Came in to pick up cargo shorts for my husband that I ordered a couple of weeks ago. We left with a new set of Taylormade clubs for the hubby. Sales guy was awesome...very knowledgable and informative. Once my husband narrowed his choice down to 2 sets, the sale guy offered to let us try them out. Hybrid or steel? We decided on hybrids. Cashier is a sweetheart. I had an expired coupon (by a couple days) she went beyond and got approval from her manager to accept the discount. Golfsmith somehow always seems to be low in stock. I never really find what I'm looking for. If I want a stiff shafted (steady everyone) 16 degree Cobra hybrid baffler, they never seem to have it. They seem to be stock full of certain manufacturers. They are full of TaylorMade and Callaway clubs. But I play Titleists and Cobras, and the stock they have there is rather poor. But if you're looking for accesories, shoes or training aids, Golfsmith is the right place to go. Their trump card or best advantage is that they have a club repair guy there. So if you're looking to change shafts, grips, lofts and lies, not only do they have the people to do it but the equipment. I usually buy my equipment on ebay or at Roger Dunn, but Golfsmith have great deals too. One problem is that some sales don't apply to the best manufacturers. Had a great experience here the other day. I brought in my new set of irons (first ones in 12 years) and I needed the works (lie adjusted, lengthen, & new grips). The guys were more than accommodating and really went over the top. They took me over to the simulator, had me take a couple of cuts, and even made suggestions based on my swing and on my previous clubs. They measured my lie twice just to make sure it was correct. I wanted to ask a few questions about the club extending process, they took the time to explain how everything works and even extended one club just so I understood how it works. They didn't promise a quick turn around on all 9 clubs but gave me a reasonable time table (3 days). I'm okay with waiting a little longer just to make sure everything is right. read more

Shopped here today to buy my boyfriend a Taylormade hat and putter. It was not busy so I was suprised no one approached us. I had to go find someone to ask about the 50% Trade in deal, he answered my question and turned away. I wanted to spend money but no one acted the salesman. I wanted a salesman to guide me to buy stuff, no one tried! It got worse at the register. We put our stuff down and the associate grabbed it, no eye contact or verbal communication and walked to a different register without guiding us. We had to ask to follow. Very strange. So this place use to be Golfsmith and is now Golf Galaxy. I use to frequent Gsmith about once a month, but I havent been to the transformation of G Galaxy until today 5-5-18. I was going in there to get a regrip on my 3 wood and possibly purchase a 5 wood. I was greeted very professionally as I told the container guy I needed a regrip. He stated that Kevin could help me and by all means he did. Mentioning to Kevin I also wanted to demo a 5 wood he went above and beyond what all the other customer service guys did when it was G smith. Kevin not only helped me with the demo but also helped me adjust my swing with the club. Kevin knows what hes talking about and he will do it with a smile and a lot of enthusiasm. So weekend warriors if you guys need any assistance with your golfing needs, ask for Kevin and he will hook you up! read more

The arguing between the employees was uncomfortable and it reflected in being rude to the customers(my boyfriend and I) as well.

I ordered a new complete set of Cobra F-Max clubs online. 10 days later the set shows up with no Driver, I call customer service and am told they can't do anything, it is the responsibility of a different department, and I will be contacted within 48 hours. 5 days later after not receiving any contact, I call them back, and they tell me there is nothing that they can do, that I must return the clubs, and wait up to 30 days for the money to be refunded to my credit card. The most rude customer service I have ever encountered, I will never do business with this company again!!!! read more

This one is much smaller from the Cerritos Store, but the staff are just as nice and helpful. THE store does look overwhelmingly tight filled too many equipment for such a small store. They do have a virtual driving range to let you try out the club's and gives you and opportunity to check how you're hitting. When they do have sales the sales prices are unbeatable. read more

