My husband is an avid golfer and needed a go to golf store, especially since he's just now getting back into the game again. This place is closest and every single time he has left more and more disappointed with the employees here. The first time he was trying to buy a used set of clubs. They refused to cut him any kind of deal whatsoever or try to help someone out who was trying to get back into the game at the time. That's okay because he got the same exact set, brand new for less money elsewhere. The most recent visit entailed my husband wanted to test out a driver. One employee said okay and walked to the back as if to completely ignore my husband. Frustrated, he walked to the back and the gentleman rudely told my husband that he was now working in the back so he had to ask someone else. The man working in front was talking to a friend, not a customer. When my husband realized this he politely interrupted and asked again if he could test a driver. He said "I'm with a customer right now". My husbands exact words were "you guys suck" and he walked right out. These employees and sadly, ill assume that one of them was a manager, seem to know very little about golf and know even less about customer service. Keep employing these kinds of people and you are going to continue to lose customers and even more money. Save yourself the trouble and go to Roger Dunn. Terrible policy regarding access to hitting bays. They're just hitting bays guys not sure why you treat them with such restrictions and fees. Get over it... guys like to tinker and experiment. You don't need a PhD to see if you like a clubs feel and shit shape better. I definitely won't ever go to this Golf Galaxy again. I went in last week to try out a few TaylorMade irons that I've been looking to purchase. I asked John if I could try them out with a few hits in the back. He then proceeded to ask if I was going to buy them right away. I explained that I was going to very soon, but wanted to try out a few and feel them out. Instead of letting me try out $1000+ clubs before I buy them, he tells me that if I'm not buying them right away, that it's "not worth his time." I've just about had it, the indifference that the staff has towards the customers is unbelievable. I tried to get a shaft fixed by them and have it done by Saturday and the guy I spoke with could really care less. I called the location in upland and they were way more accommodating than this place. I happened to pass by Roger Dunn on my way and not only are they able to fix my shaft the next day! But it's going to be half the price for the same equipment. I've been needing new clubs for quite some time anyway so I just bought a pre-owned set with a 90 day return policy from Chris (Talk to Chris he's super nice!). First off, Matt helped me out and was very helpful in selecting a hybrid to bridge my gap between driver and irons. He showed me a few options which completely differed from what I had in mind coming in. I was hitting a few different hybrids as Matt worked with other individuals, and another employee came by to tell me my time was up. When I asked the name of the gentleman who was helping me was (MATT), this other employee was very rude and basically told me "idk but he forgot about you". This guy was completely trash and has no business working at a golf store. Completely drives people away from an already difficult sport. I've had my clubs re-gripped here without incident, but after getting my brand new driving iron re-shafted, and then having that driving iron fly off the shaft at the driving range a mere 2 months later, and then searching the driving range for 10 minutes in vain while 100 impatient golfers heckled me, annoyed, I can say I won't be getting any more service performed at this spot in the future. I'll leave my clubs in more capable hands from now on. Bummed, because otherwise, the experience was relatively positive, but I spent a lot of money on that club, and I loved playing with it, and unless the range calls me and tells me they found it, it's gone. Burned money. The adapter came clean off the shaft, leaving only a dry streak of poorly applied glue behind. read more

Best customer service! My frIend was looking for some new clubs and shoes so I yelped for golf shops in the area. I've seen and heard of Golf Smith and suggested that we give this place a try. He was able to find these cute puma golf shoes and was having fun hitting couple balls in their virtual practice area. I would go back for some cute golf skorts that were on clearance. Great selection when I saw the sales rack area! It was a bit disappointing that they only carry a small selection of women's golf shoes. At the register, he asked for any eligible discounts and they offered an extra 20% because he had over $125 worth of merchandise. Doesn't hurt to ask! I went to the store today to pick up a couple of gloves. I am a lefty and need a glove for my right hand. At first I couldn't find any right handed gloves, though gloves for the left hand were well stocked with two entire rows dedicated to them. I asked an employee and was directed to a different location where I found just a few gloves and many sizes/brands out of stock. Obviously they are not interested in my business and I will oblige them by no longer shopping in their store. Of note, women's sizes were similarly in low supply. read more

