Keith teaches up at Scholl Canyon in Glendale and is usually there 5 days a week, sometimes even more when needed. I was originally referred to Coach Keith after my son stopped taking lessons with another golf coach. Coach Keith was referred to me as being a wonderful and patient Junior Golf Coach. Patient and awesome are two words I can describe Keith in short. He also teaches a lot of adults too. Coach K has been such a great golf coach that my family considers him as a good friend now. Business is business but the friendship between my son and I and Keith has grown into a personal one. He's been great and I've seen my son excel in golf so quickly with his wood, iron, short game and putting game. Keith also talks to the kids about their mental game too which is beneficial for junior golfers. In addition to on-range instruction, Coach Keith also does on-course lessons, group outings, summer combines, and other junior and adult activities. If you want to be great at golf, I suggest any new golfer (or seasoned golfer) take golf lessons. I also recommend Coach Keith Morgan for lessons!

They all seemed to be teaching their swing. For me, I wanted a coach that showed me what my faults were and how to fix those. Keith does that. To me, he is the best version of a modern golf teacher. (If you listen to the podcasts Chasing Scratch or the Sweet Spot, you'll know what I'm talking about) Listen, golf is still hard. And Keith can only instruct you, you'll still need to put in the work. But just anecdotal evidence of how much you should trust him: I was shooting in the mid 90s. And after maybe 5 or 6 lessons. I love the fact that the lessons are indoor and has cameras so that he can show me and I can see what I need to change and work on. AND there's free parking !! Something I was worried about with getting lessons was not getting my money's worth. Sometimes instructors can be very chatty and I don't feel like I'm getting an actual full hour's worth of a lesson. If that is something you're concerned about, please consider Nowndale! Every time I come in for a lesson, it is jam packed with information and practice time. He really focuses on the lesson and your improvement. I feel very comfortable asking him questions (even if they feel silly) and he'll kindly answer and help me understand. I really have nothing negative to say. I've been and avid recreational golfer on and off since my mid 20's (let's just I'm somewhere in my 40's ). I wanted my 9 year old daughter to take up golf but I didn't think I'd be a good coach so I took up the task of looking for a good coach for kids. We went through 4 different coaches before finding Keith. He's so great with kids! He's patient and l appreciate the way he talks to Ella. As mentioned above, I've been playing golf since my mid 20's. I'm self taught, learning from watching the golf channel, reading magazines and through youtube. At my best I was shooting 93-97 and was constantly frustrated with my game. My best scores were 83 and 85 when I was hitting the range on a more consistent basis. After I found Keith, he'd take the time to help me with my swing after he was done with my daughter's lesson. I feel like if you are a beginner, Morgan, is helpful and he will guide you along the way. My current coach is David and he is amazing as well. He is very supportive and meets you at yur level. I love this program and I am super grateful to continue to learn and grow and build a greater love for the sports of golf. It is a mind game and you truly have to be focused and it's not how far you are hitting the ball. Everything is with intention. And they provide you with golf clubs for every age and gender.

It turns out that Ben is the only PGA instructor in Sunland. Ben is always patient and he explains each step clearly. He has his own teaching method, and a way of assessment. He is very experienced and knows what he is doing. When I was practicing putting one day, he asked me to putt in a direction that looked ridiculous to me. But he is the pro, what can I say?? So I followed his instruction and did exactly what he asked me to do, the ball went in! I recommend 30-minute lessons, because one-hour lessons will make me feel tired and hard to concentrate.

He incorporates the mental approach of golf into his lessons, rather than just pointing out how to change my swing. What I mean is that he gets you to be in the right mindset before hitting the ball, which has helped me a lot on the times I would get frustrated. 2. He's all about teaching a natural, fluid swing and not trying force it, rather than trying to kill the ball like I tend to do. This actually helps with not just accuracy but also distance. 3. He teaches useful drills to help your swing, that you can practice both at home or at the range. 4. The way he teaches is very simple and easy to understand. You only think about 1 or 2 things as you try your swing, instead of the list of 10 different things that just overwhelms most beginners. 5. He's really laid back, which I think helped me take in everything he was saying. Sometimes I don't know how he keeps his patience with me when I make the same mistakes over and over. 6. I was CONVINCED that I was pushing some of my shots because I need to adjust my clubs. He could have easily charged me a ton of money to make adjustments and get new shafts, but instead he looked at my swing and showed me that it was the carpenter, not the tools. I'm grateful that he taught me the root of the problem, rather than trying to accommodate for a flawed swing. 7. I frequently email him about different problems I run across during a round (how to hit on an uneven lie, etc) and he's always willing to give really helpful advice. Not many instructors would go out of their way to do that. 8. Grass range! So much better than hitting off mats. Personal story: Before meeting Ben, I knew I was casting the club but previous instructors had all told me it was because I wasn't whipping my hands/wrist fast enough, which really introduced a lot more errors and inconsistency when I tried that. When Ben explained it to me, I didn't really get it at first until I kept practicing the drill he taught me and then a few days later, it made complete sense. Now I understand how to release the club properly and effortlessly every time and that alone was worth the lesson! I can't recommend Ben enough. If you're having trouble with your swing or need club adjustments, you should definitely check him out!

I typically frequent this location, the Silverlake location, & now the Hollywood location 4 or 5 times a week!
