I'll start off by saying this is a 2 part review. One is for my daughter and one for myself. After trying out 4 coaches we, we found Keith. I've been and avid recreational golfer on and off since my mid 20's (let's just I'm somewhere in my 40's ). I wanted my 9 year old daughter to take up golf but I didn't think I'd be a good coach so I took up the task of looking for a good coach for kids. We went through 4 different coaches before finding Keith. He's so great with kids! He's patient and l appreciate the way he talks to Ella. He has lots of different drills and ways of being able to explain to her what he wants her to execute. Of course it's taken some time but I'm finally seeing some forward progress. I just want her to love the game just as much as me. I highly recommend Keith, especially if you're looking to get your child started in the wonderful game of golf! This next part is for me. As mentioned above, I've been playing golf since my mid 20's. I'm self taught, learning from watching the golf channel, reading magazines and through youtube. At my best I was shooting 93-97 and was constantly frustrated with my game. My best scores were 83 and 85 when I was hitting the range on a more consistent basis. After I found Keith, he'd take the time to help me with my swing after he was done with my daughter's lesson. After working with Keith and really breaking down my swing, working on my bad habits (of which I have plenty) I started to piece it back together again. I was finally getting to a point where I was building a more fundamental and consistent swing. Thanks to Keith, my work has paid off! I shot my LOWEST ROUND EVER!!! I shot a 78!!! I have tried several golf instructors over the years. Often I had a couple of lessons and gave up because the person was too negative or unfriendly. It is hard to find a good personable teacher. I came across Keith online and thought I would try it out. I have my lessons on the range at Arroyo Seco (South Pasadena). I think he also teaches at Monterrey Park. I really like Keith's instruction. He is patient, enthusiastic, reinforces the positives and doesn't watch the clock. I have had several lessons and my game has certain improved. My drives were going way right over the fence. Now they are going reasonably straight with some fade. Keith is reasonably priced and I highly recommend. If you want to improve your game or just hit the ball correctly, see a pro and set everything squared away. A few lessons now will give you the fundamentals which will last you for years. read more

I love Keiths ability to teach the golf swing using examples from other sports, i.e. throwing a baseball, playing tennis, even simple things like walking. His analogies help me use other sports skills I have and apply them to my golf swing. Keiths use of technology is also very cool. He showed me a photo and video my swing and he will juxtaposed it to a professional's swing that has similarities to mine....all the while, he respected and catered to my particular swing. Keith is an incredible coach and an awesome guy. I came to Keith after hacking golf balls for nearly a decade. When I took up golf, I tried to my best to combine gibberish from friends and other hacks at driving ranges, as well as Golf Channel bits and 'conventional wisdom.' Ultimately I developed a slice so nasty that I couldn't use clubs longer than an 8 iron if I hoped to find the fairway. Teeing up the ball offered no relief either. Literally every ball I hit with my driver would travel less than 130 yards down the line with a wicked slice at least 75 yards laterally. Shanks were all too common as well. It was miserable. I was shooting a 'dishonorable' 130+ (liberally taking mulligans, gimmes, and ignoring penalty strokes). Then in early 2016, I played a charity scramble where I caught the golf bug, HARD. I was determined to become a single digit index, no matter how long it took. That's when I came to Keith (May 2016). I specified, "I want to develop a natural, technically sound, sustainable swing that I can use for the rest of my life - a swing I can easily modify depending on the situation." This is where Keith really delivers while many other coaches falter. Bare in mind, all that's required to hit the ball straight is to have the clubhead moving down the intended target line, with a square clubface at the moment of impact. Nothing else. Unfortunately, many swings that coaches teach, while intended to square the clubface to the target line at impact, are difficult to replicate and also waste energy. In short, they are quick fixes that can also quickly fall apart. Keith, on the other hand, will teach you The Correct Swing. He will do so giving you as much or as little detail as you like, using simple drills to help you progress one step at a time. After working with Keith for about 20 months, my game has indeed significantly improved!! I am now regularly breaking 100, with honor! I thoroughly understand the golf swing and ball flight. It is no longer a mystery - it's a series of motions, each predicated by the last. This makes it much easier to assess my mistakes when they crop up, whether on the driving range or in the middle of a round. And perhaps most fun of all, I'm now driving the ball very well! Keith is a phenomenal golf instructor. He breaks things down in ways that are super easy to understand and relates them to other sports/things in life. He is very patient. enthusiastic, and overall a really great guy. There are places that will analyze your swing if you come in to their store and let them film you, well Keith uses technology that will analyze your swing right at the course. He can then compare your swing to that of professionals and can diagram things from photos that really demonstrate what you are doing right/wrong. He is also super attentive and really analyzes each swing; never once did he simply say, "ok go again..." and this is a great thing; he is so knowledgeable that he elaborates after each swing saying "this is what you did this time to make your swing better/worse" I highly recommend Keith as a golf instructor! read more