Seems to be a lot of bad reviews, but my experiences with Golfsmith have always been decent. Maybe that's because I don't ever ask for help and I just go in and get what I need and get out! The only reason why I come to this location was that it is close to my house. But the staff and the managers are condescending and incompetent. I went in to purchase a driver and some woods. And took my old clubs in to trade because of an advertised 150% bonus. First thing a staff said was like 'omg this thing is ancient you will get nothing for this.' And then the other staff and manager chimes in, 'oh this thing is full of blemishes' and etc. Ok clowns, it has blemishes because I use it to play golf for years and it's old that's why I am trading it in for new ones! Ok so after being insulted by multiple staff members it turns out I cannot be given the trade in bonus for the new clubs. Fine, whatever, give me 75% of the book value. Alright onto the simulator bay to try the clubs and I ask the salesman some advice such as what loft is better for my swing etc. 'you don't need to change anything you are hitting it fine.' And 'oh btw none of the coupons will work for your purchase.' Spent one minute standing there then disappeared for the rest of my time at the simulator. Wow, they sure make a customer who was dropping close to $1k for golf equipment feel special. I sucked it up - ended up buying the equipment because I had my heart set on going home with new clubs that day. But seriously folks, take your business elsewhere. read more

Overall the staff is pretty good. However, there's an associate Issac who has no clue about customer service. He was so anxious to find every way to not allow me to return a brand new putter, a $400 Scotty Cameron. Isaac didn't even know how to select the right putter cover when I exchanged it for another model. He was argumentative with me every step of the way trying to justify his mistake. He didn't even apologize. Yup, you bet, I was demonstrably angry. I talked to the store manager the next day and he seemed like he was empathetic but it required another visit to the store to show him the receipts (too complicated to explain). Who has the time? I should have been offered an accommodation over the phone, like a $20 dollar gift card. It would have taken out the bad taste left in my mouth. A bad apple can spoil a brand and a store's reputation. For the slightest mistake at Starbucks, I get a $4 gift card. If you patronize this store, hopefully your service experience will be better. Their prices are high end retail, I'm sure you can easily find lower prices elsewhere. I asked about a price matching guarantee policy like offered at Dick's. I drove out to Pasadena to see the place. It's really a tiny store about 1/3 the size goldsmith used to be. Everything was marked super high retail prices and there were zero left handed inventory. Not even a single LH fairway wood to try. Okay. I get it. I'm left handed, but it's 2021! I feel like it's 1998 and I need to build my own clubs! Next time I'm going back to Roger Dunn's. The ONLY real brick & mortar store left in the LA area with whole sets of LH irons. I shan't be returning to the Galaxy. It's more like a deserted asteroid belt than a galaxy! read more

Good afternoon, To whom it may concern, I am writing to you as a very upset and irritated customer. I have been to this store several times and I will no longer be doing business here once I collect my club post re-grip. I was treated so poorly today and I'm so shocked that this type of behavior is even acceptable in this store. When I came into the store, there was a young woman at the front doing her re-stock duties. As I have been to this store several times, I know my way around the place and did not require her assistance. However, once she became aware some one walked passed her, she quickly caught my attention with a very rude "Hey, can I help you?" as if I had walked into her home uninvited. I told her I was just in for a regrip and to pick up my club from last week. She then responded with "you need to leave your club head at the front" with no explanation as to why. So I replied "really?" and she did not respond, but a man in a track suit wearing tacky jewelry who had - for a lack better words - crept up behind me with attitude and responded "yea, ya do" also with no reason as to why. He then takes over the situation and ask "so what do you want?" and it took everything in me to not have an attitude back. I told him I wanted to regrip my putter and he takes my putter from me - I want to be clear I DID NOT HAND IT TO HIM - and walks me to the regrip station. He says to me before walking behind the counter "you got these and you got these, pick what you want and let me know." Never once did he ask what I was looking for in a grip, what size, if I knew how they worked - absolutely nothing. So I looked through the grips and couldn't find what I was looking for - which is the Dodgers Super Stroke Putter Grip which I can buy for $35. I asked him "Can you guys do a special order and install or no?" to which he replied "if we don't carry it then nah, maybe, it just depends" and he starts to log onto his computer as I tell him what I want and he stops and says "Nah we don't do that. You can order and bring it back and I'll charge your for install but that's it." So I said "Fine, I'll do that then and I'll order it and bring it back" to which he replied "Well I already stripped your grip so you gotta buy one." I looked him dead in the face and asked him "who told you to strip my grip if I never picked a grip out to replace it with? And why would I buy a grip that I don't like?" He grabbed a generic grip and reapplied it, then walked me back to the counter up front. Got behind the cash register as if he was about to charge me for a grip when I looked at him and said "ummm" - we both paused, he grabbed my head cover and handed me my club. I have never walked out of a store more pissed off than I did today. I don't often get frustrated with people in customer service having been in the same line for nearly 15years BUT today your man was trying to test my patience. That store still has my 5i and I will go pick it up tomorrow, BUT I had to share with you as a customer how absolutely pissed off I am at my experience today. - Greeted poorly - Approached aggressively - No explanations to procedures - Club taken, not handed - No explanations to grips; size, use, benefits, cost - No agreement to purchasing a grip and stripped grip without acknowledgment Absolutely disgusted in the way I was treated today. read more

