I tried out GDC for the first time this past weekend. I ordered the sourdough and jam and an iced cold brew with milk, and it took around 15-20 minutes for it to arrive. We sat outside in the patio space, which is nice, but the inside where ordering takes place can quickly become crowded and confusing on where to stand to not be in the way. The food itself was good, but we received 4 small pieces of sourdough bread...I've never seen such small pieces of sourdough! Just didn't meet my expectations I suppose, but maybe it was a smaller serving than usual, given that we still received a large amount of jam accompaniment alongside it. Shoutout to our server, Charlie, who was very clear on our drink order recipients and friendly. Small tweaks could have made this experience a little better. read more

Green Door has very high quality localvore, well curated, farm to table refined cuisine. Ordering in one building and dining in the adjacent building is reminiscent of a bistro in France, a trattoria in Italy....even better sitting outdoors recently was very pleasant. What a lovely little store! The ambiance is very cute, there is a few seats inside, but the real beauty is outside, there is a front area (perfect for people watching) and a rear area that has a gazebo, flowers and plenty of seating arrangements. The staff was wonderful. Very kind and helpful! I had the mushroom toast, taste wise it was really interesting! It was hot (I don't know why I assumed it would be cold toast like avocado toast) very cheese heavy, but if you like cheese, this is your toast! Side of arugula salad, was yummy! Perfect amount of dressing! I also had the matcha, which sadly wasn't so great. It was mostly milk, I could hardly taste the matcha, it also had so much ice I had to fight to get the straw in. First visit--and definitely not the last! Stopped into The Back Door Café for the first time and was blown away. I had the breakfast burrito (yes, even at lunchtime!) and it was absolutely phenomenal--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly filling. The coffee was just as impressive: rich, smooth, and a perfect complement to the meal. Huge kudos to Chef Dayn--his passion and creativity come through in every bite. I live only three blocks away from Green Door Cafe and I have walked past it a hundred times and never stopped in. So I decided to walk over and try their food. I am very glad I did. I was greeted by the woman behind the counter and I told her it was my first visit. She very graciously walked me through the menu. I ordered the tuna wrap which comes with a nice salad. They brought it out to me on the patio out back which is a beautiful garden. The food was excellent. I'll definitely be back. read more

Service was adequate since you place the order and pay up front so the only service needed was having our food brought to the table. For ambiance I would give the place a 1. The inside is very small with one table (2 chairs) and a high bar with 5 bar stools looking out the window. The kitchen is open to the one table. Bathroom is right next to the table with no lock. Had an amazing time at the Green Door Cafe for my Mother's birthday. The lady who took our order seriously was one of the kindest people ever. She was recommending the egg sandwich as well as the salads and breakfast burrito and also informing us on the history of the cafe. We sat out back on their beautiful patio. Once we had the food it was OVER. The green goddess sauce that was on both the toast and the burrito was so amazing. A restaurant treasure find ! Had a fabulous lunch at this tiny spot near the post office in Delafield. Sat at a 2-person table inside; they were newly open, and did not have chairs at the window high-top. They provide mostly take-out orders, as they do not have much seating inside. Food is amazingly delicious ! Though the menu is limited, all is worth going there. I'd say it is a healthy choice. The experience of this shop's food is delightful. The service by the woman manning the counter area was terrific. She was so pleasant and helpful in making our food choices. There was a happy vibe going on in this little nook with the workers, and the patrons who came in. Definitely will return, and have told many friends about it already. read more

I am gluten free and i've never had a gluten free crepe and oh my gosh!!!! I got the Crepe Benedict and it was phenomenal. I also got the Asian Pear salad and it seriously is my new favorite salad, I think about it often. The food tasted fresh and didn't upset my stomach and therefore felt like good quality ingredients (which based on their website and mission statement makes sense). I cannot wait to try more menu items. Service over the phone was great and efficient, the woman I spoke to was VERY kind to me mentioning my gluten allergy. Food was ready in 15min. Wow!! what a nice addition to the restaurant selection in Delafield. The nicest lunch we have had in a long time. Not alot of room to sit inside but it was a beautiful day and we ate outside along the shaded sidewalk. If its weather unfavorable it might be better to consider take out.