This Golf Galaxy is the worst. I've been to many Golf Galaxies and this one by far is the worst one I've seen and dealt with. Went in to get a driver fitting and went to the bay to get fit. The older gentleman with glasses was busy talking to a customer who by all accounts was just browsing and wasn't going to buy any of the more high end expensive used drivers he was looking at. But the older gentleman customer representative kept gabbing it up with this guy who was basically there to browse. I'm a serious golfer, I know when I'm seeing someone committed to buying equipment and one who is merely there to shoot the sh**. So before I go any further I want to inform the crowd reading this that I was wearing camo dickie cargo shorts, a Sublime band shirt, some vans shoes and a Harley Davidson hat. So I'm pretty sure this idiot salesman didn't think I was there to spend money based on looks. At this point standing there listening to this salesman speak up a sale that wasn't going to happen, So to get this dude's attention I pick up the new Titleist driving iron and smash a ball in the bay. The guy stops talking to the obvious non sale he was working on and tells me, "Umm you can't be in there without someone in there with you." So I look at him and say "well I'm here to spend some money, are here to make some F***in money or stand there and talk?" So the obvious non sale sees his exit and leaves. Then the salesman asks what I'm there to look for. So I tell him I'm there for a driver fitting, and he asks what driver I'm there for, so I inform him. So then he lets me know I only get to hit half a dozen balls and that's it. Half a dozen balls for a fitting?!?! So anyhow, the particular driver I'm after today comes with three shaft options, so I ask to try each one and this dipsh**t tells me that the only shaft that is available is the one that it comes with and there are no other options. Then he tries to up-sale me on a Ping. Then when I told him I'm not here for a Ping and that I already play Titleist's latest and greatest and that I'm here for a particular driver that I'm using only temporarily for after surgery physical therapy and will switch back to my gaming set once I'm healed, he asks, well have you had a fitting before? Like nah man, I spent thousands of dollars to not get fit! Drove me crazy! At this point I was hot as fire. I took my half dozen shots while he critiques my swing with his short fat donut eating barrel ass. After that I said F**k it and left the guy at the bay and went to go buy some necessities I needed for my next round. While I'm doing this, the same idiot from the bay, walks up to my wife in a different part of the store and asks her what she is doing there and tells her she has been in the store awhile and hasn't bought anything. So she informed him she was there with her husband and was browsing while I had what was supposed to be a driver fitting and purchase. We didn't come into the store with typical golf gear right off the course so I'm quite sure this guy judged us based on our clothing selection. Because as you know, clothing selection shows the type of money you have in your bank account. NOT!! So anyhow I bought my necessities in the other departments and I spent way over what that driver cost. So the guy could have made a big driver sale today along with the items I purchased as well, but opted to be a judgmental pile of garbage. And because I was so burnt at what just happened I forgot to purchase the 16 Super Stroke Traxion grips I was there to buy as well. Just ridiculous. I'm a serious golfer and have had a pretty serious fitting for my serious set by a serious fitter in Broomfield CO. Which by the way is the best Golf Galaxy there is. Just avoid this Pasadena Golf Galaxy. They need to shut it down because it's obvious they don't want to do business with anyone that has money. read more

I've been here a few times before to buy items and just to inqurie. All experiences have been pretty poor. Today I went in to trade in my club since they have their 50% bonus trade in. I knew they'd try to low ball so I did my homeowork on Golfmsith.com and learned that Excellent condition is worth $38 and their definition is "These clubs have been gently played but are extremely clean and near new with only slight signs of wear. Should have few, if any, nicks, marks, or scratches on head or shaft and any wear will be faint and mild.." My club easily matches the descriptiona and worst case scenario was in "Very Good" condition according to their standards. I walk to the counter and present my club. First, the girl who was very helpful took a look over came the sales man whose opening question was "are you going to buy a club?" I answered yes and he went on to say "It's worth $27" I told him I disagreed and he brought over his manager who continued with the same low balling and said that he only pays excellent condition for clubs that are still wrapped. That is when I got upset.. now I don't know of many people who play clubs still wrapped. I asked him how many people do that and that's when the holes in his argument began to show. I asked him to pull up Golfmsiths definition of excellent and read it out loud with him in front of the other staff and that's when he began to come up with his BS on the fly and succeeded in not only contradicting himself but just looking plain stupid. Finally, he then asked "wait, are you going to buy a club?" I told him I was but not after all of this BS. After a few more minutes of him coming up with BS on the fly he finally said "Okay, I surrender I'll pay you the excellent condition plus an additional 50% becuase of the bonus." This guy really tried to go back on what he was saying and finally offer me WHAT I ORIGINALLY WANTED!" What happened to your story buddy or were you just trying to low ball me? I was already too pissed off. This guy tried to low ball me and be a smartass about it which failed because I shot down all of his reasons and in the end he wound up offering me what I want. I didn't want to give them my business after dealing with crap so I turned it down. Don't come here. Honestly, everything is far far over priced. The club that I was trading in was on their floor for $90. I bought it origianlly for $45. Don't waste your time. No one here knows anything about sales or service and their golf knowledge is crappy at that. I've only gone because of how close it was to me but I won't be going back. I have had nothing but bad experiences at Golfsmith. I started playing golf about nine months ago, so I've needed to buy quite a bit of stuff. I inherited a fantastic set of clubs. However, I needed shoes, outfits, new grips, etc. First of all, they have had the exact same selection of hokey, cheesy women's clothing since I first set foot in the store nine months ago. Not one new item has been added to their stock. They offer a fanciful selection of cow-print skorts and horribly printed over-priced old-lady tops. I've mentioned this to several "caddies" who just say "I know" and scuttle away. About a month ago, I went into the store to see if they had a specific lady's grip. I spoke with a caddie who checked their stock and said that they definitely had the grips I wanted in stock. The next day, I brought in my clubs only to find out that they did not have them in stock. The caddie suggested another style of grip. I said that I wanted the ones that I had checked on to which he replied, "Don't you think I know more about grips than you do?" I told him that my instructor told me to get the grips that I had requested and asked if he could order them for me. He told me that they don't do special orders, but I was free to order them from their website. He then just walked away. Finally, I went in yesterday to purchase three basic items. A new glove, a club-cleaning brush, and a rule book. I found the brush easily. They did not have the glove I wanted in my size (medium), but they had plenty of tacky, crystal-embellished, $30 ones, though. The kicker, however, was they were out of rule books. Again I was told I could order them online. I'm all for ordering online, really. What I don't like, though, is paying $5+ for shipping on a $20 order. I fully understand that it's a challenge to find a decent selection of women's golf equipment. I just find of offensive when I am constantly barraged with emails and catalogs touting both Golfsmith's in-store and online selection only to find the latter available. read more