Really disappointed with Golf Galaxy. I picked up my Big Bertha today after getting it re-shafted and discovered at the range that it was done wrong. Ther ferrule wasn't epoxyed and the head wasn't completely secured (screwed in). The shaft was rotating. I took the driver back to the shop about an hour ago. The manager was extremely disappointed and upset because it was a shoddy job and told me it won't happen again because he was going to do it himself. Last time I re-shafted my driver they were under Golfsmith and the work was done beautifully. I love going to golf galaxy since it's close to the house, but after this incident, I think I will be taking my business to Roger Dunn in North Hollywood. I love my equipment and invested good money over the years for it, and do my best to take care of it. It's sad that a business like golf galaxy can't do the same when they are entrusted with others equipment. I'm high school golf coach and sent one of my players there to get some grips. Dad and son loved the experience and customer services. Too bad they couldn't take care of the coach the same way as I have referred my players to them for the equipment and accessories in the past. read more

I had about 2k dollars worth of gear at the check stand and my wife was still looking for more stuff. We are new at golfing and was getting a complete set of Ping G LE2 with driver, bag and all the accessories including clothing for my wife. I was looking for inexpensive ball, because we're new, and a store clerk ask me, with agitation, if I needed help. I said yeah, I a.........and then he told me it will have to wait, he's helping someone els and oh by the way, we closed 10 minutes ago. I was like, ok, I'll wait. Then when he's finished with the other person, he comes over to me and was like, ok what do you need. I showed him a picture of what I was looking for and he says, oh, you want refurbished balls, in a dick head tone. So he showed me them and was like, how many do need, with total aggravation in his voice. I told him, you know what, I can get them myself, I see you're a bit impatient. He went, well..........then I said, I know, you closed 10 minutes ago. Then I told him, look around, I'm not the last one here. Then I said, fuck this, I'm out. I yelled across the store to my wife, who was still looking for more clothing to buy, and said lets go. I don't know his name but it wasn't Brad. I work in the area and frequent this place. I will admit more often than not I come in to check out the latest and greatest. Get a re-grip here and there. Test hit a few and then leave. However, today was a different story. After a round at Brookside, we came in with my friend (with an intent to buy), who is in the market for a driver. Went over to the demo section and picked up the Callaway Rouge and proceeded to swung a bit in the stall area. A older gentleman quickly came running and asked if we played golf (this was already somewhat insulting). I said yes, and that my friend was looking to buy a driver. The sales guy proceed to say the area was for fittings only. He did let my friend hit a couple of drivers with the machine that picks up distance, speed, etc... I guess you're only allotted a certain amount of time to test certain amount of clubs... Then another guy came and said that they offer $ package for fittings. And how the area is only allotted for "this number of people" and that our testing time was over. ie hurry up and buy or leave Well excuse us. My friend couldn't make up her mind between the M4 or the GBB Epic and its shafts. read more

I went into the store prepared to buy a new set of clubs. I had done my research knew what I wanted. I input my old set onto their website to determine their trade in value. Upon arriving at the store the salesman took my clubs to determine their resale value. He returned with a price 26% less than the website offered. When I told him this he agreed to match that price. I proceeded to order the clubs. At the onset of the transaction I told him I had a coupon.he said they would apply it at the register. After filling out the paperwork he told me the coupon wouldn't be honored, Ping Clubs were excluded. I will give the clerk the benefit of the doubt and write it off to inadequate training. My issue is he should have checked prior to starting the process instead of wasting my time as well as his. Nevertheless I will not be returning to their store, I will make the extra few minutes drive to Roger Dunn where I won't fill like I am being treated by a used car salesman. read more

