Edit: the waiter did take the coffee off our bill because of the shell, again the staff was so great. read more

I am surprised by all the bad reviews. Good Eats is a breakfast and lunch cafe tucked into a stripped mall in Pewaukee. It's not much to look at from the outside but step inside, and it's a bright inviting space with decor modern decor. They have a bar area and a good dining space. I've never had to wait to be seated, which is a plus in my book. They have a generous sized breakfast and lunch menu. Plenty of your standard breakfast fare like pancakes, skillets, and omelets. For lunch, they have salads, sandwiches, and burgers. I haven't tried any of the lunch options, only breakfast. Overall, I have enjoyed all of my breakfast here. On my most recent visit, I had the salmon fritatta with avocado and fruit on the side. Everything was cooked well and tasted great. My dining companion ordered the salmon bagel and a yogurt with fruit parfait. I sampled the parfait; it was a large serving that tasted great. On all of our visits, the service has been very pleasant. We are seated right away, and someone is there to take our order in no time. On this particular occasion, we sat at the bar, and the server was pretty busy, but she was very nice and attentive to us as well as everyone she was helping that day. Overall, I've enjoyed my breakfast experiences at Good Eats. With so few breakfast options in the area, it's nice to have Good Eats so close. read more

The food was fresh and tasty, it was obvious the cooks knew how to cook an omelette mine was very good but small in comparison to other breakfast places. The service was slow, we ate at the bar, because there was a wait for a table. The bartender was so slow, it was by a stroke of luck a waitress saw us not getting served and stepped up to help, us only to be chastised by the bartender who was upset by that. I'm not a fan for bickering employees in front or the customers. (Take it in back) We sat for 15 minutes before we even got a menu, only because we had to ask for it. Good Eats has been on my list for awhile, but I always seem to forget about them and go to my regular places when we go out for breakfast. We were up early today with the little one and figured we could use some coffee and food, but didn't feel like driving too far. I was scrolling through IG and Good Eats popped up and we were close by. They open up at 7, which is perfect for those of us that are up early. It wasn't too busy yet when we got there. This used to be a Chinese buffet long time ago and they did a nice job of renovating the space. There is a mixture of tables and booths and a full coffee bar. I'm loving that so many breakfast places are now including a coffee bar. I got the Horchata coffee drink and it was well balanced with the right amount of cinnamon. I like that they will show you on an iPad the specials; I'm definitely a visual person. I ended up going with the croissant sandwich with a side of fresh fruit. Hubs got the breakfast burrito and upgraded to the hash browns. First the sandwich was huge and the fruit was fresh. But those hash browns. You all know I love my hash browns and it's so hard to find decent hash browns at restaurants now a days; everyone is doing breakfast potatoes.I could make a meal out of those, they were crispy on the outside; you can definitely tell they are cooked in butter. Stumbled across this cafe after church and surprised me! It's tucked away in a shopping center so doesn't look too appealing at first site. Once inside it's a different feel. Ver friendly servers, it was my first time there and the bartender was very patient with me and gave good recommendations. They have a coffee bar and regular bar. Food was good and coffee was good! I also saw the owner walking around and talking with the guests which I really like to see. He stopped by and talk with me which I thought was exceptional customer service. I'm partially blaming the 3-star review on my ordering as I was eyeing up several items on the menu & maybe just didn't like what I ended up with. My sister ordered the same entree & we both joked that we ordered artwork...not food haha. Very pretty, but we were both starving 30 minutes later which is a bummer for a $14 meal. A friend and I stopped for lunch on a Thursday. It was not crazy busy, we were seated immediately. The café is nicely decorated and clean. Our food was very good. Unfortunately our service was very poor. We ordered drinks, an ice water and an iced coffee, almost 10 minutes later we got an ice water and an iced tea. When our server brought back our corrected drinks and took our order, we told him we wanted separate checks. Our food came in a timely manner. Our original server was not the person that delivered our food so of course I had to let him know I had ordered a side of ranch dressing for my sandwich. We were not asked if we wanted refills of drinks by either server. The original server finally came by and asked if we wanted a container for leftovers after the secondary server had already asked. It was the secondary server that brought the containers. It was the original server that brought our check, of course, probably because of the tip. However, he did not split the checks as originally requested when we ordered our food. So he had to go back and get that taken care of. I decided on my way home that I would go back for the food. When I pay the bill next time, I will definitely be thinking hard about how much I'm going to tip for the service I did or did not receive. read more

We were excited to try this place as we had heard good things. Unfortunately, it didn't really meet expectations. We arrived just before 9am on a Saturday and it was about a third full. The good: - coffee was flavorful - good portions - beignets were a fun treat The not so good: - we waited 10+ mins before anyone came to our table to get our drink order and then another 10 mins to get said drinks. More of the same with food orders. Was surprised at some of the reviews from several months ago, perhaps it was growing pains but I went this past weekend and everything was great! Seems like COVID measures definitely being taken seriously, food was really good and served on warmed plates (don't find that at many places these days), and service was excellent. Been meaning to go for a while, since it's in a strip mall between Pick n Save and Walmart - close to Casa Tequila which we have been to and is also good. The only drawback, styrofoam - come on people! Styrofoam is not degradable - let's save ourselves by not contributing to trash heaps that don't breakdown. Had breakfast with my sisters yesterday. First, the dining area is big, but not noisy. We were seated immediately and had great service. The Pumpkin Waffle and Pancakes are delicious.