Keith is a natural teacher. He is really patient and positive and you can tell that he loves teaching golf. I was kind of intimidated to get golf instruction, but Keith really is very easy going and keeps things relaxed which helps me stay loose when I'm hitting. When I started playing, I just hit the ball based on feel. As a result, my game was very inconsistent. I play a lot of scrambles for my job and I always felt like I was the weak link in my foursome. Now I hit my drives straight consistently and my irons are so much better. I still revert back to some of my bad habits when I'm tired but Keith has given me the fundamentals to play well. After stumbling upon Keith's website when doing a search for a new instructor in the LA area I figured he was worth a try since I really wanted to put some good work in to improving my game. Keith has a great sense of helping you understand what he is trying to get across and what you need to improve. The use of video imaging along with comparison with some of the best swings in the game makes it much easier to comprehend. I have been working with Keith for about 7 months now. Everytime I leave a session with him I have a new desire for the game. In my time with him I have gotten my game down from a 16 handicap to a 9 handicap, have eliminated the dreaded slice and have been able to really enjoy this great game. Thanks to Yelp I found Keith! A group of girlfriends decided to take up lessons and I'm so glad Keith was able to work with our schedules (it's hard to coordinate 4 people). Keith is very patient, stern when he needed, but that's to make sure there's no "chicken wings" going on - he's a jokester too. In addition to the group lessons, I also had a few private ones to work through some of the habits I was unintentionally starting to form. Keith videos your form using a sporty-appy-thingy with squiggles and replays, and over the course of my sessions, was able to see the progress which is quite neat. I've referred Keith to my sister & bro-in-law who's played leisurely since forever, he too enjoyed his lessons with Keith - a few adjustments and tweaks to his form, and he was hitting the ball straighter and further. Keith watches, assesses, and diagnoses. Ultimately improving your form and even breaking habits with different drills (not gonna lie, some feel strange... but they work). Keith is a teacher at a couple colleges. I took his spring course through east la college last January. As a beginner, I've been golfing for about a year, I was hesitant because I'm always apprehensive about "instruction" and being told I'm doing something wrong. But throughout the course I learned a lot and my game did nothing but improve. I've been able to keep up with all my friends and parents. Everyone has been impressed. I liked him so much I bought my husband private lessons for our anniversary and he really really loved them, an his game improved so much. Our relationship with Keith continues more than a year later, we've both done lessons several times. His lessons are affordable, he really takes the time to help your personal problems, and doesn't just give generic lessons on how to be a pro. I have been going to Keith for about a year now and can honestly say I've seen improvement in my game. He is very good at quickly analyzing what you are doing incorrectly and provides you with drills to begin getting back on track to the proper grip, posture, body motion and swing path. I recommend taking a series of 1 hour lessons as the time goes by very quickly. What I like best about Keith's instruction methods is that if he sees you are not getting a drill, he quickly moves on to an alternate approach to the same drill that you can connect with. - Keith is a great golf instructor and a great all around guy. I tried a few other instructors before I found Keith, and their advice was fine, but nothing compared to the quality of Keith's lessons. He just has a very good eye for seeing what's wrong with your swing. He then gives you appropriate drills, and useful things to think about during your swing that help you to see and to correct your problems. - One of my favorite Keith-teaching-tools is how he uses his iPad to take videos of your swing and then shows it to you in slow motion, and stop-motion, so that you can see your problems from an objective perspective. The best part is that he can place your video next to a pro golfer's video, and can play them back simultaneously in slow motion. Keith then stops both videos and draws lines on the iPad to show you where your club is, where your arms are, how your back and shoulders are positioned, and where your legs and hips are, all in comparison to the professional's. It's really quite helpful. - Keith even takes extra time with me (and I assume other students) after the lesson by emailing, and sometimes even calling/texting, to remind me of what I learned and what I need to practice. He has emailed me still images on more than one occasion that he took of my swing in progress, with lines and notes drawn thereon. He certainly goes the extra mile. It seems like Keith truly wants his students to get better and wants us to enjoy the game. - As for my swing, well, my list of problems is way too long to include in this review. I taught myself how to golf and then spent many years ingraining my horrible habits. Suffice it to say, Keith first had me completely change my grip and my setup, which I know were terrible. Then we worked on my takeaway . . . then the top of my swing . . . then the transition at the top . . . I'm finally at the point that we are working on my downswing and my hideous, collapsing follow-through. My swing has transformed from some cave-man-like clubbing at the ground to what now resembles a fairly decent golf swing. Yet, I still need a lot more lessons. I definitely will keep going to Keith, both because he's very good at what he does, because he's a positive and personable guy, and because his prices are very, very reasonable. - It is very tough to change old habits. I highly recommend that If you're just starting out you take lessons to learn how to swing correctly from the beginning. However, even if you've been golfing for years, Keith can help you. Frequently, before and after my lessons, I have seen Keith helping many low-handicap golfers, and they keep coming back to him for advice. So, whether you're just starting out, are a mediocre golfer with lots of bad habits, or are a good golfer whose swing just needs some fine tuning, give Keith a try. Keith has been helping me work on my game on and off for the last few years now and I can safely say he has turned my game around. Not only is Keith a great guy, but he has an in depth knowledge of the golf swing that most other instructors just cannot match. Clearly golf is his passion, it's mine too, and Keith has helped me from a high single digit handicapper, get down to a 1.