I would shop all the time last year and Chris was very helpful. He also knew a lot about all the golf products and he also re shafted my full iron set and they came out great. I came back to this store recently to find out that Chris is no longer there. An employee told me he was let go for a very dumb reason. I find this very odd due to the fact that he seemed like their best and most knowable worker. I think was a very bad call by whoever made that decision to let him go. I have had several bad experiences with this Golf Galaxy and particularly the manager! He is very rude and has no customer skills. Unfortunately, I purchased a wedge only to return it the following day because I felt I did not need it. The older man which I assume was the manager, immediately, stated in a very aggressive manner that there are no returns. I assured him I had the receipt and did not use it or strike on the ground. He still insisted that he would not take the club back. Finally, I offered to take "store credit" or a gift card of equal value which he grudgingly approved. The only reason I am okay with giving this place 1 star is because it is located in the same plaza of a Jamba Juice. I went to this location on a Sunday and specifically told the sales associate that the items I was purchasing would be used for a golf tournament the following day. Monday morning comes around. And I don't have anything to wear. Despite spending $$$$$$$ the day before. Turns out that Isaac, the sales associate, had neglected to remove the magnetic security strip from the clothes. How incompetent could you be? And why bother installing these security measures on your merchandise if they literally do not work? I got fitted and ordered a driver with golf Galaxy in Pasadena. They told me I would receive it in 2 weeks. A month and a half has gone by and have not received anything. I called them today and they said it has already been delivered. I asked them to provide the tracking number and signature from who it was received and they said they can't provide that information. My dad is a frequent patron of Golfsmith but his experience today has completely ruined the store for him. He came in with 3 clubs to regrip. Employee said that it would take 24 hours, even though he had told the customer in front of my dad that he could wait for it. Said that this was because the other customer only had one club but my dad had 3. My dad said that he was willing to pay extra to get all three regriped today. Employee refused and said that there was no manager in the store to talk to. He ended up directing my dad to another person named Bob. Since regriping technically has no labor charge, they charged my dad to regrip 2 clubs. When my dad was waiting, he noticed that another customer came in who seemed to know Bob. This person also had 2 clubs to regrip and my dad noticed that he wasn't charged extra and could wait for it. Obviously this is favoritism and unfair to customers. My dad's not going back. read more

The Best Buy for golf equipment. They have hundreds of bags, clubs, balls, gear, everything to choose from. You can buy any club, play it for a month, and if you don't like it, you can return it for 90% of what you paid for it. They also have shops and classes to help you make your own clubs. They also have an area where you can try clubs you are thinking of getting with this virtual reality video game, where you hit a ball off a mat and it shows you it's projection. Probably the best aspect of Golfsmith is that they will let you try out some clubs in the 2 hitting stalls near the back, when the store isn't too crowded. There is also a nice putting practice green that lets you try out a ton of putters. I stop by from time to time to see what's new, but I'd rate their pricing as average. However, their selection is quite good. I have found most of the staff pretty knowledgeable and helpful. Worth a stop if you're in the area, but be sure to check their prices. read more

What can I say about this place other than it is a golfer's paradise! The selection is outstanding! For a store that doesn't have much floor space they sure make good use of it. All the latest equipment, apparel and training aids are here and for a decent price too! The customer service here is excellent! I have been to golf stores where I didn't feel welcome and asking a sales associate a question was unheard of! Not at this location. I've asked the associates who work here a million questions and they have been nothing but patient with me and answered all of the questions I throw their way. They're also pretty cool about letting you try and hit any club that you want. Such was the case when I was torn between two drivers and didn't know which one to choose. The salesperson took me to the demo area and made me swing away and talked me through the pros and cons of each driver until I was satisfied with one. Never heard of that policy and it does not state that in your 90 day buy with confidence policy. This is the second time he's given me a issue with returning something. I get you don't want to dent your monthly numbers but don't insult my intelligence by saying exchange a club for club. Glad I had you on video saying that so I can send it to corporate. These guys made me look like a hero to my 15 year old son! My son is on the golf team at his high school. During practice last week he broke his 3wood. The club is just under a year old. The guy helping me said he would call Taylor Made to see if they would prorate repairs, replace it or do nothing at all. He comes back after not only negotiating with TM to replace the club at no charge but upgraded the club to the next generation. I surprised my son with the club last night. What a smile.