This place is so freaking inconsistent. 1. Once bought a used driver and the guy helping me was great. Let me take some hacks with it to make sure I was satisfied. 2. Went in to get fitted for new irons and one of the employees told me to give him a quick second and he would help me out. 20 minutes later he's helping someone else and then someone else takes over the fitting area. I walk out and buy my irons at Dicks. Went in a few weeks later with my buddy and while there let the manager know what happened. He was more interested in finding out who it was than apologizing to me. Whatever. 3. Went it to get some clubs regripped. Dude was cool and helpful no complaints. 4. Went in to trade in a club in almost new condition because online the sheet they produce has it valued higher than Dicks. Guy tells me it's worth half of what the sheet said for excellent condition club. He mentions to me they only pay out as if all clubs are in good condition and ignore the other numbers. Then why do you F'ing bother showing me the other numbers then! I swear that's the straw that broke the camels back. Gonna do everything I can to avoid having to go there ever again. I heard Internal Golf Discount down the street is pretty cool. Gonna check them out and buy all my needs for my Pebble trip that's coming up. read more

This is the first decent shop which I have found in our neighborhood since I moved to Pasadena one month ago. The store keeps a rich assortment of goods in stock, although I could hardly find the right size of pants/skirt for myself as to some of the golf wear brands. I went in the shop just for window shopping initially, but I ended up buying two Nike skirts with inner short pants. Actually, the price was not so attractive, but I love the design and quality of Nike brand anyways. So, I will certainly lose nothing by choosing this maker. I also bought a glove. I have been searching for thinly-made golf glove for ages, and I finally found the perfect one at this shop. I bought Foot Joy's cool glove which looks like a mesh make. I can replace this with my old sweaty glove at last. Yay! read more

Took my Nike Covert Tour Driver and 3 Hybrid to trade-in and just because of some very minor cosmetic flaws, the rep said they couldn't take my clubs. Roger Dunn Vs Golf Smith Vs Golf International Well, if you are Asian and you need shoes, Golf International is the place to go. The have all the small sizes and even in 2E to 3E. If you are not Asian, then No big deal. Most of the guys that work there are very knowledgeable. Problem is, there's too much to choose! In the past, you were encouraged to hang out there and test whatever. You can get the computer analysis all day long. Now, you have to pay $20 and they only want you to hit a few balls. I guess that makes sense since you could be wasting they time. Good news, it does go to your purchase within 30 days. My daughter and I would hang out putting for 30-40 mins at a time just to wait for our movie to start or waiting for mom to get off from school. They don't make a big deal if she is hacking away. Thumbs up! I don't have many bad things to say since most of my experience has been awesome. Now that Dick's Sporting goods in near by, I am curious to see how this will affect this store. read more

Great place for golfers. Jeff took nearly an hour and a half to find my driver and dial it in for me. Never felt rushed to decide and hit half a dozen different sticks. Never tried to upsell me and I actually got the cheaper of the two new big Berthas. Played it today and crushed it off the tee. Much better than the new Nike covert. Kudos to the staff at this store. This is the worst golf store I have ever been to. If you looking to get ripped off by people who aren't really that interested in helping you this is your place. The only reason I gave it one star because there was no option to get it no stars. The website advertises free fitting so I went in looking to buy a set of irons and driver's but wanted to know what the correct club size would be for me as I am bigger guy. They told me to come back or to make an appointment when there was a fitter, even though the website says just drop on by.I told them I didn't have any experience with golf and just ask if they could tell me if I should go a standard size clubs or if I need a bigger clubs. They told me in order to tell me that I would have to pay them $50.
