My experience has been far better than that... more like taking 10-14 strokes off my score, after only 4 lessons. I "played golf" for decades but had never taken a lesson. I am 75-years-old. I was initially worried that the golf coach would want to correct 50+ things all at once. Larry Salmi, my coach, only focused on a couple of things things each lesson. Their technology for me is really fun and instructive. While I am still not a "par" golfer, I am, for the most part, keeping it on my fairway. A relief to others on the course, and far more fun for me. Before Golftec I think I had only had 1 par in my life. Now I am disappointed when I don't get at least one birdie and a few pars in a round!

He said they were the Ferrari of club fitters. "Master Fitter" had me hit my 7 iron and then had me hit different 6 irons. He ran the numbers on the "optimizer" and said I could only get 10 yards more from my 7 iron and that the club was doing its job. Stopped the iron fitting there and went to driver. Today, Jeff had me warm up, casually asking about my game, usual ball flight etc. He explained to me the potential causes of my misses. One of the reasons being, the club was too light. He gave me a lot of really priceless swing tips. We worked on with different shafts and heads... he explained the process and connected it to my swing. He put stickers on the face to show where I was hitting the ball. He always reviewed distance trends and took in to account the flight of my misses. Thankfully I was able to execute his tips and the average carry of my 7 iron was amazing. On course, my TOTAL distance would be 120. After Jeff's club and swing magic, my CARRY was 130. Total sometimes 140-150. So excited to get my new set of irons. My only regret is I didn't come here first. I'll be coming back here for woods and have him check with driver I got from. Club champion. I really wish I went here first. Iron fitting was $150 but the swing tips alone I feel was so much more. Will be telling everyone to come here. We called to see what…read moretype of beginner clubs they carry and Drew asked us all the pertinent information and went to see what they had on hand. He put his recommendations up at the front counter. We live in SCV and made a trip to North Hollywood based on our interaction over the phone with Drew. All the staff were friendly. We decided to get all three clubs and Drew helped us find a reasonable putter. He really encouraged me. I have recently taken a lesson and played a small par 3 course and would like to keep trying. Drew explained that if I want a full beginner set of clubs to bring back the ones I purchased within 90 days for a full store credit to be used for a set of clubs. You then have 1 year to upgrade that set with a full refund/store credit. They really encourage everyone giving golf a chance, which I find very enlightening. So far all my golfing experiences have been good and Drew and this Roger Dunn Golf Shop are on the top of the list.

This store is the best in the area though in terms of size and sheer quantity of merchandise available! This store is massive and has the best golf selection in OC! They offer so many different types of clothing, golf accessories and new and used clubs. I've bought a few sets of clubs here both for myself and my kids and they are all top quality! I also like how they have a 3 month return policy and if you want to upgrade your clubs within 1 year you get a $699.99 credit for any pre-packaged Adult Package or Starter Set. I haven't used that for myself but I did take advantage of that for my kids. I also like their indoor driving range to try out new clubs. I've purchased clothing and golf accessories here as well and they have a super great selection and variety. Overall, I just wish the sales employees weren't so condescending to women.... but the younger guys don't do that as much, so like I said, just try to get a younger guy to help you if you're female and it will be a much more pleasant shopping experience! One of the employees came up and asked if I needed help. I asked a basic question about why some drivers were more expensive than others, and the answer I got was pretty surface-level--basically, "they're newer and have better technology." He offered to let me swing a few, which I did, but then he surprised me by saying, "You might be better off going next door to Roger Dunn Golf Shops." I thought that was weird for one store to be sending me to a competitor... Did I smell? I took his advice, and I'm really glad I did. At Roger Dunn, the experience was on a completely different level. I got fully fitted for clubs using real data--club speed, ball speed, spin rate, trajectory, distance--the whole deal. They had the equipment to actually measure everything and dial in what worked best for my joke of a swing. I was able to try multiple clubs at a variety of prices and compare them side by side in a way and with data that made sense. What really stood out was the time and attention I got. The guy helping me didn't rush, didn't push, and gave genuinely helpful advice the entire time. In a retail world where customer experience often feels like an afterthought, this was the exact opposite. I walked out with a driver that felt right, cost way more than I was intending on spending and more importantly, confidence that I made the right choice. I won't be buying golf stuff anywhere else. He ended up getting what he needed, but we didn't shop further, & we won't be back. I worked in customer service for the Longest time, I was shocked by the lack of education of this employee. This is No way to treat people. We'll be giving another establishment our money, & we were ready to drop a lot as I'm getting into golf myself. They need to retrain their employees.
